Sileetris Conducts Troop Mobility Study(Input please!)

Since the beginning of warfare's history, means have been sought to move troops faster. The first and most obvious solution came with horses, which served diligently as the only alternative to marching until warfare modernized and motorized vehicles took over. Today, aircraft, helicopters, and all sorts of vehicles exist to get troops from place to place..........But they are still the only alternative to marching.

Personal mobility is still largely behind group mobility. Many attempts have been made in the earlier part of the century to change this, notably with jetpacks and hover-platforms. Obviously these efforts have failed.

Sileetris intends to design something that will actually work, and be practical, but we need outside opinions for feasibility.

So far we have been looking into a Trikke(Googled (http://images.google.com/images?hl=en&lr=&ie=UTF-8&safe=on&c2coff=1&q=trikke&btnG=Search)) with a small quasiturbine motor(high power/weight. Low fuel use.), modified with offroad spring-based tires and shocks(as opposed to standard rollerskate wheels.).

We have chosen this design because it is more foldable than mini-motorcycles and bicycles, has better offroad capabilities than scooters or skateboards, and requires less muscle-power and balance than skates.

So what do you think? What would you do? Is this a complete waste of time? Would you buy the thousands of unused prototypes for your civilians(jk)?

(ooc: American paratroopers at one time got tiny motorcycles to drive around, so you can't say its never been seen as a good idea. Forces like paratroopers always need stuff like this.)

Moving troops around quickly is generally best left to APCs or other similar methods of transportation; it is my opinion that this is more efficient.

One-man high mobility units should only be employed in a scout/light attack role.

Take, for example, the Axis Nova Hound AFV; a 1-man mono-cycle with all-terrain capability, anti-armor capability, and a top speed of almost 190 km/hour.

(OOC: Still waiting on those specs and a reply to the TG I sent you concerning the exclusive defense contracts :( )
