I think that it would be a great idea to consider. People die every day for their countries. Don't you think it would help if no one had to die? No families in grief, no children without parents due to war,and an obediant attack force. Please take this into consideration.

While having Robots as an army source, there are many problems and money woes that arise. As humans eat, food costs money, but a robot would need to recharge AND be inspected and fixed on a daily basis. One MAJOR problem it would hold out in the feild is that they could be re-wired or transmitted new orders from the enemy (if they broke our code), i which case, our army would turn on us.

We have finaly put enough funding onto this project, as it is needed for our military's newer projects. Any help would be greatly apreciated. We would like to set up factories on other nations. Also, I would like some scientists from different regions to help out, as this is a difficult project.

But a hacker could control the robots and take over regions. So.....I think I will stay with my human armys using genetic engineering.

I do not know this "Star Wars" of which you speak, but unless the droids were wired to their controllers by a direct connection, the network could be hacked.

We shall say one thing:

We love our cougars. And by cougars I mean our Cougar-Type Anti-Vehicular Mechanicals. Can't be hacked, can't be overridden, can't be reprogrammed because they're hard-wired to self-destruct at the first sign of some punk trying to muck about with the brain case.

Add in a moderately sophisticated AI that allows it to focus primarily on tanks and destroying enemy fortifications, along with the ability to learn important commands and so on and so forth, and you have a nasty little ten-meter long harbinger of doom romping the battlefield.

So far we haven't had to use them yet, but that only means that the numbers have only been growing.

The leader of Azurbajan's weapons developnent division let in the foreign scientists. They showed them their almost well furnished rooms, the development offices, debate hall, research room, and finallly the factories. The Factories were as of now pumping out laser rifles for the droids. In the research room, men wer working on a way to mount a device on Skyhook to control the armies. In the debate hall, many men were debating the pros and cons of the droid armies. The chief researcher of the Azurbajanian Para military and weapons development and design stepped foreward " welcome to our country" he said modestly." please get some rest, work will begin later as you must be tired from sitting in a military coptor for hours." he smiled and led the scientists to their rooms.

It would seem to me that currently, the most immediated successes within the field of unmanned combat will occur in the Air Force. I expect to see robotic attack craft (with probable remote human oversight in the form of target selection and approval) in the near future. Robotic aircraft, freed from the limits of human physiology, will also be able to perform much more violent maneuvers.
Ground combat is a much messier and "fuzzier" affair. It's much harder to decide whether a target is "legitimate" or non-combatant. But then again, robotic soldiers may have a very potent psychological effect: cold, calculating killing machines, Terminator-style.

Not really. They're trained like attack dogs, and maintain a similar relationship with their dedicated "Controller". Having an AI doesn't mean that they're automatically as smart as people. They also have relatively complex friend/foe determination matrices, and are trained to spot the subtle differences between a Godulan soldier and a standard human soldier through a variety of means, including heartbeat, muscle/bone density, so on and so forth.

We kinda specialize in animal-type intelligences.

i do addmit droid armies would cut down the loss of human life but the population of this planet is too high and with some of the worlds leaders being compleatly nuts wouldn't war become too common.

as the helicpotor approached the city, the pilot said: "this is it? I thought it would be smaller, almost like agriculture. The helicpotor tuched down and 3 sildiers got out and ushered the scientists inside. We will head back to the country now. "Now I must warn you what you see in this facility can never be told to anyone. understand?"

The scientist replied "Understood." and closed the back of the helicopters door "Lets go!" he yelled over the sound of the roaring helicopter engines

The helicoptor roared and took off. About 15 minutes passed and 3 objects were detected on radar. "Sir! we have blips" "Where?" "Right th- wait. where did they go?" It must have been birds. 20 more minutes passed. "there it is again! Look!" What the he- a voice on the radio interrupted. "this is the Azurbajanian air force" The captain breathed a sigh of relief. " we request to escort you to the facility." The pilot replied: "roger, good work pilots" The trip from then on was less exciting. When they arrived, the helicoptor landed in a heavily forested area. A small hut stuck out, but looked abandoned. The scientists were taken inside and were forced into an elevator. The elevator traveled down for almost three minutes. When they arrived at the facility, the scientists were given a quick tour and were sent to their rooms to go to sleep.

The Minister of Science, George Pachen, waited expectantly for the colonel to arrive. Suddenly, the doors burst open, revealing Colonel Fichok and his small group of men.

"I understand we have rejected the idea of robotic armies?" he said. The science minister nodded. "Indeed. We have decided to use the robots for medical purposes only."

The colonel threw his arms up in despair. "But sir!" he said, "Think of the advantages that this could bring! We would never have to lose good men again! We wouldn't have to pay our human -" the science minister cut him off.

"That is ENOUGH!" cried the science minister. "An Azerbajan helicopter will be here any moment to pick up our scientists. We are going into this for the medical purposes, not for the military!"

The science minister sat as the colonel left the room, strongly angered.

A helicopter touched down on the roof of the science ministry. Outside, hundreds of protesters complained that "Robots are stealing industry jobs!" and waved large banners into the air. As the last scientist entered the helicopter...

BANG! A shot rattled through the air. There were loud screams from the crowd, who began to disperse, leaving the police, who dived for cover. As the helicopter left hurriedly, several more shots were heard. The helicopter tilted each time a shot rang out around the city. It was the target!

A van, with the letters "ROYAL MILITARY POLICE" printed on it, came to a stop outside the ministry. There was a pause, before a dozen heavily armed military police officers burst out of the doors. Amidst calls of "Go! Go! Go!" were more gunshots coming from across the street. The officers returned fire, hitting one gunman and striking him dead. Another fell from the rooftop.

A helicopter hovered above the building for a few moments, before a rope dropped down and several men, all dressed in black, slid down it. Quickly looking around, they saw the fire escape door. One kicked it down, and the others piled in, weapons levelled at shoulder height. There were several shots from inside the building.

It was about five minutes until the gun battle was over. The battered intelligence service men came out of the building with the dead body of Colonel Fichok, still clinging to his gun.

My nation is made up of Clones, Humans, and AI robots/droids. All three classes are equal(at least mostly), and they all serve in the army.

While its expensive, our HUGE coffers can easily pay.

You speak of droid armies eh? well we already have that tech and not one has turned in battle.Know why? Well all of your droids should be routed to one main system that is somewhere out of reach of hackers or has an extreamly good anti-hacker program. All we could supply would be basic training for anti-hacker tech. Since our droids are not fully upgraded with weapon training and such.

So? What do you think? And if you would rather learn yourself we could fund the research.

Makaar News has just been informed of a large scale gun battle that has broken out in the capitol against rebel army forces. Sources say that Azerbajan has offered to help with the crisis. The 3rd Tank Corps has been mobilised into the city and the government expects more military to move into the city later.

The Rebels have occupied St. Mary's Hospital, a centre of medicine distribution since the outbreak of smallpox in the country. As a result, production of the smallpox cure and vaccine have been slowed. It is believed that 70 to 80 people are still being held inside the building, and the rebels...I'm sorry, we've recieved another report, we're going live to James McGregory in Hanover Square. James, what's going on?

The negotiator put down his megaphone. With a dry mouth, he began to talk. "The negotiations have failed," he said, quietly. "Storm the building."

As seven helicopters hovered on top of the building, troops began the descent, and others began destroying the locks on the doors. The shooting began again.

More troops were landed on top of the MBC. Three pulled out small devices and attatched them to the transmission tower before abseiling down and preparing to storm the building. As they reached the ground, there was an explosion as the transmission mast collapsed. TV all around the country went off to be replaced by the backup transmission programs as the fighting continued.

Moments after the transmission mast exploded, the troops stormed the MBC building. Gunshots came from both buildings as Prime Minister Ranford turned on the radio transmitter in the Imperial War Rooms.

"Prime Minister Ranford to AeroSpaceCity, your forces are welcome into the country. The rebels have been cornered in the hospital and TV station. Please acknowledge."

At the lab, the scientists were awakened by soldiers."I hope you are aware of the situation in your countries." one said. the scientists were taken to the reasearch room to study data and experiment on movement of these droids.

The Makaaran chief scientist, Dr. Labelle Troit, head of the Cybernetics division at Makaara National University, ran some simulations on her computer. Everything should run perfectly. As he fitted the last arm onto the first robot, it sprang to life, instantly unsheathing its weapon. Searching around, it saw nothing to shoot, identifying all of the scientists as allies, and so climbed back into its casing, waiting for orders.

"My god," Troit said, "We've done it!" The robot's head turned to her. Then, in a mimicing tone, it said, "Your god, you've done it!" Troit smiled, looking over at the Azerbajan scientist. "That's the language processor. It still needs a lot of fine tuning, but it should be able to take vocal commands soon." She turned back to the robot. "Robot, here is your command. Climb out of your casing." The robot turned back to her. "Me, here is my command. Climb out of my casing." Troit muttered a curse under her breath. "Well, at least the grammar processor works. It can identify 'you' and 'me' and 'he' and 'she' perfectly, it just doesn't know when NOT to." She got back to work, turning off the robot and carrying on with her research.

The Head sceintist Dr. McMahon looked at the disasembled robot, then started putting it together, he put the head on and it awoke. He looked at the other sceintist and said "We've done it....We just have to make alittle more and fiddle with the voice commands" the robot spokeback "You've done it, You just have to make alittle more and fiddle with the voice commands" The Dr. smiled, "Lets get to work" and opened the back of the robot and changed some wires around in the voice command panel

Some heavily armed men entered the room and interupted the scientist's work. Then, stepped in a man in a suit. Greetings men, I am the leader of the country of Azurbajan. I am the one who has gathered you here and wish to witness your triumph. This day is a large milestone for us. Let it be heard that not another life willl be lost due to war in this country ever again. I hope for us, I hope for you, and I hope that this project succedes. on his way out, the leader tld one of the soldiers something. Themn he was escorted out by base guards. The soldiers stayed on site.

As the robot came online again, it slowly lifted its weapon and searched the room. It stepped around the room in its odd way of walking. Then, without warning, it raised its gun at the soldier and fired repeatedly.

Of course, the gun wasn't armed. That's just common sense.

However, the robot had been programmed with backup subroutines. Realising that there was no ammunition in its gun, it threw it aside. It extended one arm, which folded up into a club-shaped object, before running at the soldier and clubbing him to the ground. Before it could deliver the final, fatal blow, it was shut off, and collapsed to the ground.

"Son of a bitch piece of metal shit!" said the soldier as medics came into the room. The soldiers stared at the scientists. Then one withdrew a knife and was about to attack one, but was held back by soldiers. "What the hell happened here?" said the commander as he stared at the machine.

The Scientists were brought into a different room. There, there were some blueprints and designs along with pictures on walls and some tables with all sorts of weapons. The scientists were to design a smaller laser rifle for the droids.

Back in Makaar, the situation was worsening. News reports from the front lines in the Protectorate States had been arriving...

This morning, thousands of Makaaran conscripts went against their country and began a strike. As the Makaaran army does not have a union, this has not spread beyond this particular section of the army.

Situations worsened when the Makaaran embassy to the Israeli/Syrian protectorate was bombed earlier today. The ambassador, along with three bodyguards, were killed in the attack.

The Rebel faction responsible for the hospital takeover has been neutralised. Their leader, General Haigue, is believed to have shot himself, although no body has yet been found.

Makaaran officers found themselves with another rebellion on their hands, though, as the conscripts of the Protectorate Branch marched one hundred and six kilometres back to their barracks.

The new King, criticised for his reputed weakness, this morning put on his full military uniform and, using his honourary rank of Commander In Chief of the Makaaran Armed Forces, gave the order to all troops to return to their duties and end this rebellion.

"Hallijuia the great storm is over" said one Azurbajanian soldier said as they were airlifted out of combat from a helicoptor. They were finally safe. or so they thought. An unidentified fighter came out of nowhere. The helicoptor was engaged. one missile hit, and it was not damaged. a second hit and it took some damage. a third hit and the engine was in flames. the fourth hit and it was sent up in a ball of fire. The helicoptor hit a building. There were no survivors.

an Azurbajanian scientist stepped into the droid room. "Ahhhhh, this is the problom." The scientist took a small black chip off the table. He inserted it into the control area of the droid. He then activated it. "You will not kill friendlies now." The droid relplied: "I will not kill friendlies now." some more droids were brought into the room and lined up against a wall. % droids were friendly and one was not. The droid had to pick out the hostile in under 5 seconds. All the droids were activated. every droid started to take out it's weapon. the scientist hit a stopwatch 1,2...3,4... the droid fired. It hit and destroyed the hostile tagged droid. Excellant. The next test involved humans. 6 brave men walked into the room. 5 friendly 1 hostile. 5 seconds, one bean bag. the scientist hit the stopwatch. 1,2.. 3, the droid fired and hit the hostile right in the chest. " well, friend, you have a future in this country."

I have one word of advice about going to war with Hataria: Don't.

He has a...history of godmodding(which basically cheating. I.E. saying you have a 700,000,000,000,000 man army armed with nukes when you only have 20 million people total.).

However, we(as in the more experienced peoples on the forum) are trying to remedy hi Godmodding, and we ALMOST did in one thread(he started cheating near the end though)

My/our nation has no need of your mechanical army. I/we have been modified via implanted nano-processor. Communication between the processors in all of my/our citizens allows an excellent network for me/us: CAIN, the Controlling Artificially Intelligent Network of Otagia. All the scientists were gathered in a room. They were ecstatic in their tryumph, and were ready to un cork some schampagne whe suddenly an alarm went off. Heavy security doors closed locking the scientists in the room. The soldiers were fighting the intruders in the hallways and the elevator. The top area where the hidden enterance was had been flodded in soldiers. The military closed in on the area. The security forces fought hard ad were backed up by the prototype droids. The chaos in he halway was intensified when one soldier was identified as a soldier in the USSR. Why would they attack us? What did we do? the security door was completely destroyed. All Azurbajanian scientists were shot and the foreign scientists were just left. The security forces were again engaging USSR soldiers. The droid prottypes were doing well in combat. The Azurbajanian army arrived and forced the rest of the soldiers out.

Earlier today, it was revealed that the government have entered into an arms pact to create robotic droid armies with Azurabjan. The government is feverishly denying the claims, but a dossier, leaked by the Ministry of the Crown this morning, shows designs and schematics for the droids.

In other news, fighting in the northern city of Habad has intensified. The government have called in tanks to bombard the rebel headquarters. The city has been evacuated by the police, who then closed of the city limits. Makaarian troops and Intelligence Officers of the Crown are engaging rebel factions on the eastern and southern sides of the city, with order restored in the northern side and western side.

The rebels call for the conscripted troops fighting against Makaarian Protectorate State Liberation Army to end their war and join the 'liberators'. It is believed that General Haigue, leader of the rebel factions, has shot himself to avoid capture.

The Ministry of the Protectorate States has released photos of men they want to question in reference to the Liberation Army's attempts. Igor Voslabov and Jaden Karaak are believed to have information about the attacks which left 300 civilians dead in the Israeli/Syrian protectorate capitol of Jerusalem.

This is an Azurbajanian Military Announcement - Last night, we were attacked by what it appears to be some USSR soldiers. The men were part of 4-5 divisions of the red guard.They entered the building and left a handfull of survivors. "Why did our comrades attack us" "How did they find our base?" "We never did anything wrong!" These are the cries of the soldiers who fought the troops. We do believe that this was an un-prevoked attack ansd we may start gathering allies, but first, we will debate. More news later.

The Makaaran government has declared a state of emergency after the killings of several Azerbajan scientists working on the new army robot project. The Royal Air Force today made a bombing raid on the rebel stronghold town of Grythor in the south of the country, which has only just been cured of smallpox. The rebel militia has begun to move further north into the quarantine zone. The Ministry of Dilpomacy has today released details of the collaboration with Azerbajan to develop robots as medics, and of the attack suffered on the lab. No Makaaran scientists were hurt.

The Comonwealth of Azurbajan will send it's aid and medic drids have been bult.
