Introduction/Jumpgate

16 stardrive cores are linked to form a jumpgate. When linked to another jumpgate, it allows instant travel between starsystems.

There are currently 2 operational jumpgates. One is in orbit of the Mars moon Phobos, which provides easy access to Earth and our asteroid colonies. The second is in orbit of "Planet X102" in the proxima centauri binary system.

4 years and 3 months ago, 18 starships departed with colonists and a few soldiers to the poxima system. After they arrived, 16 of the ships were dismantled to form the jumpgate and other orbital facilites. We are in the process of colonizing and teraforming "Planet X102" and already have outposts on the surface, in orbit and on the moon. Total Islamaisbad presence in the system is 400 soldiers and 1200 engineers, scientists, researchers, gov't officals, and other civillan personnel. We are also looking to set up colonies and mining operations on asteroids simmilar to those in our home star system.
UPDATE: other, faster forms of FTL travel have been aquired, erefit of the fleet is underway

Q: how was a stardrive core invented?
A: Stardrives and lightspeed technology are based off the remains of a deep space probe of unknown origin found just beneath the surface of Mars in 2077, the original stardrive core, from the probe, is used to power our fleet's flagship, and is capable of 2.1 times light speed. (all other star drives are limited to about 100kps under light speed)
Q: Does a ship entering a 16 point jumpgate need a stardrive onboard?
A: Nope. :P
Q: Is it risky jumping without a jumpgate deployed on the other end?
A: Not only is it risky, it's impossible.

A new multi-gun frigate is being developed, a prototype has been commisioned and we are retrofitting shipyards......

oh well - we only current RP between 2020-2040 in the International Fleet.
