Breaking News!
This just in! A group of Mercenaries, employer unknown, have stormed the presidential palace! As of this moment, casualties are unknown, but there is fierce fighting inside of the building. The north wing is in flames, and most of the fighting is in the west and central wings.
Inside the Presidential Palace
President Dellios fired a few shots at the attackers and hid back behind the desk he was using as cover. At his sides were 12 of his most trusted bodyguards. The mercenaries had stormed the building at 20:07, and the fight was still raging 2 hours later. Over 700 mercenaries had come in, and they set the North Wing, home to around 70 offices, in flames. There were around 140 people on duty in that wing, and only 17 had come out so far. The palace was guarded by only 40 guards, but they had all undergone rigourous training for at LEAST 10 years. The president tunred to the radio man at his side. "Mr. Beckan, call the army. Tell them to withdraw their forces from the Great Sixth Reich, its an emergency! The rebel factions are certainly going to use this to launch some sort of attack." The man started talking on the radio and the president resumed firing at the attackers.
In the Lightning Starian Province of East Washibar
Although it had been over 600 years since the Lightning Starians had won their freedom from Washibar, and it had been 317 years since the province had come under TLSian controll, the inhabitants of East Washibar still DESPISED their TLSian rulers. Thats why there were over 27 resistance groups, each with at LEAST 4,000 members. The largest, the Legion of Freedom, had over 170,000 members.
Seeing how the president was almost certainly going to be killed, and seeing how only 1,700 soldiers were based in the province at that time, the rebel groups saw their chance and took action. Over 23 major military installations came under attack, and one city, Williamsville, which was full of Lightning Starian supporters, was burned to the ground. All in all, over 74,000 civilians were killed, along with 1,613 soldiers.
((OOC: If anyone wants, they can assume controll/claim that they employed the mercenaries. The first country that does will get the mercenaries, and they will almost CERTAINLY gain large chunks of land, money, and power by doing so. They'll also gain around 139,000,000 Citizens from the East Washibar province.))
