From a prison cell 100 miles from his former "island plaything", the General at the head of the United Macronistic States has slammed what he calls "the corrupt delay" in bringing democracy to Shambolique.
In a bizarre statement, General Tomas Beconsal demands that the multi-party panel, appointed in the summer after the peaceful withdrawl of UMS troops, allow the Shambolique population to vote for a new parliament. "What we did was build a nation, not avoid the call of the people," said Gen. Beconsal.
Swiftly responding to the statement, the Social & Democratic Party leader Padris Monatal slammed the General as "a tasteless hypocrite" who "has forgotten the hundreds of people who were killed when the UMS occupied our nation."
Mr Monatal used his response to tell the population that elections would follow once registration procedures had been put in place.
Liberal & Radical Alliance leader Ulem Peninteaux has hinted in the past that an unofficial "peoples parliament" may be set up in protest at the 4 month delay.
