History of the Holy Isochron Empire

Isochronous

Isochronous is the smallest of all continents, located between Africa and Australia. It is on the sub continental plate which includes India and Australia. In the 1500s explorers discovered Newfoundland and settled there. They cited northern Canada but decided it to be even worse a place than Newfoundland, so they stayed there. Isochrons were related to Hong Kongers, East Timorese and Fijians which is how they eventually had some sort of Pacific Empire.

Many years ago, the people of East Timor were connected to Australia via land link. These early people walked to what is today known as the Northern Territory of Australia. Later, they met the Aboriginal people, whom they began to trade with. Eventually, many East Timorese settled in the Northern Territory and it became a proxy of East Timor.

Similar things happened in Fiji around the year 1000, where Fijian islanders discovered places like Tonga, Vanuatu and New Caledonia. Over time through trade they spread their influence to Kiribati, Tuvalu and the Solomon Islands. This is historically accepted as the first half of the beginning of the Isochron Empire.

For a short while the East Timorese and Solomon Islanders lived together in Indonesia before Dutch imperialism slaughtered the settlements there. The East Timorese only survived because an East Timorese man under the captivity of the Dutch navy sliced his thumb off when threatened with torture. This prompted the Dutch to respect the East Timorese and leave them be. With the arrival of Dutch and Portuguese colonisers, Catholocism was introduced and is the religion of 78% of all people in the Holy Isochron Empire.

Some East Timorese also made their way to the Cocos Islands, near Christmas Island.

The final aspect in the triangle of the Isochron Empire’s beginnings is Hong Kong. A small tin pot fishing town, it was occupied for around 90 years by the United Kingdom. Hong Kongers first came into contact with Fijians when some were shipped by the British to Fiji to work on farms. After the British handed over their colony to China, Hong Kongers revolted and the enormity of pro-democracy demonstrations meant the Communists pulled out, and they could be part of the Isochron Empire with which they felt so much affinity. The father of the current monarch, Emperor Tamazoid I, was born in Hong Kong which is one reason for the monarch’s burgeoning popularity in Hong Kong.

Austria-Hungary was once part of the Isochron Empire. But after the Hapsburgs were kicked out at the end of World War I, they fled to Ecuador and strengthened it’s military. The Hapsburgs were related to the ruling Isochron family, the Tam family (who still rule today) and some also went to Armenia. Those who went to Ecuador quickly also took over El Salvador, whilst those in Armenia struggled to keep in contact with those who fled to Monaco. They did however expand their influence into Georgia. When there was an orchestrated uprising in Panama to allow the US to build the Panama canal, the Hapsburgs in El Salvador took their opportunity to gradually usurp Panama and now control the vital trade route.

During World War II Hong Kong was occupied by the Japanese. Many Hong Kongers wanted revenge so the fled overland to the nearest British Army in Burma where they fought. After the war there were so many Hong Kongers in Burma that, with the assistance of the Isochron royals they took over Burma after the British withdrew.

After World War II with the decline of many imperial powers, the Isochron Empire finally went mad with expansion when the rest of the world was weary. For strategic purposes, the Isochrons seized many islands for strategic value and the minerals contained on the islands. Acores, Chagos Arch, Maldives, Reunion, Sao Pedro e Sao Paulo, Tenerife, Suqutra, South Georgia and the South Sandwich Islands were all seized.

Of all the Isochron African holdings only Eritrea and Central Africa remain under control. They did have possessions in Tanzania/Kenya however they withdrew to let Roycelandia and African Commonwealth run the place. The government pulled out of Cote Divoire, Guinea-Bissum, Sierra Leone, Congo and Gabon due to co-ordinated uprisings by Communists.

In recent times there has been pressure to give up colonial holdings. However, Isochron has gone the other way and expanded, and not handed back anything since the mass African withdrawal. Under the sturdy leadership of Emperor Tamazoid I, who remarkably is ruling at only 14 after the father decided to abdicate and pursue his lifelong dream of being a medical practitioner, the Empire has strengthened and is in a new period of unity.
