OOCThis is a modern tech story where a lot of unpleasant things happen to people. If you're going to condemn me (and I'm sure people will) make your post at least longer than 10 sentences. I hate to see "I condemn you" and they don't post anymore. If you're posting here, then at least play around a little longer. I'm not in the mood for an avalanche of people declaring war on me because I am "evil". Because Western Asia owns Israel I need someone who plays that nation and Turkey as well. People from the far away lands who seek illumination and those who are my fellow countymen, listen to the Word of God. The Devil himself is raging through the Holy Land. A pilgrimage to the Holy Land is impossible thanks to their stubborn attitude and their so-called 'war on terror'. We must take back the land, if our Lord, Jesus Christ was here, then he would lead us on the barricades, and over the hills and give it back to the believer. In the coming days men and women from Guffingford signed up for the biggest army of all ages. From the upper class to beggars and vagabonds people joined the Armies of Christ to start a crusade of the modern age. Nearly 15 million men officially signed up for the Holy Army, abandoning their work on the land or in the factory. The armies marched and trained in Africa, survived in the icy lands of Scandinavia and next to their oath of Sacrifice, a Bible was the most important to all troops.

People shouted this like an oiled, perfect running machine, without a screw loose or a bolt too tight. The armies marched on. Fanaticly and without mercy the armies followed the orders of Patriarch in Guffingford. A fire of cleansing swept the nation, all infidels weren't worthy of the name human and none was allowed to escape the inquisition. The guilty heathens were burned alive, and the converted were put in a monestary. Only the true believer lives. The burnings were merely a show to let the people believe more firmly in God. People believed, and heathens were no longer accepted in Guffingford.
The days of the unbeliever are numbered! Run or die heathens, the days were you have spreaded lies and misconceptions about your so called "evolution" are over. Begone, back to the lair of the Devil which spawned you and your fairy tales

The armies marched onwards, to victory. The crusade was about to start. Groups of men were formed into regiments, regiments into armies and the armies into one solid operating warmachine, ready to liberate the land from the oppressors. The crusading force reached a massive number of 20 million ready to die for the cause. This army was too massive and would create a logistical nightmare. He who could transport himself to the Holy Land was free and those who couldn't joined the Great March, from south-eastern Germany to Greece, were the ships awaited the men.

Western Germany

For the past few months, a steady increase in men, equipment and supplies had been noticed by the paranoid generals in West Germany. It seems that the nation Guffingford has decided with all its religious zeal to launch another crusade into the Holy land, once again there would be needless blood spilt but perhaps, if they won, peace would finally be delivered to the region.

“huh, is this serious! You’re joking, it can’t be.”

“Sir I’m afraid that this is no joking matter.”

“I KNOW THAT. But…… but…. Twenty Million, surely that is an over estimate.”

“Unfortunately sir, our analysts and intelligence operatives as well as information from our ally Holy Panooly rounded down the figure to twenty million. There is in fact in excess of twenty million men in the Guffingford army.”

“My God, quickly get me the Fuhrer, surely he knows already.”

“Yes sir, he was informed just before you were.”

“Excellent, have any orders arrived as of yet.”

“Megative all we can do is stand and watch, however this may be a prime opportunity for our corporations to make a sizeable fortune from this religious army. Get me someone from Palpatine industries on the phone, they will want to learn of this.”

Two Hours later

General Rudford sat in his chair still on hold waiting to talk to a rep from Palapatine industries, finally after an age of waiting the phone began to ring and a member of the board answered. “General sorry for keeping you waiting but I have just been stuck in a phone call with the fuehrer advising us on the situation in Europe. He has asked Palpatine Industries to offer the Guffingford military a food contract to help supply this army as well as military goods. Good news ehh. So general how can I help you?”

Laughing loudly down the phone the irony failed to induce some proper humour “ahh nothing, it seems our beloved leader and I think more alike than I do with my wife. Never mind sorry to waste your time.

Near the Dr_Twist border, the Greek patriarch spoke to fourteen archbishops two-hundred-twenty-five bishops, hundreds of abbots and countless of other priests. All looked in awe at the patriarch of the Greek Orthodox church and the pontifex of the Greek Order. Many holy men and women from Russian Forces also attended and this grand speech. The patriarch looked up to the sky and he started.

SECRET IC All that remained was Dr_Twists permission to cross his lands, to Greece which he would most certainly give. The troops would march and gather more followers and when they arrive in Greece, the men would be loaded into the transport ships, to the Gaza Strip, where the crusade will commence.

Admiral Vasiliy Chernenko walked in briskly through the oak double door, each with a carved hammer and sickle in the upper panel. He handed his coat to the attendant and then strode into his office, still maintaining that urgent stride, reponding with only a "da, da" to the salutes and the crisp repetitions of "good morning, comrade Admiral." As he entered the spartan room, his aide greeted him in similar fashion, making idle conversation about the weather outside. Chernenko looked out of the window, and was glad that the first snows were not far away. Snow always lent a spash of colour to the streets. His office was a simple affair, decorated only with a portait of Lenin and of Gorshkov. The rest of the room was plain wooden walls, except for the wall behind his desk. On that wall sat a painting of the Soyuz, first of her mighty class, built under his enthusiatsic, cajoling, painfully hard-working leadership. The national anthem played softly from the radio as he sat into his chair and took a sip from the mug of tea before him, prepared by his aide just how he wanted it. The aide was a good man, and was paid well for his work.

"There's a message for you from the Prime Minister," said the aide neutrally.
"Oh?" replied Chernenko. "Urgent?"
"No sir."
"Very well." Chernenko switched on the answering machine and played back the message.

It has come to our attention that Guffingford is moving forces around in Europe. They're blaring on about some sort of Holy Crusade. It looks to the NSB like they're moving towards the south of Europe, maybe further. The country seems to be in a state of high religious fervour. Cabinet's meeting soon, so I'll tell you what the consensus is vis-a-vis action.

Chernenko stood thoughtfully, playing back the message in his head. If anything did transpire, his Fleet would be the first to be in the firing line. He thought about what might happen for a while. His Fleet was the smallest of the four Fleets, and had no battleships, nor any battlecruisers, since they could not navigate the Dardanelles Passage. If he had to attack shore targets, he was at a massive disadvantage against them. He called the aide to get another mug of tea, lit a cigarette, and picked up the telephone receiver to dial for his comrades' offices. As he did so, he looked out along green of the coastline which his window faced, over the dying trees. A frigate patrolled restlessly in the Black Sea outside the harbour. The air was alive with war.

President Ferrad, a wonderful opertunity is passing by at this moment. I overheard you plans of strenghtening our troops in Africa, but I see a greater oppertunity awaiting in Spain and Portugal. Our ships are approaching the Spanish shores, and should arrive in two days from now. The Verboten Lufftewaffe government has collapsed and nobody has heard from them since...?

Since when the president asked impatiently.

Decades ago. But that's not important right now. If we succeed in taking Spain or at least Portugal then Chellis has some serious competition in the Mediteranian. If he blocks the straits of Gribraltar then we and Dr_Twist finish him off from both sides. The plan is water tight.

Very well then my good sir, send them a message to change course and head for the Portugese/Spanish shores.

I have a better plan mr President. Send our Holy Army to the border with Unified Sith. Unified Sith will agree to this, or we will just take it from them. Station two million troops along the border with Chellian France in Belgium and another three as a back-up in The Netherlands. We have five million left and keep those near Denmark. If anything happens we need to disable Denmark first before Chellis is ready with mobilizing. The border in Germany is temporarily. We both know that. Demobilize four of the five million near Denmark and send those to Dr_Twist to ship in and head for Spain.

Right... How can we stop Hamptonshire from aiding his NATO ally? If we block the canal they have to go all the way across the British Islands. Start the mobilization of the navy, this looks like it can do out of hand fast. The crusader army must be ready for war with Chellis.

Shall I wire a telegram to Dr_Twist? I believe he will taking southern Italy. It might be a good idea to send more troops to Spain. Victory has to be achieved quick. With Verboten Lufftewaffe out of the picture, chances are our special plan is a very likely reality.

The ships carrying the tank battalions and special forces changed course and set sail for Spain and Portugal...

OOC Chellis you took Gribraltar and Morrocco but Spain and Portugal are mine. I'm RPing it now, what makes this an official claim on the aforementioned nations. And earth 5????

Two days later...

The coast of spain was 3 miles away and the small landing craft plowed through the rough sea towards the coast. Verbotten Luftewaffe's authority dissapeared and a complete break down of social order was at hand. The troops decided to go to Holy Panooly's colony of Portugal, the last bastion of civilization in the Iberian Peninsula. Chellis was looking for expansion in Morocco and Gribraltar; none could confirm this. The rest of the troops soon arrived on the abandoned coasts of Spain. Not a single sign of resistance, it seemed if the people were happy to see civilized eyes in the many years under Verbotten Luftwaffen rule. No sign of Chellis. The Macabees also landed on Spanish and Portuegese soil weeks ago. The city of Lisabon laid in ruin... The people of this pitiful country were still shocked and large pieces of land were occupied by Guffingfordian troops while The Macabees were fighting. The northen shores were under Guffingfordian control after 3 weeks of expeditions. Because The Macabees made short work of the defensive forces no real opposition was encountered.

Five days later...

Sevillia has been spotted. This ancient symbol of Christan might fell after a civillian militia surrendered to a regiment of 1500 men. The beautiful Morish palaces still had the same grandeur as hundreds of years ago. This would become the capital of Guffingfordian Spain. Without anyone being sure of Chellian presence to the south nobody went there just to be sure. If war would erupt now then the whole plan might fall into pieces. The Macabees were still busy taking care of the small armies trying desperately of holding their land. The ink is drying on the newly drawn maps of Europe, and the fate millions people sealed.

OOC: Earth V, I kid ye not. It's a bit odd really. Anyway, if I can't take part due to Earthing issues that's fine, and sorry for taking up space.

“Well it seems that Guffingford has decided to march through Western Germany. Generals, what are our options.”

“Obviously we cannot resist them, there already inside Western Germany, However what if we join them. My Fuhrer, you sent an entire army into Western Germany not that long ago, you have yet to deploy it.”

A second general rose from the table outraged at this possibility. “Are you serious, this war could escalate into a full blown world war, there is no way we should assist those religious fanatics in this. I say we keep out of it. Warn the population that those who join this,… this “Crusade” will have their assets removed and immediately imprisoned for treason. Getting involved will only cause more trouble than it is worth.”

“Surely Russian Forces has something to say about this? What is the status of their armed forces?”

“Mein Fuhrer, Russian Forces being a communist nation, has no care for the troubles of the holly land, their military is only on an increased alert, However our population does consist of a Christian majority. Most priests and Bishops are crying out for the state to aide Guffingford in its quest.”

“We cannot sit back and do nothing. Has Palpatine Industries begun sending shipments of supplies and arms to the Crusaders?”

“Our last reports indicate so. The last shipment consisted of several million tonnes of grain, water, food and other supplies. They have also begun dispatching tents and blankets for them in West Germany.”

“What is the current status of our assets in West Germany?”

“After the war with Austar Union and it’s subsequent destruction we have had a consistent standing army in West Germany of 1.2 million men, that is inclusive of tank divisions and air force personnel.”

“And the army recently dispatched?”

“The armed forces and naval fleets recently dispatched would increase the military to a fighting force of 1.6 million men.”

“If Guffingford does invade France (Chellis) and that appears more than likely from all accords, Unified Sith must make some territorial gains.”

“Are you proposing that we assist Guffingford?”

“Indeed generals, I am.”

“However, will the treasury be able to cope with this?”

The Chancellor horrified of the soon to be great spending orgy looked at the political leader in dismay. “With our recent plunders in Japan, the treasury is more than capable of financing this war. However if we do this, the refit on Sargoth Isle will have to be postponed by a year.”

“A necessary sacrifice, no attack is expected upon Unified Sith in that time. See to it. And someone get a diplomat from Guffingford over here now. I wish to discuss with their government their plans and our place in them.”

“However generals, if Guffingford does attempt to take West Germany you know what to do?”

“The devices have been placed Mein Fuhrer. West Germany if attacked will be reduced to ash in a cloud of nuclear vapour.”

“Excellent. This meeting is terminated.”

Official Statement From the Office of the Defense Minister

Due to the current state of affairs in Europe and the potential threat to both Chellian France and Hamptonian Denmark, this Government has raised all of our Military Forces in Denmark to Threat Condition Delta. Until such time as this Government decides that the situation in Europe has diffused itself, the Royal Armed Forces of Hamptonshire and the Danish Self Defense Forces will close all boarders of the Protectorate Kingdom of Denmark.

Furthermore as an ally of the recently dissolved Government of Verbotten Luftewaffe, the Chellian Government, and the People of Spain and Portugal units of the Royal Marines and Royal Army Airborne Force have begun securing northern Spain for the good of the Spanish People and for the good of our Allies past and present.

Chellis would like to state we are not interfering in Spain, just Gibraltar. We have put temporary troops in all VL territories except for Spain and Portugal, and have no plans to interfere there.

Lieutenant General Jason Pintar, a soldier's general with a reputation for caution, was appointed by Defense Minister Lord Rosecrans to command all Hamptonian forces on the Iberian Peninsula. General Pintar was charged with holding Northern, Eastern, and Southern Spain for Hamptonshire. While he only had 85,000 Royal Marines and Paratroopers, within a few days hundreds of thousands of troops from Hamptonshire and Cameroon would arrive to reinforce Spain.

Above the landscape of the countryside of Pais Vasco, General Pintar busily looked over documents given to him by Spanish Intelligence officers while on the helicopter flying toward the 36th Air Assault Division's Field Headquarters. He has just arrived in Spain from a transport off the northern coast of Spain. Times were difficult, and a feeling of nervousness and anxiety could be sensed throughout the ranks.

"Were in a tough spot here, Ted." General Pintar says to his Adjunct, Major Ted Williams.

"Yes, sir. At this moment we only have 85,000 boots on the ground from Northern Spain to the Balearic Islands." Major Williams said while writing a report.

"I've been given assurances that we'll have another quarter million men within days and the Royal Navy is moving preparing the deployment of 3 Fleet Squadrons during this Crisis." Pintar said as the helicopter began to descend.

"I'll feel better once we have more men and the Royal Navy has our backs." the Major said while handing him a dossier. "Remember General, you are meeting a group of Basque politicans, you have to treat them as a seperate people."

"I know, if it wasn't for the spectre of an invasion, they'd probably want to seceed from Spain, but 'tis the twists of fortune that shape the future." General Pintar said while preparing to exit his transport chopper.

When the chopper landed, General Pintar and Major Williams made their way toward the meeting center-- a non-descript hanger in a small Spainsh military fort. While the Hamptonians were making headway in getting the Spanish and Catalonian officials over to their side, getting Basque officials to cooperate was proving to be a delicate task.

IDF fleet Headquarters, Tel Aviv, IDF.

"Sir," began a very uneasy Captain Josh Taylor. Josh was the Fleet Admiral's J-2 Intelligence Officer and he had never had to reveal such bad intelligence in his career. "Chellis leaders have reason to believe they may be under attack. We are very close to our NATO ally."

"I think I see how this is going," said Fleet Admiral Joseph Jacobs, the IDF Navy's 1st and only O-11. He was the veteren of many sea wars and led where any good commander led, in the front with his men. He was use to travelling with the fleet on his flag ship, the USS OZZIE GUILLEN.

"I'm sure you do Sir," answered Capt. Taylor. "Well President Williams wants us to aid our ally so we are to send most of the Mediterranean fleet to the Western Med and North Atlantic off the coast of Africa and the North coast of Spain."

"Fine," said Jacobs. "I'll lead once again from the Guillen while I have Admiral Ronberg take some ships from his Southern fleet up to cover the Eastern Med and our coast."

Capt. Taylor left and was replaced by the J-3 Operations officer Rear Admiral (Lower half) Pinkas Hashuaritz.

"How are you Admiral?" Hashuaritz asked as he entered the room.

"Just fine Pinkas," Jacobs said. "I assume you have been briefed on the situation."

"Yes Sir," Pinkas replied.

"Well I want you to cancel all leaves, the AF, and army are doing the same. Get the ships ready to get underway at a moments notice. I want some fleets to the Central Med to await orders."

"Yes sir."

OOC: Western Asia hasn't been too active in RPs that I've seen recently. I'll RP Israel since I own Israel, the West Bank, Gaza Strip, and Sinai Penninsula (pretty much Israel's post six day war borders).

OOC: I encourage people not of RL nation claims to RP here, because I am RPing with Guffingford, when I dont actually accept his claims of West Africa, Spain/portugal, or Benelux. I'm gonna be a good sport about this, which is unusual for me, as some of you older nations might know.

OOC: Also have to agree more or less here, Guffingford's "Conquest RPs" consist of one or two posts without a chance for response and HP is accepting his claims a bit too eagerly.

The trucks rolled across the Franco-Spanish border, all covered up and trying to be as secrative as possible. They carried a number of Mistrail SAMs, and Milans mounted on the backs of trucks or on top of VAB's, mostly for short-range defense. Mostly Algerians and Frenchman, these soldiers wore the outfits of the French Foreign legion, though their uniforms carried the Chellian Emblem Du F, and the Chellian Volksjaeger symbol. Most of them had a large V on their jackets as well, signifying they were Volunteers.

They headed to the Hamptonshire lines, constantly watching but trying not to shoot unless severly ambushed. They comprised of a fast moving supply line, though these forces had no armour support, with VABs and Trucks only taking up their gas. They were to supplement the Hamptonshire troops, not fight.

OOC: Who owns what in Spain? Hampton where did you wrote you took them (and the Baleares are already claimed by someone else, mind you) The Macabees is raging through the country, I'm taking land, Chellis takes Gribraltar... Please state what you have and keep the OOC chat to a minimum.

My Lord, Hamptonshire seems to be coming in too. I urge you to start taking Portugal as a whole, and the southern coast of Spain. We have a large expeditional force in Portugal, I suggest we should moblize them and conquer Portugal.

The armies in Germany must go to Dr_Twist's harbours in Greece, ship and head for the eastern Spanish shores. When we have those, we will decide what to do next. (OOC Twist gave me permission for this)

Very well. Wire a telegram to the forces in Portugal to take the land and cut down all opposition without mercy. When they're done, let them march along the coast and isolate the Chellian presence in Gribraltar.

Sir we have an army in Sevillia... They are withour work at the moment but I think...

Don't think, we need to look ahead. Do not fight Chellian troops. The Macabees have done their job by taking down all defensive structures of both countries. There's no time to waste my dear collegues.

Guffingfordian troops have occupied the previously anarchaic states of Spain and Portugal. This liberation of years of oppression and fear have came to an end. Our forces have been active in securing the land, and apprehanding criminals to ensure the safety of the locals. At this very moment, our glorious armies have taken the Holy Site of Santiago De Compostela. President Ferrad asked all other nations involved not to touch this House of God. Portugal, Galicia, Asturias, Extremadura and various other small provinces* are now part of the glorious Christian Empire of Guffingford.

* are Huelva, Sevillia, Cordoba, Granada, Almeria, Malaga, Jaen, Murcia, Caceres, Badajoz, Salamanca, Zamora and Cantabria.

OOC: As i remember you claim of Denmark was not even that. Guffingford goes in with masses of troop into wartorn countries so there is no way they could stop him. If someone oblects then they can use military force. Just because Guffingford is taking lots of land doesnt mean it isn't legit. Loads of nations are now getting claims, if you notice Giffingfords claims are localised so hes not making that musch of an impact on the rest of the world.

IC: The screens on HMS Jabbawocky flickered as they recieved intell on the current situation in the Iberian area. Along side the Jabbawocky steamed the rest of her carrier battle group and on each flank of the group were a Battle group. The Macha Battleships and their commands guns ready to do their task with deadly efficiency. An update came in, another fleet like theirs was to join them in the English channel and a third was to proceed to the south coast of Portugal. Their orders were to stop any Hamptonshire shipping en-route to Spain.

In the Huzeny colony of Eritrea, missile batterys and B-52 squadrons readied to stop any Chellian or Hamptonshire shipping that would try to go through the suez canal. Hydrofoils were launched from the coast and began running up and down the coast while radar stations and sattelites kept a check on all shipping approaching the route to the canal.

In Svalbard 2 battlegroups that were stationed their prepared to further harass Shipping from Hamptonshire that would go around Great Britain to avoid the channel. They had not recieved the order to ship out yet but they were all expecting ti sooner or later.

The Federation of Morathania is warning the nation of Guffingford not to attack Chellis occupied France or Hamptonshirean occupied Denmark. If you continue with your plans to attack the sovereign territory of these two nations I can assure you that the entire NATO and Victoria alliances will come to the aid of these two nations. I suggest that you cease your operations against Chellis and Hamptonshire or NATO and the Victoria Alliance will be forced to get involved.

In response to recent declining situation in Europe the Federation of Morathania is increasing its active army troop strength from 235,000 to 375,000, increasing the naval strength in the area by sending the 9th Fleet into the North Sea to meet up with the 24th Surface Strike Force out of Bergen. We are also sending another 50 aircraft to the RMAF Base at Gothburg in Southern Sweden. A detachment of the 3rd Marine Expeditionary Force will also accompany the fleet to the North Sea.

We once again call on Guffingford to cease their offensive actions against my allies or face the consequences of facing two large alliances and many friendly nations. We hope that this situation can be resolved peacefully.

Sir we don't know who lied to him but at least the enemies in this sector think it's ours now... For now. News like this spreads like a rash. Call the troops in Portugal and airdrop them in Cordoba, Granada, Almeria, Malaga, Jaen and Almeria. I need lots of men for this mission.

Staff sargeant, wire a message to the transport ships going from Dr_Twist NOT to land on the shores of Catalunya. Hamptonshire is located there. The MUST land in Alicante and Valencia. When they do we have two big cities in our hands. MOVE IT.

Four hours later the paratroopers were dropped from the many airplanes who took off from Portuguese airports. Exact numbers weren't given but at least five thousand were dropped to secure the largest cities of the provinces. There was little to no fights only people protesting about the 'invasion' and the harsh actions by The Macabees. The situation was still very risky since a real force wasn't established there and Hamptonshire dangerously close. In the coming days more troops were shipped in and the Holy Armies coming from Dr_Twist were approaching the Spanish shore...

Fleet Vice Admiral Thomas Ayers pased the Command Center of this flagship. As the senior Royal Navy officer in Europe, he was given the responsiblity to protect Denmark, Spain, and all the international seas inbetween. However, since this is a major event and Guffingford has no signs of 'staying put', the Grand Duke has allotted a major portion of the Royal Navy to defend Europe. Three Fleet Squadrons, 600 warships plus their supporting vessels, were already in place or en route.


The 21st Fleet Squadron's (200+ vessels) area of operations is the North Sea and the waters around Denmark. The 45th Fleet Squadron's (200+ vessels) area of operations includes the English Channel and the shipping lanes around Great Britian. Finally, the 87th Fleet Squardron operates off the Northern Coast of Spain and Western Coast of Chellian France. The 87th is also charged with supporting the actions in Spain.

General Pintar gathered together most of his senior commanders to review the situation.

"Good news is that we've solidified our control of the areas that we told Guffingford to stay out of. With the Chellian troops and the 300,000 reinforcements we've go in, we're dug in and ready to defend."

"Attack Helicopter and Forward Operating Fighter Wings have been established and positioned in strategic areas. That combined with the missile and fighter projection power from the 87th Fleet Squadron will give us near total air superiority over most of Spain and any open advances from opposition forces will be met with a hail of fire." Major General Doveral commented as she poured herself a glass of water.

"Alright, send the orders out-- Hold the line and push back anyone who comes into our sectors." General Pintar reluctantly said while looking at the less than favorable position on the map.

An envoy walked quickly down a long woode-pannelled corridor inside Admiralty Arch, his sword swishing backwards and forwards in its scabbard as he walked. He was a Horseguard, and so wore a Napoleonic-stlye uniform in red and Royal Purple, with gold tassels. He also wore a brass plated helmet bearing the Seal of the Horseguards' Regiment. He had his left hand on the hilt of his sword and his right cusped over a folder full of official documents. He turned a corner, knocked three times on the wood pannelled door in front of him, and then entered,

"Sir, I carry imporant documents for your immediate attention." The man in the chair behind the large oak desk in front of him was Grand Admiral Marcus Polanux. He was around 60 and had grey hair. He looked up with a start. He looked reprovingly at the man standing in front of him,

"So now Horseguards tell me what is and what isn't deserving of my attention, eh?" The envoy looked lost for words for a few moments, and then said quickly,

"No, sir. I come directly from the War Office. They say these documents are important, sir."

"Do they indeed?" said the Grand Admiral, fixing the Horseguard a long, hard stare, "Pass them here then."

The envoy walked forwards and deposited the folder on the desk. Polanux looked down at the folder in front of him, and saw it was closed with the wax Seal of the Imperial Eagle, the Seal of the Praetonian State itself. At last he realised what the contents of it might be, "That will be all," he said, not removing his gaze from the now open folder and the documents inside. The Horseguard saluted, turned and walked out in silence.

"Important Documents for the Immediate Attention of the Naval Commander in Chief... Possible Declaration of War Imminent..." he read half-aloud. He read through the pages and pages of official notes and draft orders, and finally came to the last piece. It was written on exceptionally fine paper by the hand of the Prime Minister. "The Cabinet has ordered the immediate deployment of naval assets the English Channel, North Sea and Arctic Ocean regions. Declaration of War against Guffingford is an imminent possbility. Invasion of Europe is an imminent possibility."

The Grand Admiral dropped the paper onto his desk, lost for words. 'This has come out of nowhere' he thought. Then his thoughts turned to Hamptonshire and how they were going to drag Praetonia into a war that was nothing to do with her or her assets. The Grand Admiral greatly disliked Hamptonshire and in turn disliked Prime Minister Sarius Publius for attempting to recover diplomatic relations after the Nova Excelsior incident.

"Augustus!" He shouted, hoping his voice would carry to the Admiral in the next room. Admiral Augustus Tiberius did hear the shout and came in through the ajoining door. He has about 42 years old and very lively.

"What is it, Marcus? Has something happened?"

"Oh yes, Augustus. Oh yes."


Official Statement, Imperial Government

The 1st and 2nd Imperial Fleets, to be lead by the Freedom Class Pocket Superdreadnaught PWS Sarzonia are being deployed to the English Channel area, along with elements of the 3rd and 6th Destroyer flottilas. The 8th and 10th Imperial Fleets, to be lead by the Freedom Class, the PWS Praetonia, along with elements from the 4th Cruiser Squadron and the 9th Escort Carrier Squadron are being deployed the the Arctic Ocean and the area of water North of Scotland. The 5th and 9th Imperial Fleets are being deployed to the Baltic Sea, along with elements of the 7th, 8th and 9th Cruiser Squadrons.

All nations involved in the current tensions should bear in mind that Praetonia is not currently at war with any involved parties, that Praetonian ships will remain in International waters and that they will not fire unless fired apon. We hope that no unneccessary hostile acts come to pass against our fleets, as such action will lead to the deployment of yet more naval resources against the offending nation.

I dont recognize HP's claims, he put me on there so I helped him get my Sphere of control correctly. I am roleplaying here as a courtesy, not because I have to, and I am accepting land claims that I actually don't. The Morathanian 2nd fleet and the Morathanian 4th Fleet set sail for the North Sea from Johnstown Naval Base. Their mission was to patrol the area and keep an eye on the situation in Europe. The Admiral in charge of both fleets, and also all Morathanian naval elements in the North Altantic (primarily the North Sea), is Admiral Anthony McGregor. His official title is Commander Morathanian Forces North Atlantic (ComMorForNorthLant).

The Morathanian Senate also voted in a 76-24 vote that due to the increasingly disturbing events in Europe the amount of Army and Air Force personnel is to be increased an an additional 225 planes of the RMAF will arrive in Southern Sweden to defend Morathanian territory in the event of an attack. An additional 150,000 men of the 6th Army Corps are being deployed to Finland and Sweden to complement the 350,000 men currently stationed in those two countries.

"No sir, we are fully capable of doing both at the same time," Alexander's question had introduced a small amount of timidness into the analyst, he was after all a small cog in a room of the biggest of the big cogs that made the Imperium run.

Emperor Alexander I Larsen nodded and made a dismissive gesture towards the door, "Very well, you may leave." Next he turned towards his War Council to find not one even vaguely neutral face, "So, recommendations?"

With a snarl and an uncharacteristically heavy brogue, General Ainsley MacLeod snapped, "Blow the Sassenachs off the face of the Earth."

"Surely you are not advocating that we use nuclear weapons against them when they haven't even yet invaded any territory under the jurisdiction of Hamptonshire?" Emperor Alexander I asked.

"No," General Torstenssen answered for the hotheaded women of Scottish lineage, "she's advocating making the death of Guffingford as slow and painful as possible. I agree wholeheartedly."

The deliberately calm manner in which that statement was delivered did nothing to soften the sheer menace of it and the feral gleam of the other officers in the room made it perfectly clear that Guffingford's annihilation would be absolutely excruciating if they had anything to say about it. The Emperor, with a hard look in his eye and a glacial smile, nodded and said, "Very well, we'll see what the rest of the OMP has to say about that. If we're lucky they'll agree."

The Island of Rose has known of the situation in Europe for while, but hesitated to participate. Now, after the Parliament voted 345 to 255, the Island would participate.

The docks were busy with activity, five entire fleets, being loaded with the 7th Army, another war for the Island of Rose, which didn't happen often. Well not a war, but more of an aid. The problem would be, how to explain to the International Community, which is how NATO would come in. NATO seems to have a clause in the charter, a Defensive Boost Package. This would be the preface.

The Admiral, a Rosin von Rickenshap, a German Rosian, would lead the fleets. The Field Marshal, an Alexander Talis, would lead the 7th Army. Of course, this will be in conjunction with Praetonian, Hamptonian, Morathanian, and Chellian forces. So it would be yet another coalition in the march to defend Europe. Oy, the keg would explode soon, but the Rosians wanted to be there when it did.

Woosh, that sound of water going against metal as the fleets left. Inside those fleets, young men joining to support the Island whenever need be. They didn't plan to stay in the Army forever. Even worse, it was not a drafted army, the Armed Forces are compiled of volunteers. But that's besides the point, they would head towards the English Channel to support NATO forces.

And so the fleets went, towards the English Channel, in which they would arrive in a few days.

OOC Actually, considering NS Earth is either (a)multiplanar (ala Amber) or (b) the size of Jupiter, any RL nation claims or attempts to "no, I own that" are relatively pointless.

Just punch it all up to a good ole fashioned knock-down and drag-out. Worrying about maps is the way to pure insanity. And on that note.

General Riva Sola al-Din considered the coded telex before her. Hard encryption and a metaphoric code made it impossible for anyone to understand the gibberish the code would turn into, even if properly deciphered without a proper code book - and there were only two of them in existance.

Fifteen regiments of Vastivan Mechanized Airborne troops were now in Chellis, along with six of her MASH battalions, all attached to Chellisian command - and all flown in on what looked like civilian VAL 74SLs. IC: The HOT launcher was firmly placed in the ground, in a small alcove in front of the Trench lines, behind the mine fields. Jean looked through the sights; saw the outlines of some small Belgian city and its buildings.

He was patted on the back. He looked back, and saw some nameless Private. "Sarge, I'm assigned to this weapon..." He said, as Sergei got up from his crouched position. He gave the Private a small salute, and climbed out of the trench. Night was quickly falling, and he was one of the lucky few who actually got to sleep in a decent house.

He dropped into the trench lines, and began making his way back to where the artillery was stationed. He was in a way proud of these defenses. He was one of the men who had set up the Mozambique-Zimbabwe defenses, and he had had much less time then. Lines of trenches, supplemented by many artillery pieces, AAA pieces, and ATGMs. Their own artillery was camoflagued, and so as far as he knew, they were pretty same from artillery from the other side, which was his main concern. A few scout parties had gone forward through the mine fields, the last night, and found artillery targets, though mostly buildings and barracks, etc. They were relying on recent Belgian maps, mapping out the cities and villages, and even roads this way, so the air force would have some immediate targets when push came to shove...IF it did...

Sergei reached their artillery position. Camoflagued 75mm, and 120mm guns sat in small alcoves. Many were empty, incase they were fired upon, many would be pointless successes for the enemy. He also noticed a number of Antigone 155mm mobile artillery cannons in the distance; Ready to move as soon as ordered, to their designated spots for bombardment. Between ATGMs, Artillery, and AAA, it seemed that no one would be able to make it past the minefields, much less the division. However, that would probably be up to the airforce more than him.

He headed to his quarters; tomorrow would be a long day, he had some Belgian citizens who had fled from Belgium, who could tell them a few things they had seen about Guffingford movements...Not much, but anything helped.

It has also been noticed that many of Granzi's allies have been forced into this conflict, having come under direct assault to either their physical possessions or interests. We hereby condemn these actions taken by Guffingford and her allies. While we would press for a diplomatic solution, this situation has been taken beyond that point by the fore-mentioned nations.

It is unfortunate, then, that we can not ourselves aid our allies in their time of need. It is something that the Commonwealth deeply regrets. We will however lend our moral support to Hamptonshire, and those rising to their aid. May the sun be to your backs, and victory be yours.

Secret Attachment

While we can not aid militarily, we do have something which can be to your advantage. We relinquish control of Arrecife Naval Base, located on Isla Lanzarote in the Canary Islands, to allied control for the duration of the war. Sufficient berthing and logistical equipment for two battlegroups will be available, as well as a double-runway airfield adjacent to the harbor. Also under your disposal will be several military complexes, able to house six full divisions and their heavy weaponry.

Gibraltar is also under Granzian control. We maintain only a small garrison on the island, but there are no less that 5 airfields clustered around the central ridge jutting into the peninsula. All military resources there will be placed to your discretion. Good luck.

"Yeah, I just saw it," the other said as he took a sip from his coffee. "The situation seems to be jumping up almost instantly. I personally don't know what the government will do, but the Admiral had just told me something about him having to go back to 'Ansore. It could probably even involve us as well, and court duy would be probably be temporatorily passed to those at the Army. Yeah, Army."

Inside the Security Council meeting, the climate was tense all around the sealed-off room. Everyone was here - the President, the Premier, the whole Cabinet - save the Culture Minister - and even some PMs. They had been talking about the developments with for Guffingford for hours already. Some argued that they should stay back because for stability, while some pointed out that the Omzian government has an obligation to ensure the stability of its allies, while others have been coming up with even more radical suggestions. But whatever the suggestions might be for each, they all commonly felt that they are coming towards an end to make a conclusion before the Senate receives the request for a possible deployment of troops.

"Premier, sir, we need a recommendation now," Major General Goranos from the Omzian Ministry of National Defence has finally broke the seconds-long silence inside the relatively roomy place, guarded by security guards. "I personally suggest that we take action. This situation is already sinking sinking towards a place where it couldn't be healed, and for the sake of stability, I personally suggest that we deploy forces with the other OMP members to try to at least convince Guffingford to not continue this foolish act. This will be most possibly turning to a point where our ally's sovernignity would be rudely violated." He spoke in a most serious manner, and all other people in the room understood the importance of the crisis. "We only need you and the President to make the recommedation, so that the Senate could get this going."

"Well, I'll have to agree with you here," Premier Nonare said as he looked at both the General and the President. "But the problem here is that this will involve two fronts. One in the Scandinavian region, and another at Spain. This will be a complex operation if we go all out, and considering our armies has been gearing towards homeland defence, our power projection capabilities right now is still limited to an extent. We are sure that tehre will be sufficent friendly forces in both fronts, but Minister Ukan from Internal Affairs has already showed us that this peasant army of Guffingford's is posing a strong threat to our ally's interests at both regions. I suggest we take action, and if we do, I'd suggest that we focus on the southern front of Spain, and when sufficent forces are available, we also assist in the operations at Denmark."

Even though I personalyl hope that stability can be reached, it's clear to us that this situation isn't going anywhere else except going down. Through this operation hopefully we, as a nation, can both assist in keeping our allies' interest stable as a part of the alliance we are in, and to get the crisis over with in a quick - yet not being aggressive - manner. It is in our interests to use the presence of military force to try, with the assistance of our allies, keep the situation down, and if Guffingford won't back down, it is also in our interests to restore peace as soon as possible. They knew that with the approval among the President's Cabinet and those at the OHDF High Command, all they need is the President's agreement.

IC: Once landed, the Vastivan FRAM (Fast Response Airborne Mechanized) regiments sped towards the south-eastern border of France and Spain. Each trooper was already a natural mountaineer, skill borne and honed in the hyperhurricaine winds of the Antarctican region.

To these troops, the relative calm here made it a cakewalk.

They wasted no time setting up everything from SAM ambushes and protect zones to radar decoys and multi-unit systems. Supply lines were laid, supply areas protected with interconnected fields and multiple zones of SAM and MTHAL sites.

Defensively, the troopers laid everything from good ole fashioned TNT deadfalls and avalanches, to hidden minefields and interlocked artillery KZs.
"Shoot and Scoot" lances of Nekku-11 and Nekku-14 helicopters awaited the signals to launch against tanks or air units, and HALO choppers waited at predetermined areas for quick resupply.

Anyone attempting to come through was in for one hell of a greeting.

It won't spread completely to the Indian Ocean, but you will be of help to us. Huzen Hagen controls Eritrea and will shut down the Red Sea and Suez Canal. I will need help to make sure he doesn't succeed.

The series of data communications with the rest of the OMP on the subject of strategy had solidified a strategy for the Imperium. Commandant Natasha Kerensky was presenting the hastily put-together strategy, "Early on this will be a Marines, Navy, and Air Force combined operation, if necessary the Army can get in on the act later. While I'd love to send our fresh troops into combat, this isn't the enemy to send green forces against. Instead, our 3 veteran cavalry corps will be stationed in Denmark while two armoured and one mechanized infantry division will go to Spain. General McLeod, can you airlift that many divisions and their equipment?"

Ainsley grinned, "Oh, aye, we can. In less than thirty-six hours, too. The smartest thing the Imperial Air Force ever did was build up a huge airlift capability."

Kerensky nodded, "Good. What about you, Admiral Tzu? How fast can your ships get to Europe?"

The small, at least by Scandavian standards, Chinese man gave a small smile and said, "About a week. The Imperial Navy doesn't have the luxury of craft that move at several hundred knots per hour, at least not where my ships are concerned. All told there will be two Expeditionary Fleets deployed to Europe, one for each area of operations that directly concerns Hamptonshire."

The Emperor cut in and said, "Good, get it written up and let the Grand Duchy know what to expect."

"General, our fleets are in place. We have as undersea assets 300 submarines deployed in five fleets of sixty each. One in North Atlantic, one in South Atlantic, one in Mediterranian, one in Indian Ocean, one near Denmark. In addition, our VCL liner has enabled us to shadow in four submarines into the Gulf itself, where they are lying in wait for an attempt to seal the Gulf by Huzen Huzen forces.

"In addition, our FRAM troops report ready for action on the south-eastern part of the border between Spain and Chellisian France."

She nodded. "They have the T-105s?"

The aide nodded. "In addition to the T-105 light tanks, they're also going to be using the Nekku-11 and -14 helicopters with AAM and ATGM or HOT pods attached. The HALOs are set to resupply and reconfigure as needed, and we have SAM and MTHAL assets protecting our supply lines and bases. Listening posts, false and "broadcast only" radar units are set; several areas are under remote surveillance and set to create ambushes and avalanches."

"What if they decide to use WMDs?"

"Chemical and Biological weapons are near useless given the climate and terrain, but each W-fleet has one SSBN attached, if far removed from the conflict zones and at depth. If Guffingford ups the stakes, we'll use CLOVER protocols on them and end this quickly."

Just to head off possible arguements later.

OOC: Anyone realize that Guff hasn't even been on in 10 hours? Ahh well...

IC: The truck rolled through the streets of Rouen, on their way to their defensive positions on the Belgian border. The French division in the city had been recently defeated, and so they felt it was relatively safe in the city. Guns weren't, for the most part, at the ready. They mostly relaxed, trying to enjoy France until they reached their posts.

Francois stood, looking out the window of his apartment. He watched as the evil invaders of their nation moved through his city, to try and kill more innocents. He had lost his wife to these pieces of...merde. He flipped open his cell phone, dialed a number, and gave a single code-word.

An Eryx struck a Nilsar. The projectile hit the top of the tank, and it blew up with much intensity. Gunfire began to ring out from various windows, striking the Chellian convoy. A soldier picked up an RPO-A and fired it at an apartment building; the top began collapsing in on itself. A few men began firing at the French rebels, as the convoy began speeding up to get out of the area. A couple of tanks and trucks were destroyed; Small attacks like this were common in "danger zones" Like Rouen, Nancy, Toulouse, etc.

The by now four fleets arrived in Northern Spain. Transport ships from the large ships were being loaded with 64,000 men in total. And that was the infantry. Tanks, artillery, and other things were being loaded. Though, this would take a long time to do, due to the fact that it's so much. But it would be done.

A Field Marshal Alexander Talis was in one of transports. He looked at the waves splashed against the metal. He sighed. Next to him was a Major.

"Sir." The Major said. "We have arrived in Northern Spain."

Alexander sighed. "Excellent. Finally, we have arrived. Now, they told us to land men in Northen Spain, along the French border. That's the mission statement. You're dismissed."

The Major beat his chest once, standard military salute for the Rosian military and left.

Alexander sighed. "Great." He said. "At least if there is war, we might have a chance."

Alexander sighed once more as he saw the waves splash inside his small room. Another day for him, just in another land.

General Pintar was in his office, talking via secure satellite communications, to the Prime Minister. Major Williams quietly waited just outside, anxious to give the General the news.

Turning the video screen off, the General summond the Major.

"Do you have news for me?" General Pintar said while still turned away from the Major.

"Yes, sir. The Rosians have arrived in Northern Spain, the Vastivans and Chellis have arrived in the East. Our men are dug in on the Western and Southern Fronts." Major Williams said as he handed Pintar a file containing orders from Field Marshal Marshall.

With his back still to the Major, Pintar took the file and began reading it.

"Excuse me, sir." Williams politely says.

"What is it, Major?"

"Is there something wrong, General?"

General Pintar dropped the file on the desk and turned around. Major Williams noticed that instead of the 3 stars of a Lieutenat General, Pintar was wearing 4 stars.

"Sir?" the Major asks, dumbfounded.

"Lord Rosecrans promoted me to full General and gave me a Field Commission as a Field General. With all the forces arriving in Spain, the Defense Ministry wanted a 5-star officer in command."

"Congratulations, sir." Williams says while saluting the new Field General.

"Don't congratulate me yet. There's still a lot that can go wrong."

The last meeting with the government people was stressful enough for General Loran, but this time, the planning meeting was even more stressful. Words instantly came out within the government-military circle that the senate has approved the President's request for an authorization of the deployment of forces to aid Hamptonshire in the defence of her territories. Although it is now the High Command's duty to make up a plan for the enlisted, they had the benefit of coordinating with other fellow OMP members in this defensive operation. It would be however, time to make their move on the chess board.

Wearing the two big plates with the four silver stars, plus his great collection of ribbons from the Omzian Homeland Defence War proudly on his chest, he faced other officers from all three major services as they met and talked. Although the adversary's army is a big threat towards the defensive positions we are taking with our fellow allies, the IX and X Corps within our Third Army Group has good plans to resist this great force of theirs."

"So it has been agreed upon," General Loran spoke again. This time, Rear Admiral Norankes, to everyone's shock, agreed to his rival's proposal. "I'd have to agree to this," he moved his lips as others watched. "we could probably use our Marines for the later part of the plan, that is, if we really want to participate in a full scale operation if this thing really sinks to the bottom."

Loran, turning his attention away from Norankes quickly, looked at the Air Force General Voranos instead. "As we already understand, the Navy is going to deploy some of their carrier battle groups and bombardment groups, and the Army is going to deploy their elements from the IX and X Corps," he said with a hint of caution. "How about you people at the Air Force and the Mobility Command?"

Voranos, who has the same rank as Loran does, replied with a sense of loyalty. "Yes, sir," he replied, looking down onto his documents. "The Air Force is preparing to place both tactical and strategic air forces on alert, and the Fifteenth Air Force is chosen to accomplish the task of mobilization. It is our estimation that with our new fleet of PelicanULTRAs and other methods of transportation, the Army elements will be mobilized quickly." He, following Honkar, eyed the Navy and Marine Corps representives again. "It's hopefully going to be much quicker than transportation by sea."

Hearing this, General Loran smiled. He knew that he had accmplished the first task, but he still has a long way to go. "Good, good. Very good. I'll be reporting to the President."

"Aye, aye, sir," Rear Admiral Norankes smiled. The rest didn't know what he was happy about, considering that he is an eager Marine officer. But he had his own purposes.

Scotland is now a part of Hamptonshire. Accordingly Hamptonian Forces will be operating from there. At the moment 3 million Royal Army Soldiers are stationed in Scotland as well as three Fighter Groups, three Bomber Groups, and the Fleet Squadron operating in the North Sea.

In Spain a total of 2 million troops are now scattered among all Guffingford occupied provinces. The troops were ordered not to commit any hostile acts if they faced ANY Hamptonian or Chellian forces.

The whole affair was causing quite a disturbance in Dyelli Beybi. They Dyellian Government was not inclined to support it, although several radical preachers in the mostly Catholic country had begun announcing their agreement with the general sentiments of liberating the Holy Land, however the Cheka were equally quick off the mark, imprisoning anyone who suggested supporting the crusading movement...

But then things changed...

Nations were getting involved that Dyelli Beybi had an interest in, and suddenly it seemed like a good idea to offer some form of support to this crusading army, while not offering too much. President of the Federation Colin Wixted looked at the large situation map in his office. He looked at where his fleets where positioned. Ever since Granzi had offered the use of his base in the Canaries the battle for the south would be much easier. His Minister of Defense walked into his office. He didn't care if George Wilcox didn't have an appointment. Morathania could go to war at any moment.
"What is it George?" asked Colin, slowly.
"Well its with the base in the Canaries. Granzi not only has given us full rights to use the naval base he is also allowing us to use a full airstrip in the area," said George.
"Thats very good. We should take every opertunity that we have. Send a full fighter and bomber wing to Isla Lanzarote and send in a brigade of Marines to the island. We need them to start the Victoria Operation."
George knew what the Victoria Operation was. He slowly nodded.
"I will get right on that sir. We will have enough men, planes, and ships to help our allies in need."
With that he walked out back toward his office. The order was sent. The fighters and bombers, along with the transport aircraft carrying the 175th Marine Expeditionary Brigade left Morathania within three days.

The advisors and generals looked hours and hours at the map of Spain. The whole situation who seemed very movable turned into a stalemate. Hamptonshire and Chellis weren't prepared to make huge sacrifices to gain little land. The Macabees and Holy panooly were close and the massive troop movements of others on the sea worried normally neutral nations.

Deylli Beybi's help of actions in the Holy Land were noted but the real crusade had to be postponed. Too little troops were ready with the mess going in Spain and the internal struggles of the Catholic majority and the Greek Orthodox minority didn't make things much easier. A great boost of morale was the capture of Santiago De Compostella and the conquest in the south. Troops coming from Dr_Twist were due to arrive in a few days raising the stake even more. Everybody hoped Chellis would respond to the message of peace. Everybody was convinced it would turn to nothing, but at least President Ferrad bought some more time.

The soldiers were done unloading, it was a long hard job, but it was done. New orderes came in, sail to England. They would be drifting along the English Channel, God knows why, and they would stay there until further notice.

The ships left from Northern Spain, leaving the soldiers there... alone... without a woman to love them, I mean yeah. The Rosians were spreading rumors that Guffingford was sueing for peace, of course these were rumors that could not be confirmed. Anyway, if it was true, the Rosians can up the pressure.

The 3rd Fleet arrived with the Morathanian Fleet. 16,000 men, gone, just to help one ally. But it was a sacrifice that could prove useful much later.

We can also provide heavy long-range bomber support from bases in the Indian Ocean and Pacific Northwesteria itself, as long as the planes are permitted to land near the theater of operation. That is necessary, because otherwise even long-range bombers would be out of range.
In addition, 200 special ops troops and 20 attack helos are being sent to hold the line in important places. In an emergency, additional ships can be sent quickly from bases in the Northeast Atlantic, but we would much rather not use those.

Our troops are having a ball near the western German border but I believe we should move them to The Netherlands and Belgium just in case. We already have two million stationed there and the construction of the Supremacy Line is nearing completion. The construction of mobile AA missiles, flak cannons and such is almost done. Our troops are ready for battle, if it ever comes to that.

Hmmm... Unified Sith defends the German border and we have to focus on Belgium. NATO and VA are waiting in the North Sea. I'll order the troops to move to the Benelux and enforce the coastal defences in The Netherlands. I want the whole range bunkers and pillboxes to be built. Chellis is willing to start negotiations. However, we will make it clear first and foremost that attacking any of our allies will cause us to act, even in the face of a NAP. If you are still interested, we can send ambassadors into spain, or you can send to Oran. Both would be acceptable by us.

Hamptonshire we're making very reasonable demands here. I see no reason why they should be rejected. We are willing to retreat all military forces from Spain (except a civil guard and policeforces) In order to keep the aforementioned provinces. Portugal will remain ours. This is our final offer. We are not looking for war here, only to unite all major Christian sites throughout the world to ensure and safeguard the safety of our Brothers.

We have heavy defenses being set up, and while the whole area is getting more and more crowded, there will be room.

We need more divisions that can counter-attack quickly, as while our defenses are some of the most capable in the world, a full frontal assault could quite possibly destroy concentrated areas of the defenses.

Sarzonia's newly-promoted Navy Chief Kathy Bunhall listened to the reports of the growing tensions in Europe with frustration. Sarzonia's allies in three major alliances were mobilizing for a massive war while Sarzonia was embroiled in its own military operations.

"I don't know if Parliament's going to get us the votes for full-scale involvement," Bunhall told one of her aides. "As much as I feel the responsibilities of the alliances, we really aren't in position to send a large naval force to the area. We've got our own military priorities that take center stage."

Bunhall called Vice President for Defense John Newman. Little did she know, Newman was already working on the situation.

"John, I don't know what's going on over there," Bunhall said. "I'd love to give you the Third and Fourth Fleets, but you know why the First and Second Fleets aren't available."

"I know, Kathy," Newman said. "I'm asking you to send a few squadrons to the area. Parliament has approved a limited role in the engagement."

"Oh," Bunhall asked, surprised. "I didn't think we would get the votes there."

"We've got too many alliance involvements not to send forces," Newman said. "That proved fairly convincing."

"I see," Bunhall said. I'll send a task force and two squadrons to the English channel. More ships may be available if we need them."

"Good work," Newman said.

I hope so, Bunhall thought as she hung up the phone. Bunhall made the phone call to send the forces to the English Channel.

"John, I've just sent the forces," Bunhall said. "I'll make the Fifth Fleet available if you need it."

"Good," Newman said. "Let's hope that will help."

"Why don't you call Chellis and let them know what we're doing," Bunhall asked."

"Good point," Newman said. "I'll get right on it."

Newman called his counterpart in Chellis on the secure lines.

The whole affair was causing quite a disturbance in Dyelli Beybi. They Dyellian Government was not inclined to support it, although several radical preachers in the mostly Catholic country had begun announcing their agreement with the general sentiments of liberating the Holy Land, however the Cheka were equally quick off the mark, imprisoning anyone who suggested supporting the crusading movement...

But then things changed...

Nations were getting involved that Dyelli Beybi had an interest in, and suddenly it seemed like a good idea to offer some form of support to this crusading army, while not offering too much. They didn't want to annoy the Vastivans too much. After a short debate. A Statement was issued by parliament...

The nation of Dyelli Beybi, while wishing to remain neutral in what may well become a major international incident, wishes to let it be known that we are ready and willing to supply weapons and equipments to all sides in this conflict, apart from to States regarded as a threat to National security. As Dyelli Beybi is not a combatant, we expect that no Dyellian vessels in the area will be fired on.

Chellis is personally saddened by this move. It is Guffingford who has been pushing in spain, and moving men and creating abnormal defenses in belgium. Chellis has had honest reason to worry, and is calling upon its allies to help make sure we maintain our lands. Everything has been sparked by governments such as Guffingford, and others. We are willing to negotiate, but moves like this only provide to create larger tensions.

Secret IC: A huge line of men was seen walking down a large, new highway in Chad. They knew that they couldn't be seen by anyone but chellians; The great thing about strictly closed borders and a totalitarian government. All over Chellian western africa, forces began heading toward Algeria. Allied fleets were already there en masse, including the chellian transportation fleet which had been moving men from Western africa to France. It currently remained docked in ports in Algeria, for the most part. These men knew that Dr.Twist was a dirty liar, so said their officials. They were planning on attacking their great nation, and if such a thing happened, they would be sadly mistaken if they thought italy would any longer be theirs.

Two million from the Southern-France theatre began massing on the Franco-italian border, creating defenses in the mountainous area. They were supported by air forces in southern France, who could act in both Spain and Italy if needed, and large strike forces in Corsica. In addition, there were a few air cavalry divisions already on the border, which could decimate tank divisions; Mountainous areas were a favorite for chellian helicopter pilots. Italy would be a devastating success if attacked; Mountains were superb to defend, and Chellian air forces near Belgium, and near Spain could participate in the theatre as well. They would be slow in moving artillery and ATGM support, but not incredibly...Cargo aircraft were hard at work, the 20,000 in France could move things pretty well.

Secret IC: On the Italian border, huge, empty camps were being set up as well. Many cardboard tanks with fake heat signatures, empty pillboxes painted to look like camoflagued concrete, and many other such fake defenses were being made, mostly in the night and whatnot. With no possibility of satelite or aeriel recon over France, they assumed this would work to make them think they were stronger there. They would have sufficient forces, but it would take a little time to get the defenses set up. For now, they would have to rely on air force support.

Longley received the communicade aboard the ISS Doverham and the Forrest-class fleet carrier which served as the Sarzonian flagship sent the message via the Sarzonian navy's cryptic message delivery system.

The fleet made its course adjustments and sailed toward the North Sea. Two squadrons of fighters took off from the Doverham to provide air cover in a typical Sarzonian precaution.

Langley sat down in the command chair and thought pensively. The Sarzonian military was being stretched thinly. He knew it. Everyone in Navy Command knew it. He hoped negotiations would win out, but he wanted Sarzonia to be prepared in the event war broke out.

Statement from the Supreme Commander, HFET

As is standard military protocol, the Royal Armed Forces of Hamptonshire, and those Armed Forces under its control, shall not engage in any offensive or "First Strike" Operations. We have stablized our lines in Northern, Eastern, and Central Spain and our territories of Denmark and Scotland are under full defensive alert. We will only attack as a result of an attack being launched upon us. The very purpose of the Royal Armed Forces is to end wars, not start them.


The Grand Duchy of Hamptonshire has never started a war; it does not intend to buck that trend now.

The Omzian forces, including those of air and ground baed, stationed at Spain to aid the defensive operations with Hamptonshire operations, pledges to not make any first offensive and/or aggressive strike against Guffingford. Because of this, the Omzian forces will be only engaging in offensive actions in case of a first strike by Guffingford on Hamptonshire Spainish territory. Although we bear the capability to engage in offensive operations against Guffingford forces, we will not, if at all, engage in an offensive operation against Guffingford as a first strike. Therefore, the Omzian forces stationed are only for the defensive operation to protect the Hamptonshire Spain and her other of territories in the region, against possible offensive actions by Guffingford and/or her allies.

The Omzian Homeland Defence Forces, being a stabilizing force whom purpose is to stabilize the situation and to bring up peace whenever possible, has no interest in starting a war with other opposing parties in this crisis. Our only intent is to protect the sovernign territories of Hamptonshire and other friendly forces.

Chellis does not have claims on VL territories. It is as the situation in Cameroon or Sudan is. These nations have foreign troops in them to keep them from being invaded. Chellis has no offensive forces in these nations, as it does in its actual colonies. We wont, and cannot tax them. We wont move citizens in their nations, or close their borders. All of these opposed to what happens in chellian colonies. We even encourage other nations to send troops, to make this a real international effort to keep these lands free, and self-governing.

"Yeah, I know. I don't see why they won't work, but can't be sure of anything. Lets just hope with enough planes, that we can do this well." Willis said, as he began puffing a cigar. Biological warfare wasn't his favorite, but being attacked without cause was less liked.

Things seemed to be hotting up according the Cheka reports on the goings on in Europe... Analysis seemed to indicate Guffingford might be about to get the worst of the situation. Dyelli Beybi had no particular interest in Guffingford, or Chellis for that matter, however other matters lurking just beneath the surface meant they now had a vested interest.

For that reason, the Government owned tank factories had stepped up production. The new vehicles weren't needed for the Province's Army, but were being earmarked for exporting to the 'European Crisis'.

SECRET IC
The completion of the supremacy line from the Dutch border along the Belgian coast to the German border neared completion. The construction of it was started immediately after the Guffingfordian take over of The Netherlands and a frontal assault, like the Maginot Line was almost impossible. The Dutch coast was heavily fortified with bunkers, trenches, cruise missile launchers, anti-aircraft installations, tank divisions and lots of men and equipment.

From little what was known, the attack would be focussed on Belgium. Unified Sith could also jump in if the situation would become hopeless but for all, people still looked for a peaceful ending with Chellis. Every eye in the country was looking at the diplomats who were going to talk to Chellis about the powderkeg Spain.

In an effort to ease the relations between Guffingford and Hamptonshire, we decide to underline our desires for peace and prosperity and our troops in Sith Germany will withdraw 100 miles from the Danish border. The decoy camps have been set up throughout Western Germany with civilians taking the place of actual soldiers, the enemy will find it almost impossible to determine the actual location of our armed forces”

“Well done generals, I will make a statement to the international community re affirming our neutral stance. Order the main army in Freiburg and Munster to stay on alert and have combat readiness increased throughout the general army, I want no failures in this generals, NONE.”

The Fuhrer ascended the stage dazzled by the glare of several large lights and cameras, waiting for his cue he was ready to recite his pre prepared speech.

Having control of central Europe the burden has come to my shoulders to attempt and stop this course to war. As a result I have issued orders throughout Sith military positions not to take any offensive actions. However, all personnel have been instructed to open fire on any unauthorised personnel crossing the now closed border. Unified Sith will remain neutral within this conflict and does not wish any further bloodshed. Do not tempt fate and leave us alone.”

The artillery sections of the twelve divisions headed for Spain had been the first loaded and the first to Spain, whereupon they had immediately set to the border with Guffingford Spain. Of course they did not travel all the way to the border, such would be suicide. No, they formed up roughly 100 kilometers away from the border and began calculating effective firing solutions for the assigned map grids based upon elevation, azimuth, and charge weight. This was work of hours but if, nay, when battle was joined it could the difference between life and death for several thousand Imperial Marines. Of course, Air Defense Artillery, jokingly referred to as Girly Artillery by Howitzer and MLRS crews, did not have to do as much work. No, they simply punched in a few codes and their radars were tracking and their missiles deployed.

Next were the support battalions, although in hindsight they should have been first to deploy. They had the “menial” work of pre-positioning supplies, setting up tents field works, and such. Of course, neither the engineers nor the doctors complained, historically they were the support troops that were right there with the combat troops when the fighting really became down and dirty. The true REMFs, however much they complained about not being an infantryman or tanker, did not begrudge the combat engineers and medics their place on the line, because however well they were trained they weren’t cut out for bloody assaults and hard-fought defensive actions.

Last to deploy to Spain were the infantry in their fighting vehicles, tankers in their 80+ ton behemoths, and helo pilots in their almost hummingbird-like helos. They were the ones who would find the enemies, close with the enemy, engage the enemy, and whatever deity willing, destroy the enemy. All else was, as they say, supplementary.

In Denmark it was much the same, although no border was approached. Instead the companies formed into battalions, the battalions into brigades, brigades into divisions, and finally divisions into Corps. The presence of the cavalry divisions in eastern Denmark was a given, the ability of the divisions to strike into any territory they pleased and the availability of such enemy territory so near to the aforementioned area of Denmark made their positioning a given. All that was left for the deciding was where their displeasure would be felt.

It was noticed, and agreed upon, that the enemy woefully outnumbered the Imperial forces in Hamptonshire Spain. However much the Imperial Marines respected the abilities of the various other non-Imperial armed forces that they were allied to, it had never been their want nor their habit to leave the majority of the fighting to them. Such was rude and inconsiderate, and what was more it did not show any great deal of self-respect. So, an even more massive airlift operation was undertaken. It would start with the airborne corps of the Imperial Marines since they were the easiest to transport and the most able to put a great number of boots on ground and then go from there. How much was accomplished before the fighting started and the establishment of air superiority became necessary to continue transport operations was not known, but if they could pull off another 36-hour miracle it would not matter much.

Leaving their camps set up, partially occupied by the forces still there to give the impression none had left at all, two million men from the Franco-spanish border began moving toward the Franco-Italian border, with cargo aircraft moving them non-stop, very quickly. The fake camps set up earlier would prove to be real camps for them, though the other faked parts would remain, to confuse. However, the heat signatures for the cardboard tanks were taken off....

The troop movements of Scandavian States have not gone unnoticed by the field marshalls. The arms factories in Africa were ordered to produce more artillery for Spain and massive tank shipments were sent to Spain and Portugal. In the interest of keeping the fragile peace in Spain the units were not sent to the front but were kept inside the borders of Portugal. If the peace talks were going to fail, then at least Portugal would remain Guffingfordian.

We will keep watch over our sections of Spain until the peace talks are over.

The situation around and in Hamptonshire, for the Omzian forces, seemed to be extremely tense. Threats of invasion came as the rapid-deployment brigades quickly moved in to situate themselves in defensive positions. As more equipment, such as heavy tanks and artillery, began to arrive with the help of high-tech and high capacity transports, the Omzian troops began to have a increased sense of security. They knew that it was the largest movement ever since the counterattack on Honjaksgrad in the Homeland Defence War not too long ago, so they were fully prepared for it - and for the defensive operations there. Being Omzian soldiers, they would situate themselves along with friendly Hamptonshire and Scandavian States soldiers, in which their technological superiority would hopefully fill the gap left open by the outnumbering of friendly forces.

Aside from the infantry, the field support personnel also knew what they were going to do. The order was driectly sent down to them, for them to stay in the territory and to crush any invasion attempts as possible. Although they knew that there are civilian structures spread across the territory, they had set up their artillery not too far from the mainstay of the Omzian forces. The crews of the towed 105mm guns and the self-propelled 155mm howitzers, quickly got ready positioning themselves as they reviewed over the targeting data. Even the MLRS crews and the people from the SSM battalions, whom has a range superiority (especially for the SSM battalions), had much to discuss abotu where to attack and how to attack.

In the air, it was the same. Just a moment ago, the first F/A-22C was landed with its full rop tanks nearly empty, depelting them as they made their one way trip to Hamptonshire spain. This would be the first of the aircraft that will be flowing into Hamptonshire Spain to conduct both air superiority missions and to provide close air support if the ground forces really do get attacked. The pilots were also a bit worried as they lugged their aircraft alongside with the litres full of fuel, as it would touch down. He only had light armament on his aircraft, but perhaps the shipment of munitions for the Omzian forces there would ease the situation a bit. Even for the interceptor pilots and crews, the situation wasn't a best scenario for them.

War seemed to be creeping closer every moment. Morathanian troops were still massing in Scandanavia. Over 800,000 were in Sweden and Finland. The coalition fleet of Hamptonshire, The Island of Rose and Morathania had arrived in Arrecife on Isla Lanzarote in the Canaries along with the Morathanian marines who were continuing to arrive via plane. The two Morathanian fleets in the GIUK gap and the North Sea were on full alert. War could begin at any moment. Entangling alliances continued to bring more countries into the war. The fronts were quiet but everyone waited for the first shot to be fired.

In Cameroon, Royal Army, Royal Marine, and Royal Police Divisions were on the move. Huge convoys and men and machines were moving north to a point yet to be determined. There had always been a plan in place to defend Cameroon's coast in the event of a possible attack, it was quite possible that plan was now in motion.

The situation in Europe was indeed a threat to Whittier's interests, but the nation had other fish to fry...a possible 2nd war with Al Anbar, the continued spread of two deadly disease among the general population which beginning to turn into a pandemic, and increasing tensions here at home.
However, Mousterian military activation was of grave concern to Whittier since Mousteria was on Whittier's northern border.

The government of Unified Sith should realized while the Pandora's Box program is a Whittier program, we still haven't been able to tell how those two sattelites are hovering over your nation when we issued no such commands to any of our sattelites and we are investigating our own constellation to see if any of our sattelites have moved recently. (They shouldn't have as they should currently be in geostationary orbits.)
We are trying to determine if any of our sats have been hacked into.

OOC: Actually, outerspace is international space. Even the part of it that happens to be directly over a specific nation is international space.

IH troops within Dr_Twist borders, currently stationed there for the security of Dr_Twist have had their alert levels raised to the highest stance since the actual war itself. The 1st Armoured Division has begun maneouvers with recently arrived RF troops as well as Dr_Twist military units.

Three IH carriers in the North Atlantic have begun a speed run towards the Med and two carriers currently in the Arabian gulf have begun moving Northwards to supplement the heavy IH naval presence already in the Med.

President Anderson has said that the threat posed is of greater danger than even the escalating situation in the Middle East, from which naval assets have been moved to the Med. He is also calling on allies around the globe for military assistance in the case of war, and is said to be bringing several treaty commitments into effect.

Official Message from the Government of the Federation of Morathania

Due to the continueing tensions in Europe the parliament and government of the Federation of Morathania has come to the conclusion that more troops must be added to current forces in Europe. An extra 300,000 men will be deployed to Scandanavia while an additional 18,000 Marines will be sent to Isla Lanzarote. Two additional fleets and one Surface Squadron will be sent to the area. One fleet to Isla Lanzarote, another to the Baltic Sea, and the Surface Squadron will be sent to the North Sea and English Channel area. The government of Morathania hopes that peace can stave off conflict in Europe and we hope that all nations can find a way to decrease tensions in the region.

OOC: Total numbers of forces in Europe will be posted either later today or tomarrow. I've just been really busy so if I don't do them right away don't go crazy.

PWS Thunder, Command ship of the Middle East Fleet

Thunder's command room was not the most well-appointed of its' kind. The paintwork was an uniterrupted dull white, with only a portrait of Sergei Gorshkov and the national flag hanging from the same wall. The command room had no windows, and though the bulbs were white light bulbs, it just wasn't quite the same, and the room had a sickly tinge that depressed the spirit when one entered. But the men within it were unconcerned with what it did to the spirit.

Spread across the great metal table at the centre of Thunder's command room was a map, an extremely detailed map of the Mediterranean and the Persian Gulf area. Clustered around this spartan table and the map were ashtrays and mugs of tea and cocoa. The men around the table were the seniormost officers of the Middle East Fleet.

At the head of the table (or it might have been the bottom of it, since there was no way to identify one from the other) stood a tall, spare man, thin and muscled despite his apparent age. His uniform bore the insignia of an Admiral First Rank of the People's Navy, and the name "John Harwood.". He leaned over the map and sighed.
"I don't like this at all," spoke up a younger man, an Admiral Second Rank. "We don't have enough out to strike them hard if things heat up." He sighed again.
"We can't send ships out," replied another Admiral patiently, "because if we do any chance of peace might go out of the window."
"Ach, who really believes there's gonna be peace any more?" snapped a third man. The conversations dissolved into loud arguments at that point. The senior Admiral shook his head slowly and held up his hand. When that failed, he looked up from his peering at the map.
"Would you gentlemen," he asked acidly in a deep baritone, "care to cease pointlessly arguing and instead address the problem at hand?" He looked at the men as they gradually stopped talking and turned back to the map. "Good. Now. What's the situation?" One of the younger men, Admiral Third Rank Dmitri Matchenko, began to outline the situation.
"Well," he replied, the Independent Hitmen presence in the Med is increasing. We currently have enough to make a fight of it with them, but most of what we do have is still tied up in port. Currently Middle East Fleet has 22 nuclear attack submarines and 14 nuclear guided missile submarines available to us. However, all but four of the attack subs are in port. Of the missile subs, there isn't even one at sea. Our--" he was cut off by the fiery young man who had interrupted earlier.
"Exactly! We should get them out!" he exclaimed.
"Hold your tongue! shouted Harwood. "Carry on." Matchenko obeyed.
"Our surface forces are all moored at the moment, every last bit of them, apart from patrol corvettes. I for one think that they're too vulnerable where they are." A chorus of "hmm"s and "yes, absolutely"s ran round the table. Emboldened, Matchenko pressed on. "After all, we can't risk another Pearl Harbour." The mood around the table became grim at that.
"We can't increase the tension any further," insisted another officer. "Deploying our surface forces would be too provocative."
"Agreed, replied Harwood heavily, "but to stand inactive for fear of provoking the enemy, when he is making plans for war, is foolish."
"We don't know that they do plan to start the war," commented Matchenko, adding hastily, "sir."
Harwood grinned. "No need for that. We're all equals at this table. He shook his head sadly. "How did it come to this?"

The discussion went on for some time, and half-way through it was interrupted by an urgent communication from High Command. Following the meeting, however, all 20 of the Fleet's attack submarines left their bases. Six proceeded to the Red Sea. Five moved into the Arabian Sea, and the other nine vessels headed for the Mediterranean. Behind them, 5 Oscar-II SSGNs followed their exit.

-All leaves for members of all branches of the Armed Forces have been canceled.

In the capital of Nicosia, demonstrators burned the Guffingford flag, and a number of youths urinated on the ashes.

Stocks today tumbled down one hundred points on the TSX, but Nysia Armories, the foremost arms manufacturer in Tyrandis, rallied an astonishing two hundred percent.

We have no knowledge of satelites coming toward germany, or any other non-allied european nations. Chellis has no foreign Satelites over its lands, so the satelites couldn't have come from over Chellis. All our satelites are either Communication or Anti-Satelite Satelites(Basically, they send mini-satelites to disable enemy satelites who venture into chellian space). Chellis has not been informed of allied satelites moving over non-allied lands, and doubts its an allied Satelite. If nobody claims them, and you can't get it to respond to communications, we in fact encourage destroying it. We wouldn't want a war to come over UFO's.

The Full chellian navy, or at least most of the transports, have begun moving men and material toward Western africa. About a Million can make it round-trip, and the trip takes about two months from Chellis to Marseilles, or about 7 weeks from Torres. In all, about 20m men are being moved to the theatre, mostly designated to going to Western Africa.

No outside Alliance or Collective of Nations has ever won a War in Europe agenst the Allies. Not even GDODAD during its Prime could beat us. Nations of the World Know we are Just as much of a Military Powerhouse as those of the UA. As Stated Before, We will match any military buildup in Europe on any level. But who ever makes the 1st Strike would be a deadly one. Such a military buildup by NATO countries will not be tolerated by the Continental Empire and the RBA along with it's allies. While we chase a peaceful ending to this crisis in Europe the Continental Empire will demand a total end and dismantling of the current military buildup in the Europe. We will not accept nothing short of that.
We will not moblise any of our military when diplomacy is still possible, but if RF or twist feels they need our aid we will not hesitate to aiding them with our military might.

I think it would make matters simpler if Hamptonshire withdrew from Northern Spain and allowed IN troops to keep a peaceful, happy, free barrier between Guffingford and Chellis. Chellis should also withdraw from his Spanish province in the south to maintain peace.

There will be no Reduction in Arms in Europe, With the Abilities of Europe come the Abilities for the Allies to Strike what is needed Throughout the world.

I am concerned with the growing amounts of troops and forces along the Sith/Denmark border. Though neutral and ever trusting of Chellis Unified Sith is not and does not trust the shady government attitudes of Hamptonshire. There repeated refusal to withdraw and lower forces in mainland Europe and the North sea only furthers our suspicion that they have long intended invasion. As a result Sith forces on the Denmark border have been put on alert for a possible invasion. The coastal defences are now on their highest alert ready for an enemy strike which sadly appears all too forthcoming, even though we are a neutral party.

IH Forces in Dr_Twist will remain on a high alert for the forseeable future.

Earlier you declared Germany's boarders closed and your neutrality in this current situation. If you would have taken such a stand earlier instead of allowing the whims of reckless nations to rule, this situation may not have occured.

Denmark is once again open to commerce from Germany. However, in order to sign an Non-Aggression Pact one of the terms would need to be that no offensive operations attacks aganist Hamptonshire can be launched from Germany. OOC: I wrote a huge post, my power went out, long story short, I moved my forces out of spain a while ago. I only hold the military base of gibraltar, just as other nations have held it while spain existed as a free nation. We don't hold the entire region, the civilian parts aren't under our control. Also, we only have a small number of troops in Morocco, and other old VL territories, and only to keep them free, we don't exert control at the government level. We also are find with small numbers of troops from other nations, even RWC ones, moving into old VL territories(Except Gibraltar, special case). This is to show we are commited to these nations being free, not controlled by chellis.

The contents of the fleet are available for review by any nation simply by hailing the fleet and sending one (1) helicopter with whatever observers and inspectors you wish to send to whatever vessel or vessels you seek to inspect. All our vessels in this fleet have helipads.

They will of course be accompanied by members of the International Press - with cameras - as well as shipboard security upon arrival, but access will not be denied to any part of the ship(s) or cargo(s).

If you were to add a part to the NAP that would be signed by Nations Stating that you know your allies will use Gibraltar to close the straight and blockade it, and even add another part that states if it is used for close the straight it will be seen as a act of war upon the nations of Europe.

We will be fully withdrawing all of our remaing troops from Spain in direct proportion to Guffingford's. These nations should be free of foreign troops until such time as all sides have come to an agreement concerning their future as free and independent nations.

Furthermore, the Permanent Pan-European Non-Aggression Pact, is not a "Hamptonian" Peace, it is a European Peace. Many nations from both sides have indicated their support for it Guffingford. Unless you plan to invade more European territories, you should sign it also.

1) Guff contacts us proposing a way to end our Denmark "stand-off".

The IDF Government strongly condemns the venomous slander of Unified Sith. Clear Radar records and video tapes show that the explosion occured from within the plane.

ISS Halibut runs recon mission

It was a nice warm night. Some people would be enjoying a nice beach party, but is wasn't anything out of the ordinary for an autumn night at Eliat. Of couse something odd was happening, the Halibut class submarine ISS Halibut was preparing for her 1st mission. There were 7 more of the new class of subs in commission, and 6 more nearing completion. In all there were 23 of the flight 1 Halibut's under construction.

It was all done in secret. Under the moonless night at 1:00 a.m., the Halibut cast off her lines from the tug that had pulled her from her moring at the home base for the Red Sea Fleet. After 500 yards under the tug's power, the Halibut's engine started up.

Captain Luis Castillo was on the bridge enjoying what would be his last breath of fresh air for two days. he didn't mind this mission. His mission was to run through the Suez Canal to see if Dr_Twist would enforce the blockade. There was one thing he didn't like about this mission, during the transit he'd have to broach. Subs were meant to run underwater, not on the surface as his mission required. His goal was to be detected if there were other ships out there to see how they'd react.

"Ahead 1/3," called Castillo from the bridge down into the Conn Room. He was flanked by the Chief of the Boat, XO, and Engineering Officer while on the bridge.

"Engine room answers 1/3," called the Engineering Officer of the Watch.

"Clear the bridge, XO," called the CO. "Rig ship for dive."

About 5 minutes later, the Officer of the Deck reported ship rigged for dive.

"Diving officer, flood MBT," ordered the CO. "5 degrees down angle of the fairwater planes, set depth 1-5-0 feet."

"flooding MBTs, down 5 bubble for depth 1-5-0 feet dive aye," called the Diving Officer.

"Dive! Dive! Dive!" yelled the COB into the 1MC as the dive alarms squelched.

once the sub leveled out at 150 feet, Castillo ordered the sub to head down the Gulf of Eliat at 15 knots. Upon reaching the Southern end of the Sinai Penninsula, Castillo ordered the ship to take a course of 355 degrees to head for the Suez Canal. As he tracked North, he went up to Periscope Depth (70 feet on the Halibut).

After 27 hours of steaming, Halibut reached the Southern entrance of Suez. This would be the part of the mission Castillo was going to hate. It was a rule to never run on the surface and he was about to break it, sort of. But, he had his orders and realized he had to be seen for the mission to be successful.

"Conn, up 2 bubble, set depth 0-4-5 feet, broach the sail," called Castillo. "Chief of the Watch, Sound General Quarters!"

"Aye aye, Battlestations," called the CoW. This wasn't unusual, when the sub was to travel into a dangerous situation like this, battlestations were to be manned.

"General Quarters! General Quarters! All hands man battlestations harpoon," called the CoB into the 1MC.

"Raise the ESM mast," called Castillo. He quickly saw that the mast highlighted a few dozen radars. Some friendly and some unidentified. He'd have to wait and see who they were. "Up scope," he said as he stood as the Type-18 scope was raised. The only ships in view were ones of Vastiva's cargo convoy.

OOC: they are continuing North at 7 knots. Detecting them shouldn't be a problem as they are broached, but I warn they are in IDF home waters.
