This is Jason Aiodh, reporting for the Republican News Network.
Today, the RFMC announced the operational status of the first two true "division" sized land forzes within its rosters.
The 1st Infantry and 1st Armoured Divisions completed a series of rigorous joint-training command exercises, breaking up into a variety of brigade sized deployment groups to complete the numerous scenarios High Command had instituted. Both are combined-arms forces, utilising a variety of weapons and war machines to increase their flexibility; however, each is also dedicated to a particular mission.
The 1st Armoured Division is primarily a heavy assault force, meant to engage enemy assets and destroy them with little fear of repurcussion. The 1st Infantry is a security/defence reaction force, meant to hold down and control sectors crucial to battlefield success.
While neither force can boast any of the truly high end advanced armaments that some of the Republic's neighbor states lay claim to, every soldier is equipped with reliable equipment and ample supplies, and is trained to make the most of their weaponry.
The RFMC also supports several other brigades of varying sorts, which have not yet been organised into Divisional heirarchy for a variety of reasons, ranging from incomplete equipment or lack of sufficient training.
In related news, the RNMC announced that it intends to expand the modest fleet of 120 light patrol craft to include five patrol fleets of more modern inspections and customs vessels. The 2 man light patrol craft have recently come under criticism for lack of enforcement ability, and will soon be relegated to a supplementary role with the arrival of the newly formed Coastal Patrol Groups.
