"Lord Harald, your National Security briefing is here."

"Well, what is it?"

"It goes as such. The BSS has picked up intelligence relating to Sinoese and _Taiwanese joint exercises. We have information on where they will be conducting those exercises. Submarines in the _Taiwan strait will moniter naval activities, and agents in Sino should give us a good idea of their tactics."

"Perfect. Who are these agents?"

"They're undercover as Chuang-Han businessmen, and are dispersed throughout. They're 'sleeping' now. We've activated them, with the code words. All they're going to do is report on the activities. Tell us what's going on, and how the Sinoese do their tactics. All will be recorded, sent to agents in Chuang Han, and then smuggled to Bonstocknian bases in Myanmar, from where they will be flown to the BSS."

"Perfect."

Round the clock Sinoese ASW overflights have been conducted. The new targets are obviously not the ROCN now. Submerged, detection probes have indicated Bonstocknian submarines are moving closer into Chinese waters. It will be the General's choice whether warning are to be given.

"Hmmm" Said an undistinguished office worker at the Immigration service in Nanning.

"What is it?" His elderly superior said.

"I just noticed that a Chuang Subject who we issued a Business passport for Corporate travel in Sino about two years ago doesn't have his paperwork in order."

"Oh?" His superior seemed most uninterested.

"His birth certificate seems to have a small error concerning the file numbers..."

"Could be faulty filing on the part of the Hospital where he was born... I wouldn't worry too much." His superior dismissed it.

"All right..." He said, but before he closed out the file on his computer he programmed it in so that where the man used his ID it would automatically report it to him. "I'm going to go home now... Good night."

"Good night..." his superior continued to work on.

Aboard attack submarine Meisho, Jung Nei commanding
East China Sea

"Contact 220 has shifted course," Sonar reported. "They are shadowing the Taiwanese."

Meisho, one of the newer submarines in the fleet, was shadowing a Bonstockian submarine that had left Port Yuko several months before, as part of a simple tracking assignment.

"Communications, send an ULF transmission to a nearby Sinoese ship," Jung ordered. "Tell them of their guests. Weapons, prepare for torpedo launch, but do not flood the tubes."

"Maybe we should hit them with an EMP," Weapons suggested.

Jung smiled. "Maybe," she said. "We shall see."

Aboard RBS U-167, operating in the _Taiwan straits.

"Captain, we have sonar contact with that object thats been following us."

"Well, its following us, it must be a submarine. How nice of them to follow us, out of the 144 active subs in the Bonstocknian fleet, that being attack subs alone."

"They might know exactly what we're up to."

"Perfect. Speed full throttle, we'll transit the strait quickly. Another sub, U-102 is at the north side of the straits, we'll go to them, then stop the engines. The Islandians will confuse the other sub for us. But they have to be engines stopped before we come. Then they'll lead the Islandians to safety."

"What if the Islandians try to shoot at us?"

"They wouldn't. It's not worth starting a war over. But do send a transmission to the other sub."

"But what about radio silence?"

"We'll deal with that later."

"We could be court martialed!"

"I know, but sometimes one must defy orders, Ensign."

"All right. I'll get those com guys on it. They've been sitting on their asses too long now, thanks to radio silence."

A communication is radioed from the sub, very deeply encrypted through a new Bonstocknian code:

U-167 to U-102: Turn off engines, and remain in position. Then wait for another communication.

A young technician rush into the colonel's office.

"Sir! It appears that Islandia frequencies have documented that a Bonstocknian submarine is being targetted and it is close to Chinese waters."

"At ease, soldier. This can mean war, but! I'll ask the Islandians not to open fire and rather force it to surface in humiliation. Goddamn Bonsies! Today, they spy on our wargames, tomorrow they take pictures of our wives in the shower."

"This is Admiral Xu, captain of the destroyer ARSNV Guangzhou, you are given one hour to surface. Otherwise, the rest of you will end up in Davy Jones' Locker."

A simple transmission was given to the hostile submarine. Its engines may be off and not a sound in the water but it was still deadly. To the last position where it was detected, Sinoese subchasers began rushing towards it. Some frogmen personnel dived. An entire squardron of navalized J-10Cs soared overhead. Heavier vessels moved in.

The Sinoese had expected an entire invasion force just north of the Strait. Numerous navalized H-7s adn H-8s took patrol flights, with AWACS and fighters, took to patrol flight. The last known position of the tracked sub soon glowed red on every radar.

"This is Vector One. Calling Base over." A young Lt. of the ARSNAC radioed in from his H-7C.

"This is Base. Release the probe, Vector one, over."

"Roger, that. Probe released, Vector One out." The probe is one the most advanced metal detectors, it was dropped right on the red dot.

Port Yuko Times report

Massive military buildup in Maropian Coast and Sakishimas

Port Yuko, Today- The Federal Republic Department of Defense has given the go ahead for a massive military build-up in Bonstocknian territories in Asia, starting as soon as possible.

Trains carrying tanks and other vehicles were seen making their way from military bases to dockyards in Port Yuko, Havklippa, and Skogby. Cargo ships are currently loading up, and airlines have been asked to delay flights to accomidate soldiers headed to the colonies.

"This is merely a routine changing of units in Maropian Coast," said a Defense Department spokesman on condition of anonymity. "We are bringing home old units, and sending fresh, new ones. There will thus be a temporary heightening of troop levels."

Asked if Bonstock planned on a war with Sino and _Taiwan, the official said, "We are not trying to act hostile to them in any way. We are simply removing old troops and sending new ones. There is no warplan."

However, many anonymous private analysts at the University of Port Yuko acknowledged that the current build up may be the result of increased tensions with Sino.

Bonstock currently has about 600,000 troops deployed in the Sakshimas and Maropian Coast. This includes 5 army divisions, three carrier battle groups, and 8 tactical fighter wings, according to the Defense Department, though various sources have estimated that there may be more.

This does not include the Maropian Defense Army, made up of Maropian conscripts with a strength of nearly 30 million. However, they are considered ill equipped and undertrained compared to their Bonstocknian counterparts.

Officials in the _Taiwanese embassy in Port Yuko refused to comment on the situation at this time.

"Twenty minutes has passed. They have clearly entered into Chinese waters, Admiral Sir." Xu's adjutant was beginning to be impatient.

"No worries, my adjutant from Hunan. They will run out off air. Give them a week. We have authorizations from above to play this waiting game. If they run out off air, that's their fault. They were killed in Chinese waters, but not in Chinese hands."

Meanwhile, two carrier battlegroups have been assembled for action. There is doubts as to whether this is goign to be an exercise or the real thing.

"Sir, the frogmen units told us that the sub's moving. Admiral, sir!"

"It is time." Admiral Xu replied, before picking up the radio.

==========================================================

As the sub departed, a non-lethal explosive was detonated by Sinoese frogmen, it was placed close to the sub, but not close enough. If it was on the sub, the force would be enough to rip out a large hole and render the 40 million dollar piece of crap into scrap. But they served it as a warning and detonated it some 50m from the metal, ripping out probably only a few bolts and cause a minor leak. A warning was enough as their withdrawal was a loss of face.

JH-15s made overflights above the leaving sub several times before it was finally considered to be too far to be a threat.
