Comments would be great.

The incorporated states are quite impressed and would like to aquire a single example. When IDF finishes that Guillem we ordered from them we can run comparitive tests, and will of course give you the results.

1 - This is only the plans for the real thing
2 - Only one will be built... for now
3 - Can you afford a 171 Billion Dollar Vessel?

Actually yes I can. But I noticed something...It looks remarkably similar to a certain ship the Portland naval works are offering...

Problems:

1. 60 inch ETC is way too big
2. Draft is too shallow especially since it's a monohull.
3. Speed is way too high especially for something of it's size. The Nimitz can just top 32 knots

Samtonia Engineering would like to wonder how in God's name 60" guns could possibly be made to work?!

The recoil, the size problems, the fact that if you fire them once will cause them to buckle under the stress..... we're frankly amazed that you've come up with a way to make a functional 60" gun. It was considered to be impossible for normal artillery usage by our best engineers.

But perhaps you could enlighten us.

Samtonia Engineering- Because we're better than your other choices.

no.... your crazy.......
Meh...I could show you my national economy as proof. But know what...after that I wont bother. You just lost a potential customer.

I'd even say that the 28" guns are impossible... you'd need to make a bull supergun type thing. And ECT is out of the question... but everyone's heard my rants on warship armament before, so I'll shuttup.

the speed is possible, but it depends on the hullform... the Nimitz is built for comfort, not for speed =)

the draught is a bit low too... but it really depends on how tall the superstructure is and what the freeboard is.

What I meant was the picture is not one of Portland's
it was not meant to be taken as an insult I didnt mean that I thought you were crazy to think that you have enough money.

Also, ACK! The 60" guns were a typo

Demidia, you have a TG.

Drop the 60" guns, 30" is about the largest possible, but not too practical still.

And I didn't mean the picture. I meant the stats. They look awfully familiar...

IDF, 30" are impossible, as freethinkers has more or less agreed. Well, he says wildly impractical. I say impossible without useing a multichambered bull supergun that needs the barrel lining replaced after every shot.

They are possible, just impractical. I am building a new class of smaller dreadnoughts with 24 inch guns

Pray tell, how do you expect to replace the barrel lining after each shot? And how do you plan on supporting the mass of the gun, when it would collaps under its own weight? Read up on the Bull Supergun to see the problems. Unless you have a convenient hill on your ship...

If we would ask you to build a one, how long do you think it'd take in years?
