The stage was set. The huge launchpad had been constructed in the Chronosian desert; the immense ship towering above the vast plain like some unspeakable monolith. The Imperial foundries had formed it; armed it, and prepared it for launch. Its purpose was the exploration of known space and defence of the Empire; and it was but the first of the Imperium's war-fleet, a great step towards the Emperor's vision and goal of unifying and pacifying all who opposed him.
