Mattikistan Looking to Bolster Army and Navy
Mattikistan

Due to excessive pressure from the Minister for Defence, and the Armed Forces commanders, the people of Mattikistan have voted that we make small efforts to increase the amount of equipment available to the army.
As a pacifist nation, Mattikistan operates a scarce military force for no purpose beyond emergencies. The bulk of the army is specifically trained for relief and humanitarian missions. At present, the Armed Forces of Mattikistan have the following war vehicles available to them:
9x MiG-29 fighter planes
80x MIG-21RD fighter planes
3x ‘Cleveland’-class cruisers
5x ‘Worcester’-class cruisers
5x Ticonderoga-class missile cruisers -- Pending, Granzi confirmation awaited
1x ‘Dreadnought'-class, refit
1x Roydia-class battleship -- Pending, Granzi confirmation awaited
1x Johanus-class aircraft carrier, w/ 2 basic Harrier fighter/bombers (Johanus-class is converted cargo carrier with an airstrip constructed on top)
27x T-34 tanks
38x T-80 tanks (1983)
100x T-55M2 Medium Tanks
The military budget is minuscule, however this government recognises that with an increased population there are more personnel serving the army and therefore more equipment is required. The existing equipment, although old, is not being replaced, merely supplemented. With this in mind, this government has the following 'shopping list':
120 main battle tanks
5 cruisers
5 frigates
1 aircraft carrier
400 stationary SAM launchers
These items will be used for defending the people of the Confederacy, nothing more. The government has not made a military purchase in quite some time and therefore is unsure of a suitable budget for these items. We require these items to be as cheap as possible, yet still capable of performing in the modern world.
If we get some suitable quotes, we will also consider giving a nation a contract to develop an anti-missile system for Mattikistan, to defend against ICBMs and other long-range threats -- given how many nuclear weapons are being thrown around at this point in history, this would seem like a wise investment.
Ordinarily, military equipment is not purchased as we do not use it. However the people have decided that it is time some reinforcements were granted to the armed forces, and so we are to make an exception in this case.

The Confederacy is still looking for the items on this list.

We would be interested in the T-55s and the MiG-21s. Which generation of MiG-21s are we talking about?
We very much appreciate your offer. How many do you have, and what sorts of prices are we talking?
Hybalt Defense Industries would be quite willing to supply Mattikistan armed forces with the necessary naval, aerial, and land equipment to defend your nation. Hybalt Shipyards is a famed provider of all types of naval vessels, though we also have naval aircraft, and limited land warfare. Please visit our storefront on the International Mall. (Link in sig.) Thank you.

300 T-55M2´s were retired from our Naval Infantry, when they changed to T-64BV´s. We could sell them at 300 000$/piece, including maintaince equipment. MIG-21RD´s we have about 600 in use, but they will be phased out in a (NS) decade. It´s performance is comparable to Chinese J-7. We could sell them 2 million$/piece, also including maintaince equipment, infrastructure, and munitions.
So people don´t think we are throwing away equipment too cheaply, our current design RDAI-41 Interceptor, which is facing its first real test at Chinese Front, costs 250 million, not including maintainance infrastructure.
(500 in service) Not for sale currently.

Very well; we'll take 100 of the T-55s. Might only be a medium, but that's a decent price with the maintenance equipment thrown in.
We'll also take 80 of the MiGs; it should be sufficient for our fighter needs for the moment. We'll also have some spare cash in case we come across a good deal for a more modern plane.
We'll wire you $190,000,000 in a moment. Thank you for your offer. We regret we can't take more off your hands, but you know the money tree problem.

We will change the money at international bank to hard currency, thank you.
The paper work for the weapons is being processed, and should be ready soon. Unfortunately, our shipping is currently commandeered to our invasion to China, but we will allow your transports to pick up the tanks and maintainance equipment from our port.
Few older reserve pilots will fly your MIG´s to your designated airfields, if you want.

We suggest that you check out DCA industries (link in sig) for bolstering your military. In adition to the standard MBTs, SPAs, and small arms, we carry lines of extremely successful support vehicles From the Cave Bear superheavy engineering tank to the entire Ar line of zeppelins, DCA can fufill all your combat support needs. For example, the DCA Ar-1 Air Freighter is a zeppelin with a cargo capacity of 150 tons! It can travel for days without refueling, over woods, marshes and water to deliver supplies where they are needed. The Ar-7 Medical Zeppelin is a minature hospital that can quickly relocate from one trouble spot to another, dealing with any medical emergency and traveling more than 2000km a day! The Ar-2 Engineering Zeppelin is the only way to rescue tanks from deep marshes without risking the recovery vehicle getting stuck.
Our warships are top of the line as well, as a recent 10 billion dollar contract aptly demonstraights.

Thank you very much, we'll hire some private cargo ships with military escort to pick them up. They'll be carrying a few trained pilots too to get hold of the MiGs; sounds like you need some pilots right now.

Thanks for the offer; I'll mull it over for a while. We will almost certainly be purchasing some of the SAM sites, we'll just have to decide on how much more we're willing to spend.
