Seeking Naval Power

In the interests of securing our coats, the Republic of Mac Cumhail is seeking to purchase a number of vessels (approximately 24 cutters and 2 command vessels) with which to secure her two major ports. We are not seeking combat-purposed vessels, but rather customs/inspection ships. We are also interested in securing approximately 8 light resupply and support craft to maintain these ships.

Our budget is limited, so we have allocated a total of only 1 billion seaxes (or 370,000,000 dollars) toward the purchase of new vessels this year. We are therefore looking to secure a multi-year contract if the ultimate cost of this fleet supercedes this total (as it undoubtedly will).

We will augment this fleet with approximately 120 of our own, locally produced small patrol craft that currently serve as our navy.

We ask that any bidders please assemble a proposal and place it here for our inspection, along with estimated costs and delivery/payment plans.

Sincerely
Donchad O'Conner, National Defence Minister

We thank you for the information regarding the selections you offer for naval purchases.

We believe your Sentry class corvettes would make good candidates for the purposes of command and control for our coastal fleet. If you could relay us some more information on their Command/Control capabilities, as well as allow us access to a production model for the purposes of a month's evaluation, we will take your offer under advisement.

If you could also supply us with more information about these Broadsword cutters you mentioned in your latest communique, we would be very appreciative, and would consider requesting an evaluation model.

Sincerely
Donchad O'Conner, Defence Minister

The Sentry Class Corvette's boast high speed, manuverability and wide range communication technology, special D-SATS or Satellites are launched for every 15 corvettes, what does this do? It allows for the corvette to communicate clearly, and with it having its own satellite, its a very difficult signal to break, due to the new SoundSAFE Military Signal Shield.

The Broadsword Cutter is a state-of-the-art customs and military vessel. Although most details cannot be unveiled at this time, we can give you a date of when they can be unveiled.

A Sentry Class can be delevered within three days, it is a test model and if used improperly has a lock-down function.

Unfortunately, waiting so long will be somewhat risky for our interests. We will advise you if we can afford to wait this long or not within a short time. However, the Sentry corvettes do seem promising.

For your basic cutter/patrol boat needs Crookfur Arms in congunction with Crookfur Naval Manufacturing can offer our Hilda class patrol vessel:
http://www.meatballs.terminator.org.uk/crookfur/naval.html

Also on that page you will find details of the Brunhilda cargo/support vessel and the much larger Eva class deep water patrol vessel.

We do have other vessels in intermediate sizes but they are priamrily attack orientated.

It seems that we are leaning toward the adoption of the Sentry class as our command/control vessel, supported by Hilda class cutters and Brunhilda cargo/light resupply vessels.

Could we perhaps have test models of the Hilda and Brunhilda classes?

We will allow bidding to remain open for a time, of course.

Given an expanded military budget, the Republic of Mac Cumhail is pleased to inform both applicants that we intend to make significantly increased purchases.

From the Demcor corporation, we wish to purchase 5 of your Sentry Class corvettes for use as our command/control coastal security vessels.
We believe this will cost 450 million dollars, or 1.215 billion seaxes (our national currency).

To the Crookfur Arms group, we wish to submit a request for 60 Hilda class cutters and 25 Brunhilda support ships. We believe this will cost 1,286,550,000 seaxes, or 476,500,000 dollars.

We thank you both for assisting us in the development of our national security. These ships will be used to establish not two, but five coastal defense patrols. This will eneable us to keep three patrols along our coast at virtually all times, with the other two either on standby or undergoing maintenance.

Funding will be wired upon confirmation of the order. We eagerly await the delivery of the aforementioned vessels.

Sincerely
Donchad O'Conner
