Studium

The Government of the United People of Studium will be accepting diplomatic parties and embassies from peace-loving nations for an indefinite amount of time. We aim to make peace with the entire planet, and from there, attempt to make peace between warring parties. A lofty, possibly impossible goal, perhaps, but all the same a noble one that someone must try.
If you wish to establish an embassy within our great nation, you will be rewarded with unparalleled levels of luxury and security, and welcomed warmly into a nation filled with enlightened, friendly people who are eager to learn about other cultures.
Diplomatic benefits are as you would expect from establishing permanent ties; possible trade agreements, possible military or financial assistance in times of unavoidable defensive wars, aid in times of natural crisis, and cultural exchange opportunities.
To establish an embassy in the nation of the United People of Studium, please submit a request here for consideration. It would be highly irregular for such a request to be rejected, but possible reasons could include:
- Totally unacceptable crimes against humanity (genocide, for example). Your policies regarding race, gender, sexuality or disability are sovereign matters, and providing you do not enforce these policies too harshly, they should not be a concern.
- Overly aggressive foreign policies. Frequently disturbing the international peace through frequent, wholly unnecessary wars will demonstrate that you have no interest in peace, and that you would not respect our people if you were here.
You must respect our laws, but these are all common sense laws more than anything. Laws that foreign powers must bear in mind:
- Freedom of speech is valuable to us. If you believe a certain race is inferior for some reason, it is your right to say so and their right to argue. Using violence to enforce your beliefs regarding racism, politics or any other moral, social or political issue will result in immediate imprisonment, trial and possible exile/rehabilitation.
- Firearms are not permitted outside of designated military zones, by ANYONE. Our own soldiers conform to this highly effective and sensible legislation, and we expect you to do the same.
- Any attempts to unlawfully influence the democratic process (for example, sending your ambassadors out into the streets to bribe people to vote for the party that would most benefit your own nation) will result in immediate and non-negotiable exile from Studium.
These laws are not overly strict or unreasonable, but we would expect any of your representatives to respect them as you would expect ours to respect your own laws.
We look forward to welcoming new diplomatic ties with peace-loving nations.
