Flipping through the vidchannels, you come across the Gamma Quadrant News Networt. The network symbol is shown, quickly followed by the Skeelzanian Fist. The shot then switches to the main news room.

A young Skeelzanian female anchor looks up from her papers, her face holding a sadden expression. “Good evening. It is my misfortune to bring you tragic news tonight. We at the Skeelzanian Office for the GQNN have seen a lot of brutal and ugly things over the years, but none as bad as this.

“Approximately 120 hours ago, Coreworlds and their allies began offensive operations against the race known as the Orks. After several days of fierce fighting, the Coreworlds fleet broke through to the Ork homeworld. As they began bombarding Orkish cities, a message from the Ork commander, Ulgor Pygstykker, was beamed to the Fleet. Within it, the Orks stated that they had 250 million human and elf slaves on the planet, and were willing to negotiate.

“Despite being in a position of overwhelming military superiority, Coreworlds callously refused to negotiate. Instead, their Emperor the complete and utter destruction of the Ork world, not even attempting to rescue any slaves before hand. 12 hours ago the Imperial bombardment ceased, leaving only a lifeless rock behind.

“Grand Prince Vladimir of Skeelzania has condemned Coreworld’s actions, squarely blaming them for the deaths of 250 million elf, humans, and we’re sure peoples of other species. The Prince demands a full explanation of Imperial actions, and the turning over of the Admiral who carried out the bombardment to Skeelzanian authorities. He will then be put on trial for war crimes, including wanton destruction of civilian and noncombatants. We will bring you more information as it comes in.”

We will stand by and support our good friend and ally of CoreWorlds. We are certain that his actions are justified by an equal atrocity unleashed on his people. Should any action be taken by Skeelzania or its allies against CoreWorlds, you will be victim of the entire Dominion Fleet.

Public Announcement from Selesa Trinity, Foreign affairs department,

Though Shadow Tech rarely takes a stance on the destruction of nations that do not affect it, we choose to step forward in this instance and condemn the attrocities of CoreWorlds. For too long we have watched as world after world is glassed by nations without cause. The unjustified slaughter of the human, elf, and even orc populations was uncalled for, even precedeing the destruction of the world. Since there is no debt that can repay this event, Shadow Tech Prime begins mobilization of its vast fighter swarms. We hope that other nations will rally to this cause as well.

Though we do not know much about these "fighter swarms" our smallest ship is 650 mters in length and more heavily armed than most space stations. It grieves us that you would believe CoreWorld's actions unjustified, but due to your mobilizations, we have completely mined our borders with cloaked self-replicating mines, leaving one heavily defended entrance into RS space. (we've had the minefield as part of our defences for a good while) Chances are you would not hold against my fleet let alone CW's as well. This is your first and last warning, stand down before we are forced to reduce you to no more than a sorrow-filled debris field.

"It was I who ordered the strike, and I alone should be punished by the people if they wish it so." The Emperor replied.

To the Nation of Ruthless Slaughter,

Your empty threats are of no concern to us, much like your mines. Swarms would not be entering your space anyways because, as of now, we have no reason to go to war with you. Also, since you are unaware of the coordinates of Shadow Tech Space, we will disregard your comments and continue on. It does however, greave us that nations will stand up for such blatant disregard of life.

Compilation of events made by the Weyrik Star Ocean Guard.

During the establishment of the Union of Federated Planets, the entity known as the Greenskinz applied for membership. Their application was ignored by the Federal Union, then the head of the new alliance, for reasons that remain a mystery.

Taking this as an insult, the entity known as the Greenskinz chose to attack the world of Babel, where the signing of the alliance charter was to be held, causing several hundred thousand military and civilian casualties, and billions of Standard Dollars in property damage. The Kingdom of Weyr was forced to involve itself in that conflict in order to protect its interests. Several days later, the entity known as the greenskinz attacked systems controlled by CoreWorlds, the Federal Union, and other members of the Federation.

In response, Federation members attacked by the Greenskinz chose to retaliate, first locating the Greenskinz home worlds and then dispatching vessels to endure that the Greenskinz do not threaten other nations with aggression. The entity of Skeelzania chose to step into the scene at that time, claiming jurisdiction over the Greenskinz systems. The links between Skeelzania and the entity of Greenskinz remain unconfirmed at this moment.

A needleship pilot from a Shadow-class vessel, dispatched into the Gantris IV system a short time prior to the conflict, recieved and recorded the message sent by the Greenskinz.

"Enemies of da Greenskinz, dis is ah warnin'. Weze Orks got over 250 million elfs, hummies, and udder peeples as slaves in our cities. Yooz will cease da orbital bombardment, or weze start killin' um. Dats yer warnin. Yoo wanna fight like real Boyz, yooz come down from yer fancy shamcy starships and fight us man ta Ork."

The fact remains that the orks would not have ceased their aggression had the Federation forces not withdrawn from the system. The fact further remains that the Greenskinz would have continued to employ mass slave labor.

"Hello all, I have come to you on the matter of Coreworlds actions against the orcs, and frankly i think they all should die. Muahahaha.Orcs have no place in this universe and should be slaughtered in numbers greater than 250.we don't need orcs poisoning the universe, us humans do that enough.I think Masaki should stay, he may not agree with me, but he needs to stay. This universe will be nothing without him. He has done the universe a great favor and takig out those orcs..." Slater says.

Official Response to Weyr-
Last we checked, we were condeming genocide, not slavery. ST insists that if it were in the same position as Core Worlds, it would not have destroyed the world.

The fact is that Ulgor's threat to Coreworlds was the first "diplomatic" gesture extended by the Orks. While it is true that they made no promises, responding to the message could of been the first step in creating a lasting peace between your two powers. Instead, Coreworlds simply blasted the world to peices. We in Skeelzania believe, not only did this act murder 250 million elves and humans, it accomplished little to nothing in destroying the Orks ability to wage war. There are over a hundred Ork ships unaccounted for, and a warboss by the name of Brunk is rumoured to be carving out an empire on the Arenumberg border. The destruction of Gantris IV has done nothing except to anger the Orks, and make them even more determined to wage war against the UFP.

"Oh, the fact that they would have killed slaves if we didn't stop fighting them is the first step to peace? Absurd. From my Admiral Swenson's reports, the Orks would not have surrendered, and we would have been forced to fight a terrible ground war against them, with unacceptable losses for the Marines. I think about my people first, you know." The Emperor shot back in a curt message. "Besides, we are of the opinion that sentients would rather die than be enslaved. My grandfather was a slave and he had no wish for anyone to live that experience."

We officially condemn Coreworlds for their actions against the slaves. Some effort should've been made to help evac some slaves, and the oribatally bombarding the Orks. The Orks may have taken them into slavery, but an effort should've been made.

The Five Civilized Nations condemns the nation of Coreworlds for its actions in the destruction of a planet and the ensuing loss of life. However, we condemn any other nations that threaten the sanctity of the government and people of Coreworlds. More deaths is not a solution to this conflict.

"The people have decided." said the President of the Senate in an address. "and the answer is no."

It was a great debate in the nation, even as war looms on the horizon. People argued one way or another about the merits of the bombardment. The Senate wanted to lynch him, but it was the people who made the decision.

A faint, familar drumming tune came to the window outside the Palace overlooking the main street.

National Anthem (http://www.vgmusic.com/music/console/nintendo/snes/cttitle.mid)

The Emperor looked out the window and saw an amazing sight. The general public has turned out by the thousands...to support him?

Signs like "Don't Abdicate" and "We don't care about Orks!" and "We trust you, Mr. Emperor!" rose up as the guards watched for trouble.

"Dad!" Daniel said. "My friend's parents called to say that they don't want you to go! Here, Jack gave it back to me!"

He threw his father's lightsaber to Andrew. He looked out the window, then back at Daniel. The people actually trusted me? Even after I slagged the Orks?

Of course, some of the people obviously wanted him out, but the majority shouted them down. The Emperor realized that the people have chosen, and they want him to stay. He grinned, and ignited his lightsaber high in salute, a green torch in the sky! The public roared their approval! Oh, what a sight to see!

"My people," He boomed, using the Force to carry his voice across the crowds. "Why have you chosen to let me stay?"

A self-appointed spokesman with a bullhorn replied. "We knew that any other person in your position would have lied and tried to keep power by force or other unscripulous methods. You told the truth, and though at first we didn't like it, we now know that...Emperor Masaki, you did the right thing under the circumstances! You brought our soldiers home, even though you could have fought them ugly Orks, maybe won, maybe lost. That is what counts, that you cared for us! We are sorry we had to kill the slaves, but is it not better to die free than to live in chains? If you need to do what you need to do again, we support you!"

The crowd cheered again, and the Emperor's throat choked. "Yes...you are right! I accept your decision, my friends! May the Force be with you...all!"

"and May the Force be with you, too!" The crowd replied and cheered again.

Jennifer, sobbing happily, ran into her husband's arms and they kissed like they never kissed before. Daniel pumped his fists in the air in victory and father and son gave a high-five.

OOC: Now's a good time to try and assassinate the guy and the Emperor...
