[North Atlantic]

Task Force Spearhead had already made it off Spain some two days ago, following a regular pace of twenty two knots. The semi-large task force was composed of five aircraft carriers, three battleships, four pocket battleships, and many other naval ships, not to mention some thirty Type II SSNs, and two Type I SSBNs. The fleet was in a peculiar position, closer to Portugal, than to Spain. It's axis headed straight for Lisbon, which would be one of the first targets of The Macabee's wrath.

Task Force Spearhead was in a protected position. Three hundred kilometers around it was an ASW perimeter, composed of some of the Type IIs, and most of the destroyers and frigates dedicated to the task force. One hundred kilometers in front of that twenty MMA-D1 Reconaissance Aircraft, as well as MMH-C1 Caligula helicopters, provided AWACs. Sonar bouys were dropped every so often searching for viable contacts under the waves. Spearhead had it's modifed TENEX SPY-6, also called in Macabee terminology the MRS-TENEX SPY 6, searching low and high for missiles and aircraft within a 500km to 700km ring, and foward reconaissance had down looking LIDAR working. All in all, Spearhead was in high defcon stance, awaiting for a go for the start of operations.

Verbotten Luftwaffe wouldn't be given a warning to the attack on the Iberian Peninsula. The Iberian Peninsula was a very predictable target for the Macabees. Most of the citenzry thought themselves Spanish, as they had descended from the Spaniards over three hundred years ago, since before the days of Jonathan I, the first Emperor of the Macabee Empire. Now Jonathan VI, was ready to completed destiny by attacking the homeland, and taking it for the Macabees.

For aerial combat the task force had alloted to it, on the five main carriers, plus some ten escort carriers, six hundred MMA-A2 Hawk Air Superiority Aircraft, as well as two hundred MMA-A1 Kondor Low Altitude Fighters. The forty MMA-D1s were also based off the aircraft carriers, as well as ten MMA-C1 Albatross Heavy Bombers. These would provide Macabee air cover over the Iberian Peninsula once combat operations began.

In a tight protective circle, inside all of the fleet, was packeted the 3rd White Banner Army, just arrived from Zarbia - along with most of the ships used for the invasion. The two hundred thousand soldiers, six thousand tanks, and much other combat utilities were not with the fleet, however, they were close by, and once the original beachheads were established all of these units would land on the beachheads and continue inland.

It was an extremely powerful force. No doubt that Verbotten Luftwaffe would soon find out about the force in any case. However, the nation wouldn't have enough time to respond. SAT PASS DATA FEEDS were already transmitted data bursts to CCM, Command Command Mediterranean, full of images of defensive positions on Spain, including infantry clumps, tank parks, SAM sites and batteries, airfields, and coastal positions. CCM was merely analyzing the intelligence and providing a fast attack plan which would stun their defenses and ensure victory for the Macabees.

OOC: About time I did this... I can't find his nation on NS..if someone could TM him about this I would be grateful.. please include the link.

If you have any further questions please post them.

OOC: It seems Verbotten Luftwaffe no longer exists...so this is just a general attack on now uncolonized Portugal and Spain...I might just take over everything Verbotten Luftwaffe used to own.

If Verbotten does exist please TG him..if he doesn't respond with an OOC message during my RP I'm going to assume he's dead.

[Lisbon Military Region : Portugal]
<<0200 hours H-Hour, D-Day>>

Fifty MMA-A1 Kondor Low Altitude Fighters screamed into the air from the various home carriers that were near the Azores, owned by Holy Panooly. The Kondors would have a long way to go to their targets, and they cruised towards them in a straight line at Mach 2.7, keeping a general altitude of seventy meters, just below most active radar waves. To their rear seventy five MMA-A2 Hawk Air Superiority Fighters also hit the air to support the Kondors in the upcoming operations around Lisbon. The Hawks were the newest state of the art Macabee air superiority fighters. Equiping what some termed 4th Generation Stealth it could bounce off TENEX SPY-6 RADAR effectively without getting caught as a blip in the air until it was extremely close. However, the Portuguese used a slighly lesser radar, so would prove to be easy to bypass. The Portuguese navy was also almost non-existant due to their loss of the Azores when they were taken over by Holy Panooly.

Some two hours and a half later the fighters were just outside Portugal. Earlier SAT PASS had pinpointed Portugeuese radar stations, as well as sam batteries, with extremely powerful telescopes, and these coordinates were relayed to the Task Force present to take care of the Iberian Peninsula. Subsequenly, those one hundred and twenty five fighters were sent to knock out Portugeuse radar and most of the sam sites in preperation for a Spanish landing near Lisbon. From there Lisbon would fall, meaning most of Portugal would fall, and then the Macabee Army could wash into Spain, and then into France from there. It was a beautiful plan to be used against a series of countries that didn't have more than forty million people each.

The Kondors entered Portugal right after the Hawks began to form their air umbrella high over Portugal. The Hawk's internal radar was beeping off searching the skies for possible contacts, heavily hoping for some type of aerial action. In the meantime the Kondors remained low and soon enough received contact reports with their given targets. Ten major radar stations in central Portugal were hit anywhere from one hundred kilometers range, to ten kilometer range, with MLAM-2s. The MLAM-2 had a 200kg Octagen warhead, with a maximum range of two hundred kilometers. The missiles dropped ten feet, released from the shackels under the pylons of the aircraft, and then the scramjet kicked in sending the missile on its way at Mach 3.5 towards the radar stations.

SAM batteries were also hit with MLAM-2s, however, they were most likely eradicated by 500lb Cluster Bombs, and by several passes with the 30mm Avenger employed by the Kondor. The Hawks were careful to turn on jammers right before missile launches in order to throw Portugeuse radar into dissaray. Destruction of Portuguese radar in central Portugal was assured and the road was paved for the Macabee conquest.

However, not all went fine and dandy. Portugal threw up some one hundred F-18/As obviously bought previously off the Americans. Although their AIM-9s could hardly get in range to engage the Macabee A-11/G Archers they posed a challenge to the Macabee getaway. The Hawks, outnumbered, put up a fight. Some twenty Portuguese aircraft were engaged with two A-11/G Archers each. The A-11/G was a Macabee modification to the Soviet A-11 Archer - they were upgraded to 80km range with a scramjet engine, sending it at over Mach 3.5. They were another Macabee beauty. Portuguese fighters were good however, and only fifteen kills were confirmed. The other eighty five fighters came on. One F-18/A successfully threw three AIM-9 Sidewinders at a Macabee fighter ripping through the engines, like a knife through butter. The Macabee Hawks plummeted to the ground. However, the Portuguese took heavy losses and were forced to retire after loosing a total of seventy three F-18/As. Their fighter force was effectively cut out of the fight. Portugal would be a seeminly easy conquest... this was an incorrect assumption...

The Kondors turned around, turning on the afterburners, taking them to a maximum speed of Mach 3.4, along a straight line, back to the carriers. They would again slow down one hundred and fifty kilometers out. The Hawks kept up a rear guard fight, but also made sure they got out of Portueguese air control. Although the Portuguese had lost any chances of aerial superiority with that attack they could still down quite a few Macabee aircraft. It was time to send in the infantry...

[Torres Vendra;Lisbon Military Region : 300 hours]

During the intense aerial fights over the Lisbon Region thirty C-130s were heading inland, right over Portugal. Intelligence from the fighters reported that the sams had been knocked out, as well as radar stations, making it safe for the C-130s. Five of these large transport aircraft were heading slightly north of Lisbon to a minor city, or large town, called Torres Vendra. Taking Torres Vendra would allow for a beachead to be established next to it, and would open Lisbon to attack from the north. Therefore, military command had decided to land a total of two hundred and fifty crack paratroopers at Torres Vendras to take the town. They were in those five tansports heading there.

It was still dark, however, tracer fire soon lit up the sky. Although Portuguese sams were down for the time being old anti-aircraft guns had not been damaged. They hadn't the range to shoot down the C-130, but they were unnerving. The dropping men would have to go through that.

The men in C-130 MAC4 were all quiet. The lieutenant looked at his stick and then looked at the red light on the wall of the aircraft. The plane rumbled foward, shaking due to the light turbelance this far down in altitude. Soon enough, however, all hell broke loose. The green light turned on and the lieutenant turned back to his men, "Alright, get up and hook up."

The stick went through the normal precedres, "50 Check, 49 Check...1 Check," and finally it went to the lieutenant who silently said check. The doors opened and the stick began to head out, one by one, into the dark nigh sky. As the men dropped tracer lights from the AA still lit up the air creating abstract blends with the stark black background. If it wasn't war it would be beautiful. However, none of that was on the men's mind. Some ten minutes later the stick was down - as well as the other five sticks.

The men were silent. They had been planted two hundred meters north of Torres Vendra, and were isolated from the other sticks. Orders were to meet up in the center of the small town - and that's exactly what they would do. The stick broke into four platoons, each led by a sergeant or second lieutenant, and it continued into Torre Vendras. Most of the lights were off, as the town was asleep...however, they would soon awake.

Portueguese machine gunners opened up from a three story building window, taking down the first two Macabee paratroopers. However, a quick shot from a Javalina anti-tank blew the building into the sky, throwing bricks all over the damn street. It was a mess, but it did the job. The stick continued down Torres Vendras as fast as they could to take the town without further incident, however, further resistance would bog them down by the second street. Portuguese fighters had in fact stopped all five other sticks trying to take the two by the second to fourth streets, forcing the two hundred and fifty Macabee men to go house by house with large ordnance...blowing resistance off the face of the earth. It was a truly tedious task, but it had to be done.

Casualties began to mount up and soon enough chopper propellers were heard on the horizon...

[Setubal;Lisbon Military Region]
<<300 hours>>

Two sticks fell short of Setubal and automatically set up for their attack on the town. The town lay south of Lisbon and would provide a souther prong for the attack on the capital; that way there were a total of seven hundred or more paratroopers taking on the Portuguesse capital. Resistance proved to be a lot less and the five hundred crack soldiers quickly overran the village. However, a more gruosome spectacle happened there.

Most of the people were rounded up in the central town square - a total of some twenty thousand people. The commanding Macabee officer took a quick look and then signalled his men from afar. The paratroopers massacred every last one of them...

OOC: Short on time...will post more later...sorry for the crappy Setubal post...trying to spice things up without taking more time out of my day.
