Crime has always been, and always will be a problem. There is a minumum of 20 murders a day, and over 100 assaults. Our police force is ilequiped to handle such a crime rate and our military is still being trained and equiped. I request aid to quel this crime wave. I formally ask any freindly country to please give us aid. We will pay for how ever long it is needed to help restore order.

I would like to request this deal here, will pay any price to have this done. The Federated Union of Democratic Colonies would like to offer the services of 192 of our special forces servicemen and women. 96 Colonial Rangers (Army Special Forces) and 96 Colonial Lancers (Navy Special Forces) would cross-train with your police forces and excecute high-risk law enforcement actions, security operations, and suspect aprehension/termination efforts. We believe that such an arrangement could be beneficial to both of our nations. The Colonial Rangers and Lancers are relatively well trained, but like most of the Colonial military, the 8 teams of 24 we would send are sorely lacking real world combat experience. Should you accept our offer, we only ask that the government of Sinear provide the 192 personel with secure housing, rations and transportation to areas of operation during thier inital 6 month deployment to areas within Sinear of your choosing. They will bring thier own equipment and munitions, and the Democratic Colonies will financially compensate anyone affected by collaterial damage if we are proven to be responsible for it in a Colonial court of law. The units being sent will have volunteered for the assignment specifically. Awaiting your reply,

According to our inventory, we have upwards of 6,000 troops currently available for hire, as well as 150 MBTs. All naval forces currently out to lease. Note: MBTs cost 40 gold credits per crew member, per hour, along with an extra 100 gold credits per hour for use of the tank itself. MBTs have a crew of four.

Please specify how many you wish to hire, and if you would require a repayment plan please inform us before the transaction is complete; otherwise we shall assume full payment on delivery.

T&C:

You may begin a new contract afterwards, however if your opponent once again does likewise, your contracts will both be dissolved with no refund again.
- Insurance 4 Death PLC insures all our soldiers in the battlefield. If OMilitary employees are deliberately killed, you will be liable to pay OMilitary Ltd full compensation for the estimated value of employee's life and equipment. Failure to do so will result in legal action. Excessive incidents of friendly fire can result in increased prices, or being banned from hiring from OMilitary in future.

- OMilitary Ltd reserves the right to alter these terms and conditions with no prior warning. Failure to comply with these terms and conditions results in a dissolved contract with no refund.
- ADDITION: Once conflict is over and troops are no longer required, you are responsible for informing us and returning those personnel you hired. Failure to inform us shall result in continuing charges. Failure to return personnel and equipment shall cause you to be liable for compensation.

On second thought, I like this idea. I will gladley accept your offer and provide barracks for 192 SF, along with all the food and equipment they need. My police force and some military SF will benefit from fighting along side your armed forces. If need be I can provide the very few aircraft or armor I can to you. Including the "Apache" attack helicopter and the "Black Hawk" transport and gunship. You have full authority to make use of anything within my nation. If a whole town needs to be rid of a gang, take it out. Thank you for your offer, as i accept. Sorry OMilitary, but this will benefit both nations.

The Democratic Colonies is glad to see that Sinear has accepted our offer. The personel will be flown out to Sinear within 4 days (NS Time) and will be available for high-risk law enforcement/combat operations immedately after. They will report thier status back to the Democratic Colonies every 3 days through light communications equipment they will be bringing with them. At the conclusion of thier 6 month deployment, the Democratic Colonies will evaluate the benefits gained from operations in Sinear and may extend the deployment times of the units already in Sinear, or deploy fresh units from the Colonies to replace them.

While we are pleased to be of assistance, we actually would like to suggest the wisdom of accepting the aid of Buechoria and Seversky if you would be so inclined. While our special forces are quite capable, Seversky is offering to deploy 2 full marine divisions - seemingly without requiring payment. While Colonial Special Forces can hopefully acomplish much to restore law and order to Sinear, thousands of marines would no doubt accomplish more. It is your descision ofcourse, but we believe the offers of other nations are also worth considering.

As well, we'd like any information you have readily available concerning what arms your current police forces are equipped with, thier approximate level of training, and information on if corruption is a problem, and if so, to what degree. Thank you,

- Secretary Kelli Perim, Colonial Department of Foreign Affairs
Nova Hope
19-09-2004, 06:37
As I see it the option that have been given to you are unacceptable. Your first choice will be voided when your criminals make a contract with API, the only way that this would work is if you could afford to renew more times than they did, not a cheap solution. Your next option is to engage in genocide, which will bring the international community down on you faster than the munitions they drop. The others are all offering contract of services et cetera. None of these are really good options because if you had the resources you’d fight the problem yourself.

The solution that Nova Hope offers is to allow us to come in and take possession of your country. You’d be made a protectorate of mine and I would immediately begin to solve your problems. I would apply a direct tax on your citizens to pay for my protection, to save the government the expense, and then take hold of your criminal combatant organizations, replacing them with my own agents.

This solution, while sounding harsh, would leave you to stop fretting the domestic situation. You’d then be free to rule your country as you would knowing that we would have the domestic scene controlled. This agreement wouldn’t affect your ability to form relations, engage in wars or limit you in anyway. This would merely take this aspect of government out of your hands.

Your response?

I will have to decline Nova Hope's and Parthia's solution, I will not relinquish my contry to any foreign power... yet.

Secretery Perim- Though Seversky's offer is very generous to us, I will not ask for thier aid just yet. I will see what our combined forces can acheive. If we should need will help I will call upon them for aid.

We have a population of about 5 million people, the amount of these people belonging to gangs and other criminal organizations are estimated to be near 30,000. I feel that our SF and police will have no problem with this number.

The currently equiped weaponry to my police force are as follows:
Model 1911 colt-We are a moderatly poor country right now so we had to fall back on this old model, although it does provide the stopping power I need.
Baton
USAS 12 shotgun- My police force's pride and joy. Rapid fire ammo drum shotgun.

These are the weapins currently issued to my police.

The chance of corruption on my police force. High, as I cannot provide them witht he money they want or need, so they are forced to take bribes. But I have several highly trained and highly payed detectives looking for these corrupt cops now.

IC: *Aboard Colonial Airforce 747 Transport, Sinear Airspace*

Lieutenant Colonel Gary Maddison sipped at his drink as he gazed out the window of the Colonial transport. He and the 192 men and women under his overall command were approaching the primary international airport of Sinear now, it wouldn't be long before they landed. It had been a long flight, but atleast the Airforce had them riding a 747 for transport - the dedicated Colonial cargo planes like the C-5 were infamous for thier uncomfortable seats. Maddison glanced across the aisle at Commander Laura Weir, his defacto second in command for the deployment and leader of the Navy Lancers that formed half of the personel on the mission. He didn't know much about her, her history, or her capabilities. The Navy Lancers and the Army Rangers did crosstrain and deploy together fairly often, but Maddison himself had never worked with the Lancers before. Maddison took another sip from his drink, an iced coke, as the plane began to discend. There was some slight jolting of turbulance as the 747 passed through a rough airspot, causing Maddison to curse as he spilled some of his coke onto his red leather uniform jacket. The man seated next to him, second in command of the Army Rangers, Major Dave Springfield gave him a slightly amused look but didn't say anything. The voice of the pilot came on over the intercom. "All hands, brace for some possible turbulance. Please return to your seats and secure all drinks and loose items until landing" he instructed. "Yeah, thanks alot" muttered Maddison sarcastically as he tried to wipe off his jacket with some napkins. They would be landing soon, and the last thing he needed was to introduce himself to the Sinearian officals that would greet them with a coke stain on his jacket. "Springfield, wipe that smartass smirk off your face and pass me some more napkins" Maddison said as the screech of the aircraft landing gear meeting the concrete of the Sinearian runway could be heard. Springfield passed him a wad of paper napkins, and Maddison began to frantically wipe at his jacket as the aircraft slowly taxiied to a stop. He thought he noticed Commander Weir looking over at his direction, but he didn't glance up to check - getting his leather jacket dry was his only concern at that point.

Commander Laura Weir glanced over at Lt. Colonel Maddison when she noticed him doing something with his arms out of the corner of her eyes. He seemed to be frantically moving his arm across his chest, but why would he be doing that? She leaned forward a bit, only to see that the Colonel seemed to have spilled some of his drink on himself... Commander Weir leaned back into her seat, not sure what to think. Does that mean anything? Is the man an idiot, or did his hand just slip? she thought to herself. While Maddison looked like he usually knew what he was doing, Weir had never really worked with the Army Rangers before, and this would be the first combat deployment for all of the personel involved, both Army and Navy. I'm sure it was just an accidental slip...dosen't mean anything. Or, atleast I hope it dosen't Weir thought to herself as the 747 taxiied to a stop. The pilot came over the intercom again, telling everyone that they should now disembark and that Cheif Talus of the Sinearian police would be greeting them now that they'd landed. Commander Weir stood up and smoothed out her red leather jacket as the others in the passenger compartment did likewise, and began to make her way towards the now open exit of the aircraft. Weir saw that Maddison looked like he'd cleaned up his jacket for the most part - luckily, Machen Colony Leather was usually quite water resistant. Hopefully, no one would notice what had happened, but she wasen't really sure... Weir took a moment to check that that her hair was still neatly in the tight bun she'd wrapped it in earlier before stepping out of the 747 and into the crisp Sinearian air. The equipment and munitions for the 192 Colonial personel were stowed away in the cargo section of the massive aircraft, but once they had unloaded it, the Rangers and Lancers could suit up in thier combat gear and deploy where needed pretty much immediately if the Sinearians wanted.

Robert Talus watched as the large aircraft landed rather harshly on the poorly maintained air strip. The large plane taxied up, not 10 feet away from Talus. The massive turbofan engines died with a loud high hissing. The main cabin door opened with a slow motion, letting down a small ramp. Talus stepped forward. Behind him stood 15 other police officers. Each one wearring riot gear head to toe, large kevlar vests, blue padded undershirt, sleevless. Their faces covered by helmets with a shaded visor that covered most of thier face. of the 15 men, 10 had the standard issue Model 1911 Colt with riot sheld, the other 5 toting the USAS 12 automatic, drum fed shot gun.

Talus stepped towards the ramp, appraoching to who he thought to be Lieutenant Colonel Maddison. He approached the man and held out a hand, offering a hand shake.

"Welcome to the Republic of Sinear, freinds. Your a sight for sore eyes. I am Cheif Talus, and behind me are very loyal officers. Once you are ready I will show you men and women thier barracks, after that, your first orders." Talus explained.

The Confederacy of Mattikistan attempts to treat crime at its source. Rather than merely fighting the symptoms of criminal activities, we focus on the illness that caused them. Mattikistan invests heavily in education, rehabilitation and uses other progressive social policies to tackle the heart of the matter. As a result, Mattikistan is renowned for having a phenomenally low crime rate, with the only serious crimes being crimes of passion (even those are low, committed by those with the minimal self-restraint) that our efficient but caring police force deal with effectively. Although you will need to continue to deal with crime head-on for the moment given your unfortunate situation, we believe that if you initiate such policies as soon as you practically can, you will begin to notice the difference they can make in the future. In the meantime, we are willing to provide additional medical personnel should your crime problem be a burden on hospitals.

Lieutenant Colonel Maddison shook Chief Talus' hand as the Rangers and Lancers under his command made thier way out of the aircraft and formed four lines to his left. Commander Weir came up beside Maddison as the large cargo doors of the 747 opened up and Colonial Airforce personel began to offload the cargo inside. There were quite a few personal duffel bags, suitcases and rucksacks in addition to the military hardware that needed to be transported. "We're glad to be here Chief Talus." said Maddison as he indicated Commander Weir with a hand. "This is my operational second in command for our deployment, Commander Laura Weir of the Navy Lancers." Weir extended her hand and offered Cheif Talus a firm handshake before Maddison continued. "We would like to thank you for your hospitality during our deployment. Once our cargo is ready for transport, we can proceed to the barracks and we will be ready for operations immediately." Chief Talus gave a nod as Maddison then turned around and addressed Major Springfield, second in command of the Rangers. "Springfield, get everyone over to pick up thier packs - we're moving out as soon as everyone's got thier things." He said. Maddison turned back around as Springfield led the others to the cargo doors of the 747 to gather up the growing collection of personal luggage and combat equipment that was now sitting on the airport tarmac. "It will only take a few minutes until we're ready to move out" Maddison assured the Chief. Weir studied the police officers Chief Talus had brought with him to the airport as Maddison and the Chief continued to speak. The riot gear they had on seemed to be of a very decent quality, and their weapons weren't bad either. The Colt 1911, while being an older design, was still highly respected for its accuracy and stopping power by all in the Colonial military. The USAS 12 automatic shotguns were considered highly effective in room clearing, although they did have more recoil than Weir would like. Weir's thoughts were interupted as Major Springfield came up beside her, a massive rucksack on his back and a pair of duffel bags over his left shoulder. He had his M-8 Assault rifle in its carrying case in his right hand. "Sir, we're ready to move out." he said. Another Ranger came up beside Maddison and Weir to hand them thier bags before jogging back to the rear of the plane to get his own things. "We're ready to move out as soon as you'd like now" Maddison said to Chief Talus as he looped a duffel bag around his right shoulder.

OOC: I guess the command structure here is a bit confusing now, so I'll clarify:

- Maddison is in command of everyone
- Weir is in command of the Lancers (half the unit there), but she's under Maddison's command, so she becomes Maddison's second in command by default
- Springfield is second in command of the Rangers, but since the Rangers only form half of the unit, he's been delegated to third in the chain of command. Maddison will use him as his right hand man most of the time, since he still dosen't know Weir very well.
- I'm probably not going to bother to RP Weir having a second in command of the Lancers, I think that'd be a few too many characters.

Talus nodded at the men and woman. "Alright then, if you will follow me to our transportation." Talus turned around and for a second he just looked towards the capital city of Rhienhardt. His short grey crewcut hair motionless in the wind, his tired eyes drooping, and wrinkiles dominating most of his face. He then started to walk towards the HUMVEEs and busses, the other officers then surrounding Talus and the new arrivals to thier fair city. The row of four Humvees and 5 busses started up thier engines with a roar. A single man manned a turret on each of the Humvees, three of them being standard .50 caliber machine guns, and the fouth being a long barreld mini-gun. Talus stopped for a second to show the commanders. "Another of our military's and police's pride and joy, 3000 rounds a minit, aircooled, .30 caliber rounds." A smirk crossed Talus's face as he kept moving. Talus stopped short of the row and turned towards the commanders. "Your men and women will pile into these busses, cargo and all, my police will man the Humvees, IF you dotn mind, I would like you to ride up with me, Commander Maddison." After all the men were boarded onto the vehicles the column stared to move.

They snaked thier way through the city streets. The city had some tall sky scrapers but not many, and the streets eirily devoid of life except for the occasional homless person. The arrived at a decently nice hotel and disembarked. "After you and your men have unpacked, and eaten, I want you all back here at 1600 hours for your first assignment. With that Talus strode off into a Humvee and rode away.

Lieutenant Colonel Gary Maddison stood in his combat gear by his hotel room window. The sound of a dog barking furiously could be heard in the backround as Maddison sighed, then turned around. Seated in a chair a few meters away from him was Major Dave Springfield, also in his combat gear. Thier helmets and rifles were resting on a nearby counter. "So, is this pretty much what you expected sir?" asked Springfield, leaning back in his chair. "Pretty much, yeah..." said Maddison, putting a hand on the window. "This is home for the next six months. Right here." said Maddison, gesturing out the window with his other hand. "Six months at least." corrected Springfield. "Our deployment could be extended for any number of reasons." The sound of a distant car alarm going off could be heard as Maddison took his hand off the window and sat down into a chair himself. "Well, hopefully, there won't be much need for that once we're done here." said Maddison. "Restore law and order, protect the innocent, uphold the law. That's what we can here to do, and if I have anything to say about it, that's what'll happen. Six months - or more - might not be enough time to totally fix the whole country, but it's more than enough time to get the ball rolling." Maddison again looked out his window as the sound of the dog barking was suddenly cut off, leading Maddison to wonder what had happened.

The streets of Rhienhardt had given Maddison a bad feeling - the unusal emptyness of them, the silent stares of the homeless they had passed. The streets back home in Maddison's native city of Machen Alpha were clean, bustling, safe avenues of commerce and recreation - a far cry from where he was now. This would be the first combat deployment for himself and all of the Rangers under his command, and he suspected that it was the same for Commander Weir's Lancers, but he knew that he and those around him were ready for this mission. They were well trained, well equiped, well armed and motivated to believe in what they were fighting for. Maddison would fight to bring the same safety and security to those in Sinera as he had enjoyed back in the Colonies. He had the faith of the Colonial military and the Sinearian government to do the job, and he knew that thier faith was not misplaced. He knew it, because if it was, if he wasen't ready, if he wasen't good enough for this, then he would accomplish nothing here but the leading of the men and women under his command to thier certain deaths... Maddison's thoughts were interupted as a knock was heard from the door to his hotel room. "Come in." he said, standing up. The door swung open to reveal Commander Laura Weir in her combat gear, with her M-8 rifle slung over a shoulder and her helmet carried under an arm. "Sorry to intrude Colonel, but Chief Talus' motorcade should be on its way now. My Lancers are all set to go immedately, and I checked with the your Rangers - they're good to go." Lieutenant Colonel Maddison nodded in thanks and picked up his rifle. "Alright then, looks like things are about to get interesting. Let's be downstairs when the Chief gets here." said Maddison. He led the trio of officers down to the main lobby of the hotel as they checked thier rifles and sidearms. They weren't sure of what Chief Talus would ask of them shortly, but they were sure that they'd need thier weapons.

Talus rode up on his vehicle, which was nice and clean, not a single dent of blemish. Clipped to the side of the vehicle was a well kept USAS 12 automatic shotun, with several drums of extra ammo on the other side of the vehicle. Behind him rode a convoy of 4 Humvees and 2 SWAT team personel carriers. They rode up next to the hotel and disembarked immeidiatly, this time though, establishing a perimiter around the vehicles, weapons in hand. Talus hopped off his bike and walked briskly into the hotel. Seeing the neatly organized troopers, lined up, at attention. Commander Maddison turned around as he heard Talus approaching.

"Your men ready?" Talus asked, commander Maddison nodded. "Good, two Pave Lo transport helicopters are on thier way, to pick up you, your troopers and me, my officers will stay here and make sure none of your equipment gets stolen." The Pave Los were the second biggest helicopter in the (known) world, he had purchased them off of another country that was now unknown to Talus.

The sound of massive blades beating in the air was heard, "They are going to land on the top of the buidling, follow me" Talus said as he beckoned them to follow him. Into the freight elevaters they went, onto the top of the buidling. Once they are were all assembled at the top, Talus gave them thier orders. "We are going to a small time that has been taken over by a rather large and vicous gang. All unknowns are to be considered hostile, being as the gang ran out all the law abiding citizens. Now, on the the helicopters we go." Talus jogged onto the loading ramp of the helicopter, and motioned all the others to be seated. "Rangers in this helicopter, Lancers in Charlie 90, er, the other helicopter." After all the troopers were seated and strapped in, Talus ran up to the cockpit and motioned the helicopters to take off. Slowly, but powerfully. It was about a two hour flight, a while to get there.

OOC: I'm not sure if you noticed, but Gary Maddison's rank is Lieutenant Colonel, or just Colonel for short. Laura Weir's rank is Commander. I'm using the US military chain of command as my own, hence the difference in structure between the Army and the Navy. You can keep calling Maddison a commander in your posts if you like for consistency's sake, but I just wasen't sure if you'd noticed. I'm about to RP my entry into the town, as well as the layout of the town. I'm not sure if you wanted me to RP the entire battle for the town, so I stopped before anything too big happened. Please tell me if you want me to go through the whole battle, or stop at the middle or something incase you want to RP something.

IC:
Lieutenant Colonel Maddison unstrapped himself from his seat and made his way to the cockpit of the massive helicoptor as they neared the town that was thier objective. When the town came into view, Maddison began to transmit the video feed from his helmet to everyone under his command. Whatever he saw, his people would also see as it was projected onto a digital window in thier helmet visors. "How do you want to approach?" asked Chief Talus as the helicopters came to a hover a few miles from the outskirts of the town. The voice of Major Springfield came in over Maddison's helmet radio. "We could land the choppers in that parking lot due North-North East of us, sir." he suggested. "No," said Maddison. "that's a perfect spot for an ambush as we land - heavy machine gun fire from the nearby bushes as the landing doors open and we'd all be dead." Maddison turned to Chief Talus. "Chief, I'd like it if you'd set us down about half a mile out of town - we'll enter by foot, clearing as we go." The chief agreed and began to direct the pilots as Maddison talked to Commander Weir. "Weir - get your two snipers onto the hill to our North-East." Maddison stared at it to ensure that Weir saw it and confirmed before he left the cockpit. Two of the Rangers and two of the Lancers under his command were snipers, and while he had just ordered Weir to place her Lancer snipers on top of a hill to provide cover for them once they landed, Maddison had another idea for his two Ranger snipers. From the cockpit, he had noticed a tall clock tower roughly in the middle of the town - about 10 stories high, it would make an excellent sniping and overwatch post once they reached it, and he could post his remaining two snipers there. Maddison explained his plan for the clock tower as the helicopters came to a hover a few feet above the ground and the landing doors began to open. Chief Talus appeared in the doorway of the cockpit and waved the Rangers out over the thundering noise of the helicoptor rotors, now louder since the landing doors were open. "All teams, disembark!" shouted Maddison into his radio as he led his own 24 person team off of the helicopter and onto a small field of soft, yielding grass. The town was half a mile directly to thier North, but where they were now, it was only grass with a treeline starting a few hundred meters to thier South. The Rangers and Lancers assumed a defensive box formation around the helicopters until the last of the Colonial personel were on solid ground and the helicopters took off. "What now Colonel?" asked Commander Weir over the radio as the last noise of the helicopters died out and they were left in relative silence. Maddison put his M-8 rifle up to his shoulder and waved a Ranger team forwards as he replied. "We're going to drive for the centre of the town, we're going to check for any remaining innocents, and we're going to shoot anyone who tries to stop us. All units, move out!"

Lieutenant Colonel Maddison led his multi-service unit to the edges of the city as a light drizzle began to rain down on them. "This could be some trouble for them." said Major Springfield, indicating the two Lancer snipers on the hill to thier rear left. "I'm sure they'll do fine, even with the rain." replied Maddison. "I'm more concerned with the fact that the streets look totally deserted - Chief Talus said that the gang had driven all the civilians out, but still. There's no one around at all..." Maddison switched his helmet display to infra-red for a quick sweep of the area, but still saw no one. "Alright, we'll move our way towards the centre of town from here. Proceed into houses on the way, both to clear them of gang members and to check for any remaining civilians. Follow level 2 peace enforement rules of engagement - shoot anyone who has a weapon, might have a weapon, is going for a weapon or generally looks like they wish they had a weapon. Keep your eyes peeled for any possible remaining civilians, check to ensure you're shooting a hostile, and stay with your teams." radioed Maddison to the 192 people under his command. He nodded as a few confirmation messages were radioed in and his people began a house by house sweep towards the centre of town. Things were going fine so far, but Maddison was a bit concerned about how much longer he could expect thier luck to hold out.

OOC: Do what ever you wish, just dont go overboard with it, like nuke my country or somthen, heh. And I did know it was LC maddison, was jsut refering to him as the commander of the entire force.

The land around the town was barren, just shrubbery there and here, unoike the rest of the country where it was covered by lush forest. This was grass land. They had cleared the helicopters almost 15 miunutes ago, and were now all gathered 20 minutes from the town. Talus looked at all the men and women gathered around him, pleased that all fo them gave him thier upmost attention. "The town is a small town, holding at most 3000 people, not much, but enough room to hide. Behind it there hs all tall hill, overlooking the town completely, I want two snipers up there, scouting the area out and reporting in what they see, only open fire when I give permission, got it?" Talus said, staring at the snipers who briskly nodded yes. "Good, I want the rest of us, to split up into small squads of four, and surround the town, get as close to the buildings as you can, once the snipers scouted the area, I will call the action to move in. If you see an armed man, DO NOT open fire, only fire if fired upon, I want to keep our incersion a secret until the last possible minute. LC(just gonna use this) Maddison, you will accompany me, plus two more of your troopers. Ok, is everyone set on what is going to be needed?" Talus looked around at the soldiers crowded around him, as they all nodded. Talus took out his Model 1911 from his side and loaded a fresh mag, Talus coked the gun, grinning. "Ok, lets make it happen"

The group started to jog thier way to the town, almost silently, although Talus, aging, much older than any of the other soldiers, made a small racket, but was decently quiet.

Lt. Colonel Maddison walked quietly along the street of the Sineraian town. He thought it was simply strange how no one was around. He had expected to see someone by now, his personel had searched most of the outlying houses and were now entering the town high school. Someone should have been spotted by now. The silence that surrounded them was deafening. The personal silence that Colonel Maddison was experiencing as he crept along the Sinearian streets was interupted though, as the words of Commander Weir was broadcast to his helmet radio in an urgent voice. "Colonel Maddison, this is Commander Weir, do you copy?" she asked. "I read you fine. What's your status?" asked Maddison, concerned about the tone of Weir's voice. "I think you should see this sir," Weir said. "I'm begining transmission of my helmet video feed. This is what we're seeing at a primary road intersection a bit North of your position". Maddison cursed as he saw what Weir saw, prompting Chief Talus to give him a curious look. "Here," said Maddison, taking off his helmet and handing it to the Chief. "You'll understand once you see Commander Weir's video feed..."

Commander Weir was crouched behind the smouldering wreck of a car with 3 other Lancers, staying out of sight of the 3 dozen or so gang members about 80 metres to thier North. The other 20 members of Weir's personal Lancer team were about 100 metres South and to the left of Weir, where they were hidden behind the remains of a gas station. The video feed that Chief Talus was recieving jostled a bit as Weir moved from her crouching position to lay down under the car inorder to see the gang members and what they were doing. It was a racially diverse group of people, gathered around the twisted remains of what was once a variety store and parking lot. The people assembled amoung the ruins were all male but one - Weir zoomed in on the weakly struggling form of a woman in the tattered remains of a pale blue business suit. It looked like the gang members had tortured and violated her, but she was still weakly fighting the ropes that held her to a concrete pole that was once a structural support for the variety store. The gang members now appeared to be preoccupied with roasting some sort of animal, perhaps a cat or a small dog over an open fire contained in a garbage can, and were for the most part ignoring the woman. Weir panned her view across the dirty, hungry, and in some cases angry faces of the gang members, being sure to capture footage of thier weapons as well. AK-47 assualt rifles, pump action and double barrel shotguns, Uzi and MAC-10 submachine guns, and a variety of handguns, baseball bats and clubs were the armaments of this paticular group. "What should we do?" asked Weir, unsure of how to proceed. Her first instincts were to go in with M-8 rifles blazing, but she wasn't sure how Colonel Maddison and Chief Talus would react to the idea - once the gang members that were probably spread throughout town heard the gunfire, any element of suprise that they might have had would be lost. Still though, Weir clutched her assualt rifle close as she though she could hear Chief Talus thinking as he decided what to do, and hoped that he would let her and her team go in, and go in hard - element of surprise be damned.
