It is a public fact that for every increase of 1 billion citizens the Imperium enlarges. Since the 1 billion mark this has meant increasing the size of the Imperial Armed Forces by 102 divisions, two fleets worth of ships, and several thousand aircraft. However, due to a measure passing in the Imperial Senate that changes in the constitution which political entities within the Imperium are responsible for what and the death of Concordia, a rather large amount of money has become available to the armed forces.
Therefore, the government has decided to take advantage of this once-in-a-century opportunity to fund an inordinate expansion of the Imperial military.
1) Increase the number of support ships in proportion to combat ships in the Imperial Navy. This is necessary to support long-term operations in hostile environments where mutual allied support might not be available.
2) Increase the number of Imperial Fleets from 6 to eight. This is necessary to increase the combat effectiveness of the Imperial Navy and help facilitate deployment in port away from home waters.
3) Increase the number of Assault Fleets from 1 to three. Currently the sealift capability of the Imperial Navy is woefully inadequate and the success of assaults on foreign nations depends, more often than not, on the taking of a large airport near the enemy's coast where from assets can be airlifted and staged from to continue the prosecution of the war.
4) Double the air assets available to the Imperial Aerospace Force.
5) Double the number of Imperial Army and Imperial Marine divisions from 204 to 408. Furthermore, in accordance with the newly mandated OMP requirements for the main naval base in the Indian Ocean, recruit 6 Duchy Guards divisions for home defense and four Imperial Marines divisions to station, on a rotating basis, at the Joint OMP Naval Base - Indian Ocean.
