1612 or 1662?

Fans of Imperialism and Veterans of 1612, I have another idea.
In the famous NS switch to our current server, the popular thread "Colonization - 1612" was deleted. For those of you that participated in it, would you all like to give it another go?
My next question is, should we start from scratch again, or assume that our colonies have all been around for 50 years? I, personally, would like to start it up around 1662, assuming our colonies have all been around for 50 years and are in some stage of success.
So, feel free to post your ideas, comments, etc.
EDIT:
If my memory serves me right, these were the various claims:
Kaufmanstad: RL Virginia and Puerto Rico
Kihameria: RL Maryland
Poznon: RL northern New Jersey
Kay Son: RL North Carolina
I'm sure there were others, I can't remember them

well, either one, perhaps something like... our colonies have been there, and perhaps an extra few.
Only, perhaps get a new contenient, we have had America and southeast Asia+ Pacific.
Perhaps Africa ?
we each have our respective capitols (which have been there for fifty or so years) and a few minor ones, think of it as moving contenients..
but yeah, whatever works, i just thougt maybe a new land...

Hell, I wouldn't mind picking up where we all left off!
Although, I think it would be neat to place it 50 years later.
Warta: Sure, as for a RL location, try some place in the Caribbean, like Haiti, or Cuba.

Whatever works, fifty years later would be cool.
and Warta, if you pick Hati, take the Dominican Republic to, same island, two contries. it would make sense to pick them both.
I'd like to join in and either years are fine with me.

Ok
on board of the Dolphin, somewhere on the atlantic, a fleet of 12 ships sails west. Captain Bloomingsway is taking notes in the shipslog. The mission is to claim land in the caribbian.
"...fourty-five days after leaving port. Rations are cut back to absolute minimum to spare supplies. The men are weak and..."
suddenly a sailor storms in.
"We're near land captain!!!!! We've seen seagulls!!!"
"Good news boy."
Bloomingsway continues to write in the log.
The next day
"Land on starboard!!!"
an hour or so later the fleet reaches land. The settlers begin rightaway to build a fortress and some small houses. After 2 weeks the fort is complete and connons of the ship are being pulled in.
.....to be continued.... ;)

I'll start the actuall thread elsewhere and post the link here.
Just for GP, here are some basic rules.
For vets of 1612, we can all have a maximum of say 7000 settlers, 4 or five towns, with scattered farms, and a militia of say, 500 men? In 1662, I believe the matchlock is phasing out, being replaced by the flint lock. I'm not too sure, I'll do research.
As to naval power, everyone can start off with one large warship and three or four sloops/pinnaces.
Any questions?
EDIT:
Teh new thread!!!1

Excerpt from
Journal of Captain T'sing T'sau Lang
Leader, T'sing T'sun Expeditionary Force
August 4th, 1612
...today whilst exploring the Sarianian Islands, a discovery was made of several colonists whom were blown off course. They did show proof of their claim and their emissary was greated by myself and leading officers of the Expiditionary Force. Compared to Q'in Q'arn, their settlement does not have a capabilities as our colony has for military expiditions and naval explorations. Rather, much of their settlement is of a civilian nature with various fields and mills established for the colony's needs. What is so remarkable about their settlement ("Bekbay Cove") lies in the absence of Natives within the area. They are utterly alone within their settlement and have forged the belief that they were the only people within a 20 league radius. A makeshift warehouse and port has been established for further communications with Q'in Q'arn.
On another note, much of the Colonists have begun to merge with the A'tchui people as well as other natives in the area. Ironically, we have become famous more for our crossbows than our guns, which has been adopted by much of the natives in the area. The current rate of a single 5 bolt bow is equal to 4 baskets of fish and rights of passage in their waters.
As for metal, much of our supplies have been coming from the Kaufstader Mines 1 league NW of here. We have arranged for a smelter and a smithery to be positioned in that vicinity, but this has spurred the need for further fortifications and houses within that area. So far, much of the income of Kaufstader Mining Camp has come from trade rather than actual metal.
