Chardonayan population growth levels off

Due to a dramatically decreasing birthrate in Chardonay, population growth is rapidly approaching zero. THe death rate currently actually exceeds the birth rate by a considerable margin despite an average male life expectancy of 75 years and an average female life expectancy of 80. Despite alarmist statistitions who claim that the dropping birth rate and extended life expectancy will lead to a disproportionately old population, immigration is currently providing enough of an influx of young people that the problem hasn't emerged yet. Iit is not expected that the population will vary for a good many years.

(OOC, I've gotten sick and tired of readjusting my army and economy constantly. From now on, despite what Nationstates says, Chardonay will be frozen at a cool 1 billion Frankly, I'd prefer to stay at 100 000 or 200 000, but since you don't get any respect unless you're over 1 billion, I imagine this will be fine)

OOC: Cool, makes the playing field more level.. esp if more people had the sense to consider this as an option.. I'm pretty much the same, I've made my army one size and it ain't gonna grow much more.. apart from the introduction of new technology etc..

OOC: Just use the Muktari method: have a set military of X troops with Y equipment and Z training for every 1 million of your population. The ultimate solution for both the time-pressed, impatient, and the lazy! That way, your army is self updating, and you only need to adjust for equipment changes.

That only works if you don't have a detailed division based military... one million people aren't enough to equip one of my divisions, and I can't have PARTS of divisions lying around. Besides, I don't WANT my country to have a population that large. It's SILLY.

OOC: I say good on you. I recently re-adjusted Dra-pol's population to a realistic level. Current estimates put the figure at thirty-four million, and damn anyone who can't respect that. If you want my opinion (and I don't really know why you would, so feel free to stop reading here :) ) I think you should put your population wherever you want it, even if that's one hundred thousand, or twenty-seven. It's not like anyone can take advantage and invade unless you agree to let them, and good RPers will respond to good RP, not an arbitrarily assigned population figure.

Hey, good to see you again =) The region moved more or less to The New Commonwealth, here's the URL to the forum

And yes, I've partnered up with Peace and Terror, a close friend. We're co-running the storefront, and there's some decent stuff there. We've had a period of inactivity, but my latest obsession is airships =)

And thanks for all the compliments, makes me feel all warm and fuzzy... I may drop my pop down to 400 million later, but I want to see how this works first.
