How do you combat the problem of salt corroding the gun barrels? Otherwise, very nice.

initial thoughts were to either "Cap" the barrels, which used to work in the old WW2 days.... but became impracticle in this case.... other thought was creating some sort of stowage that they could "fit" in while submerged..... material science however gave better ideas by creating the guns with normal "steel" cores, but then "growing" titanium around the barrels (which is non-corrosive).

An interesting solution. When it comes time to build up out navy (we're soley space, right now) we'll come to you.

How do you deal with the problem of drag off the turrets and gun barrels?

Well, the images show all the turrents in the 0 position, turn them around, to elimiate most of the drag to the 180. The turrents themselves are hydrostatically designed (they're very round see images) vice the traditional blocky ones on surface battleships. Also, some drag was eliminated from the equation by using a conformal fair-water (sail) instead of the more traditional ones.

Even with the turrets in the 180 position, I imagine that you would still have a lot of problems with drag and noise from what amounts to dragging long open tubes through the water. The forward turret barrels might also have clearance issues with your VLS system when in the 180.

You can try to make retractable turrets, like the ones planned for next-generation US destroyers. It'll decrease interior space and produce some engineering headaches, but also eliminate a lot of drag.

Another idea, even simpler (Already updated, the turrents rest into Fairings

Other new features incorporated:
4 Helocopter Hanger (off aft of fair-water), helocopter pad, faired, aft of sail fore of 2nd turrent. Dihedrals with TB array and mission package compartments.
