Invasion of Sanctus Harmoni

Harmonia Mortus
16-09-2004, 03:42
OOC: Not a real nation...technically.
The nation is the last bastion of resistance against the Harmonia Mortus forces, the refuge of the leftover 'good guys' from the first victory when the Forces of Underworld occupied Harmonia. They dont like us.
The nation is pretty well defended, and has a population of something like two million people. Its got good terrain for defenders, but they arent too well armed.

IC:
"Ladies and Gentlemen, world leards, politicians, and average citizenry. The land of Sanctus Harmoni has commited its last crime.
At four thirty yesterday morning an attack was launched against the Unified Kingdoms of Harmonia Mortus, an attack resulting in the death of fourty two citizens and a number of tourists visiting our fair land. The attack consisted of four so-called heros attempting to raid a 'arms factory', actually a museum dedicated to the TRUE heros of the Occupation of the Sunlit Kingdom.
These pathetic specimines of sentient life rushed into the entry of the museum and opened fire with a number of assault weapons apparently obtained through deals with outside powers.
This will not be tolerated.
As of this morning I, Charnel, Keeper of Harmonia Mortus, have authorized a full military occupation of this disgusting nation of savages, terrorists and criminals. 25,000 brave men (Goblins, Trolls, Dark Elves) have been called up for military service."

IC:
The First Army of Harmonia Mortus, 15,000 souls in all, marched out from the moutain.
First came the vanguard of some 5,000 Goblins, mostly armed with short rifles, crossbows, and melee weapons. The vicious buggers all wore an infernal grin, their inch long fangs glinting in the somewhat diluted sunlight of the Harmonian Plain. Banners for each clan waved here and there amoung the crowd.
Next came 750 Trolls, acting as armour. The huge silica-based monsters were mostly armed with large-caliber rifles and machine guns, a few were carrying rams and one or two had what were supposed to be truck-mounted rockets on their backs.
Next the main body of the force, the 7,000 human troops. Each man wore a combination of plate armour and modern ballistic protection, quite an odd combination.
Their weapons were equally diverse, the front ranks conisted of heavily armoured pikemen, carrying 21ft long poles tipped with crystal enhanced steel to drive the tip through almost anything. Their own armour glowed with magic, hopefully protecting them from bullets and other modern arms.
Behind them were the 'real' troops armed with a mix of assault rifles, Kalashnikovs, US M-series weapons, and a number of others. A few light machine guns were scattered about, and roughly a fourth of the troops carried LAWs, RPGs, or anti-aircraft weapons.
The final ranks were hauling the various support weapons, heavy machine guns, mortars, and supplies/ammo.

If one were to cast their attention upward they would see some pretty large shadows. A convienient breeze clears the clouds away for a few moments and...
The HMS Kerrigor floated majesticaly above the army, two other, smaller, ships were taking the flanks.
The sides of the ship bristled with twenty cannons to a side, plus ten Thaum cannons on the deck and a number of other armaments. The ships crew of a seventy eight scurried over this deck area.
The ship looked quite odd, after all, how often do you see a fully armed Ship of the Line floating a hundred feet in the air as if it were perfectly normal?

The odd looking procession of spaceage Tall Ships, medeival armaments, modern guns, Goblins, Humans, Mages, Trolls and elves made its way through Harmonia Mortus. The Defile stretched out before them, seeming endless.
Over the horizon waited their enemy, sworn to destroy them or die trying. They were most likely similarly armed, but had fewer people and were likely to be demoralized.
