"After a series of meetings and discussions within the Grand Soviet of the United Socialist States of Neo-Soviet Russia a decision was made to expand the Armed Forces of the USSNSR in the name of security and defense. This conclusion comes forth after analysis and the suprising realization brought to the forefront of discussion by the Military Council that numbers within the Armed Forces were dramatically small compared to the overall population of the Union. Though the majority of the Grand Soviet agreed in a need for expansion there were disaggreements when it came to the numbers and funds to be appropriated. As it stands though, the USSNSR shall attempt to accomplish a goal of a military equivalent between four and five percent of the total population, approximately fifty- to seventy-million. This number though is subject to possible change. Along with the discussion of reorganizing and expanding the Armed Forces comes debate pertaining to regional militias. This second subject is still being talked over and details will come within the next few days."

We are happy that Neo-Soviet Russia is taking a more active role in the future protection of its citizens. We see this not just as a more secure Neo-Soviet Russia, we see this more as a more secure Gulf of Mexico, Carribean, & the western hemisphere.

(I would advise against this from an OOC perspective having just abandoned an 85million strong army, and indeed a two and a half billion strong population, because it was absolutely no fun at all after a while. Dra-pol is now playing a realistic population, and although the army remains at a high proportion of the populace, it is now barely 1.4million strong. I mean, whatever works for you, but this sort of thing is horribly difficult to use at a reasonable standard of RP, and just makes life harder. With an eye more towards IC concerns I'd say that it does mean you'll have to abandon anything expensive or hi-tech, but Dra-pol would never bother telling you that because we ourselves make do with the cheap, low-tech stuff.)

Nor you Dra. And though I thank you for your concerns I do plan on still maintaining a military force of atleast fifty million. How the USSNSR is at the moment and usually, we rarely see actual conflicts, the action closest being a war game with the ANL navy within the Gulf of Mexico. With that, and how I plan to arrange military forces I don't believe it will be too hard to manage. To the topic of the IC concerns the expansion of the Armed Forces will in essence take a number of years. With that said, and with certain budget adjustments I do believe, though not the highest of technological, the USSNSR should hopefully be able to be at a decent level. This military force too will be the set number for a while, to say the least, giving room for improvements and reequippings later on.

(Nah, you do whatever works for you, really. And yeah, I've been mainly concerned with the process of changing over to a more realistic setting in which Dra-pol's population is in the order of 34million and a new region has been established. I should be causing more trouble again soon enough :) )
