After several years of developing the Lasorian economy, the state run weapons manufacturer Karechov armaments, has released two new assault rifles based upon the venerable AK design.
LAR-2 Bullpup Assault Rifle

Caliber 7.62x39 mm
Action: Gas operated, rotating bolt with 2 lugs
Overall length: 750 mm
Barrel length: 440 mm
Weight, with empty magazine: 3.7 kg
Magazine capacity 30 rounds (40 rounds box magazines and 75 rounds drums from RPK also may be used)
Cyclic rate of fire 600 rounds per minute
Maximum effective range: about 550 meters
Cost: $700
The LAR-2 is similiar to the LAR-1, except that it is a bullpup weapon. Work started on teh weapon only two weeks after the LAR-1 project was started. The purpose of the LAR-2 is more to see if Karechov could create an effective bullpup weapon. The weapon is reliable like the LAR-1, but has a slightly longer barrel and is more accurate. The 3x sight found on the LAR-2 is standard, and the majority of the weapons come with a laser. Many of the weapons also field grenades launchers and lights fitted onto the grenade launcher handle. The weapon is superior to the LAR-1 and AK-47, but comes at greater cost.
These weapons, while originally more of a theoretical development, have been selected for use with the Lasorian special forces. The weapon is also now available for export.
