Basically, I got an idea for a nice little war. Perhaps it'll make some history, it probably won't. But hell, it'll provide some fun for the lucky few who get into it.

This topic comes from the "Washibar invades Central Massachusetts" topic. In it, Washibar makes an advance into Worcester - the capital of CMass. Although CMass made no more replies to the thread after it's first night, I want that idea to live on. And several others from the Mass./R.I. area want something like it to live on as well.

Basically, anyone selected to participate in this war will fight for the New England region. This part of the country splits off from the rest of the United States after a major civil war. Whoever is selected to participate in this war can go after many locales to try and take over the whole region - or just certain parts.

Certain places you can target - but are not limited to - include:
- Massachusetts = Boston, Worcester, Springfield, New Bedford, Lowell
- Connecticut = Hartford, New Haven, Groton, Bridgeport
- Rhode Island = Providence
- New Hampshire = Manchester
- Vermont = Burlington, Rutland
- Maine = Portland, Bangor

I'm not requiring that you be from New England, or know a whole lot about the area. However, it'd be smart that if I select you to join - you eventually learn something about the geography and basic information about New England states/cities and it's citizens demographics.

Please post your sample RP's as replies in this topic. Please make this your own roleplaying work, although it doesn't have to be about this topic.

OK, I may just open this a little bit so I can get more participation. I guess if you're replied so far, you're in. I'll be trusting, but I'd still like to see some sample RPs - especially if you have a low post count or are a newer nation.

Also, you don't have to limit yourself to one specific area. I for example will be roleplaying in several different locales - my strongholds being Fairfield County CT, Windham County CT, and Worcester County MA.

Hmm.... Could I control Cape Cod, Southern Shore, Brockton, Braintree, and Metropolitan Boston Area?

I might want to set up a base or region of control in Maine, preferably somewhere deep in North Maine.

Just wondering, for my purposes, does this count, like claim wise? If it does, which Earth is it? I am from Connecticut, and live practicaly the whole summer on the Thames, so I know a lot about New England, especially southern.
Note: This is not an appilcation, I just want to know what this will be like.

Well, I'm rather lazy and I don't feel like writing up a sample RP post, but I do feel like joining if at all possible. I will assure you that I'm no noob though, and I don't own Nuclear Weapons, which means I won't be throwing nukes around. If I am accepted into this, chances are I will be fighting for the independence and freedom of New England, not for dominance. Damn Lefty governments are like that, y'know?

Sharina - you got to fight for it all. There's no guarantees of anything. It's just a major international madhouse invasion. You can say where you'd like to be located and what places you have the most knowledge of - still nothing says you're going to have it.

Bonesacke - If you're from Windham and vacation on the Thames. You don't go very far. Unless it's like Woodstock or Ashford to Groton.

Anyway, this is based on real life geography. As for what NS earth this really is, it doesn't matter. We can make one up solely for this RP and basically trash this corner of the globe.

Tenarius - no weapons of mass destruction will be allowed. Not like 10 invading nations WON'T create a lot of destruction anyway. Especially since everyone wants Boston metro.

Good, I hate WMD's, they take all the fun away. Anyway, if I'm allowed in I'll probably be shooting for partial control of Maine, forested enough for my taste.

Actually, I live in Chaplin and go to New London on the weekends. Besides that, I know a lot about the state, and more than most people about the region. I have relatives all over CT and Mass, and I go to New Hampshire at least once a year. While I am in New London I go boating all over, as far as Block Island, and when our GPS broke, we had to learn a lot about the coast.

I would like to apply to join the RP now, as the Sicilian Revolution thread I had going isn't very active as is now.

What are the populations going to be? The population of the area or our nation's population? (Which I don't think would be a good idea.)

Hallad: For our sake, RL current populations will be used. Armies will not be too outrageous. After all, how can you get a million MORE people from your army in about 100 square miles of dense populated areas?

Bonesacke: Whatever. If I get bored, I might make a run on you. But that might be tough fighting for Worcester, Bridgeport, and Danbury areas. I mostly want the Windham Cty towns to the north and east. Where you're on the south and west.

Beta A: I'd like to get some invasion of the places first. 10-20 armies moving in on each other at the same time at nearly the same location is just mouth wateringly brutal and insane.

What's the point of just being in one spot and staying there? The way I see it, everyone thinks they're gonna start out in their hometowns and just sit there. Which seems stupid, there's be no point for a RP thread. So (a) invade the hometowns you want and the surrounding areas and (b) start expanding your empire or knocking back anything holding you back.

Okay. I'll be happy with starting out as Boston.

I guess you could call us up and coming, as the middle school teams just have absoulutly no experience. Thats what happens when all you got is rec teams till 7th grade....

Gee. At this rate I could take western Massachusetts, the North Shore and Lowell, Vermont, New Hampshire, and southern Maine no problems. Apparently nobody wants it, and nobody would fight me (except Gulf States) to get any additional territory. Which is probably want Gulf wants in this.

It seems like everyone wants to live in equal harmony, predominantly in southwestern Connecticut - when the mission of this, IMO, is to try and take over the entire region.

I claimed Metropolitan Boston and Cape Cod. What I meant by South Shore was it being a part of my Metropolitan Boston.

My claim would run from Metropolitan Boston (Boston, Newton, Watertown, Brighton, Braintree, Brockton, Stoughton, Avon, etc.) through the South Shore, then to Cape Cod.

Hope that clears things up. :)

Quahog doesn't exist. Some say it's near Narraganssett in RL, others thing Pascoag. If it's Pascoag, that's my territory. If it's 'Ganssett - there's a few others around Providence.
