Wainfleet
15-09-2004, 02:11
The Royal Family had gathered together to dedicate this day to the people of Wainfleet. This was the first time that the entire Royal Family had met together on such an occasion. All 12 of them gathered together at the massive dinner table, filled with various décor that represented the nation quite nicely. The candles at the center of the table, which numbered to be 7, represented the amount of years Wainfleet has struggled to gain its independence from foreigners. There were two heads of the table, in this banquet, Emperor Galcian, and his wife, Empress Fina. These two were a unique pair to say the least. They were one of the main reasons that Wainfleet was able to gain its independence without more, unnecessary bloodshed. The marriage between Galcian, the then, rebel leader of Wainfleet, and the Princess of Goldana, Fina, eloped. This brought the two nations to negotiations because of the risk of killing their own daughter. Goldana then decided to give Wainfleet its complete independence. To this day, Goldana says that their marriage had nothing to do with the decision to grant Wainfleet its independence, but it was well known that the opposite was true. The members of the Royal Family of Wainfleet do not consist of any of Fina’s relatives, for they refused to take part in a celebration of independence of a rebel group. However, secretly, they sent their congratulations. If that were to ever be known among the world, that members of the Goldanian Royal Family wished the rebels good luck, there would be harsh criticism coming from the entire world.
Each member of the Royal Family began to divulge in discussion with the others. It was the best day that anyone could have imagined. The first day of Wainfleet independence, which is what each of them have longed to achieve for so long. Of course, there are those unfortunate souls who didn’t make it to see this day. To them, God Bless. One of those men who didn’t make it was Galcian’s eldest brother, Rufus. He just recently died, before the union of Galcian and Fina. For many days, Galcian wept. He would stay alone, in his room, and cry the entire day away. He felt there was something he should have done to save him, but alas, there was not a single thing he could do to save him. His death will not be forgotten though. The Emperor has begun the construction of a statue of Rufus in front of the Imperial Palace, where he resided. That way, every time he left the house, he’d be reminded of the way Rufus left his home to fight for freedom, and every time he would come back, Galcian would be reminded of Rufus’ true home, which is in heaven. This gave him a sort of closure with his brother.
Galcian and Fina, at that point, stood up together, and called for everyone to be silent.
“Cheers to the Royal Family of Wainfleet, and cheers to full independence!”
Everyone rose their glasses, and yelled out, “Cheers!”. Galcian sat down, but Fina remained standing. After about 10 seconds of cheering, it died down as they all awaited a response from Fina. Her face looked very serious…grave perhaps, but as she made a quick look around the room, seeing all of those happy faces, she finally smiled.
“God Bless Wainfleet!”
At that point, the entire Royal Family erupted in applause and cheers. Fina rarely showed emotion, but today….she began to cry out of joy. The joy one feels when they’ve given birth to a child. A hypothetical child that is, representing the nation of Wainfleet. Today was their birth as a nation, and they looked to celebrate it with others who knew of their victory.
Transmission to Nations of the World:
“We wish to invite leaders of all nations and of all peoples to join us in a celebration of independence, not only for our nation, but for your nations as well. We now live in a free world, full of hope. We wish to hear about other nations’ struggles for independence, as we also wish to inform others of ours as well. Your leaders are invited to attend a banquet within the Imperial Palace Dining Hall tomorrow, although, we will be admitting anyone who comes earlier than tomorrow to stay the night within our Palace. We feel that our hospitality of letting other leaders stay within the same building as our leaders shows a sign of unity and equality among all. Please let us know as soon as possible whether you would like to attend, or if you just wish to offer your praises to the celebration of our independence. After the Dinner tomorrow, we will be having a fireworks spectacular behind the Palace. After this, nations have the choice of staying one more night, which is preferred, because we don’t want anything to happen to any of the leaders that decide to leave late at night. God Bless!”
