It was a foggy morning in the Communist Louisiana city of Beaumont, Texas. Sounds of industrial equipment and early morning traffic on the Interstate filled the morning air. Small flashing lights were barely visible on top of the buildings and petrochemical crack towers. It seemed like your average morning in Beaumont, but that was to change very quickly. In the small suburb of the city, an argument was taking form. A middle aged walked from the gates of the CITGO Petrochemical Plant #9. He looked at the security gate and waved to the guard who is was very good friends with after the 13 years of working the plant.

Worker (James May) – Hey John. How are your kids?

Guard (John Weatherford) – There doing good. Hey, did you hear? The territory of Texas is now under control of new founded nation of Modern Texas.

Worker (James May) – Is that right… Well, we are still under Louisiana control right?

Guard (John Weatherford) – Currently, but word is a lot of the company leaders are trying to talk the workers union leaders into helping this Texas part of Louisiana succeed and join Modern Texas. They say that we the workers would make a lot more money and would actually get to own our own land plus other benefits that would follow if we did join Modern Texas.

Worker (James May) –Damn, that sounds really good, but would we have full medical coverage and other benefits we receive with the Louisianaian government? I mean making an extra ten thousand dollars a year would be nice, but I mean, Louisiana does give us a lot of extra benefits.

Guard (John Weatherford) –Well, that’s the only disadvantage about joining Modern Texas. But, we would see our tax rates drop so much that we would be making twice as much as we are now so we could easily pay for our own medical expenses.

The two men continued to chat at the gate for a couple more minutes. James swiped his security card and punched out on the clock. It was 7:30 a.m. and he was ready to go home and get some rest.

OCC: This is the beginning to a rebellion RP. I will add more later tonight or tomorrow afternoon. You may for the moment only tag and keep up with the current situation. I am starting this from the beginning to begin a really good story supporting the rebellion. I ask that comments be made either IC or OOC until the major events start to unfold even more. I also ask that if you wish to become involved, that you ask. I would like this to be a decent RP.

James May arrived at home just in time to see his 17-year-old son off the school and to eat a good breakfast his wife cooked. As he ate and drank his coffee, he picked up the newspaper and stared at the headline “Territorial Government Sends Message of Separation to Communist Louisiana!” As he continues to read the paper, he is amazed at the utter speed that the government to leave the Louisiana territory. He looks at the charts on the bottom of the article showing the amount of money he could be making if the territory becomes a territory of Modern Texas. As he finishes his paper and his coffee, he has thoughts of his employers and his home territory becoming privatized and part of the Texas territory. After about thirty minutes of this, he stands and kisses his wife of 20 years on her cheek. He walks up stairs to his bathroom where he begins his shower. After getting out of the shower he begins dries himself off, and gets his clothes on. He lies down on his bed and turns on the television and watches as the local news reports “Demonstrations are taking place on the steps of the Legislative building and courthouse. There have been twenty arrests due to rioters throwing rocks at local police officials and trying to turn the protest into a violent one. We will keep you up to date with the events unfolding in Beaumont.” He sighs deeply and turns off the television and falls asleep.

‘A couple of hours later’

His wife wakes James suddenly; she looks at him with a grim look on her face

James’s Wife (Linda May) – Honey, rioters have started taking up arms against the police at the protest. So far they have killed 3 police and the rest of the police have pulled out! The rioters have stormed both the courthouse and the Legislative building and they have taken down the flag and burned it. They have replaced the Communist Louisiana flag with an old Texas flag.

James looks at her seriously and then turns on the television, which tells him, the same information his wife has. It also announces that the CL government will begin to move in troops to quell the rioters and the rebellion. As he continued to watch, with his wife still standing next to the bed, the anchorman cuts off his co-anchors report to announce, “Rioters seem to be attempting to take the Nederland armory. They supposedly have killed the small group of twenty-seven guards and are ran-sacking the armory for weapons and other equipment.” The anchorman is cut off by a live feed coming in from the capital of New Orleans. It is Premier Bobby Jindal standing in front of the capital building. He looks very upset and stressed. He begins speaking into the camera “We have recently been notified that an armed group of rebels have began to protest Louisianaian control of Beaumont and the rest of the Texas territory held by Communist Louisiana. We have also have been notified that the group has raided the Nederland armory and has stolen weaponry which belongs to the Louisianaian government.” He stops speaking momentarily to wipe the sweat off his face with a rag. “We are at this moment trying to attain contact with the leader of these rioters. We will only say this one time, all rioters are to cease and assist all actions. We will give you full immunity if you stop your actions now. If you do not cease and assist, we will use force to put down this rebellion against the state. We will use lethal force if necessary.” He looks into the camera without blinking and repeats the last two sentences. The feed is cut and it is returned to the local news station.

James got out of his bed. He walked slowly towards the window still halfway asleep. He looked out of the window. He was amazed as large amounts of black smoke rise into the sky. This proved beyond a doubt that there was something happening in downtown Beaumont. By now, it was close to 3:00 p.m. He heard a loud diesel engine and looked down to the street in front of his home. The school bus was dropping off this son (Kevin May).

James May- Kevin is home. We are not to speak about the current situation. I dont want him to be fearful of what is happening.

Linda May- Alright... What do we do if he ask? I mean, he probably has heard many rumors while at school.

James May- I will talk to him if he ask any questions.

James heard the door open and close downstairs. He heard his son, apparently in a hurry, run up the stairs to his room. James quickly got dressed as his wife went back stairs within five minutes. Kevin came downstairs and looked at his parents.

Kevin May- Is it true what I have heard on the radio and from my friends about the rioters?

James May- What exactly did you hear?

Kevin May- Rebels captured the Nederland armory and the taking down of the Communist Louisianaian flag...

James May- Yes, Premier Jindal has broadcasted a message saying that lethal force will be used if the violent protest dont stop.

Keven May- The teachers at school say that we should become apart of Modern Texas or become our own independent nation. Our physical education teacher quit today to join the Nederland militia to fight against Communist Louisiana.

James May- What is your view on the whole conflict?

Kevin May- I think that our territory should have the right to govern itself or to join any nation we wish.

James looked blankly at his son. Suddenly the house shook and the sound of a loud explosion fillied the air. Kevin ran outside and yelled for his father. James ran quickly outside and the both staired at the large plum of smoke and fire. James motioned his son to come back inside. They turned on the television and staired as an announcement came up on the television. "CITGO Petrochemical Plant #5 has been attacked. Reports comming say that one of the plants crude oil holding tanks have been destroyed with RPG's stolen from the Nederland Armory that was ransacked." The father and son looked at each other.

Though typically in favor of the rights of man and the ability to govern one's self we feel that with the turn to violence with little to no known signs of attempted negotiation by the offending party towards the nation of Communist Louisiana, which we believe to be a peaceful and respectable nation, this could be a matter of concern for not only Communst Louisiana and Modern Texas, but other nations of the region such as the United Socialist States of Neo-Soviet Russia.

"Sir, I think you should send some kind of message to the insurgents. They want Modern Texas to annex them if they can't form their own government."

"I know, Roger, I've been thinking that myself. They need to be aware that we have no interest in them. We shall release a statement stating such."

This government has been informed of you recent uprising against Communist Louisiana. We deplore this action and urge you to come to your senses. We have no desire to assist you in your rebellion and, to the contrary, we will aid our ally Communist Louisiana in their efforts to maintain peace and order.

We have been given full power to move in units to quell the rebellion. We have given all rioters time to surrender and few have. Recent attacks on the CITGO plants and the murdering of innocent civilians gives our troops the right to use lethal force if necessary.

We fill that we have given much to the territory. While we do not see protesting as illegal, we do see an attempt of a violent overthrowing of the current government in control is illegal. "Shit!" he exclaimed, banging his fist on the desk. Ferriday stood up and walked to the window. "I've heard nothing from Premier Jindal." His eyes were pierced as the afternoon sun filled the room. Ferriday rubbed his beard, as he often did when contemplating. "Get Defense Minister Wilkinson on the phone. Tell her I'm ready to move ahead with our plan."

"Hello, Buzz. I heard the bad news. What the hell is going on?" offered Minister Wilkinson.

"Yeah, Ann, this shit got out of hand and is now headed our way. Listen, lets stop this damn thing right here and now," he demanded.

Ann let out a giggle. She was a warmonger and loved the thrill of a good fight. She had been restrained by Ferriday over the last several months for political reasons. She understood that, but was now ready for a fight.

"We'll mobilize the A-10s from the 31st Tactical Squadron in San Antonio," she replied. "They can be in Galveston in half an hour."

"Excellent." A sly grin crossed the president's face. Ferriday was every bit the warmonger that Ann was. That was probably what made them click so well together. There was a chemistry between them that neither understood, nor acknowledged, but it was definitely there. "Oh, make sure they have their cameras rolling," he added with a chuckle.

"I wouldn't have it any other way." *click*

Ann hung up the phone and called the commander at Lackland. "Do it. And don't leave a single one standing."

A readjsutment of numbers has been made and we shall be sending a total of ten-thousand men, not the original estimate of six-thousand. This due to easier managment of numbers and to help assure that if something were to occur we'd be able to help steady it more easily.

Any troops other than this that are present will purely be logistical, though at this moment we feel we will not need to bring these people about, instead offering jobs with decent pay and possibly renting out equipment from local vendors.

We have neutralized insurgents in Galveston. What the A-10's didn't get, our special forces will. We have confirmed kills on most of the local leadership, but the big wigs are still on the run. The last update had them turning back towards Beaumont. We have an armored division (21,000 troops) and an infantry division (18,000 troops) following them, along with fresh A-10's. We will meet you in Beaumont and surround these dirty bastards.

Since you have disposed of the infidels from Hataria, we are recalling our F-18's back to the RMT Ronald Reagan stationed in Galveston Bay.

Some 3,000 troops began to march into Orange, Texas. There was little resistance, mostly cheer from the majority who were loyalist to CL.
