OOC:Well, since my navy is downright puny at the moment, and IDF and TIOR blew up a good chunk of my current one, I've decided to expand. Here's what I'm building(note, I'm deliberately saying smaller amounts of ships I'm building to confuse spies, but you crazy liberals out there can feel free to see the stuff being constructed with satleties, and 'be disturbed at this act of evil') -

I think more logisitical ships wouldn't hurt. The numbers are realistic and actually quite small, you can afford more.

I agree but have something else to add: since most of the ships you are ordering are oil fired you need to include some tankers in your orders as they are specialized ships and not simply logistics vessels.

I'd place more logistics ships there too. I think the usual ratio is about 3 or 4 combat ships for 1 AOR/AO. Of course the more support vessels you have, the better you can support ops further afield. Incidentally, it's good to specify types - for instance, to name Russian types, you could have Berezina, Boris Chilikin, or Ugra-class ships, each of which fulfil quite a specific role.

I have 22 or 21 for my RL type vessel fleets. My other ones are between 70, and 120 vessels. Those are my capital fleets.

Are you telling me I can have 100 legitimate Naval Fleets? Though my Air Force is big, why look at my factbook!

It might be unrealisic to have 100 fleets, just think of the logistcis involved, do you even have enough ports for them to anchor at? Your earlier statement of forces was much more realistic.

I even saw a newbie take out 200 Carriers and 1,000 Destroyers and Subs, for a battle.

Yes, thats about the number I have, my Navy is patterned on the US navy, so my carrier battle groups have a max of 3 Carriers(Normally only one) and theri associated escorts, usually there are 2-3 Aegeis cruisers and assorted escorts and logistics ships per carrier. Normally the number runs between 15 and 20 ships in a fleet for me, not counting subs, usually there are 2. So I have a total of 200 ships that I can put to sea at one time.

OOC: I will tg you , BTW most battle fleets which are not assaulting land do not have Hospital or Rescue/Salvage vessels with them they just slow down the fleet and are a headache to defend as they are very easy targets. Most ships have hosiptals inside them so there is no need for a dedicated ship to serve that purpose.

OOC:I've already got a good surplus of tankers and logistics vessles, these new ones are just being constructed to compensate more. Wow, I leave the thread for a few hours, think it dies, and it grows to two pages...
