Major Devries stood with the Lasorian flag in one hand, and an AK-47 in the other. He stood on the wind swept, snow covered plains on the outskirts of Haven, a key in Lasoria's economic future because of the converging rail lines, and new mine being opened up no more than a hundred kilometers away. Laid out before him, in precise military formation, were the men and women of the second infantry battalion, first regiment.

A dozen BMP-1 AFVs, and some six hundred infantry made up the battalion. Major Devries had just finished a speech when an RPG streaked out from a window in a nearby building. The RPG slammed into one of the BMPs as three more rockets were launched.

Two more BMPs went down, but the final one managed to gun its engine and jerk forward as the RPG smashed into the ground it had just resided on seconds before. The infantry scattered and poured fire into the buildings, while, from under what the troops had dismissed as mounds of snow, RPD-wielding capitalist fighters emerged around them, gunning down more than a hundred of the Lasorian infantry.

Major Devries marshalled a hundred men around him and they gunned down the Capitalist fighters, as one of the SVD wielding snipers took down the last of the Capitalist RPGs.

The sounds of battle drifted over to the troops as explosions rocked the center of Haven. Some of the men and women of the second battalion, first regiment, hopped into the back of the AFVs and they drove towards the center of town while the rest of the battalion jogged down the streets, sending off platoons to attack from multiple angles.

Then, as the battalion had split up into smaller groups, fire roared from windows and molotov cocktails set the streets, and many of the infantry, ablaze. Reports filled the radio from the BMPs who had encountered heavy resistance and lost half their number. Many of the seperated platoons were cut to pieces as Capitalist fighters made their way from building to building, and picked apart the Lasorian infantry man by man.

Major Devries was shot dead by a capitalist sniper, and his second in command, Captain Johanson, ordered the retreat. The wounded were left behind as the Lasorian soldiers decided against any semblance of an organized retreat and simply ran for their lives.

By the time they made it out of the town and regrouped a kilometer out, only one hundred seventy three infantry and four BMPs were left. Captain Johanson put out a call for reinforcements and the other battalions of first regiment, and the entire second regiment, headed towards Haven.

The Empire of Fate and Honor has decided to back the Capitlist Freedom Fighters. They should be granted the city, and one outlying provence for their new nation. Any further attempt to destroy them will be seen by us as agression against another nation. Moleland officially supports the capitalists, however they do not support their armed coup. Moleland wishes to act as mediator between the government and capitalists. Moleand wishes that that capitlaists and Government lay down their arms, and come to a conference, hosted on neutral ground

You are in no position to tell what our sovereign nation will or will not do. We understand your argument, but we decline. This is a sovereign nation, they may rule their economy as they like. We run on a feudal system, which makes us seperate from socialism and capitalism, though recently we have been incorporating policies from both sides of the spectrum to create a more perfect system.

That said, we will not be committing any support to their cause. Omicron Alpha Government must HIRE troops to use in any military engagement. And quite frankly, we see no profit in this for us. Unless the capitalists can raise the money to hire troops from OMilitary Ltd or a similar company on their own, then they are just that -- on their own. Or, if they can guarantee us a profitable enough offer to negate the cost of a military force and then some in the future. Otherwise, you will have little but our praise.

An artillery company from the third regiment setup a position on one of the few hills surrounding Haven. Once established, they opened fire on suspected capitalist positions, crushing houses and apartment buildings that were being used for cover as capitalist fighters were flushed out onto the streets. A dozen Mig-17s flew overhead, dropping bombs and unleashing a storm of cannon fire at capitalist troops.

Lasorian snipers with .50 cal sniper rifles set themselves up around the city, throwing camo nets over themselves or burrowing in the snow, and started picking off the capitalist troops on the edge of the city as a battalion of 36 T-72s and two battalions of APCs and IFVs escorted by an infantry battalion pulled up to the city in preparation for an all out assault.

The Lasorian troops made their way down the main road that ran through the center of the city, falling under attack, and sending RPGs, AK fire, and cannon fire ripping through the buildings. Five of the T-72s were charred corpses scattered back behind the main force, and dozens of infantry had fallen.

As the Lasorian troops neared the center of the city, the buildings got larger, and the fighting more intense. The column came up to an extra dangerous spot as they became flanked on both sides by wide apartment buildings and gunfire erupted from them. An RPG streaked into a T-72's tread, while the tanks cannon sent a shell into the bottom corner of the building.

Lasorian infantry started to storm the buildings, working their way through each building from the inside while their comrades outside picked off the Capitalist fighters. An enemy fighter popped out of a window with two RPGs, one on each shoulder, rest the front of the heavy weapons on the window sill for support, he fired them both off at a fully loaded APC that was driving towads the building's base to unload its 20 infantry. Most of the soldiers inside were killed instantly, while others were pulled out of the wreckage screaming and slowly died on the ground while medics tried desperately to save them.

The buildings were finally cleared out, but at a significant cost in Lasorian life. The column started up again when the first regiment's colonel came over the radio with an update, "the facists have taken control of the schools and theaters in addition to city hall, and are barricading themselves in, take up perimeter positions and await allied air support."

The column split up, and with reinforcements from outside the city established a perimet outside the theaters, schools, and city hall.

From one of the movie theaters, RPGs streaked out towards the advancing column. A pair of Mig-17s streaked in towards the building, unleashing a furious storm of cannon fire into it and driving the rebels back into the building's lobby when they pulled up and each sent a pair of bombs flying into the front of the building.

The bombs exploded, sending debris and bodies in every direction as the front of the building collapsed in, crushing dozens of rebels. The Lasorian tanks poured cannon fire into the bottom of the building, blowing open large holes where infantry stormed the building and killed the rest of the rebels inside.

At the other buildings, the Lasorian troops established a perimeter, exchanging only light fire with each other with no casualties before both sides took cover to avoid snipers. The Lasorians waited for their own Migs to reload and to await the arrival of Dirtyfrank F-15s and Mig-29s.

However, I must respectfully decline the offer, as the rebels have been contained, and we already have several Dirtyfrank fighters enroute to help end this standoff. Also, the units offered, while certainly powerful, if we used them against the rebels it would be akin to using a company of SAM vehicles to take down a fly.

We will fly over a diplomat team at once, and we will begin construction of a new embassy in our capital city of New Loras for your diplomats. For the time being, the government headquarters, a palace leftover from the old regime, has a lot of spare room inside that I am sure will be more than suitable.

*Two MiG-29’s scream over the horizon followed by two F-15 Strike Eagle fighter bombers flanked by two more MiG-29’s. The six jets drop their altitude so that they are flying just above the tree line. In the distance, explosions can be seen and cries of distress crackle over the airwaves. The lead MiG pilot receives the go ahead for the air strike and notifies the rest of his squadron. With missiles armed and their targets fast approaching, each plane fires two AS-16 Kickbacks and proceeds to climb to a safe height. All twelve missiles slam home in an apartment complex suspected of housing the Capitalists. The four buildings erupt in a ball of fire, sending wood planks, body parts, insulation, and various other debris into the air and land surrounding them.*

Lead Pilot: Commander, target successfully struck and eliminated. Repeat, target is eliminated. Over.

HQ: Excellent work boys, fly in a holding pattern and remain in the area in case needed. Over.

LP: Roger that HQ…over.

OOC: I'd like to get in on this if possible. So far, not too man people have joined in, and it would be a much better RP if it continued going for a longer period of time. Too bad the rebels seem to be beaten already.

OOC: North Germania, the civil war itself is over, these are just remnants trying to start up the fighting again, but they've been utterly crushed otherwise. However, I could do a historical RP of the actual civil war if you were interested

Major Johnson had been assigned command of the sixth legion(Taureg)by the leader of The Confederacy Of Harlesburg Edward the Phoenix Duke de Harlesburg.He was honoured by such a posting as the sixth was a strong unit with a proud heritage they had served and fought well in previous campaigns.
The Tauregs were a unit of middle eastern extraction and as such were ferocious warriors.
As the Legion rolled through the streets it looked as though the battle was over although sporadic fire could still be heard on differnt streets in the area it had come across the radio that migs had pummled the rebel strong points and were now being cleared out by lasorian Infantry.
Johnson assessed the situation and it looked like all was under control,a disapointment for him as he wished to join combat in any areas still being fought over with the rebels.
Lasorian infantry were rounding up prisoners(not that there were too many)in the streets and so Major Johnson wished to look for the commander of his forces.Scouts were sent out to find the commander and to see if any more trouble spots were springing up

The battle was coming to a close, most of the remaining capitalist troops had fled to the sewers, where they had established a command post where they hoped to hold out long enough to negotiate. Some capitalist troops still remained barricaded city hall.

Colonel Hadfel of the third regiment was about to order his men to attack the city hall when a Harlesburg soldier approached him, saying his commander wanted to speak with him. Hadfel ordered his men to hold while he went to speak with the Harlesburg officer.

Hadfel told the Harlesburg commander that he could take city hall if he wanted, and started redeploying his men to help in the sewer sweeping operation.

After meeting with Colonel Hadfel It was agreed that the Sixth could participate in flushing out the insurgents from the city hall a grand building of corinthian?gothic architecture.
"Hassim get your worthless butt here" said Johnson
"What is it Major?"
"We need to take this position i want two squads on those roof tops and your company to storm the entrance after Braddock's and Hunters have blown those doors out the rest will protect our flanks and keep those windows up there silent!"

As sporadic fire could be heard else where in the city things were begining to heat up Hassims men slowly moved thru the lines and were now 60 meters from the entrance large plant tubs were situated at the sides of the doors and these led to two rows of palm trees some already hit by fire had lost their leaves with the snipers in position the whole unit opened up and Hassims men surged forward rockets hit the blocked entrance and cleared the way rebels falling to the sides with Hassims troops pouring in the fire to the entrance was redirected to the upper windows and follow up units held the front doors...

Hassims men rushed thru the doors the acrid smoke cling to the roof and walls that would have to be put out as it might interfer with our exit once this place is cleared he thought.
Two doors on the left and two on the right and a long corridor leading from the forum up to some stairs leading to the offices he imagined first they would clear these rooms a squad was sent into each room rushing the dazed and confused defenders bullets ripping into their bodies piercing their lungs as they gasped for breath from the smoke grenades lobbed into the rooms before hand.
After a quick check for casulties it was onto the next obstacle...

As the harlesburg troops stormed the building with smoke grenades, John Fenderson grabbed a dozen men and fell back to a more defensible position, waiting for the Harlesburg troops to come into the storage room they were hiding in.
When the Harlesburg troops smashed open the storage room door, John started firing off his machine gun while the others in the room opened up with sub machine guns and rifles, dropping several Harlesburg soldiers.

Grenades were flung in the room and half the capitalists were killed or wounded when they failed to dash for cover in time. The others rushed out, taking down two Harlesburg soldiers before being cut to pieces.

A blood curdling scream came out of the troops around Hassim as they were hit by the fire of the Troops ahead of them as many as three of his men had gone down but there was not enough time to worry about that at present they would be cared for by the follow up units Hassim fired off his clip and then lobbed in a grenade the rest of the squad did the same clearing the room of the incurgents.
Some shrill cries were heard but they eventually faltered into nothingness.
Hassim picked up his wary troops and indicated to the desk down the hall that could be a machine-gun nest so it would block there access to the upper levels it must be taken out.

As Hassim's men left the room Hunter's troops ran past them straight into the fire of the concealed machinegun nest although it was more light machine gun than heavy as they were armed with the NAZI made MP-44 the first known assault rifle.

Hassim yelled out in horror as Hunter's troop ran through the hall he saw them fall as they were hit by the 7.92mm rounds,they were completly broadsided none of the dead saw the one that got them the rest were only saved by the trooper beside them who had caught the bullets in their bodies.

Hassims six remaining men of the nine he had with him originaly(two dead one seriously wounded) quickly got themselves into position firing on the main desk,three rebels jumped forward firing at the squad while two went to run up the stairs.

Kurt Braddock and his men came running thru assisting Hassims pinned down troops hitting two of the sentinels while one ran up the stairs.Braddock fired off his HK G-36 the bullet hitting one of the terr's in the back felling him while the other two scrambled up the stairs and out of sight.

As Hassims men stood down and took care of the survivors from Hunter's squad Braddocks men raced up the flight of stairs followed by O'Rourke"s and Shanahan's squads,these had been holding the entrance but were now deployed in the chamber.

As the squads were storming the building from the inside two squads were scaling the eastern wall which had a Rose bush climbing up the wall the troops used the cross pattern as a footing and climbed into the building thru a window off of a veranda.

As Passau's squad secured the room they had entered three of the enemy ran past in a hurry they were surronded now by these two squads and the two coming up the stairs stun grenades were flung at them felling them.
As the squads joined up they secured the top floor and went about bringing the prisoners down to Major Johnson's position.
The prisoners would be sent to the Lasorian Command post for interragation.
