Today the 416th Defense Appropriations Edict of the GRE came into action. This increases annual defense spending by $54 billion. $13 billion of this will pay for annual upkeep and $14 billion for research. Of this, $3 billion will help fund research into upgraded nuclear weaponry. This year's increase in nuclear funding was cut down with the recent completion of the Imperator Strategic Missile Defense System, provided by the Imperial Knights. Finally, $27 billion will go to the production and training of new units.
