In front of a packed news conference in Krasniy Novgorod today, Prime Minister Marcus Jones and Kaiser Alec Mannerheim of the Empire of Sevaris signed the Novgorod Pact, a Mutual Defence Pact.
Terms of the Pact:
1) The signatory nations agree to undertake to render aid to one another should either party be attacked by a Foreign power without suiteable cause, without question or condition, and with no expectation of obliged payment in any manner.
2) Suitable cause for a nation to attack either signatory party is considered to have been reach if the attacked signatory has made an overt attack upon the nation now attacking the defending party.
3) If the above suitable cause for attack has occurred, the other party is not obliged to aid the defending party.
4) Aid can comprise but is not limited to: food, water, blankets and clothing, accommodation facilities, contrsuction equipment, personnel for the above, military personnel, weapons.
5) The signatories are not obliged in any way to assist one another should either of them launch an offevsive war, and may choose to oppose the other signatory in such a conflict if they so wish.
