10:33 PM...a priest is walking across the street to the rectory from his church. "FATHER" The priest turned. *bang bang* went the gun. he collapsed. He was going to die. Then a van pulled up and shot him again. He died. The other suspect jumped in the van. There were 2 in the van.
5 days later...
"Cardinal, we have arrested both of the suspects in Father O'Mallian."
"Good, just, just, um, I dont know, put them before a tribunal. Ill preside."

Court is now in session. In the middle was Cardinal DeVito. On either side of him were his auxillary bishops, Bishops Ryan and O'Reilly.
5 hours later
The Cardinal yeled "Guilty, we hereby sentance you to life in prison.*"

OOC: Hey, Im not gettin involved in this unless theres something bad, but your court system sounds a little one sided, in all your RP's, I have never heard ANYONE win a trial. Can I have a little explanation on how your court system works?

ooc-It works like this. It is a church tribunal for all charges no matter what. Depending on the charge and severity of the charge, that is how many vicars will be appointed to preside. Sometimes in seriuos cases, theCardinal will preside as the head judge. They debate over it and majority rules. If there is only one judge, he decides. All cases can be appealed to the High Tribunal. There decision is final. Only the Cardinal can pardon somebody. There are no lawyers except in the military. (The court marshalls in the military are the same as in America except a priest presides). No procecuters no defence attorneys for criminal cases. there are for civel though.
Now tell me how yours is run.

Our law and order system is almost exactly like that of the real United States of America, with a few changes,
-There is no Death Penelty, the highest scentince is Imprisonment for a century, and since most of my citizens live to be 175 (Excluding Human and Bermecian) It obviously isn't a life scentince.
-For smaller offenders, they have a choice of what prison they wish to attend. (Out of a list of availiable candidates)
-If a judge or jury seems partisaned, they can be reformed by a non partisaned party, it always consists of - 3 Raptors, 3 Humans, 3 Bermecians
-An availiable punishment is a mind block, in which all memories and such are temporarily blocked. The person who is charged with something may choose this as a punishment, It CANNOT be forced upon them.
-You can choose to, instead of have 1 judge to have three, one of each race, and all totally non-partisaned.
-All men are equel before the law, be they Priest, president, or Crack Adict.
