Fate and Honor Nuclear Program Report

Fate and Honor

The Federation of Fate and Honor hereby makes it known to the international community that our nuclear program has been a complete sucess. We have suceeded in the coupled development of both a carrier missile and Thermo-Nuclear Warhead which are both already in our possesion. The missile, named the FH-1, can be viewed below in the early blueprint form. We will not release the final models as the risk of the theft of our technology is high. As of the moment, the cost per each missile coupled with the warhead is $15,000,000.00 a piece. The missiles are available for purchase so long as a nation also buys the rights to the model and rights to manufacture along with it.

And how much would it cost to buy the rights, production etc

P:S As for purchasing the Nuclear Arms itself, that will not be required..

I got enough of the resources to start a program of a sort...This is due strong economy, and lack of wasted goverment spending....Of course you would not expect a nation of 10 million to build a huge varity of missles but it still is within my buget to start A nuclear project...

Of course a new nation can start a nuclear program, but its very costly and probalby more benificial to begin with ensuring your people have what they need.

OOC:

Or you could buy one from a storefront (if you can afford it), and then study it in detail.

Also what helps nuclear programs is offering money to scientists from other nations to leak details, like the scientist from Pakistan, the brainchild of Pakinstan's nuclear program, who was found to have sold secrets to Iran and North Korea.

And of course, offering money to foreign scientists to move to your nation and take part in programs helps too. :)

OOC:be realistic. Israel has the world's third-largest nuclear arsenal and about 6M population; in other words, the mind boggles not.

Manufacturing rights are a one-time $100,000,000.00 bill. As for each individual missile-warhead combination you parchase it is $15,000,000.00 as said before.

I also never actually said I would purchase this Horrific weapons.. :p
These aren't horrific weapons. They are a detterent for larger nations, so that my humble sovereignty(SP?) is not violated.

Ok, everyone who is anyone can just go on the internet and figure out how a nuclear weapon will work. All nuclear physicist KNOW how they work. The knowledge is out there. It is just a matter of a government that invest the money and manpower.

OOC: My two pence on this matter is that nationstates is a freeform role-playing game and in theory this nation can claim to have a doomsday weapon of which the earth has never seen or imagined. However, the balencing factor in a freeform role-play is that others can choose to ignore anything they wish; usually anything they deem unrealistic or stupid.

In this case it's likely, in my opinion, that this nation could have run a nuclear program and eventually produced a complex missile system like this, even with it's size taken into acount (which is only part of the picture to be honest, there are a number of other factors that come into play). However, it wouldn't have many and it would have spent alot of funds on something many nations concider to be obsolete, I mean few nations ever actually use or threaten to use nuclear weapons, even in NS. That said, there are a few idiots and maniacs around... but they aren't part of the "international community" as such, they are the ones which get shunned for being foolish.

So meh, leave him alone, if he wants to RP this then he can, but you get the choice of RPing with him or not. Ignore him or not; it's up to you.

IC:

Iuthia would like to announce that it officially recognises The Federation of Fate and Honor's nuclear deterant and will continue to observe this devoloping nation as it enters the international community. With this weapon comes great responcability; should you threaten it's use during diplomacy without due reason you will loose credibility with the Iuthian people and should you actually use one of these weapons without exhausting all diplomacy we could very well label your nation as a danger to the international community as a whole.

We expect you government will take precautions with it's arsenal and will respect other nations soveignity during their enterance into the international community. We wish you luck and good times.

Thanks,

Foriegn Minister Mick Lakely, Iuthian Diplomatic Corps.

OOC:that only nullifies conditions which do not apply INS, viz. a handfull of nuclear powers threatenign to pound the hell out of anyone who tries to join the club and a global market, which isn't realistically RPed INS and so allows everyone and his dog to have first-world technical capacities.

The Empire of Fate and Honor is happy that much respected Iuthian people recognize our humble nation. The Emporer personally wishes for you to know that every security measure is being taken to ensure the stockpiles of our weapons. He also wishes for you to know that the spread of these weapons to roque states is not going to happen. We open our borders to Iuthian diplomats who wish to investigate and report on our methods of storing and securing our new weapons.

OOC: Israel doesn't have 20mt MIRVed warheads. Neither does Britain or France. Plus Israel was effectively given their nuclear deterrant by the US. I would say fair enough if he bought it, but he didnt. This is better than 1st World Tech. Made by a nation with a $2bn military budget? I doubt it.

OOC: Israel doesn't have...

OOC: Seriously guys, who cares. If you haven't noticed this isn't the real world this is a cooperative role-playing game which allows you to RP anything you want.

So I would seriously suggest you either:

a) Ignore him and kindly not post in this thread again.

b) Accept his claim and role-play a in-character responce.

c) Telegram him to try and convince him to be more realistic so you don't have to ignore him; posting OOC on this thread will only change the subject and ruin any RP.

OOC: how can you have better than first world tech? by definition, such does not exist within a realistic world. A 20mt MIRVed warhead is indeed powerful, but not that hard to build-it takes some time and money to get a nuclear program started, but once it's running it's not that expensive, and, as F&H himself pointed out, it relies on high school physics (actually in the US you probably only learn that in college, but anyway, it comes down tot ehs ame: it's widely known nowadays).

We would like to inform you that we are not interested in running such a program as for the time being we have no reason to beleive that your nation is conducting any dangerous activities with these WMD.

However, should you wish you exchange embassies and give our people a tour of the facilties some time so that we may completely back up claims of decent practices we will happily do so.

We would also like to take this time to note that Iuthia doesn't feel the need to keep a nuclear deterant these days due to our various protection systems and more importantly, political stability. We are mildly curious as to why your nation feels that it needs WMD so early on in it's years.

Never-the-less, we still feel that there is no cause for concern at this moment of time and do not feel that an inspection is required.

Thanks for your co-operation,

The Emperor is readily willing to exchange embassies to ensure that his nation is not seen as a Roque in the world, but rather a productive and co-operative member in the international community.

As to your inquiry as why we feel a nuclear deterrent is necessary, this world is dangerous, and with such a small military that we have we found it necessary to produce a weapon that can make up for that.

The Emperor personally sends his gratitude to your government, as to not pre-maturely judging the meanings behind our actions with mere assumptions. He hopes for a bright future between our two nations.

We are pleased to hear that your nation is taking an active interest in the international community as well as the safety surrounding nuclear materials.

Given the circumstances and your interest in diplomatic relations with Iuthia we feel that it's only right to skip the normal probition period and allow your nation the normal rights as detailed in the following attachment: [Attachment: 0001 (http://forums2.jolt.co.uk/showpost.php?p=6016004&postcount=3)]

Your nation has shown responcability and we hope that in the future relations will be good between our two nations; don't hesitate to contact us in the future should you have any concerns.

Thanks,

OOC: I don't really want to RP any of the specifics of setting up an embassy in your nation; I would rather we just assume it goes smoothly and your nation now has an embassy in Iuthia's capitol and we have a embassy somewhere in your nation. For more details here is the thread I keep record of my embassies:

[Link (http://forums2.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=313410)]

Of course, if you actually want to RP anything specific regarding the embassy exchange I won't stop you and if it's interesting I may join in. If you want to start an RP please OOC contact me first because I'm in and out of alot of more time consuming RP's recently so if you wanted to say, spy on Iuthia (some nations are doing this right now) I would like to leave it for a while. I doubt you would want to but these embassies represent a nice link between our nations which means we can get invloved in one anothers affairs more actively.

:p good luck anyways, it can be tough for new nations.
