Brief History of Kodovia
Kodovia is located in Southeast Europe (same size, location as real life Moldova). It has long since been oppressed by fascist and capitalist regimes until the Great War of Liberation, commonly called World War II. The Kodovian people, having been captured by Rumania, was forced to live under the rule of the fascist government until it was liberated by the Great Soviet People in August, 1944. Rumanian forces with the support of their German allies, fought hard in the lands of the Kodovian people, being attacked by the Kodovian Communist Party's People's Liberation Army and also by the Soviet Red Army.
After a month of fighting, the Rumanians and Germans were defeated and the Soviets streamed into the nation, the people giving flowers to the brave Soviet soldiers who liberated them. For the next forty seven years, until 1991, the Soviet Republic of Kodovia prospered, with unemployment being nil. When the USSR disintegrated, the Kodovian government continued to function on, but was being isolated by the Capitalist neo-fascist nations that now surrounded it.
NATO began to equip and train rebels who seized territory and terrorized the people. In 1995, these rebels entered the capital city. The People's Liberation Army retreated into the southern part of the country and for the next two years, fighting occured between the rebels and the People's Army, until the People's Army was forced to disband to reorganize and regroup.
Under the rule of the fascist Capitalist government, Kodovia experienced massive unemployment, high inflation, a failing health and education system and the hostility of the people. In 2003, the Communist Party of Kodovia remobilized the People's Army and by April, 2004, had seized over ninety percent of the country, including the capital city. By July, 2004, the fascists had been routed and destroyed.
The day of the recapture of the capital city, Alexandergrad, is now a nation holiday, celebrated as the independence day of the People's Republic of Kodovia. The living standards have now surpassed what they were before the capital was captured by the fascists, and the People's Republic now has a state of the art medical and educational system.
Praise to the saviour, General Secretary Molotov Brezneh!
