On vidscreens and holoprojectors across known space, the VNN symbol fades into a newsroom, where VNN newsanchor Heidi Moore addresses the people of Veredia and its neighbours to announce the latest, breaking news from Veredia. "This Heidi Moore of the Veredian News Network. After years of splintering rule by corporations and noble houses held together by fleet admiral Jeremiah Tyrell, the Veredian government has been reformed into a single unified whole, the independent armies and fleets of the corporations and houses have been absorbed into the Veredian military, and all organizations brought under government control through both force of arms and diplomacy."
"In addition to uniting the splintered factions, new military and economic programs are being put into place. Imperial Regent Jeremiah Tyrell has announced that the VSN will be constructing dozens of new anchorages, border posts, and expanding FTLi and minefield coverage across Veredia to better secure borders. Additional weapons emplacements will also be added to all hyperspace gates and colonies. Furthermore, funding will be provided for the addition of two new naval regiments, the commissioning of new classes of ships, and the expansion of the Veredian Internal Security Navy, by adding more than a hundred new pinnaces and cutters to its arsenal.
