This past week, Albanyan citizen Rico Marcs was imprisoned by Malkyeri Capitol Police for supposedly "attempting to gain access to restricted areas," whereas in actuality he had simply gotten lost while looking for the bathroom The government of Albanya will not stand for it's citizens being arrested for no greater crime than drinking a little too much soda at lunch!

After numerous attempts by the government to secure Marcs' return to Albanya, or at the very least, have him freed from prison in the Malkyeri capital of Seven Lakes have failed, our Sumpreme Governing Council has decided that to preserve justice and our nation's honor, war is the only path left open to us. As of 7:45AM, GMT, the Principality of Albanya shall consider a state of war in effect with the Kingdom of Malkyer. The 1st and 2nd Infantry Divisions and 5th Armored Cavalry Division, numbering some 50,000 men and 6,000 tanks and other vehicles, is set to cross the border at 8:15AM, GMT.

In the words of Council member Greeves Solee, "We shall continue this fight until justice is had, or until either Malkyer or Albanya exist no more. And I can assure you, we will not falter."


Burten Village, Malkyer:
Colonel Davis Gunther could see Brenner, in Albanya, from the hill on which he stood. The border was a little more than three miles away, and the Albanyan soldiers that had crossed it about ten minutes ago were all too close. At least there aren't any tanks, he thought. The enemy command was smart enough not to waste its tanks on fighting a regiment of Border Guards through forested hills and valleys. Too bad I haven't got any artillery, or I could wipe those sons of bitches off the map right now. That wasn't entirely true. He did have one battery, or six guns, quick-firing three-inchers. They wouldn't help very much here, though, so he'd positioned them to defend the village, about a half a mile to the north. Once the ultimatium had been recieved, the King had sent 30,000 regulars and 26,000 reservists to the provinces bordering Albanya, leaving just enough elsewhere to defend the Kingdom's other borders. Watching the advancing enemy, Gunther wondered if it would be enough.

The Confederacy condemns this action on the part of Albanya, and is prepared stand alongside and help defend the Kingdom.

The king of Edrinople will not allow larger nations such as Medinat to dictate the policies and actions to smaller ones. King Taer wishes the people of Albanya to know that he considers them his friends, and that if any Medinat moves any troops to aid Malkyer, he will not hesitate in mobilizing Edrinian Army units to move against both Malkyer and the Confederacy.

The people of Shenar have voted against full-scale mobilization, however, we are sending 3,000 soldiers to help distribute food and medicine, as well as other humanitarian efforts. We have no intention of fighting against the Kingdom of Edrinople, yet our troops will fight back if attacked, and we will have no qualms about joining Malkyer in their war efforts.

It appears we have a trade-off on on our hands. If my nation enters the war, Malkyer will have a comparatively powerful ally, and other nations may take notice and join our cause; on the other hand, doing so will incite Edrinople to send troops not only into Malkyer, but into Medinat as well. So I propose this: as long as Edrinople does not aid the Albanyans in any way, Medinat shall not send troops to fight alongside the Malkyeri.

I offer my deepest regret, and sincerest apologies to the peolpe of Malkyer,

I condemn both of your actions, war and holding a "hostage" or "prisoner" unjustly. But of course this is not for me to decide, but holding a citizen without proof or considerable reason is not quite a way to deal with a scenario like this. I say give him back the prisoner, and if you have any "relative" proof, have the opposing government pay a fine.

Five miles north of Burten village:

Davis Gunther hated retreating. But he'd been forced to do it, twice so far in a war that was scarcely three days old. The battle for Burten had been a good fight, though. About 8,000 Malkyeri (elements of the 5th Infantry and 2nd Border Guards) had held the town for almost seven hours against 14,000 Albanyan soldiers, with some fanatic street- and house-to-house fighting. When the fight was finally through, though, it was unquestionably a loss. 3,500 killed or missing, over a thousand wounded, not to mention having to leaving a lot of equipment behind, had left the Malkyeri in a poor position to defend the railheads at Rifkin, about a half-mile to the east. If things kept going on the way they did, and if they didn't get any outside help, the war in the southern part of the knigdom would be as good as lost.

Later that day:

"What have ya got for me, Sergeant?"

"The usual, you know, food, medicine, ammo, gear, etcetera," the Quartermaster grinned knowingly.

"What's so funny?"

"Come up here, I'll show ya," the sergeant helped Gunther climb up into the traincar, and then showed him dozens of ton-crates.

"So?" Gunther inquired.

"Look at it and tell me what you see," his grin a full-blown smile now.

"Dispatch says rice and beef from Shandar. Wait, the postmark..." It was a six-pointed blue star, about the size of his fist. "Medinat! I don't get it..."

"Look inside," the sergeant said as he pried off the lid with a crowbar. Inside, there were dozens of shiny new G36 automatic rifles.

"I'll be damned...That's why they shipped 'em through Shandar, because they can't go directly without violating the peace agreement with Edrinople! So, are all of these..." He gestured to the crates.

"Guns, sir. Lots of guns."

Rico Marcs was arrested for entirely just reasons. He was in the Capitol Building, far from areas where tourists are permitted, trying to break into the office of the Minister of the Interior, Stasi Niue. Capitol Police found him, and immediately detained him. Upon further questioning, he revealed that he was trying to leave forged documents in one of the files, documents that would give him legal authority to be present in any restricted areas within the Capital City. Upon searching his coat, said documents were indeed found. He refused to disclose anymore information, so his greater intentions are still unknown at this time.

And I remind you that Malkyer is fighting this war solely in self-defense.

The Republic of Balddur supports Albanya, and wishes them luck and god speed. A state wouldn't declare war just because a common citizen was arrested in a foregin nation. Balddur believes thier is a greater reason for Albanya's council to go to war. Maybe they feel threaten by Malkyer. We also believe in Albanya when they say the man was simiply arrested for wondering around, and clearly should not be sitting in a jail cell.

The Republic of Balddur would like to help Albanya in any way that they can. We can lead you supplies as well as are 2,000 of our elite Anti-aircraft artillery known as The Archer

as of 8:23 eastern standard time, the 2nd cavalry division of 3,650 comanche helicopters left the country of Yatsumica in a covert attempt to thin the numbers of the invading armies attacking Malyer. All 3,650 helicopters set out to disrupt communication towers, destroy tank roads, and to lessen the attacking number of infantry to make it a fair fight with even numbers. a dispatch has been sent to both members of the war stating.

This war seems to have 2 sides to it, one nation going to war against another because one person was detained for acts of looking for the bathroom. The other Side says that that person had gone into restricted access areas where the accused tryed to plant forged documents so the accused could move into more restricted access areas. The Governing Council would like to express its utmost gratitude toward the Republic of Balddur for the gift of 2,000 Archers. They should be most useful if this foul weather clears up and the "first-rate" airforce of the Malkyeri is able to take to the skies.

"The roads leading to Rifkin were completly destroyed by that helicopter raid last night, sir," Major Roger Ferrrol reported to Brigadier General Gustavus Antinius, the man in charge of the invasion of Malkyer.

"Damn them, meddling in our affairs. The losses we took certainly leveled the playing field and blunted our assault. Those bastards wanted to make a fair fight and by God they made one. Damn!"

"Another report came in. Illior is offering their services as mediators. Maybe we should accept. Enough international support has formed to force Malkyer to release Marcs, even so."

"Never! Not while we have these Malkyeri bastards on the run! All we have to do is press the assault, and we'll regain the edge soon enough."

I can see why Malkyer locked up someone who was threatening national security, whether or not it was intentional. If I was a tourist, I would try to avoid the room that said "DO NOT ENTER: Restricted Area!" In fact, I most sincerely believe that Albanya is in the wrong - the evidence lines up too well for it to be mere coincidence.

In short, ISAF joins the war on the side of Malkyer. That being the case, troop deployment is as follows:

Seeing as the contingent of troops from the ISAF outnumbers any force that could be fielded by Edrinople, the Parliament of Medinat has voted for a declaration of war against Albanya. The following units have been deployed to the frontline provinces:

500,000 Infantry of the 5th, 6th, 7th, and 12th Divisions
40,000 M1A3 MB Tanks of the 2nd, 8th, and 9th Armored Divisions

The Democratic States of Shandar have decided to join our ally Medinat in this war. Although our constitution does not allow for full mobilization except in cases of self-defense, we will send the 4th, 18th, 21st, and 22nd Army Groups, numbering some 1,000,000 combat personnel, 500,000 support and logistics personnel, and 75,000 MB tanks and support vehicles. As our troops will arrive for a couple of days, we will consider ourselves neutral toward Albanya unitl such time as Shandari troops cross the Malkyeri border. Until then, we would be willing to act as mediators between the belligrent parties.

Vestern States is condeming this act of war and will response with force.
We are sending 1st, 5th and 9th Armycorps along with 4th, 3rd, 7th and 10th Armoured Corps.
2nd, 3rd, 6th and 9th Airforce is on standby.

We are also preparing our EMP sattelites to engage. Subs with cruisemissiles is going to sea.

Also, Tactical Bomber Command has been put to higest alert.

As it seems that international support has tilted to overwhelmingly favor Malkyer, I have decided not to enter this war on the side of Albanya. Rather, as one of the only nations currently involved that considers Albanya an ally, we urge them to put down their weapons, declare a cease-fire, and accept the peace negotiations offered by Illior and Shandar.

In the face of overwhelming international pressure and the considerable military force aligned against us, the Supreme Governing Council has decided to sue for peace. As of 5:00PM GMT, all fighting along the Albanyan-Malkyeri and Albanyan-Medinat borders will cease. At 5:30, the Governing Council will meet with delegates from every nation involved. The diplomats are to be as follows:

4 each from Malkyer and Medinat
2 each from Shandar, Illior, and Edrinople
1 each from Yutsimica, Balddur, Shenar
Vestern States is welcome to attend, although Albanya considers them (and Malkyer agrees) a neutral party.

The Holy Empire of Yatsumica has regretfully withdrawn all forces from this "war". The peace talks came through very well but we would like to set up a DMZ zone between the two nations and give half of the land taken by malkyer back to Albanya. The DMZ will be comprised of a 10 mile wide area across the length of the border and will be regularly patroled by Yatsumican corps. and a contingent of tanks, WITH ORDERS TO SEND MILITARY ASSISTANCE TO ANY WHOM BECOME VIOLATED UPON.

This proposal is acceptable, and as a gesture of good will, Malkyer is willing to return all occupied land, on the condition that all provinces bordering Malkyer are kept demilitarized.
