The United States of Shalrirorchia denounced the general policies of the government of Holy Panooly today, branding the nation "a harbor of terrorism" and renewing Panooly's posting to the Shalrirorchian list of "Rogue Nations" for 2004. Presence on the List restricts trade between the listed nation and all Shalrirorchian businesses.
"Holy Panooly has, since the War, charted an increasingly fascist and anti-humanitarian path." President Tarumigan Gistarai said at a campaign rally today. "The U.S.S. is not afraid to call it as it sees it. We see that Panooly is a repressive regime, and we emphatically denounce it."
Recent polls show President Gistarai leading his Conservative Party opponent by 5%, with many voters questioning whether he has the fortitude to take a tough stand against terrorism and fascism in the world. The Conservative Party candidate, Jacob Kenkarra, said that Gistarai's commentary was "Too little, too late."
Current Polls-
Tarumigan Gistarai, Liberal (Progressive) Party- 47%
Jacob Kenkarra, Conservative Party - 42%
