Muru requests aid

Muru

The Dominion of Muru is requesting international aid against faceless aggression and religious fanaticisim. In responce to a recent move to suppress religion (http://forums2.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=355708), Muru has comitted no human rights abuses, and not killed a single person. But the "holy" Imperial Empire of Belem has informed us that if we do not allow catholicism, they will go to war to reinstate their beliefs.

Now, many of you will not aggree with out decision about religion, but surely you can aggree that suppressing one line of thought is the lesser of two evils when compared with forcing your beliefs upon others violently.

Muru requests international support (be it diplomatic or millitary), to repel this threat and protect our sovernty.

Stianlaand condems The Holy Imperial Empire of Belem for their treaths. We have also banned religion, so now you'll have to go to war with us too. (Not that it matters very much, my country only has a population of 8 million)

Armed Republic of Surginia - Official Wire Message

To: The International Community
From: V.M. Ensor, Surginian International Policy and Affairs Advisor

Officials in Surginia's defense, human rights, and intelligence departments are gathering information and discussing options to aid Muru. At the request of Chief Commander K.P. Greene, we are leaning more towards direct humanitarian and medical aid for the citizens of Muru - as opposed to direct support for Muru's government in the form of military action against the invading Holy Imperial Empire of Belem.

Surginia will not be involved in a war over religion, but views the recent deployment of naval warships, etc. by Belem as overly aggressive and unwarranted. Attempts have been made to settle the issue of religious differences between the nations diplomatically. In fact, the diplomatic efforts were still in progress at the time Belem sent hostile units towards Muru's shores.

Surginia officially condemns this deployment by the government of Belem, and hopes other nations will do the same in an effort to convince Belem to be less aggressive in response to social, "self-contained" issues - especially those responses directed towards smaller, non-violent nations.

We urge Belem to reconsider it's actions and withdraw forces from Muru's waters immediately. It is our hope, although the outlook is becoming increasingly bleak, that this issue can still be resolved diplomatically - without a single shot, and without the sacrifice of a single human life: soldier or civilian, Muruan or Belemian.

V.M. Ensor
Advisor to the Chief Commander on International Policy and Affairs,
Armed Republic of Surginia

Offical comment from the Aztec Naitonal League:

The ANL has a communist and atheist government. However, we do allow for religions to exist, without fear of being persecuted.

While we can not agree with Muru's stance on religion, the nation's soverignity must be respected. They nation of Muru may practice anything it wishes to within it's own borders, as long as:

-basic human rights are not infringed on
-genocide and mass killings are not commited
-the nation of Muru is not enforcing it's beliefs and systems on other nations

Again, while the ANL can not support their actions, the soverignity of Muru needs to be recongized. It is unlikely we will get involved, however. We strongly implore the nation of Belem to cease it agressive military activities.

With the arrival of nukes on our land, the "Holy" empire of Belem has ABANDONED ALL PRETENSE of helping these people. They have distroyed those they claim to protect, and made it blatently clear that this is nothing but AGGRESSIVE WARFARE at it's worst. Muru asks for any nation to help, the only way to ensure that you arn't next is to unite and show nations like this one that brutal expansion will not be tolerated by the internation community!
