Idea for EarthAuction

Yes, I know... Really fits into Earth(n+1) scenario, this actually could be a new idea:
The Earth's nations Auction.
One by one, all nations of our world will be sold to the highest bidder.

The idea is that people get credits for inhabitant size (say one credit for one million people). Every nation only gets his credits once. This involves some administration but not really much, and it will be fairer than just picking countries, leading to giant claims or crazy ones.
Ofcourse a nation with a vast population will be able to buy more nations or buy popular ones, but that is only fair, isn't it?

A minimum 'price' for the nation that is currently for sale, will be calculated by the size of the nation. Then the bidding can begin. Every week (or so) a nation will be sold to the highest bid, and the amount will be substracted from his credits.

Just think about it for a while.

PS:
If I forgot something, please ask.
There will be no rules regarding involvement in other Earth threads, and already claimed nations there.
Suggestions are welcome and so are people who would be willing to help.
Don't place any nationclaims or creditclaims here, this is only an idea-exchange.

I just want to know if this is an executable idea first.

A good idea, but is it really workable? I mean how would you work out how many credits each nation has????

Secondly, I wish to put a reserve on japan!

Perhaps the credits could be for population. 1 credit per million people.

A good idea! however, there is this thread somewhere that works out the wealth of your nation (I can't remeber what it is though). I'd also like to reserve Zimbabwe!

Please dont place reserves, just ideas, suggestions and opinions.
Moleland: I think the site you mean is http://www.pipian.com/stuffforchat/gdpcalc.php?nation=<insert nation's name here>

Credits could be decided by populationsize, which would mean the older nationstates' nations have more credits, or by wealth...?
Or could there be another way? Tell me!

The selling order will probably be alphabetical, and the minimum pricing will be calculated by the country's size or GDP. (Geographical figures are on the internet ofcourse.) Better ideas, please post!
When I think there are enough positive reactions, The minimum price per square kilometer will be set. That is too much in detail for now, IMO.

Please submit your opinion about the auctionidea!!

After reading this, I came to the conclusion that indeed, my efforts will not be satisfying for me personally.

I was just seeing all of these new Earths, just a second ago I saw 'Earth IV' and I was wondering if anyone would be up for maybe 'The Ultimate Earth' (...)

They do this because most people can't give up the idea that NationStates is not set in Earth. It's set in an Earth-Like Planet that somehow is able to manifest entire nations due to it's unbalanced Polar Icecaps (which accounts for nations disappearing in a day, and reappearing in a day). The people in it are Pikmin like creatures which reproduce at an amazing rate, and rarely ever die of mortal means *thus there is no depopulation*.

These people who keep land-grabbing on Earth's that actually are not there are just uncreative because they aren't willing to go through the trouble of actually sculpting out what they want their nation to look like (it doesn't have to look good either. Stop being self-conscious about your MSPaint.exe skills). I mostly ignore it because I believe it's so silly, as does most of the NS Population.
(...)
If we can make so many earths, why not make a million Moons with them, and a million Marses and Venuses and Jupiters and Saturns as well and no one will ever have any complaints about space-bases. How's that for genius?

Thus I shall withdraw this plan.

Sad, very sad. A good idea, in a perfect world, but, well, very hard to bring to life...
