[dateline] Coral Palm City, Roycelandian Colony of Coral Palm Island
Tense scenes in Coral Palm Island today as a large, angry mob of Hippies, Tree-Huggers, and other Subversive Types presented the Governor-General with a List of Demands, effectively demanding Roycelandia de-colonise the Island and grant it Independence.
Article One of the List of Demands reads:
"The People of Coral Palm Island intend to get their Independence, with Blackjack, and Hookers! In fact, Forget the Independence!"
When the Governor-General pointed this out to the Angry Mob, they accused her of "Missing the Point".
The Governor-General pointed out that Gambling and Prostitution were already legalised in Coral Palm Island, and had been ever since Roycelandia colonised the Island , to which the the Angry Mob said she was "being pedantic".
They then proceeded to stage rather nasty Riot, in which most of the Coral Palm City Central Business District was destroyed or damaged, before the Imperial Guard put the riot down with Rubber Bullets and Teargas Air Explosive rockets.
500 rioters were severely beaten for resisting arrest, arrested, and then held pending trial.
The penalty for Rioting Without A Permit is 10 years in prison, doubled if the rioter is a Hippy, Greenie, Feminist, Nazi, or Religious Fanatic.
"That oughta show the blighters!" said Commander of the Garrison, Col. Frederick Shoe. "This sort of disrespect will not be tolerated. Roycelandia is a democratic Empire, and anyone who disagrees with that will be crushed ruthlessly!"
