ooc> Ok, starting info. (I will start actually RPing once it gets going)

2 Heavy tank divisions swept past the North-eastern border patroll and are traveling about 60 Km/hour along the main road in that region. There is a supply convoy about 60 miles behind it. The tank divisions have enough feul and supplies with them to keep going for about 36 hours.

OCC:Can we use air support too?

A group of high ranking generals sat surrounding a small sphere shaped table. On the table was a map showing the northern region, red markings showed the advancing enemy armoured divisions.

"What do we currently have in the region to counter the armoured divisions?"
said an old aged general. He wore a blue uniform, with 5 Stars on his shoulder, and is in charge of the situation.

"We have 2 Infantry Divisions in the vacinity. One is currently stationed at the Capital, and another is in the Northwestern farmlands. Keeping raiders, and thieves off our produce."

The Commanding General nodded. It was obvious they didn't have the strength to fight head on with the armoured divisions. He would have to use the mobility advantage the Infantry Divisions have. He turned to the younger General

"Order the 4th Infantry Division to detach a battalion from it's main unit, to send to the Northern Forests. They are stay within the forest until the supply convoy arrives. This convoy is the vital lifeline to the two divisions. If it's destroyed the armoured divisions will eventually run out of fuel, and ammuntion. I personally would suggest utilizing the Humvees and helicopters. Ditch the Humvees once they reach the western part of the forest, then continuing on foot for the rest of the voyage. Make sure the humvees are well hidden, we don't want to be spotted by a patrol."

The Commanding General reaches for a large satellite photo behind him. He lays it on top of the map.

"This satellite images show that the advancing units are making excellent time for heavy armour units. We'll need to delay their advance so we can bring up additional units from the South. Order the 1st Infantry Division to send it's engineers to the Eastern Roads. They must be as far away from the capital as possible, but close enough so that the enemy doesn't see them. I want the roads destroyed, and have road blocks put in their place. Dig ditches, pull trees down, use mines, anything. We'll also need reinforcements. Bring up anything you can. I need all these orders completed ASAP... Oh and make sure the Regulars fortify the capital. Now move."

OOC:This is just to get started. Also here's some stats and all.
Infantry Divisions:Soldiers 9,400 Combat, 8,710 Logistical Support
Mechanized Infantry:Soldiers 9,340 Combat Soldiers, 11,260 Logistical Support
Armoured:Soldiers 7,430 combat soldiers, 13,460 Logistics Support

Battalion:800 Soldiers armed with G-36 rifles, LAW, Stingers, 60mm Light Mortars, M240 MG, M40A1 Sniper Rifle, M67 Grenades, Predator Anti-Tank, Javelin Anti-Tank. This is the equipment the soldiers in the battalion have. Their mostly a light unit so mobility shouldn't be a problem. Battalion should reach the forest in 5-6 NS hours

Currently calling up, 1 Infantry Division, 1 Mechanized Infantry. Should arrive in 4 NS days.

BTW, there is a major supply depo in the smaller urban area.

ic> The large armoured colum rumbled down the road at a reasonable pace. Their were two command vehicles and 3 mobile helopads. The 6 light attack choppers were flying out and ahead of the armoured divisions, scouting the forrest. Nothing had been spotted yet.

Further behind, the expansive supply convoy was traveling in three sub-groups, each with with 4 machine gun hum-v's and a light battle tank. Each consisted of about 100 supply trucks. What cargo they held was well hidden.

Thus, the colum rumbled forward, the target: Ninja's capital.

ooc> Sorry for not developing characters, but its not that important for me seeing as how the nation I am RPing doesn't really exist and I havn't had time to do much. As for air support, helocopters are fine.

The 700 man battalion had finally reached the outskirts of the northern most part of the forest. The soldiers moved quickly, splitting into four companies of 175. Each soldier had enough rations and water to last two days combat. They moved swifty through the forest, keeping a wary eye out for scouts. The sun was setting and It'd be dark soon... A perfect chance to ambush the convoy.

OOC:Say 2 more hours for them to reach the outskirts of the forest. Also the Mech Inf Division should arrive in about 4 RL Hours.

IC:
The Engineers worked endlessly. Superiors had ordered Regulars to assist the engineers in blowing up roads, and establishing roadblocks. The other soldiers fortified the capital, evacuating civilians, and setting up booby traps, including the construction of IED's. (Improvized Explosive Device) The city had to be ready for any siege

The 4th Infantry Division had orders to move. Command had ordered them to re-deploy outside the capital effective immediately. Soldiers boarded their vehicales, and helicopters and quickly moved off. Anything that couldn't be carried immediately was destroyed.

OOC:1 battalion will arive at the capital per hour

Supplies from the south came airdropped by C-5's, and C-17 transport aircraft. Supplies were plentiful, every man had sufficient food, and ammunition to last two weeks of battle.

ic> The supply convoys surged forward even as the sun was setting. Instead of stopping, each group increased their pace. The forrest was still quiet, too quiet. Attack choppers with large searchlights continued patrolling the airspace above the forrest.

Ahead of the armoured colum, two light helecopters were surveying the road. By the time the sun began setting, they were passing the smaller urban area.

Meanwhile, a disturbance was recorded on the north-central border. 200 well armed military grade ATV's entered the country. Their current rate of speed was 90 Km/hour and they were heading strait for Ninja's agricultural region, taking the long way to avoid the forrest.

The first company had reached the edges of the forest, they put on their Night vision, and Infrare Red goggles. Through the goggles they picked up the vehicales, the captain of the company orderd his men to load their anti-tank weapons and prepare to fire. As the wind, and speed was being calculated, a meduim sized helicopter flew by. The Captain quickly ordered his men to take cover in bushes, and trees, their camoflauge blended in with the surrounding area. Over the radio the Captain ordered the Stinger Operators to be ready, along with the Anti-Tank Operators. They were ready for a hard days combat.

The 6th Mechanized Infantry Division had just arrived from the Central Region. They were given no rest from their journey, and were immediately deployed 200 km from the Capital. Their journey would take quite a few more days, but one their they can expect atleast one day rest before combat.

Command had ordered routine air patrols with AH-64 Apache Longbows, and AH-1W Super Cobras around the capital, and several km away from the capital. The satellite was still a few hours more away before it'd arrive over the battlefield, until then they didn't where the enemy was moving.

The Engineers had nearly finished destroying the roads, and setting up trees blockades. Now, Command had ordered them to dig steep trenches around the capital. To complete this task 2,000 Regular Soldiers were detached from brigade, and were attached to the Engineer Regiment. The entire trench system would be hopefully completed in 1 week, using every avaliable equipment, including civilian, and military tractors. The trenches were planned to be 10ft deep, and roughly 5'8ft across. These would hopefully stall the advance. Included in the defense preparations were establishing key artillery sites inside the city, and around it. All IFVs, MBTs, LBTs, SPGs were stationed outside the city, keeping a fair amount of distance between each other.

OOC:I'll respond to the ATV's in my next post. And about the my supply raiders, all of them had similiar expierneces with the helos and vehicales. Sorry for not going into deep character detail, I don't have that much time to do an extensive RP.

ic> The helocopter hovered over the trees, searchlight scanning the forrest.
Pilote:"Did you see that?!"
Gunner: "See what?"
Pilote: "I saw something moving around down there."
The gunner adjusted the searchlight and swept over the area indicated by the pilote. He didn't see anything.
Gunner: "It was probobly nothing."
Pilote: "Yeah. . .nothing."

Meanwhile, the three supply groups kept going, the first group had almost caught up to the armoured colum. Advanced recon choppers had spotted the blown out road. This was not good. It would stall out the attack too long, they could not afford to lose the supplies. After much descussion and debate between the commanders, a decision was made. The entire colum changed course and headed strait for the smaller urban/industrial region and prepared to assult it.

A crouched Captain looked up at the sky. The helicopters had left. He signalled his Stinger Operators to keep ready. Those choppers would be back once they get into action. The LAW, and Milan Operators came up into position, still staying within the trees. Once the "Go" signal was said over the radios the anti-armour operators squeezed the trigger. Several Marksman took aim with their M82 Barret .50 Sniper Rifles, aiming for the cargo area of the trucks hoping to cause an explosion. Soldiers fired their G-36 Rifles at the trucks as well. After 6 to 7 minutes of engaging they ceased firing, and ran back to the forests. Stinger Operators continue to logging around their anti-air systems, scouring the skies for helicopters.

OOC:Roughly 30 Heavy Weapons Operators;18 Anti-Tank, 12 Stingers. 2nd and 3rd Company had similiar experiences. Btw they engaged the 2nd, and 3rd Convoy. First one was too close to the main task force to engage.

IC:
The new Satellite image showed a disturbing picture. The battle tanks were now turning around, towards the supply depot. There was nothing between them and the tank divisions. They would have to try to stop that, or stall it at the very least before a proper defense can be established. In the Central Province an Airborne Division sits at their airbase, currently they were trying to get their heavy equipment ready, but they won't need that now. The order came through that the 5th Para Divison was to be airdropped down in the Industrial Center in the Northern Region.

A brigade would be dropped on at a time until all personel would be positioned in the Industrial Center. To accomplish this a scramble order came for C-5 Galaxy's. The mobilization for a brigade airdrop would take 12 hours. Then another brigade would be airdropped every 8 hours. They would only carry standard light equipment against heavy armour units.

Also preparing for combat with the heavy armour divisions was a task force of AH-64 Apache Longbows, and AH-1W Super Cobras. Sixteen Apaches, and Fourteen Super Cobras from the 4th Infantry Division. They would attack the left flank of the convoy, engaging them with every sort of missile they could carry. Included with the Apaches were Stinger Launchers, incase any other enemy helicopters got any sort of ideas.

Command had also gotten images of a new threat. Another helicopter force was being mobilized. This time 10 AH-1W, 12 AH-64 Apaches, and 6 UH-60L Blackhawks fully loaded with 6th Mech Infantry would engage them. The 2nd Infantry Division also sent 124 Strykers, seperated into two battalions. It would take 3 hours to mobilize the Stryker Force, but only 1.5 hours for the helicopter force. The Sun would be up soon, and that's when they'll move out.

ic> The attacks on the two convoy groups were not unexpected, but the convoys were still caught slightly by supprise. Though the two attacks were almost identical, the reactions were very different. The middle convoy group was hit and several vehicles exploded, including 2 feul trucks. One of the Hummers also exploded. The remaining half of the convoy broke formation and ran away from the road. The remaining 3 hummers returned fire with the aid of infa-red targeting. The light tank pivoted its turret and fired an explosive shell at the attackers position. Most of the road was covered in burning reckage, this would slow down the third convoy greatly.

The third convoy was hit at about the same time. This time, however, none of the hit trucks exploded significantly. That was because few of the cargo trucks were actually holding ammo. About 12 trucks were destroyed, 4 damaged. Soldiers crawled out of the burning vehicles, and more dismounted from the other trucks. They were troop carriers disguised as cargo trucks. Most of the soldiers looked like they were just out of basic training. Most of the soldiers were in a state of confusion after the attack. Luckily, there were 3 squads of more experianced troops who quickly rallied and took cover while returning fire and hurling grenades. Uppon seeing the attack also occuring on the other group, the tank and 4 hummers were ordered to catch up to the 2nd convoy and aid them. The second group posessed many of the vital war supplies. Uppon seeing the attacks, the patrolling helocopters quickly arrived at the scene and began scanning the forrest for more attackers.

Meanwhile, the tank divisions continued driving towards the smaller city. The 1st convoy group finnally cought up, however, only 20 of the 120 vehicles actually carried feul and ammo. The rest revealed what they held; siege equipment. Howitzer cannons, morters, and a veriety of other heavy weapondry. There were also hidden SAM batteries and Flakk cannons and about 1,000 elite infantry. With a siege camp effectivly set up, the tanks drove towards the city, followed by the now empty cargo trucks. Once the supply depo near the outside of the city was captured and raided, the tanks would leave, but the seige teams would remain to finish the city itself. Thus the tanks launched their assult under the cover fire of the artillery.

The ATV strike force continued to make great distance during the night. Some were armed with stinger missiles, some with machine guns, and some with flamethrowers. The force reached the outskirts of the farmland just before dawn. They would quickly scout out the defences and launch their attacks at first light, right when their enemy would be least prepared, or so they hoped.

ooc> I have always wanted to try my hand at blitzkrieg tactics. lol.

The defenders responded surprisingly fast. Bullets ripped through the dense jungle, and explosions rocked the soldiers ear drums. They moved as fast as possible through the jungle, providing cover fire every now and then. The soldiers were still prepared for some sort of counter-attack, looking to their rear, and scanning the skies. In all 23 soldiers died, with 12 more wounded, most of the wounded were picked up by fellow soldiers, several were forced to be left behind. The ones left behind held their rifle in one hand, a grenade lay in the other hand with the pin pulled, just liked their were taught in basic. If they were shot the grenade would explode, killing our wounding anyone within 15 meters. The survivors had strict orders to wait for a convoy of Humvees, escorted by 4 AH-64 Longbows, to take them back to base.

The helicopter attack group was forced to seperate into two groups to improve recon efficiency. The helicopters were well equipped with the primary weapon being the Hellfire 3 Missile which has a range of 10 to 12 km. One helicopter force flew towards where the disturbance was first recorded. The other flew towards the farmland, were the 2nd Infantry use to be located.

OOC:If possible can you give me some positions of SAM batteries, artillery, and some stuff like that. Just a general idea.

ooc> Ok, I think I see where the choppers are.

ic> The infantry forces that were hidden in the 3rd convoy were finnally re-organized by several executions by political commisars. Then, several more executions allowed the several thousand conscripts to be hearded into the forrest to chase after their attackers. Guided by a few veterans with infra-red goggles, the conscripts were directed in the right general direction like an unorganized heard of cattle. 3 Veteran squads quickly hopped back into their vehicles and headed for the location of the 2nd convoy.

Two-thirds of the 2nd convoy was destroyed from massive explosions from burning feul and ammo. The remaining vehicles sped down the road, hoping to escape their attackers.

Meanwhile, all the helocopters patrolling the area gathered together after radars detected a team of Ninja helocopters near the forrest.

The seige camp continued a sustained bombardment on the city as the tank divisions made their lightening assult on the depo. There were 200 155 mm howitzer peices, 50 SAM batteries, and 50 Flak cannons. They were spaced so the AA-guns could cover the artillery. The infantry was divided into 100 ten man squads and each squad was charged with protecting an individual artillery cluster.

The ATV force quickly organized at the outskirts of the agricultural region as the sun peaked over the horrizon. There were 40 teams of 5. Each had 2 machine guns, 2 flamethrowers, and 1 stinger missile launcher. The teams launched their attack, buring everything in their path.

The battalion was by the edge of the forest now. They had established several mobile command centers to direct the helicopters, and any support. Four mortar support teams were established each with four 60mm mortars. The CO (commanding officer) had ordered small 3 to 4 man team patrols, which had strict orders to not engage, and report any contact made. The Convoy was en-route (sp?) to the battalion, expected time to arrive was roughly 2-3 hours. Also mobilizing was a company of light armoured tanks to maintain control of the edges of the forest. Their estimated time of arrival was 9 hours.

The lead pilot had spotted the tracks of what seemed to be a large wheeled vehicale formation. Judging by the spaces between each wheel he determined that they were up against a ATV strike team. He quickly contacted the other lead pilot, his 2nd in command.

"We have evidence of large ATV strike force. Recommend you send your team over here ASAP for support."

The Captain confirmed his order, and spread the word around. His column turned direction and headed for the lead column's position. The lead column still continued moving on, shortly after giving the order the lead pilot reported smoke clouds in the distance. He turned on his Infrare Red sights, and long range ground radar. Staying in formation, they located their first targets. Their were many targets lighted up, but only several in range. So he flipped his Hellfire Missile switch, got a "ping" from the target, and fired the missile. Several other helicopters did the same, once the missiles were set loose they began manuevering for more targets.

OOC:Right now say there's a 2 airborne companies. In my next post I'll post the airborne attack. Let me know if I forgot something or I sound unclear in somthing. And yes a map does help quite a lot.
