This is a relatively simple shield ship, and no, It's not Farad. It's a Xanthal type X Shield, rebroadcast into a Wall Barrier (It can also be broadcast into a normal protective globe).
Type X shields can encompass anything; ship, station, or even planet if the generator is made big enough. They are extremely powerful and can take a number of hits from even the most powerful weapons before failing. Against conventional weapons they can hold for up to half an hour.
This 300m frigate is basically half power core, half shield generator, and then there's like a tiny area for a small crew of 30 to get around and tinker with stuff. And due to this ship's complete and utter lack of shields (other than some medium armor), the ship is equipped with adequate escape pods :)

This is a rather simple 275m frigate. It sends everything inside it's (adjustable) grid out of phase, and thus renders them cloaked. It has moderate shields and armor, and accomodations for a skilled engineering crew to make sure nothing screws up (if you've seen the star trek episodes with phase cloaks, you'll know exactly why you don't want any screw ups :))
