OOC- This is from the 'War on Sino' thread. Apart from that, this isn't exactly my greatest rp (not by a long shot... just look at all of the numbers...) as I was short on time and in a hurry to get this done.

The Initial Strike
===========

Forward Operating Position V-III
South of the McNammeny River, northern Buechoria...

Sergeant Sergei Yetkavlin sat in the command tent along with two lieutenants, a captain, and a handful of senior enlisted men, they were all sitting in drab green folding chairs in a haphazard circle formation. Yetkavlin looked up and cleared his throat, "Are you fucking serious? We're going to attack them first?!"

The captain, a thirty-something man by the name of Kronos Etendiovskiy, solemnly nodded, "Yeah... Command figures it'd be better off we fired first. Its pretty much a given that Belem intends to go to war... And damn soon. Intel reports Belem soldiers as digging in with engineer companies laying mines. We currently don't understand why the hell they'd be setting up mines as they're expected to be the offensive force here. But, who knows..."

Sergei sighed, "Well, when is this all going to happen?"

The captain glanced to Sergei..."Tonight..."

===============================
Forward Operating Base I-I
1645 Local Time

Rumors had circulated to most ARSB soldiers that we may fire the first shots. Most were hoping, they'd had enough partying and they had been ordered to sober up for the last two days. Alcohol was removed from the base and, in some cases, used as fuel. But in any case, the nation's forces in Buechoria were ready and now the plan was set in motion...

Through-out the day, artillery battalions all along the ARSB-held 'line' were prepping their cannons for use and in most cases, extended range munitions were loaded with their GPS-guided computers aimed at Belem mobile CIWS emplacements. Their locations were found from high-altitude aircraft overpass and satellites, and target data was fed to the munitions. In all, some 600 artillery pieces (all 155mm), spread across the Buechorian landscape, had their muzzles trained on Belem CIWS positions. When the order was given, they would all fire a single extended range MA-54E dual charge warhead. They would target all Belem mobile CIWS.

Artillery units closer to the front, mostly 155mm artillery with the occasional 120mm or 105mm artillery, had their cannons trained on the Belem front lines. A total of about 500 artillery units were located here, each under cover of trees, netting, or hidden in bunkers. The smaller artillery were hooked up to an MMPWV M-04 for immediate movement to a new location, as Belem had a propensity to fire on areas where artillery had been fired from. These cannons would all fire two barrages of standard high explosive shells to rain down upon the primary Belem lines.

And finally, filtered through-out the Buechorian landscape, along either side of the Belem base, were nearly two hundred 105mm, 90mm, and 75mm light howitzers, all being towed by M-08s. The ARSB had an advantage this time that Belem did not... We could move anywhere in Buechoria that we pleased, and we did just that, silently and stealthily sending out vehicles with light artillery to completely surround the Belem base. These 200 artillery pieces would fire indiscriminately into the Belem base, primarily firing upon known supply areas, fuel depots, motor pools, and CIWS systems.

Compressed air artillery systems began firing canisters of small mines into the wilderness just a mile in front of the Belem base. Each canister held a dozen mines and each mine was two pounds of explosives inside a fragmenting iron shell. Also inside were tracking devices. The mines would be activated by proximity. The artillery would make little audible noise and it was too far away for Belem soldiers to care. For all they know, its more propaganda pamphelets.

Aircraft began taking off... In small numbers as to not warn Belem of anything about to happen.

At 1830, all hell broke loose with a thunderous roar of epic proportions. Every artillery piece fired within a span of only one or two minutes, peppering Belem positions, CIWS sites, artillery positions, and logistical areas. CIWS could not have hoped to have survived.

Second Strike

Support Base XIV-III
1834 Local Time

Lieutenant Ruslan Darovich breathed deeply at the launching station for his PAC-56M CIWS-killer. He waited for the bird chirping of a noise to emerge from the radio set mounted inside. Four seconds later and it did, he swiftly turned the key, hit the alarm button, and finally hit the fire key. He could feel the station shutter as he glanced out the small plexiglass window as he watched the massive cruise missile lift into slowly darkening skies of Buechoria. Its blue flame propelled it high into the sky before it slightly dived and leveled out... He grinned. This same scene repeated nineteen more times as twenty of the CIWS killers, which were scramjet assisted destroy on impact weapons using kinetic energy to destroy their targets. CIWS fire would not alter their course or destroy them as their warheads were three hundred pounds of lead, tungsten, and a ferrous core protecting a scramjet motor. GPS would guide it to the rough locale of the target where optical, thermal, and millimetric radar would guide it in for the kill. Any CIWS that wasn't destroyed by the artillery would be destroyed by these...

Also fired were thirty three PAC-56S cruise missiles which contained grenades and would pepper the CIWS area to destroy anything else as well.

==================================
Third Strike

RNS Torrent, southern tip of Buechoria
1835 Local Time

Commander Xander Kevanovich listened to the radio transmissions, eagerly awaiting his go-code to fire his complement of cruise missiles. As the chief weapons officer for the ship, he oversaw the 1300 assorted cruise missiles aboard this behemoth. He was also tasked with coordinating this stage of the operation with a Kasatanov--class SSGN. His pulse sped up as he waited... and waited... and waited... Then it came... "BATTERIES ONE THROUGH FOUR, FIRE!" With a turn of his wrist he flicked the command key, allowing four subordinates underneath him to each fire their battery of 130 cruise missiles (each ship has 10 batteries). He could feel the ship vibrate as this was, by far, the largest amount of cruise missiles fired in a single launch by any ARSB vessel. He couldn't imagine the sheer destruction his babies were just about to inflict on an impersonal enemy some six hundred miles away. He glanced to a screen which showed the outside view and another one hundred cruise missiles lifting into the sky from the ocean, from a submerged SSGN. These cruise missiles were targeted towards Belem SAM sites, Belem CIWS, Belem logistical stations, Belem power generators, and Belem logistical loading docks.

Land-based launching systems fired fifty more cruise missiles towards the Belem lines, these were grenade carrier units and rained gallon jug-sized grenades down upon the Belem lines.

=================================
Fourth Strike

RNS Lightning SSGN, eastern shore of Buechoria
1835 Local Time

One hundred and twenty canisters opened in a single human heartbeat, each sending a cruise missile into the dark waters off of Buechoria with the aid of compressed air. As soon as they were free their rockets ignited, propelling them into the sky as they arced towards the Belem base. These missiles were fired at Belem CIWS, Belem power generators, Belem fuel depots, and known command points. A few were also aimed at Belem SAM sites.

Off of the North Buechorian coast, near Belem ships...
1836 Local Time

The twelve 'Flounder' torpedoes had been sitting there for days, resting solemnly on the ocean floor. But, at this instant in time, that all changed... These torpedoes were big-ass things, most resembling a cruise missile but they were aquatic by nature and meant for a stealthy attack. Now it was their time. A low-frequency sonar transmission from a coastal patrol diesel/electric submarine activated their seeker systems. Their infrared systems quickly picked out Belem ships from the chilled waters of the Ocean. Another low frequency sonar transmission told the torpedoes what their targets were, the Belem carriers in the area. Immediately afterward, the torpedoes went active, their active sonar fired a single blast, the information was then set into the computers and their motors activated with a stored canister of oxygen providing the catalyst. The protective dense plastic bell around their rocket exhaust port was quickly melted away, sending the torpedo into the water. Its massive fins maneuvered it towards its target before its speed got too fast to where it couldn't maneuver. Compressed air began forming around the torpedos and they soon achieved supercavitation, roaring towards the Belem carriers they were targeted against. These had three miles to go until they hit target but three miles wasn't far when they were travelling some 300 miles per hour or faster. Upon impact with any ship, the torpedo would just tear through it, its explosives detonating and effectively wiping out the ship. They were all targeted against carriers with at least three going to each. The diesel sub quickly spun around silently motored into a small inlet.

====================================
Aerial Operations

1839 Local Time

A single C-380 modified for theater electronic warfare was in the air disguised as a cargo transport. Her massive systems quickly and effectively shut down radar to Belem. (The C-380 is massive with the ability to carry different 'pods'. Cargo-wise this can haul 490 tons of cargo or 1200 passengers. There's plenty of room for expansive multi-frequency jamming). Four DP-21As and three F-57C Molniyas hung close to her to provide cover.

Twenty DP-21G EW aircraft pushed towards the Belem base under the cover of the C-380, their directional GPS/GLONASS jammers denying the use of GPS units in the Belem area. Directional jamming went into effect, cutting out any radar for SAMs or early warning. As they moved inland towards the Belem base they began using their directional anti-radar systems to confuse any ground-based radar that they could see. These twenty aircraft would open fire on Belem CIWS emplacements, if any were left, with medium range anti-radiation missiles.

Immediately behind the DP-21Gs were nearly thirty F-71A fighter-bombers which would move in and fire on SAM sites, AA sites, and aircraft launching sites.

Twenty F-225A stealth precision bombers would move in at a low altitude to deliver their payload on SAM sites based around the Belem airfield as well as Belem's new air superiority fighters he moved in. Each F-225A would drop one 2000lb laser guided munition, 2 1000lb laser guided bombs, and 4 500lb satellite-guided bombs. Each F-225A also maintained two air to ground missiles which would probably get used as well.

And finally, to achieve air superiority, some fifty F-57C Molniya air superiority fighters and F-87A Zvezda fighters would move in to engage enemy aircraft and keep others from getting airborne (as the F-87As had air to ground munitions).

====================================
Ground Operations

1842 Local Time

ARSB soldiers, armored units, and support units have been mobilized and have filtered through-out the Buechorian landscape, preparing to hold back the hordes of Belem soldiers if any survived, of course.

They would wait before engaging Belem forces.

Artillery stood by, awaiting a Belem counter-attack.

A single HVC-03 with two crewmen aboard and a massive directional wave stereo system flew about a mile and a half away from the Belem base blasting a single sentence into the ears of the Belem soldiers... "We told you once, you sons of bitches, we're the best there's ever been!"

They would serve a purpose to watch for Belem hidden anti-aircraft. If he tried to shoot them down, he'd only betray himself allowing ARSB aircraft to strike with precision weaponry.

ooc: about the torpedos I was under the impression they were only about 15 miles off the shore and my fleet is about 200-300. also how are they going over 300 knots are they super calivating?

ooc2: the cruise missiles how are they guided by radar or laser? also whats speed and range.

IC: As the SB forces moved into positions during the night Belem sats, spy overflies and general recon begin picking up the troop movements of the artillery around the base. Troops in the base begin to prepare for a possible attack against base positions and supplies are once again dispersed to troop positions around the base to prepare for any attacks.

OOC: remember most of my heavy equipment are under large field tents to conceal there actual location.

The fleet begins switching to combat ops mode where each ship usings its own radar frequency. 25% aircraft coverage still continues around the fleet and over the basecamp.

----------------

As soon as the first missile launchs are detected by longrange radar systems the base goes on full alert, 30 of CIWS systems are taken out in the first attack. Most of the supplies were already dispersed down to the regiment and platoon level the relays for offloading and loading supplies directly sustained moderate to heavy damage and will force ships and aircraft to offload in smaller loads until the facilities are repaired. about 2 dozen artillery pieces that were emplaced are knocked out of action from the opening barages.

The first counter attack comes approx. 45 seconds later with the preprogrammed SRBM launch. The 60 ballistic missiles are fired off towards assorted targets in Buechoria. Each missile has 1 warhead weighing approx. 1 ton(silicon composite explosive 4x more powerful then TNT so each missile would be able to take out 2-3 city blocks.)
Targets for ballistic missiles: 20 directed against Vikra. 5 against the governmental district. 5 targeted against the financial district. 10 are directed against the most heavily concentrated residential districts in the city.
10 each are directed against the 3 main joint buechorian/SB bases.
the other ten(5 and 5) are directed against the ARSB naval bases in Buechoria.

OOC: since the cruise missiles will take 20-30 minutes to reach the base ill post there damages with total last.

Within 5 minutes of the attacks...

300 Artillery guns open fire on the known ARSB positions and points the SB artillery fired from. They are using a mix of Air burst rounds and HE explosives.

The 100 guns in the chemical brigade(the most heavily fortified in the trench system) let loose 4 barrages against the forward ARSB base(since im not sure of the range if neccesary they are rocket assisted rounds.) The rounds each contain approx. 5 gallons of highly corrosive acidic gas. The firing solutions set before the battle are designed to blanket the base in a mist of acid.
OOC: the acid is at a PH of 1-2. Its strong enough to eat through the combat suits of the soldiers, but wont be able to eat through armored vechiles(in gaseous form the acid is not concentrated enough,) it will however cause havoc to exposed wires and electronics.

All the divisions are immediately placed on red alert with approx. 40 thousand Infantry troops manning the trenches surrounding the bases and 500 tanks per side thats exposed to possible enemy action. The rest of the troops and support troops in the base begin remanuerving the rest of the tanks and vechiles to make them harder targets for enemy munitions and to allow them better support base defense if needed. The Starlight laser carriers roll into specially prepared bunkers on the trench where only the turret for the laser will be exposed.

20 battleships from the fleet set sail for positions approx. 30 miles off the coast to support the base with shore bombardment.

-------------
Air forces

planes in the air at the beginning
Around base/fleets: 120 F-40s 120 F-42s, 30 Vipers. 4 AWACS.
Around enemy fleet positions: 20 B-2 stealth bombers per fleet.

B-2s(both fleets 250-300 miles out.)
As soon as the first reports of firing on the base the B-2s turned towards the ARSB fleets and each group launched there full compliment of Javelins AS missiles at the the fleets(200 missiles total per fleet.) The missiles were set on high attack mode because of the range to the fleets. So the missiles will hit the fleets at aprox. a 45 degree angle going mach 4. As soon as the missiles are launched the planes will turn six and head back to Belem.

Over the base-
The fleet begins the launching of an additional 240 fighters to bring the air numbers to a 50% operational capacity.

Two of the AWACs begin jamming of all known ARSB frequencies and will switch the jamming to new channels based on the captured data on radar modulation. The third AWAC is using its passive radar to gather information on the enemy radar frequencies to relay to the jammers. The 4th AWAC will be using its radar to actively seek out enemy positions to relay to enemy fighters.

80 F-40s and 80 F-42s join the 30 Vipers over the base to engage incoming enemy aircraft. The fighters link into the Belem defensive grid(linked aircraft computers so every plane can get a view of the battlefield even if there radar frequency is being jammed,) the fighters each switch off to a unique random Radar frequency to disrupt enemy jamming as much as possible. They will engage incoming enemy aircraft with intermediate range IR tracking missiles. Each fighter has 4.

The rest of the fighters remain on CAP over the fleet until the rest of the squadrons are launched.

----------------
Sea

The 8 wolfpacks that were shadowing the 1st fleet by about 100 miles begin manuerving into position with there caterpillar drives to get within 20 miles of fleet. They are coming up to the fleet from a southern approach with a sub per mile for 80 miles. At the 20 mile mark the subs will each launch there forward facing 4 torpedos, then turn away from the fleet fire there two rear facing torpedos then attempt to get as much sea between the fleets and the subs.

OOC- Lol, see, Belem, that's what numbers do to a person...

Anyways, no, I stated my SSGN and SSNs were cruising just off the continental shelf (which can be anywhere from 2 to 400 miles off the coast) near your naval forces. The continental shelf would've REALLY aided in their stealth abilities. And since they generate little to no noise you wouldn't hear them on passive sonar and with active their signature is dulled due to extensive absorbing systems and seem to be part of the shelf. Yes, they're supercavitating, I stated that as well, by using compressed air to form a bubble around the torpedo. Anyways, they're an experimental torpedo and nothing like real-life testing, eh? They may be a little inaccurate (they are, after all, experimental) but most of them should hit their carrier targets, since carriers are very large targets underwater.

================

The ballistic missiles (You're lucky I'm not as jumpy as you are when it comes to ballistic missiles) fired at the two naval facilities were harassed the minute they came over ARSB-controlled airspace. The five targeted for the base at the southern end of Buechoria were all destroyed before they got there by either fighters attempting to shoot them down (the F-57C has an auto-targetting cannon which is very good at targetting larger missiles), DP-21s confusing their avionics, or C-380 theater electronic warfare aircraft confusing them.

The five fired towards the minor base were mostly successful, although one was shot down and another hit short of its target (by damage to its guidance system), killing thirty ARSB soldiers and a handful of vehicles along with three 105mm artillery pieces. The three remaining ballistic missiles rained down upon the minor base, one doing little damage as it impacted a vacant loading dock (think huge open area), only destroying a series of docks and an empty storage building. The second missile struck a supplies loading facility, quickly decimating the 200-acre building and the millions of dollars worth of supplies housed inside and killing fifty or so logistical personnel as well as two dozen heavy trucks. The third missile struck a motor pool and conjoined barracks, killing two hundred ARSB infantry and some fifty assorted vehicles.

====================

The Belem counter-attack hit the ARSB's artillery hard but not to the point of devastation. By now, the ARSB military had evolved to Belem's style of play. Most of the light artillery had already been moved aside from twelve 105mm cannons which were destroyed. The biggest damage occured to the 155mm howitzers, of which some 230 were destroyed or damaged along with twenty-two ammunition storage vehicles, forty MMPWV M-04 utility vehicles, and an estimated 300 ARSB personnel.

The chemical attack wasn't as effective as they probably would've hoped due to the sparcity of ARSB soldiers in the area where it was fired. The forward operating base was filled with mechanized infantry, mostly in SIV-21s, SV-90s, or other suitable APCs and IFVs. The acid attacks did, however, kill thirty two wounded ARSB soldiers (awaiting treatment in a field hospital), eighteen ARSB medics and surgeons, as well as damaging eighteen MMPWV M-04s to the point they needed heavy repair. A dozen ST-11 NGBTs required repair work after the acid destroyed their fire control computers (the maintenance hatches were left open). Reports did say, however, that numerous ARSB soldiers were seen wandering through the area, their visors and uniforms being eaten away along with their skin. Some two hundred soldiers were wounded with acid burns ranging from minor to life threateningly. It is estimated that another 100 soldiers would die before the day was over.

=====================

As for the attack on the two expeditionary fleets, the Jericho ATFDS was quite proficient in picking off weapons. With the new laser designator firing system as well as the newly installed massive amount of defense, it was capable of destroying nearly 130 of the 200 (fired on one fleet) and about 120 out of 200 on the other... The first expeditionary fleet sustained minor damage due to the fact the missiles were in high-attack mode, mainly striking the decks, towers, and turrets of ships. The first expeditionary fleet did, however, lose four ships to sinking (three frigates and a destroyer), two to fire (both destroyers), and one damaged beyond repair (heavy nuclear cruiser). Some twenty-two ships maintained light to moderate damage including the fleet's carrier which lost eight aircraft and eight two men.

The second expeditionary fleet strike managed to sink eight ships (four destroyers, two frigates, two cruisers), lose seven to fire (one cruiser, two destroyers, two frigates, two patrol vessels), and four damaged beyond repair (three frigates, one carrier). Another eighteen vessels suffered moderate damage with seven suffering light damage. The carrier was lost.

===========================
As for aerial operations...

The ARSB air forces in the area were and have always been using the ARSB Global Defense Network satellite, aerial, maritime, and land-based information gathering and distributing system. Each and every ARSB aircraft had access to dozens of radar frequencies from every plane across the battlefield which was combined with infrared data, satellite infrared data, satellite radar data, and observed data to provide the aircraft with an amount of knowledge unsurpassed in this modern world.

The ferocity of the Belem defenders shocked the ARSB pilots, but not for long... After losing eight F-57Cs and two F-87s to initial combat, they quickly regained their composure, launching an all-out retaliation. As combat continued, seven more F-57Cs fell to enemy fire along with eight F-87 Zvezdas. Some 35 F-57Cs remained along with 20 F-87s. Each F-57C was armed with four short range infrared/terminal radar guided missiles and six intermediate range radar guided with infrared terminal missiles. Each F-87 was armed with two short ranged infrared guided missiles and four intermediate.

Belem's jamming efforts didn't faze the ARSB attacking force as the C-380s with their theater radar and electronic warfare took-over, providing counter-jamming and providing the ARSB aircraft with open radar frequencies.

Also, each ARSB C-380 TEW aircraft could each jam dozens of frequencies as well as cycle through them repeatedly.

==============================================
Attack...

Some sixty F-57C air superiority fighters were launched from the southern base along with twenty carrier-based F-87 Zvezdas. They would move in to support ARSB air forces over the Belem base.

-----------

Lietenant Colonel Rosterov pulled his head back from a lap-top computer, "Sir... Satellites indicate that Belem is preparing for a defensive war. Comparative satellite stills show that they're units are dug in... At least the ones that we can see. That tells me that they've probably got everything mined."

Marshal Ivan Caboriskiy nodded, "So that means... We stay where we are?"

The lieutenant colonel nodded, "Yep. Its a trap most likely. If they want to fight us, then let them, they can come to us. And we'll be more than ready to push back any offensive they can muster."

Marshal Caboriskiy turned to face the colonel, "Call those assholes at naval command and tell them to cut these guys off from logistical support. If we can do that, we won."

The lieutenant colonel nodded, "Yes sir." He turned to the computer and quickly sent an encrypted transmission to naval command for the Buechorian theater of operations.

--------------

In order to cut off Belem logistical operations, it was necessary to wipe out the Belem fleet stationed off of Buechoria. This would hopefully be accomplished by one hundred and forty PAC-70K hypersonic anti-shipping cruise missiles fired from a single SSGN. The same one that deposited the torpedoes. It was a mere fifty miles from the nearest Belem ship but sat silent at a depth of 900 feet. It would rise to 200 feet depth to fire its 140 cruise missiles. Eighty would assume the role of a top-attack cruise missile, coming straight down upon Belem ships at extremely high speeds, high enough that if they were hit by CIWS, it'd have little effect on their speed or profile. In any case, their kinetic velocity would allow themselves to puncture through the top deck where its explosives would ignite, either gutting the ship or putting it out of service. The other sixty would fly low to the water and strike the perimeter ships.

After firing the missiles, the SSGN would dive to 1000 feet and get the hell away as fast as her twin nuclear reactors could move her.

-----------------

Now that the Belem artillery had practically labeled itself as 'Important Targets', the mobile light artillery opened fire from the sides. This time, only about one hundred and twenty cannons survived, each fired high-explosive, air bursting, or grenade-dispensing rounds into the Belem artillery. The first barrage was all HE to scatter and confuse the crews, air bursting was then used to kill the crews, and finally grenade dispensing was used to destroy the actual artillery.

Eighty 155mm howitzers (that hadn't fired before) opened fire on the Belem conventional artillery, firing three barrages of grenade dispensing and HE rounds. They were joined by four Smerch missile batteries, each firing forty HE and grenade dispensing artillery rockets into the Belem artillery positions. Of the 160 missiles fired, twenty were aimed towards the chemical artillery cannons.

And finally, forty 155mm howitzers opened fire, indiscrimanetly into the Belem base, firing a total of four barrages all within one minute. The first barraged was HE, the second barrage was grenade dispensing, the third barrage was HE, and the final barrage was firing canisters of twelve mines each.

The F-71As that had moved in to do fighter bomber missions, four were shot down by surface to air weapons (as F-57C and F-87s prevented aerial units from firing upon them). 26 F-71As remained. Each one was fitted with four anti-tank missiles, two 500lb bombs, and 1 1000lb bomb. Eight of the F-71s, instead of the 1 1000lb bomb had two 500lb napalm canisters which were dropped on open trenches. F-71As opened fire on enemy armor with their anti-tank missiles and dropped their bombs on structures, generators, trenches, and other targets of oppurtunity.

OOC: I was also typing it up at 3 in the morning between rainbow six 3 rounds and then the server lost my first post.

Casualities for the cruise missiles and the later artillery barrages: approx. 2000 soldiers(because of the heavy concentration of soldiers in the base), and 30-40 pieces of deployed artillery(trenches). Also a few dozen trucks and supply vechiles that were positioned in the open.

flounder attack: 3 of the 12 carriers are hit. The carriers hit by the torpedos sustain breaching on the lower levels and containable flooding the armored hulls(something not present on RL carriers) helped prevent major damage to the ships.

---------------------
Naval Attacks (OOC: in the previous thread you stated one of the expeditionary fleets was only 50-100 miles away from my positions. This is an attack on that fleet.)

15 Vesuvius class Guide missile frigates launch there full compliment of Javelin SL(ship launched) missiles against the SB expeditionary fleet.
Each Frigate has 4 has quad launchers so a total of 240 missiles are fired at the enemy fleet. The missiles are in seaskim mode(mach 2-3 when it hits the ship depending surface conditions) and because of the short range they will detonate with most of there fuel still onboard.

OOC: The SL verision of Javelin is approx. 5 feet longer and has a booster engine to nearly double its range.
-------------------------
Air Ops
12 F-42s are taken out and 6 F-40s.

With nearly a 3 to 1 numbers The Fighters begin to force the SB planes into close range high speed dog fights with cannons. Three Fighters will begin chasing a single SB jet, 1 will break off and will ussualy go high(sometimes low.) The other chasers manuerv the the "mouse" into the path of the 3rd aircraft which will then pounce on SB fighter with either cannons or shortrange missiles(F-40s and F-42s have 2 Vipers have 4.)

30 more F-40 Vampires come in on approach to the base from the fleet speeding towards the air engagement. At about 50 miles away from the battle they each launch 2 Long Range Scorpion missiles at the remaining enemy jets. Other jets are being held in reserve over the fleet, the attacks on the fleets carriers have hampered the speed of launching the fighters.

5 Vampires and 5 Tiger Sharks from the fleet engage afterburners approaching speeds of mach 3 head towards the source of the major radar interference.
---------------
Missile attack

100 of the 140 missiles are taken out by CIWS(mainly the sea skimmers) and jamming of the ARSB radar targetting frequencies(OOC:in original thread we kept a portion of the useable targeting computers to crack there codes.)

5 of the missiles hit a single destroyer causing a chain reaction of the VLS launchers destroying the ship.
5 Transport ships are hit by 1 missile each taking moderate damage to there decks and canceling flight ops of there choppers.
3 Frigates are hit by 2 missiles each and are out of action until repairs can be made.
2 Frigates are hit by 3 missiles each and are crippled and will most likely sink by the end of the night or will need to be scuttled.
5 Detroyers are hit by 1 missile each and sustain light to moderate damage 2 lost there radar grids until repairs can be made.
3 Battleships are hit by 2 missiles each(these would of been the most extreme perimeter ships because they were heading towards the coast to provide shore bombardment.) They sustain light damage due to the thickness of there armor. 1 of ships has had two of its turrets knocked out.
4 Cruisers hit by 1 missile moderate damage taken.

-----------
Counterattack on the sub

Two ASW choppers on patrol reroute to the general area of sub, and begin active pinging for the sub and use M.A.D. gear to detect the SSGN, each chopper launches 1 torpedo at the sub.

the 30 attack subs posted with the fleet break into attack pairs and move to positons around 15-30 miles around the fleet, 1 sub will begin active pinging while the other sub responds to any threats.

-------------
Ground battle

OOC: doesnt the smerch only have 12 launchers?

total casualities from all attacks posted in this section: approx. 600 troops 80 pieces of the placed artillery. 150 pieces of non deployed artillery. Damage to the airfields suspending flight ops till repairs can be made on the base. Empty barracks and mostly empty supply depots were destroyed by the bombings.

---------------
100 Artillery pieces return fire onto the SB light artillery positions around the base.
The chemical group which was relatively undamaged since the guns were placed inside hardened bunkers each fire there last 2 corrosive acid rounds into the forest and brush south of the base indiscrimantely in more of a move to use the acid as a makeshift herbicide to allow for easier combat in the forests.

from the fleet: 300 Tomahawks are fired from the fleet agsinst SB artillery positions in the forest half the missiles are loaded with conventional HE rounds the other half are Inciendiary rounds. An additional 50 tomahawks with HE are launched 10, 20, 30, 40 and 50 miles behind the ARSB lines at important bridges and road/rail junctions necessary for supplying the front line force.

Troops in the trenches open fire on the divebombing fighters launching over 80 stingers at the bombing aircraft.

--------------------

Under the cover of the tomahawk attack undeployed artillery pieces(the one parts of the armored divisions that werent part of the trench defense) are being deployed to the trenches to rebuild the numbers of artillery and are being deployed to the corners and sides of the tents to allow them to assist with bombardment.

The first undeployed armored division(reinforced to maximum strenght by other divisions where needed) begins to rally its troops and moving out of the base heading from all three landed sides of the base heading south. As the group begins forming up they take on the shape of an arrow, with there flanks heavily protected(1,500 tanks total 1,000 APCs, no artillery they are being deployed in base.) They are headed south towards the main concentrations of the enemy forces. Starlight laser carriers are positioned strategically within the force to provide maximum coverage against enemy troops(OOC: from the air and from long range they are basically undistiguable from the regular Cavalier APC.)

The other 2 non defensive divisions in the base begin preparing to move out and are spreading there forces even thinner around the base to make them less inviting targets to mass bombardment.

OOC- Yeah, I didn't think that acid could do much (especially in vapor form). The only way it'd be harmful is to maybe exposed skin. Death would result if inhaled, I'm sure, but all of our troops are outfitted with NBC-capable armor suits with built in respirators.

OOC2- Damn, it takes me at least one hour to make these posts... Ugh.

---------------------------
Once again, the Jericho ATFDS kicks into gear, this time coordinating with a few destroyers in launching timed missiles to detonate near or on top of incoming missiles. Of the 240 launched, some sixty are taken out this way (due to knocking off of course from the explosions [they ARE right above the water, after all]; or damage to avionics or flight control surfaces).

Of the remaining 180, some 80 are wiped out with interceptor missiles and CIWS cannons. The remaining one hundred do little damage, as a whole, to the fleet, due to its relatively tight configuration. The one hundred missiles all impact only eighteen ships (the ones that are broadside to where the missiles were launched from). All eighteen are either sunk or too damaged they'll either be used as shields or scuttled, depending on what lays ahead. Four frigates, two destroyers, a cruiser, and a patrol craft sank immediately with the cruiser dragging two patrol vessels with it. Five frigates, two destroyers, and three fleet defense ships (catamarans purchased from UV) were destroyed beyond repair with only the fleet defense catamarans maintaining any use (their CIWS still is able to operate). About ten other ships maintained light to moderate damage with one destroyer in critical condition.

-------------------

Due to the maneuvers employed by the Belem pilots, eighteen F-57Cs are shot down along with eighteen F-87s. Six F-57Cs have evacuated due to extreme damage.

Due to the amount of fighter aircraft in the vicinity, the long-range radar guided missiles should have little effect, most likely getting confused with Belem aircraft. Six F-87s are shot down, however. (think of the amount of targets, it'd be waayyyyyyyy too easy for them to get confused and either fizzle out, detonate prematurely, follow too many aircraft for short amounts of time therefore burning fuel and detonating before any target, or they'd hit Belem aircraft as well.) No F-57Cs were lost however, due to the use of their directional (sometimes referred to as 'active stealth') radar countermeasure system.

-----------------------

The single Red Tide-class SSGN, an older submarine with a new refit, was easily outclassed and outgunned. She sank without a whimper. A dozen crew managed to survive and deployed a bright orange survival raft.

Not wanting to get taken prisoner, two officers on board conceal their pistols and await a time to use them. One enlisted man carries an RSR-39S (which was in a plastic case aboard the inflateable raft) concealed under his heavy submariner's coat.

-----------------------

OOC- Our Smerch's aren't the RL ones. Our's don't fire quite as big as rockets but we use a bigger chassis and in some instances, we have a few Smerch batteries mounted on a trailer behind a large truck.

The artillery and cruise missile strikes on ARSB artillery are effective, effectively wiping out the light artillery presence on either side. However, not all artillery is destroyed as about 40 pieces survive, due to the large area they were deployed in and the fact they had begun moving...

The cruise missiles strikes on pivotal logistical points are able to destroy a number of key bridges, highways,and intersections... Although logistical supply is not too seriously hampered due to the fact there were few very large rivers and/or non-negotiable terrain. Front line units will most likely experience a two day delay in receiving supplies although their current stockpiles have them covered for the next week.

----------------------------

As for the infantry-launched Stingers, in most cases, the aircraft were simply moving too fast for the rather slow Stingers. Although, eight aircraft were downed, with one of their explosions attracting a number of Stingers into it.

========================
Counter-attack/attacks/whatever...

The F-57C Molniyas have begun using flares, EMP disturbance pods, and packets of chaff to clear off tailing enemy fighters. Their forward facing 30mm cannons are housed in a 110 degree traversing turret in the front, capable of engaging targets, on its own, using its own millimetric radar. Therefore, the aircraft doesn't have to point and trail enemy fighters, it could just as well go straight and allow the enemy fighters to just simply cross infront of the aircraft. (The turret is housed in a small aero dynamic 'dome' that provides little air resistance [nothing that the engines can't overpower] and can track and fire at anything in a wide angle IN FRONT of the aircraft... This should do lots of damage to your aircraft, especially considering the congestion of air forces in the area.)

The F-87s and F-57Cs begin pulling out for refueling and re-armament, being steadily replaced by the 50 F-57Cs and 30 F-87s newly sent.

Twelve F-57Cs are tasked with protecting the massive C-380, they quickly move to intercept the approaching aircraft and at a set range they each deploy two medium range radar guided (with infrared joining in on the terminal stage [within 5 miles of target]) before moving in, their guns automatically training upon the enemy fighters and opening fire in short bursts and sustained fire. Close range missiles are fired including infrared guided/terminal millimetric radar.

Two of the near-expended F-87s have moved in to provide protection for the C-380. Each F-87 has two short range missiles and one intermediate-range missile left.

--------------------

"Dammit!" shouted the Marshal in charge of the 15th Infantry Division, "I told them to get air superiority and fucking fast! Our plans rely on aerial dominance... Get their carriers and airfields out of commission so they either can't re-arm their aircraft nor refuel them!"

"We're trying, they're airfields are temporarily out of commision, meaning if they plan to refuel and re-arm, they have to move all the way back to their fleets..." returned a rear admiral in the Navy. "Cruise missiles can only do so much when they're not used correctly. And they weren't last time. Although we did shut down their anti-aircraft systems as the only things fired against our aircraft were MANPADs. And, we believe, that within an hour they're aircraft will be dropping like flies as they run out of fuel or try to run away with no ammunition left."

The Marshal sighed... "Just knock the things out... Its not that hard..."

"Fine," replied the Rear Admiral, "We'll do it your way. We have a slightly damaged arsenal ship that still has 1000 of her VLS tubes filled. We'll use all of them and take out their airfields and carriers."

The Marshal nodded, "Good..."

======================

In response, the RNS Havoc, a Torrent-class arsenal ship, prepped her 1150 assorted cruise missiles for firing upon Belem positions. She had maintained damage when a nearby destroyer burst into flames and sank, her communications tower tearing a gash in her forward deck. She would be serviced and probably returned to duty, however, how much use was a nearly full arsenal ship when it was getting repaired? The 1150 cruise missiles were broken down accordingly: 540 were PAC-56A high explosive land attack; 110 were PAC-56D cluster bomb warhead, 300 were PAC-56S anti-shipping cruise missiles, 50 PAC-56Z heavy warheads, and 150 PAC-80D kinetic kill/reserve warhead cruise missiles. All of the anti shipping cruise missiles were fired on the primary Belem fleet, everyone of them aimed at the carriers using high angle of attack mode. The 150 PAC-80D kinetic kill/reserve warhead cruise missiles were also fired against all Belem carriers. They would come straight down upon an enemy ship pierce it with a heavy kinetic rod and then a heavy explosive charge would detonate. The anti-ship cruise missiles were spread evenly between carriers. The rest of the cruise missiles were fired on all Belem ground-based airfields, hangars, and aircraft fuel depots. Immediately afterwards, the arsenal ship submerged itself to a depth of 200 feet and proceeded to rumble to the southern port where it would rendezvous with a small escort group to head back to the ARSB.

-------------------------

As for ground operations, the enemy attack would soon encounter the hundreds of fragmenting mines littered through-out the forest, some even in trees. Due to the sheer amount and concetration of them, if they weren't cleaned up they would wreak havoc on enemy tanks.

A single ARSB infantry division, the 8th Infantry Division with 25000 personnel and about 400 tanks would stand its position. Their extensive tunnel network descended below where the Belem soldiers would cross and some personnel had now adopted the tunnel-style warfare that the Dra-pol had used (think N. Vietnamese tunnel systems). Which means, they would pop up inside, behind, and just outside of Belem positions, wreaking havoc and creating such an unstable environment to operate in that it would be hard for Belem to continue with out trying to locate and destroy the hundreds of tunnel entrances. Tunnels were also booby-trapped in the event Belem soldiers attempted to use them for themselves. As the Belem force passes the initial openings, some one hundred ARSB infantry appear behind and amid them with anti-tank launchers quickly firing at personnel carriers (to reduce their troop strength, it is believed their tanks won't fare too well against the ST-11s). A few well-placed snipers armed with the RPS-80 20mm anti-tank rifle open fire on tanks, firing specifically at the commander's viewport and the driver's position. The 20mm round would easily penetrate these areas and kill either the commander or the driver. There are about 20 of these snipers, well hidden on the ground and in the trees. They should each be able to fire at least 5 rounds before being noticed.

The other ARSB Infantry Division, the 15th, along with the 4th Armored Division, began circling around the penetrating Belem force (resembles the 'omega' greek letter), completely ignoring them but moving up along the Belem base's sides and moving in to the rear (since their forces were well spread out).

About 30 155mm howitzers surviving opened fire on the advancing Belem colomns, firing reconaissance team-aided rounds (which means they'd be VERY accurate). The rounds were all grenade rounds except when used on enemy tanks, then HE would be used or airburst.

The 40 light artillery pieces that had survived began opening fire on the enemy forces scattered around the base. The light artillery fired three complete barrages of grenade rounds (they dissipated about 10-12 grenades across a wide area, very effective against personnel, structures, and vehicles), blanketing the area. This depleted their grenade rounds, two more barrages were fired with heavy HE rounds, they were targeted on the bunkers housing the chemical weapons artillery.

By this time, one of the Smerch (SBV-Mk. IV type) batteries with its 40 reloaded surface to surface artillery rockets, opened fire on the hardened bunkers protecting the chemical weapons artillery. These rockets were designed for penetrating bunkers with a heavy tip and a heavy warhead. The last eight rockets fired were rockets that dissipated grenades over the target, therefore destroying exposed artillery pieces as well as their crew.

OOC: sorry for the late post. First day back to college. Nothing like spending 100 dollars on a single math textbook which will probably stay in the original wrapping and never be opened.

--------
*just skipping down to the air attacks where all the actions happening*

6 F-42s, 4 F-40s, and 3 Vipers are taken out in the primary air engagement over the base.

about 70 of each the F-40s and F-42s withdrawn back to the fleet for rearmaments and refueling. The 30 and 20 that remain of the original group still have all of there short range(2 each) and some long range. They group up with the 30 incoming F-40s and head in to engage with the newly arrived F-87s. The 30 F-40s launch an initial barrage of 60 medium range IRs against the F87s before breaking off into smaller groups and performing the same chase and harry tactics on the new arrivals, with the planes from the earlier engagements giving chase and the F-40s(still with 2 medium each and 2 short rangers.)

-------------------------

the 10 Fighters heading towards the C-380 fire off there full compliment of medium and short range IR missiles 6 each as they approach the target from approx. 5-10 miles. 40 of the of the 60 are targetted directly at the C-380. The 10 fighters reverse course using afterburners and begin heading backtowards the cover of the fleet. 6 of the 10 are knocked by enemy missiles.

--------------------------
OOC: for the Arsenal ship thing im going to break that down into 2 or 3 posts because the fleet is going to try to sink the ship before it can fire off its full compliment of missiles. Considering it should take atleast 20 minutes(based on the idea of an approximate launch every 3 seconds its probably longer.) to launch over 1,000 cruise missiles.

After the launch of the first 40 missiles all resources in the fleet were directed towards the destruction of the arsenal ship the first to respond were 8 Romulus class battleships with there 16' guns(rocket assisted in this instance). The Battleships each fire two volleys from there 4 batteries(3 guns per battery,) in the course of a minute. (192 total) half of the shells fired are 2,700 pounds Armor Piercing rounds and the other half are 1,900 pound High Capacity explosive rounds. OOC: at this range the shells would have an accuracy rating of approx. 60-75% based on u.s. navy tests from the navy hitting an area the size of a football field
In the course of the next two minutes two more volleys are fired by the battleships in the first volley only 75% of the shells are targetted against the arsenal ship and in the second volley only 40%. The rest of the shells are targeted against random ships in the fleet.

Within 3 minutes approx. 14 ships each launch 4 Javelins(56 total) at the arsenal ship. 26 are in high attack mode the others are in sea skimmer mode eta on missiles at this range would be approx. 2-5 minutes.

OOC: Damage is being based on about 100 missile launches before counter attack would hit the barge. damage will be revised on result of the attack on the capship. note: im using a 60/40 ration for targetting of land instalations and targetting of sea instalations based on the amount of missiles aboard the ships and there designations.

45 of the land attack missiles get through defenses and cap patrols and hit airfield positions on the base killing support crews and knocking 40 Vipers that were on the ground as well causing more damage to the airfields.

5(the kinetic energy ones since they don't rely on explosives) of the 40 headed towards the fleet make it past fleet defenses and CIWS. 2 STOL carriers are hit(ships like the wasp.) by two missiles each causing heavy damage to the ships and knocking out about 20 choppers. The final missile hits one of the carriers knocking out one of its elevators and causing damage to the catapult systems.

Concentrated attack against expeditionary fleet: Fleet command realizing that the expeditionary fleet could actually be a threat against the imperial navy. In the course of 15 minutes the assorted destroyers, cruisers and frigates in the fleet launch a total of 160 Javelins against the expeditionary fleet half high attack, half seaskim.

---------------------
Ground battle

OOC: im assuming that the main tunnels are being supported by metal beams(or are deep underground) rather wooden boards since a tank would probably collapse the tunnels by going over the general area.

IC: 20 tanks are immobilized due to enemy sniper AT fire. The tanks open fire on suspected sniper positions mainly with machine guns and the occasional cannon fire.
25 APCs are knocked out by the enemy troops and an additional 15 are damaged. APCs begin using there chainguns and machineguns against the infantry.
Tanks and APCs begin using there thermal scopes to locate the entrances to the tunnels(they will be hotter then the ground because of air exhaust from the tunnel system.) In order to collapse the tunnels without dismebarking troops nearby armored vechiles are directed to drive over the entranceways of the tunnels to collapse there support beams(a 60 ton tank can easilly do that and I assume the same will happen if a 20 ton APC drives over it.)

The grenade burst rounds caused light to moderate damage to about 2 dozen APCs but very few casualities since the troops are basically all bottled up inside.

The light artillery succeeds in knocking out about 60 troops and 2 dozen trucks. In reponse to the attacks counter artillery(the ones being deployed and the ones still in the trenches) open fire with about 70 artillery pieces on the light gun positions.

65 of the Bunkers housing the chemical artillery are destroyed and there crews killed by the bombardment from the artillery and the smerchs. They are taken as operational losses and locations of enemy artillery is marked for destruction by the battleships(ooc: will be in range with rocket assistance within next post.)

The other two armored divisions in the base start moving out one heading east and one heading west, they are moving out of the base slowly using thermal scopes looking for the tunnel openings to demolish.

OOC- Actually, for the arsenal ship, its one stationed off the southern tip of Buechoria which was slightly damaged in one of your B-2 attacks down there. So, I'm going to ignore the battleship ones and I'll wait for you to reconsider your anti-shipping missile strike (since by the time they'll get there, all of the cruise missiles will have been fired and the vessel would've submerged anyways). If you want to continue the attack, then it'll probably cut off the barrage at the half-way mark and submerge to a depth between 100 and 200 feet.

===========================

ARSB Bases in Buechoria are now open for the USSCR (Communist Rule) for use. The USSCR will be allowed unrestricted use of ARSB assets, fuel, munitions, logistical services, maintenance, and structures. The ARSB will protect USSCR units deployed to this theater of combat operations.

They will be protected by the ARSB, maintained by the ARSB, flown by the USSCR, with all damages paid by the ARSB. THis does not mean that the USSCR is declaring war on Belem (or any other parties). Think of this like American pilots fighting with British fighter units in WWII.

===========================

Frankly, the air war for Soviet Bloc wasn't going to well. The only reason: Belem had sufficient numbers in the air to counter the tech on board the F-57Cs. The F-87s weren't nearly as good (they're alot like an F-16). ARSB military planners had hoped the cruise missile strikes would've effectively destroyed their air base in Buechoria (of which it did, but not to the extent it wanted) and therefore created a massive inconvenience to Belem planners and pilots (the extra distance from carrier to the operations theater, etc. and some aircraft were most likely ground-based and couldn't handle carrier landings). For now, the ARSB was outgunned in the air, but that would soon change as they would soon rely on a few allies to assist.

Every remaining F-87A was downed except eight, they were just simply outgunned, outnumbered, and probably outfought. The F-57Cs were able to hold their own even against the towering odds. Only about eight were downed in the course of battle with one F-57C colliding with an F-87.

----------------------------------

As for this attack, the fighters would've intercepted them before they had arrived... However, I will take that into account and decrease the missiles fired to eight long range radar-guided missiles. Two of them are knocked out with an experimental CIWS-type system on the C-380, while another two were knocked out with directional jamming. The C-380 immediately takes hard, evasive maneuvers, deploying chaff and even flares in case terminal IR is used. The C-380 lifts its nose(s) to reveal its armoured pod underneath in a fuselage twisting maneuver. The pod absorbs three of the missiles fired, killing about forty personnel and effectively neutralizing the EW and airborne radar assets at the time being. (There are 10 C-380s in Buechoria. Four tankers, two EW, one EW/R, one Radar, one cruise missile dispenser, and one bomber. There are also all the pods associated so they can change roles). The fourth and final missile impacts the starboard wing, ripping off her farthest out turbojet. The C-380, with its burning mid-section (with some 80 personnel still in it) and only five out of six turbojets limps back home, her one side drooping as she moves at slow speeds. Freon extinguisher systems are running non-stop, trying to kill the fire.

------------------------
Defense against concetrated fleet attack (assuming strike not on the fleet with the arsenal ship but the fleet closest to the Belem fleet [which had launched missiles])

The one hundred and sixty missiles were detected by the ARSB GDN system which relayed information to the Jericho ATFDS, giving it the upper hand. As soon as targets were within range, interceptor missiles were fired, knocking some thirty out (sea-skimming). Directional jamming disabled twenty high-attack and ten sea-skimming. Of the remaining 100, some forty were destroyed by CIWS, AA equipment, and lucky shots. The resulting damage was catastrophic, two fully loaded destroyers perished in balls of flame resembling small nuclear explosions, taking with them an estimated two frigates as well as a dozen smaller ships (patrol craft, special operations boats, etc.). The rest of the missiles sunk four destroyers, two cruisers, seven frigates, a fleet oil tender, a RO/RO ship and critically damaged a cruiser and three frigates. Some eight ships maintained light to moderate damage including the fleet's carrier (which had sustained damage earlier). Flight operations were suspended indefinately with the aircraft taking off to the logistical base in southern Buechoria (one at a time, the ship couldn't accept landing aircraft besides helicopters).

---------------------------------

Of the twenty snipers, fourteen are killed from cannon fire and machine gun fire. The other six are wounded but continue to open fire, still focusing on disabling enemy tanks (therefore slowing movement).

Of the one hundred infantrymen, forty eight are killed with twenty four suffering wounds. The rest escape into the tunnels.

-----------------------------------

The attack on the light artillery wasn't too effective as they had time to move. Twenty pieces, however, were destroyed or rendered useless due to loss of crew, mobility, ammunition, or critical parts.

========================================
Attacks...

As the enemy tanks begin trying to shut down the tunnel system, combat engineers finish wiring massive explosives networks. Six different sites, all below infantry carriers and some tanks are wired each with eight 1000lb bombs (these tunnels weren't far under ground but had massive steel support trusses, bombs were loaded with forklifts and munitions trailers). As the engineers escaped to safety, farther down the tunnels, they detonated the semtex charges wired to each bomb, setting off a massive chain reaction that would be dulled by the ground but still engulf a large amount of infantry vehicles in balls of flame, most likely collapsing the ground to the point the infantry carriers were at least stuck. Worst case scenario for Belem troops: Vaporized in balls of flame. Best case scenario: Infantry carriers stuck in craters or lodged under dirt.

Also, the tunnels served as anti IFV/APC/tank tools as soon as they would collapse, the vehicles would be lodged in the crevices (these tunnels are some eight to ten feet wide [not all])

As soon as it was reported that the bombs had been detonated, the newly reloaded Smerch SBV-Mk.VIII battery (the one with the trailer and eighty semi-guided artillery rockets) fired its full complement of rockets, all high explosive except for ten which were grenade rounds, at the area affected by the bombs.

The 30 155mm howitzers would open fire again, firing only HE this time in three complete barrages at the incapacitated tanks (by sniper fire) and the stalled columns of Belem vehicles and infantry.

Twenty newly deployed 90mm light artillery opened fire on the caved in area with all HE rounds in three barrages. A final barrage was all grenade rounds to hit running infantry and to just increase the sense of confusion.

-----------------------------

The two divisions continued moving, one on either side of the Belem base, slowly encircling it (they were still a bit too far away for land forces to engage).

Vladivostok, USSCR 0126 Zulu
Vladivostok Pacific Air Fleet Dispatch Base

The operation had been going on since 1400 local time the previous day. The sky above Vladivostok was filled with flittering shapes and circling behemoths. The roar was incredible, as approximately 180 aircraft took off and circled, to be tanked while waiting for the flight to begin.

The Flight Consisted of:

40 F-15E Strike Eagle

25 F-22 Raptor

15 A/O Thunderbolt II

60 MiG-29 Refit Fulcrum

40 Su-37 Refit Super-flankers

Tanking these aircraft on the approach to Buechoria was four C-380 tanking variants. The code name for the flight was Spartan.

Various OOC odds and ends:
NOTE! Any USSCR unit killed in action will not be taken as an act of war against the United Socialist States of Communist Rule, but a mercenary casualty.

I'd like a map of Buechoria if at all possible. Or at least a link to the map.

Two CL-19A AWACs/EW aircraft will provide airborne radar, EW, and early detection to the newly arriving USSCR forces. Twenty-four F-57Cs from the 4th Exped. Fleet will provide cover. Since Belem has no long-range radar installations (if there were any, they would've been destroyed), the movement would be unnoticed by Belem unless high-altitude spy planes were present, which was doubtful in wartime.

OOC: ok. so instead of the 62 missiles launched there going to launch approx. 120 agianst the arsenal ship.

Of the 225 missiles headed towards the fleet 175 are shot down by fleet defenses, CAPs and heavy signal jamming as they try to get deep into the fleet to hit the carriers. The light carriers are the hardest hit due to there lack of extra CIWS systems(they only have 1 Steelwall and the 2 standard hotshots and they dont have as much extra armor installed.)

(In addition to the damage mentioned in the above post)
4 Wasps are hit by 5 missiles each sustaining massive damage to there flight decks and hangers and knocking out 20-30 choppers on each boat.
1 Intrepid is hit by 4 missiles taking heavy damage to the flight deck and suspending all flight ops until emergency repairs can be made.
1 Wasp hit by 4 missiles knocking out the control tower and radar grid.
2 Wasps hit by 7 missiles each massive structural damage, ships will have to be scuttled.
1 Wasp hit by 2 missiles flight ops suspended.
1 Intrepid hit by 1 missile taking out portions of the hangover and 6 parked planes.

--------
of the missiles fired against the base 400 get through. Basically the same damage as posted in the above post except 70 Vipers are taken out and more extreme damage to the airfield and supply depots for the base.

--------

The fighters begin withdrawing back to the fleet for refueling and rearmaments. The most fueled aircrafts that can still use directional thrusting for a STOL land on the undamaged Light carriers for refitting to allow the carriers that suffered damage the most free space and time to commence repairs.

40 Fighters stay on CAP over the base.

The 20 Vipers left do emergency landings on the open land in the base. 5 are heavily damaged in the landings. Engineering units start quick repairs on the runways and ports to get them into a more operable condition.

----------------
Attack against ARSB air bases.
In order to deny the use of the ARSB bases to SB and CR the fleet will begin a massive 30 minute long cruise missile attack against the 5 SB bases in Buechoria. Each base will have 100 tomahawks fired against it.
Primary Targets for the air bases: runway junctions, Control towers, Fuel and supply depots, hangers
Primary Targets for Dock bases: Loadind and Unloading equipment, Docks, supply and fuel depots.
Primary Targets for Army Bases: C&C, vechile depots, supply depots, barracks.

-----------------
Attack against SB satelites.

9 F-42s pushing there ceiling limit are each loaded with 1 Sat killer missile. The first two each launch there missile against the SB spy satelites over buechoria. The next 2 fighters launch there missiles 5 minutes later followed by the next 2 in aditional 5 minutes(3 missiles at each target). The launching procedure for the missiles is so that by the time the first missile is distracted by countermeasures the satelite wont have time to deploy counter measures before the next missile is about to hit the satelite.

The additional 3 F-42s maintain orbit waiting to see if the other missiles succeeded if not they will launch there missiles if so they will do the same strategy to any other SB satelites(if any in the area) or return to the fleet.
-------------------
Naval engagements

Against the retreating fleet: The FFGs and cruisers in the fleet not firing cruise missiles at Buechorian bases continue launching barrages against withdrawing fleet. An additional 76 Javelins are fired against the fleet(half high half sea.)

Against the 1st SB fleet(continuation from the wolfpack sneaking in the first post enough time has elapsed for them to get into range): The Lupines using there stealth engines and rubber hulls move into positions 20-30 miles away from the southern tip of the ARSB fleet. Each Sub is a half mile to a mile away from the other subs meaning a front 60-80 miles long. The Lupines launch there first attack with all 80 emptying there 4 forward facing tubes against the SB fleet. These first torpedos are targetted against the most capable ASW ships. They subs immediately begin turning so there rears face the enemy fleet and launch an additional 2 torpedos at enemy the enemy fleet(each sub targets a different ship then the first time.) The subs begin coming back around loading there tubes for another pass...

-----------------
Ground battles

Southern front-

20 tanks and 10 APCs are destroyed in the detonations of the tunnels, an additional 70 and 30 got caught in the cave in. 20 and 15 are destroyed in the bombardment with 200 infantry deaths. Tractors are being deployed from the base to pull the vechiles that cant get out on there own power from the pits.

The rest of the division 850 APCs and 1350 tanks continue there advance towards the souther SB division.

Eastern and western fronts- The 2 divisions both begin to form into attack wedges to attack the two divisions on the sides of the base and start advancing on there positions. Starlight laser systems begin to move into covering positions posturing themselves as regular APCs.

All fronts- The 20 battleships start coming into rocket assisted range for artillery. The battleships begin open firing on SB divisions with high capacity rounds firing 2 volleys(all batteries 4 per ship) for a minute a minute of break then firing an additional 2 volleys. 7 battleships west and eastern fronts and 6 on the south(note southern ones have 4 less batteries due to damage from missiles.) The Southern firing will mainly target artillery in the first two volleys where as the eastern and western will target infantry and tank lines.

OOC: Just to note, satellites SUCK at tracking anything smaller than a continent. A giant oil tanker could disappear from them if it went to sea.

Same with spyplanes. They have virtually no radar to avoid EM emissions, and their cameras would have a VERY hard time capturing a moving aircraft. (They focus on the ground, so if you DID pull the focus WAAAY back they'd look like clouds.)

Somewhere Over the Pacific
Leadship, Spartan Flight

Colonel Romochka Feduleyev felt the jolt as his Su-37 Super-flanker connected to the C-380's massive boom. He watched his digital readout show his fuel level rising. Inside his mind, he knew this was it. He was to be the last to be topped off before the C-380s would break for the more safer ARSB supply base.

He commanded 180 aircraft, and all of them not officially recognised by the USSCR government. He frowned a bit under his oxygen mask, understanding just exactly why. They were 'expendable.'

But DAMNED if they were inexperienced! Colonel Feduleyev had pushed his men through the last week until he was absolutely satisfied each man would not die without taking two airplanes with him. He awoke from his thoughts as his radio cherped, "Fueling Complete. Disengage."

He eased his throttle back as the boom retracted. Infront of him the massive C-380 began to bank to the right, sending a farewell along with the other 5 C-380s, "Citigo flight is outbound."

Colonel Feduleyev acknowledged, "Copy that, Citigo escort disengage and provide escort."

The rear pilots of the formation, a massive "V," began to see all of the A/O-10 Thunderbolt IIs and 15 F-22 Raptors "fall" from the formation and open up their throttles, charging after the C-380s.

Romochka glanced at his MPD, currently showing his navigation points on a topographic map provided by intelligence satellites. He toggled his radio, "Spartan Flight, Emissions Limit ON, confirm identification lights OFF. Radio silence until further notice."

They had been maintaing a good 25,000 feet and getting good fuel consumption, but as they were nearing Belemian radar range they began to dip to a sea-skimming level. Each pilot toggled his "Safe" switch to "Arm."

150 aircraft flew at a sparse 100-50 feet off the seas as they approached Buechoria, weapons armed.

OOC- Well, a break sounds good. I won't be back online until Monday night at the earliest. I'm going grouse hunting (ND Opener).

====================================

The cruise missiles fired against the arsenal ships were far from effective. By the time they arrived to the position, the ship had already submerged and was moving away at a speed of about 12 knots. It was about 3/4ths of a mile away when the missiles struck. However, two nearby frigates were damaged beyond repair with one destroyer sustaining moderate damage. A fast attack submarine maintained light damage from an explosion that scarred her hull.

------------------------

As for the attack on the ARSB bases, damage ranged from light to heavy. Attacks on the army bases were categorized as moderate damage. Not many personnel were killed but numerous structures and vehicles were destroyed. A massive fuel depot was destroyed along with a nearby disposable stores depot. Four barracks structures were hit killing a little more than 100 personnel (mostly medical personnel). Eighteen ST-11 NGBTs were destroyed along with twenty SIV-21s, forty-eight SV-90s, and sixty MMPWV M-04s. Supply structures were also hit, killing about one hundred and fifty personnel and wounding hundreds. About eleven SAH-24s were destroyed with another four maintaing damage. One communications relay station was destroyed, killing thirty personnel and hampering communication lines (not too a serious degree). A satellite uplink center was also hit, killing only twelve personnel but doing little to interrupt the flow of information.

The attack on ARSB air bases created little damage in the southern portion of Buechoria. The front-line bases, however, were hurt... Badly. These bases were scattered and small but most lost their ability to launch and land aircraft with five seperate air bases being rendered useless (there are seven in the front lines; they are small and handle about a dozen aircraft apiece). Seven F-57Cs under maintenance were destroyed along with twenty one F-87s being refueld and re-armed. Two hundred and sixty personnel perished in the attacks. The southern base was the least hit with only about ten or twelve making it the long distance (aircraft fire [especially with F-57Cs], AA, anti-missile, EW, jamming, and scattered CIWS took their toll [it is some 600-800 miles, a long way to be covered]). The attacks there destroyed one of the eleven runways, destroying seven aircraft (four F-87, one F-71, and three F-57C) and killing forty-two personnel. A communications relay was also hit, temporarily cutting off command abilities in the area. Also hit was a surface to air missile storage depot, destroying a dozen trucks and killing fourteen airmen.

Attacks on ARSB naval bases were moderate, at best with damage resulting in the deaths of 460 personnel, the destruction of 40 vehicles, the destruction of eight landing craft, seventeen helicopters, two frigates, a destroyer, and a primary helipad. Four of the seven massive cargo cranes were destroyed with one sustaining damage. Only two remain for unloading procedures. One cargo freighter was hit, causing it to ground itself ashore. An unloading tram system was also destroyed.

-----------------------

The lone geo-sync satellite was easily destroyed. It simply didn't have the countermeasures for the amount of missiles deployed. The destruction was no serious impediment as at any given time, some fourteen ARSB satellites crossed over or near Buechoria in a single 12 hour span.

-----------------------

As for the withdrawing fleet, I'm not sure what you mean so I'll skip it for the moment...

Due to conditions of enemy fire (the fact they were all firing from roughly the same direction. Damage was minimized, to a point, to the fleet. The Unum Veritas-supplied fleet defense catamarans took the biggest hit, with eight of them being sunk (the fleet has twelve). Those ships were primarily light scout and AA defense. Seven ASW frigates were quickly destroyed, many taking more than one torpedo. Another four were heavily damaged with one being expected to sink any moment. Ten destroyers were destroyed with another four being heavily damaged. All four are expected to sink within the day. Two of the fleet's cruisers sustained heavy damage with one sinking. The fleet's aviation cruiser (with VTOL and helo's) was damaged to the point it was evacuated with the aircraft being temporarily housed on the fleet's carrier. One unfortunate coastal patrol diesel/electric submarine was lost as well.

------------------------

Enemy battleship strikes were moderately effective, destroying a large chunk of the light artillery. Battleship strikes on the continuously moving ARSB divisions (on the sides of the ARSB base) were hardly effective, mostly striking where they had just been. However, some two hundred personnel were killed or seriously wounded with an estimated forty vehicles being rendered useless.

=============================
OOC- Remember, your tanks and vehicles are continuously rolling over mines.

-------------

Now that Belem was sending out combat engineer groups to fix the air fields, the ARSB's nearest arsenal ship (stationed off the eastern shore of Buechoria), submerged to a depth of 200 feet, fired off one hundred multiple-warhead cruise missiles (PAC-56W). Each missile had four warheads of comparable size meant to maximize the destroyed area. All of these were aimed towards the engineer forces attempting to return the airfields to an operating status.

-------------

As soon as torpedoes were registered in-bound from the Belem submarines, some twenty HVN-01 ASW helos were launched. Each was outfitted with twin torpedoes as well as up to ten sono-buoys as well as a dipping sonar. Assisting them were four CL-13D ASW aircraft (outfitted with sono-buoys, communications systems, infrared systems, and depth charges). As soon as they were in the area and sonar confirmed the locations of the Belem subs, the twenty helo's each dropped their two torpedoes at a single sub (so, 20 subs would be targetted). The four CL-13D ASW aircraft, after finding the submarine's depths and trajectories with sonar, proceeded to each drop six depth charges which would stabilize within 50 feet of the submarine's depths and along their path (slightly to the side). They would detonate when proximity sensors detected the submarines. These would be targetted mostly at the subs that weren't targeted with torpedoes.

------------

As the Belem spearhed force continued on, they fell into a minor ARSB trap. Six ST-11s, each outfitted with four anti-tank missiles in pods located on the sides of their turrets as well as remote control 25mm anti-armor cannon (located in a mini turret), sat in shallow bunkers with earthen piles piled around them. They had been sitting there for four days now... With not a system running. They emitted no heat (the earthen piles also prevented it) and were covered in branches. As soon as a large number of Belem tanks were in view (it would be hard to see these as there were too many trees, bushes, etc. [even millimetric radar wouldn't find them]), each ST-11's engine roared to life and their coils charged. Within four seconds of them starting, they were ready to fire. Each tank, using their data link, chose completely different targets, each firing their four ATM-7B line-of-sight-anti-tank missile at a seperate tank. The missiles would travel so fast they could penetrate any armor, even the ST-11's advanced twin-layered ERA and extensive kinetic energy dissipating systems. The ATM-7Bs even had explosives in them to maximize damage. (a total of twenty four missiles would be fired against 24 tanks, they would have no time to react or maneuver in their defense). As soon as the missiles were underway, the ST-11s immediately began engaging enemy vehicles with their 145mm ETC main guns and 25mm coaxial cannons. The mini-turreted 25mm armor piercing cannons opened fire on any visible APC/IFVs with stunning speed and rapid fire. The mini-turreted 7.62mm anti-personnel cannon also opened fire, peppering the APC/IFVs. With the account of surprise and the speed of which an ST-11 can reload its main gun, it is estimated they could get off at least 8 rounds apiece before the enemy was aware of their exact positions (they could probably get another two or three off since any returned fire would be hindered by the earthen banks [unless they hit the turret]). The 25mm fire would even be moderately deadly to a tank, especially if it hit it enough times.

The ST-11s were rigged with explosives in the event they were incapacitated and in danger of enemy take-over. They were also surrounded by mines.

--------------

The two divisions on either side of the Belem base side-stepped the Belem forces. Increasing their speed to get on the northern flank of them.

--------------

The second (of 4) Smerch batteries opened up with its newly reloaded 40 rockets. All of them were HE and aimed at the grouped-together Belem forces (being stalled by the ST-11s).

Also joining in were twelve PAC-56A HE-warhead cruise missiles. The original PAC-56 cruise missile. All twelve were fired from truck-mounted mobile launchers. Immediately after firing, the twelve vehicles quickly dispersed. The missiles were aimed at the congested Belem forces being stalled by the ST-11s.

--------------

Eighteen F-71s as well as twelve F-57C as air cover, begin strafing and bombing the Belem attacking force. Each F-71 was outfitted with two 500lb bombs and two 1000 lb bombs as well as a 30mm cannon and two air to ground missiles. Belem air forces should be no problem as its well within ARSB territory and well within range of the EXTENSIVE SAM and AA system in place in and around the ARSB forces. Also, four acquired A-10 Thunderbolt II aircraft in the CAS role have begun harassing Belem forces along the edge of their invading force. Each A-10 is outfitted with all anti-tank missiles and one 500lb munition.

--------------------------

The cruise missiles fired against accomplished only minor success. About forty cruise missiles were shot down through concentrated CIWS, missile, and EW/jamming systems. The remaining 36 managed to sink six frigates, four destroyers, three cruisers, and two patrol boats. Three frigates, one desroyers, and six cruisers maintained moderate damage while four patrol vessels, a cargo vessel, and one of the fleet's battleships maintained light damage. Two of the moderately damaged frigates and one of the cruisers were expected to sink due to damages sustained unless repairs were quick.

you do realize that I didn't even launch the first attack in the beginning of the second war?

And that both sides are using the same form of RP because its a more effective way to describe whats actually happening in the war. The tactics and operations of the entire thearte are whats important to the war that lets you go "oh ok. my troops are losing here here and here. But I have an advantage of here, here and here. How can I use that advantage to help where my troops are weak." With a character RP its harder to see the overall picture or you have to type double posts one from the characters point of view and one of the overall picture.

The posting being used here is the cause and effect posting with sprinkles of character every now and then.

And I dont have even have 5 gajillion missiles to launch and if I did I would assume there would be alot more casualities then 5 people.

====================

Due to the current, "stalemate", if you wish, and due to the relative halt of forces on both sides. The ARSB Parliament and Premier have both issued desires for a cease fire. Once again, this war is heading straight for where it ended up last time, a relative stalemate with neither side gaining ground (well, after the initial ARSB advance until we stopped and demanded a cease fire).
