Just over one year ago, the Mestionian Department of War began development of a multiple-launch rocket system capable of relative independece from field units with enough firepower to make a noticeable difference on the modern battlefield. Today, the culmination of the efforts of the CSM's brightest military technicians is unveiled to the public at large.

The ST-100 Autonomous Multiple-lauch Rocket System (AMLRS "Am-Lers")

The AMLRS system is revolutionary in that it can be fired remotely from distances well in excess of fifty miles, leaving those assigned to these weapons well out of harm's way. AMLRS is a four-pod rocket launcher that is equipped to fire a plethora of warheads, including the N2 Two-kiloton "mini-nuke" currently used by the Mestionian Army.

Each of AMLRS' four rockets is guided by an onboard GPS system, and has a maximum range of two-hundred miles. Initial testing however indicates that for best results targets within one-hundred and seventy miles should be considered "standard". Each rocket is autonomous from the others, allowing for a possibly four-threat target indication if desired. Recent tests placed AMLRS' accuracy at 94% (94/100 hits within 2 meters).

AMLRS small size makes it very difficult to detect by radar, and the heat produced after a launch is dissipated quickly via an on-board cooling system, leaving the window for thermal detection very small at best. However, in the event of detection, AMLRS is equipped with one motion-activated or directly controlled MCMG-3 with two-thousand rounds of depleted uranium ammunition capable of a cyclic rate of 800rpm. This machine gun is intended for dispatching of small numbers of infantry and soft vehicles only, most tank/apc armor demonstrated tough resistance to the MCMG-3's fire.

Perhaps the only major draw-back to the AMLRS system is its vulnerability to air-attack. Because its intended purpose is to attack ground-targets, AMLRS lacks anti-aircraft defenses outside of the MCMG-3, which would hardly prove effective against today's modern striker aircraft. However, in order to maximize its killing power, Confederate scientists have equipped AMLRS with a fail-safe switch, which when activated by detection of a radar lock (from say a missile or bomb) launches all remaining rockets at a pre-determined target package stored in AMLRS' onboard computer. Alas, most planes of the day still carry heavy cannon, so air attack is still a great threat.

Please note, the AMLRS system is only truly effective when used in two fashions:

1. En Masse firing. When three to seven of these systems target a large grouping of armor/infantry/ships with conventional war heads, depending of the number of enemy combatants, the effect is usually devestating both logistically and emotionally. Imagine, enemy units being blown to bits without knowing from where the assault originated. Beautiful no?

2. Single-unit thermonuclear/chemical/biological attack. In the event of unGodly enemy numerical superiority and presence, large groups of expensive weapons systems may not be the way to go, luckily, there is a solution. Equip each of AMLRS' four-rockets with an N2 mini-nuke, and well, let's just say your foes won't be very happy. The same goes for chemical/biological weapons, though these may prove a bit more effective on your opponent's civilian population, military targets are just as viable an option.

Exportation of this new weapons system has been ordered subject to open diplomatic relations by the Confederate Congress.

I don't have a use for these, thanks for the offer though
