Harmonia Mortus 'Space ships'

Harmonia Mortus

A brief history:
Harmonia Mortus is the union of two kingdoms, The Dark Lands, the subterranian kingdom of the Keepers (also called Hell by some, but they dont count), and Harmonia, or the Sunlit Kingdom.
True, the Harmonians werent too keen on it.
First off, the Keeper Charnel subjigated or destroyed every other keeper, uniting the Dark Lands and establishing an offensive force greater than most of the population of the Sunlit Kingdom. At this point the invasion commenced and huge tracts of land were taken by the Dark Army, the Heros were killed off, the Lords of the Land, King Reginald the Just, and every other leader of Harmonia was beheaded and then quartered, burned, stuffed into cannons and shot into the ocean.
There was a brief period of protest, but the Harmonians soon learned of 'police brutality' when they were eaten by trolls.

Species:
Harmonia Mortus is home to a number of differnt races, mostly fantastic.

Keepers: A keeper is basicaly a thaumic-based lifeform, a being of almost pure magic, which usualy takes a solid form to communicate with others.
Keepers are immensly powerful beings, usualy the only thing that can take another Keeper on is a Keeper.
While nearly invulnerable directly, they do have a weakness, their 'heart', which is basicaly a structure that stores magic, also stores their 'brain', which means that if a Keepers heart is destroyed, they lose all personality, though memories surface occasionaly, resulting in 'paranormal activity' or ghosts. A Keeper can be brought back if his heart is rebuilt and allowed to gather magic for some time.

Goblins: Most of the military is comprised of Goblins, your basic greenskinned humanoid, about three to four feet tall, with a major infiriority complex. They man most of the armies tanks, vehicles, and aircraft. They are fairly intelligent, but have a stupid streak every now and then.
They are excellent miners, a unique feature of the species is a 'third lung' lined with bacteria that convert carbon monoxide and dioxide into oxygen. While its not enough for them to live in a room with no oxygen in it forever it can greatly extend their lifespan in such situations.
They also have a love of explosives, which is sometimes suicidal.

Trolls: Big, ugly and dumb. They are the heavy labour of Harmonia Mortus, as well as its foot soldiers. Their method of manufacture is basicaly 'Bash it till it sticks'.
Their prefered weapons are large blunt instruments, although some use swords and spears. A few attempts to manufacture 'troll bows' resulted in lots of broken bows.
Trolls are silica-based lifeforms, that is, they are made of stone. They eat rocks. Legends about trolls eating humans are pure fiction. They cant digest meat. This hasnt stopped them from trying though.
They eat rocks, actually.

(Forthcoming expansions)

Navy (Space):
You may or may not know, but we take a rather unconventional approach to space travel.
We use ships. As in wooden ones.
Keep in mind that most of these used to be normal waterbound ships with a few conversions.

A few other notes:
Most everything on the ships are run by magic, the takeoff process involves a bunch of mages lifting the ship with magic (Both on land and on the ship), once it gets high enough energy crystals take over, moving the ship and projecting the field that keeps the ships atmosphere in.
Weapons are typically magical as well, a Thaumic Cannon basicaly launches a beam of raw magic at enemies, which can variously cause instant disintigration, melting, or being turned into something.

The crews:
Goblins are more techinical than most races, they run the machinery and such, and tell everybody else what to do. They also man the guns and steer the ship
Trolls are dumb, but quite strong, they act as repairmen for any big projects.
Mages are basicaly the engines, they maintain the magical aspects of the ships, and usualy captain the thing as well since they think theyre smarter than everybody/thing else.
The knights are marines, they basicaly defend the ships.
Imps are servants, they do all the simple menial tasks that nobody else wants to do.

So heres the specs:

Galleon:
Length: 400ft
Width: 50ft
Crew:
45 Goblins
20 Trolls
30 Mages
5 Knightes (Act as marines)
Various Imps

Armament:
10 Thaumic cannons
20 conventional cannons
Assorted boarding hooks, planks and that sort of thing.

Power:
5 Energy crystals (Up, down, left, right and forward)
Crews of mages on shifts to charge the crystals.

Desc:
The first ship of the Harmonia Mortus Space Forces, also called Mort, there are no plans to make more.
Currently its also the ONLY ship, there are plans for more of differnt classess.

Umm, very original. Maby crossing the line between future tech and fantsy a bit, but who cares?! (I like the idea. :))

OOC:
Mostly I took it from Magic: The Gathering. Of course my nation is mostly based on Dungeon Keeper, with Discworld influences :P
The reason I decided to go for a futuretech approach was that modern nations really dont like this sort of thing, and there are very few RPing fantasy nations...

Sorry Moleland, didnt see your post.
They stand up to a good amount of firepower, magic is very versatile and during combat the mages can generate a pretty tough shield, naturaly the hull itself isnt very tough.
Also, the magical particles (Read: Thaums) can be blocked by most shields which deflect a laser or similar. While magic isnt exactly energy, its similar.

That makes my quote of the day.

For the record, you might be interested in Ermor... Magic (based on Dominions), an undead nation that hates all living... And since I 'accidentally' (ok, it was a plot device to allow him undeads in spaaaaaaace) dropped a merchant fleet on him, he's spacedy, too.

((Excellent another Fantasy-Spacenation... Welcome to the club IC response coming shortly. For the record we use Spelljammers, Sailing boats that also sail the stars. (although in our case they are no longer made of wood but something else. Not metal, but they faced at one point a large number of Trolls of the D&D persuasion and fire on woodern boats is bad... So designs where altered.))

Der Angst: Woohoo! Im semi-notfamous already! *feels happy*
But I dont think we would get on with Ermor...there are living things here :P

Giltheran: Now I feel un-original >_<
