Election Day... (Semi-Closed)
Nationalist Party Headquarters: Haton
Brusilov, latest polls please... barked Fyodor Zyteslav, Nationalist party candidate for the office of Prime Minister. Brusilov, his campaign manager glanced at his computer screen.
"53 percent for the Libertarian Communists to our 43%. Another failed year, I guess..."
Zyteslav chuckled, and Brusilov looked over at him inquisitively.
"What are you up to, Fyodor?"
Zyteslav looked around to make sure the room was empty, most of the staff had gone home for the night.
"We are going to win this election. It's quite illegal, but it is for the good of the country. After all, we can't be dealing with damn foreigners all the time, especially those damn Dersconi."
-----------------------
Commisariat of Elections building: Haton
The counting was done, so most of the workers had left for the night, except for the janitor and the security guards. Security though, was rather minimal, because no Hattian would expect anyone to do anything as dishonorable as rig elections. Several dark figures moved quickly towards the building. Once they were at the side, they tossed grappling hooks up onto the top of the squat, concrete building.
The figures quickly scaled the wall and made their way to the main ventalation duct. They removed the grate and put it silently on the ground. They looked down into the main room, which the duct was directly over.
Two of the figures lowered ropes down into the room, while to others secured the ropes to whatever they could find. Once in the room, they computer expert, who was a former hacker for the HFIA Hacker corp, quickly broke the security on the computer and brought up the counting program. Then the 2 men removed quite a few piles of smallish ballots that they had previously stolen from bags that they carried, one man laid them in the hopper and activated the machine. They then quickly climbed up the rope and left the building without a trace...
In other areas of the country, identical operations were taking place...

HNN News Report: 4th of September, 20??
In an unexpected victory, the Hattian Nationalist party won the Prime Ministerial elections with 53% of the vote to the Libertarian Communist party's 43%. In addition to winning the office of Prime Minister, the Nationalists won Prefectureships to various territories.
Fmr. Prime Minister Andropov (LibCom) has not released a statement, but is expected to do so soon...

Executive Building: Haton
"Damn Nationalists..." muttered Alexei Andropov.
He had previously had a feeling that the Nationalists were up to something, and this video confirmed it. He had had security cameras installed in the ballot counting buildings a day before the elections commenced.
"If they will stoop to this, I have to get this out of the country..."
He quickly scribbled on the side of the tape, "Hattian election fraud" He then printed off a few screenshots, saved them to his computer and stuffed them in an envelope.
He quickly went out of his office and addressed the Secretary,
"Send this video tape to the R.I. Andropov National Bank of Derscon, and this envelope to the Bank Pi of Derscon. Do not tell anyone about this..."
She nodded and went off to complete the task. Andropov made his way to his car, he was feeling sick. Whether it was an actual disease, or just seeing what had happened, he felt like he was going to vomit. He climbed in his car and drove off towards his house on the edge of the city. He would go public later today...
He arrived at his house. He made his way to his bed, stumbling occasionally and collapsed onto his bed, falling asleep instantly...
The Commissariat of Foreign Affairs has officially TAGGED this thread.
R.I. Andropov National Bank of Derscon
The bank security guards (who were all ex-Dersconi Marines) were doing their routes when a late package came in. Hmm, wonder what this is, one of them thought. THey knew not to open the bos, though. They looked at the serial number and the destination.
Holy shit! the guard thought. Vault thirteen. Vault thirteen was THE safest privately-owned place in Derscon. Only the Bank CEO was allowed to open the doors. He walked up to the CEO's office. THe secretary was out, so he just knocked on the door.
"Who is it?" the CEO called out angrily.
"A security guard, sir."
"Fine, come in." THe guard entered the room and saluted. He dropped the salute and put the package on the Director's desk. "Sir, this is a package that is to go to Vault Thirteen." THe CEO raised an eyebrow and picked up the package. "Well, let's go then." The CEO led the guard, who was carrying the package, to the private elevator. They both entered, and the CEO put his eyes to the retinal scanner. The elevator went down seven stories underground before coming to a halt. THe doors opened and they walked through the hallway, passing each seperate vault, protected by a four-inch reinforced concrete door.
They finally made it to Vault Thirteen. The CEO put his eyes to the scanner, and the huge blast door opened. Vault thirteen had a blast door so that you could put one hundred pounds of TNT in front of it and detonate it and all it would leave was a white mark. In vault thirteen, they moved to the very back. There was a single, gray door. THe passcode was put in, and the door opened. THey walked in, opened the gate to a section, and placed the package in the gate. THey then left, after closing everything.
==========================================
Bank Pi of Derscon
Bank Pi of Derscon was not yet closed, so there was an attendant to get the small package from who-knows-where. She took it down to the vault, put it in a security deposit box, and left to go up and close.
Executive Building: Haton
The janitor was idly sweeping the floor as the secretary and Andropov walked out of his offices. He caught site of a videotape being carried by the secretary. As they left, he pulled out his cell phone and dialed up the Nationalist Party headquarters...
"Andropov and a secretary are leaving with a videotape, I recommed investigation..."
-----------------------
The secretary was standing at the bus stop after delivering the package to the postmaster. It was late at night and there was no one else in sight, except for a group of men walking towards the bus stop. She wasn't worried, crime rarely happened in Hattia, at least she wasn't worried until one of the men grabbed her and cupped his hand around her mouth.
They dragged her out of sight. One of the men whispered while another pointed a gun at her face.
"What was on that videotape, tell me or you die!"
She began to sob and forced out the words, "Election, rigged, R.I. Andropov bank, Derscon..."
The men nodded, one of them pulled out an autoinjector and stuck it in her arm. She sunk to the ground and they carried her off. After all, you couldn't have evidence...
-----------------------
Nationalist Party Headquarters: Haton
Mr. Prime Minister, the secretary has been detained. They must've had security cameras installed recently. They shipped it off to the R.I. Andropov National Bank of Derscon."
'Prime Minister' Zyteslav nodded, "Call up the military base, ask for Colonel Petrenko, 115th People's Guard Commandoes. He's a friend of mine, I believe I have a favor to ask..."
-----------------------
Dersconi Airspace
2 largish transport helicopters entered into Dersconi airspace, the lead pilot radioed ahead...
"This is Flight Alpha-two-nine out of Hattia, the Minister of the Hattian Arms Corp has a deposit he wishes to make in the R.I. Andropov National Bank. Request permission to land on top of the bank, our cargo is quite sensitive...
Unfortunately for the Dersconi, instead of the rather elderly Minister of the HAC, onboard were 30 members of the 115th People's Guard Commandoes. They were to make a withdrawal...
-----------------------
Alexei Andropov's House
Andropov dozed peacefully in his bed. He felt himself being pushed and opened his eyes. He saw several men with AKs, his first instinct was to go for his gun under his pillow, unfortunately they had already taken it.
"Shit!"
One of the men spoke from behind his mask in a gruff voice...
"Mr. Andropov, the Prime Minister wishes you to take a vacation..."
With that, the nearest man clubbed Andropov with the butt of his rifle. They picked up the now unconcious Andropov and took him out to the car. After driving out to a small airfield, they flew towards the Bay of Hattia...

RI Andropov National Bank of Derscon
The security guard monitoring the roof was dumbfounded. What the hell does Hattia want? He looked at the choppers and did not quite trust them.
TRANSMISSION TO FLIGHT ALPHA-TWO-NINE
PLEASE STAND BY. PREPARATIONS ARE BEING MADE
By "preparations" he meant that the security guards were getting their G36's. The building was currently occupied by the CEO, the president, fifteen janitors, and one hundred security guards, armed with G36's, .50 Desert Eagles, and each has a flashbang grenade. All the guards have Kevlar, and are all ex-Marines. Half of them carry their Marine sabres, and are skilled with their use.
Ten armed Security Officers walked up on to the roof, and there were ten others on the level below. Another thirty guards were on the VIP level of the building, protecting the CEO, President, and the elevator to the Vault Floor. Thirty other guards were scattered accross the building, and the remaining twenty were sent to protect the Vault Level.
The head security guard turned on the roof lights and radioed to the Hattian helocoptors.

Inside one of the helicopters, Colonel Petrenko set his plan into motion. As the helicopters sat down, he and his men walked out. Petrenko assumed the posture of one who has a rather important position. He approached the security guard, flanked by his men.
"I am Colonel Petrenko, Hattian Army. I am also the minister of the stateowned Hattian Arms Corporation. I need to speak to the head of this bank, I have some special 'arrangements' that I'd like to speak with him about."

The Security Guard looked at the bodyguards. "Okay. PLease only take four with you. THe masses of men are not necessary."
Petrenko glanced over at his men and nodded. Four of the men in front stepped forward...
"Lead the way..."
THe guard nodded and turned around. He led them through the giant maze called the top floor and made their way to the office of the CEO. THe secretary was there, which was odd.
"I didn't know you were working late," the guard said.
"Yes, I had to. There was some stuff I had to do. You need to see the boss?"
"Yes, I do."
"Okay." She pressed a button, and a *click* was heard. THe door was unlocked, and the guard went to open the door.
Petrenko followed the guard into the room. At the sight of the CEO, he bowed slightly and began speaking...
"Hello, Mr. CEO. I am Colonel Petrenko of the Hattian Army. I've got a deposit I'd like to make into the most secure vault that you have..."
---------------
The Island of Vanstock: 204 miles south of Haton
The small plane touched down in the clearing, kicking up clouds of white snow under it's wheels. After it had halted, 2 men jumped out, carrying Andropov, who was unable to walk after being beaten on the flight.
One of them men pulled a pistol out of his coat and tossed it down the field,"There, one bullet, use it wisely..." he said while chuckling cruelly.
The two men climbed on to the plane and flew off, while Andropov made his way to the gun. He fell on all fours and put some snow in his mouth, he was parched and soon would be starving.
"I've gotta get a fire going, or I won't survive the night..." he thought to himself. He put the pistol in his belt and stumbled off in search of brush for a fire.
After a while, he had gathered enough brush and piled it under a tree. He cleared off most of the snow. He picked up two rocks and scraped them together desperately.
He grinned wildly when a small spark ignited the pile. Andropov piled the rest of the brush and wood on it. That should last for the night... he mumbled to himself.
He layed down beside the fire and fell asleep quickly...
The CEO looked up and saw the uniforms of the guards. Holy shit, Hattian Special Forces the CEO thought. He eyed the person with suspision.
"May I inquire as to what the deposit is, and why you brought Hattian Special Forces with you?" With that mentioning, the Bank guards got tense.
Petrenko grinned, "Ah, I'm rather suprised you've recognized my uniform. Well, I brought these guys to watch my back when I do this..."
As quick as lightning, a largish pistol appears in his hand, pointing straight at the CEO's face. The other 4 men pointed their guns at the guard and the secretary. He pulled out a radio and sent a message up to the men on the roof...
---------------
On the roof
The radios of the commandoes crackled to life. The voice of Petrenko came over them, speaking it fast paced Hatti.
The Commandoes looked to each other and grinned evilly. They drew their silenced pistols and set to work...
Rooftop: R.I. Andropov National Bank of Derscon
The choppers were shut down, and an erie quiet enveloped the roof. While the one RIANBD guard was surveying the Hattian guards, he noticed one pull out a pistol and begin to raise it towards him. He shouted out:
"GUN! OPEN FI-" but was cut off with a pistol round to the head. THe RIANBD guards took no hesitation to open fire on the Hattian guards with their G36's. Half took cover, while the others just shot at the guards. One guard, who took cover behind a vent, radioed to the security command center.
Security, this is Rooftop guard! The Hattians have opened fire! Repeat the Hattians have o--
The message was cut short by a guard driving his knife in his first vertebre.
================================
CEO's Office
The guard showed no emotion. He knew the CEO's desk was big and thick enough. His one hand was already in his pocket where the flashbang grenade was. He pulled the pin in his jacket and counted to two. ON three, he threw the grenade at the feet of the guards and jumped behind the desk. He did not make it, due to the one Hattian killing him, but it was enough of a distraction for the CEO to duck down, press the alarm button, and grab his Desert Eagle. He knew that only the Desert Eagle could go through the desk, and that the Hattian probably knew he needed the CEO alive to get to the vaults. He just sat under the desk and waited.
OOC: The Desert Eagle has seven rounds in the clip, and one in the chamber)
================================
Bank Security Office: Second Basement Level
The guard was looking over the security camera feed when he saw gunfire open up on the roof. He was stunned at first, but then he got a radio transmission.
Security, this is Rooftop guard! The Hattians have opened fire! Repeat the Hattians have o--
When the message was cut off, he knew what happened. He was about to press the building-wide alarm, but someone beat him to it. He knew there was only one other person with the BUILDING-WIDE alarm -- the CEO.
"The CEO is in trouble!" He got on a line with the Kremlin. Since this was the largest bank, and he was the head security officer, he had open access to the only person that mattered right now -- General Hugues de Payens, Commander of the Second Division of the Legio Dei, the Czar's personal army -- The Knights Templar Division.
Payens: General Hugues de Payens, who is this?
Guard: This is the head security officer of the RI Andropov National Bank of Derscon
Payens: Yes? What do you need?
Guard: Hattian Special Forces have attacked the bank. There is currently a firefight on the roof, and I suspect the CEO is in trouble.
Payens: The CEO? He is the Czar's cousin. If he is killed, there will be hell to pay.
Guard: That is why I called you.
Payens: I do not trust myself. I will patch you through to the Czar.
"Wow," the security guard said. "THe Czar."
This is the Czar. Good day.
Guard: Day -- yes, your majesty. Not exactly good.
Czar: What is the situation?
Guard: Hattian Special Forces have attacked the bank. There is currently a firefight on the roof, and I suspect the CEO is in trouble.
Czar: MY cousin?
Guard: Yes.
Czar: Stay put. I'm sending the Praesidii Dei.
Guard: The Praesidii Dei?
Czar: The special forces of the Legio Dei.
Guard: Okay. I'll stand by.
Czar: Good. I'm signing out.
======================================
OOC: The Praesidii Dei are the special forces of the Czar's personal army. They were hand-picked form every special forces organization, and from the Derscon Intelligence Agency, and the National Security Agency: THird Echelon. They went through rigourous training, and only one quarter of them passed, and one eighth died during training.
Good luck, Hattia! :D ;)
Rooftop
"Fall back to the choppers!" shouted Commisar Anatova as the firefight broke out. They had a fighting retreat to the protection of the helicopters and their armored skin, though several didn't make it.
Once in the helicopters, they deployed their weapon made just for this kind of situation and issued to all helicopters. They took out and quickly assembled the TRAP. Once it was assembled, they tied a rope to it and slid it out the back of the chopper.
The squads computer experts deployed their command consoles and activated the weapons. They began to take shots at the guards with impunity with the .50 caliber rifle that they were in remote control of.
OOC: Yes, this is a real world weapon...
---------------
CEO's Office
"Cover!" shouted Petrenko as he saw the flashbang land at his feet. He made a split-second decision and dove on top of the flashbang as the three other men made their way quickly out of the room.
Three of the men pushed over the Secretary's desk and covered the hallway, while the other one readied his flashbang, after waiting for two seconds, he peeked out and chucked it behind the CEO's desk...
Petrenko, who thought the exploding flashbang felt like a hard punch to the stomach covered his ears and eyes as the other flashbang went off.
Two of the men outside the office pulled out their rifles and quickly made their way around the desk, they pointed their rifles at the CEO and shouted,
"Drop your gun, or we will shoot off your legs..."
OOC: I know the TRAP weapons are real -- I have some. Whether they are in the bank or not---- *evil grin* ;)
Back to the show.....
Rooftop
Some of the guards got shots off at the chopper and the soldiers, but those not well hidden were mowed down my the machine gun fire.
There was one person behind the vent shaft, which was strong enough to take the fire. He was a marksman. He was a sniper in the Delta Force, with a accuracy record of one hundred fifty kills to one hundred forty bullets. (yes, that is possible) He was sweating. Never had he ever been caught in a crossfire. "I have to calm down," he spoke to himself. HE started to slow his breathing down, so his heart rate would go down. He closed is eyes and said a small prayer before attching the small scope to the desert eagle. He put a specialised scilencer so it was about as loud as a .22, and much more accurate than a pistol would normally be. A little place to rest your other hand was attached to the scilencer, making it look like a mini submachine gun. He crouched down and flipped off the lights on the roof. He then turned on the night vision on the miniscope. He peeked around the corner, and took aim at the pilot's head. Okay. Once I get him, It will be the copilot. Then the gunner. HE took a deep breath, exhaled, and pulled the trigger.

CEO's Office
The CEO was in a state of shock, having lost his courage of being a combat soldier. He ejected the clip and dropped the gun. He wouldn't leave from under the desk, though.

The pilot's head exploded in a cloud of red and pink. The co-pilot, who was no idiot, slid out of his seat and back into the cargo area of the chopper, where he wouldn't be visible. The Desert Eagle wouldn't be able to penetrate the armored shells of the helicopters...

CEO's Office
One of the soldiers picked up the pistol and quickly disassembled it, tossing the parts across the room while the other soldier picked up the CEO's by the shirt and growled, "Tell your men to lay down their weapons and we won't kill them if they do... Now!"
OOC: Beauitiful weapons, if I might say so myself. :)
CEO's Office
THe CEO was trying to hide his fear -- but failing, for the most part. "Okay." The CEO pressed the button to go on to the PA system.
THIS IS THE CEO. ALL DERSCONI GUARDS ARE TO STAND DOWN AND HAND OVER YOUR WEAPONS. When he turned it off, the CEO pressed a hidden button under his desk. The alert only went one place -- nowhere else.
=================
Bank Security Center
The head security guard saw the button light up and pressed it. The middle monitor lit up and showed the CEO's office from the microscopic camera hidden in the painting of the Eye of Providence*. There, he could see the Hattians holding the CEO hostage. He zoomed in on the face of what looked like the commander and did a database search in the NSA Databank.

"I don't care," the Chief of Security said. "That is all I need to know. This goes straight to the Czar." He was one of the few people that had the Czar's personal phone number -- and it was for reasons like this one.
This is Andropov.
Guard: This is the Chief of Security from RIANBD, again.
Czar: Yes?
Guard: I have ID'd the leader of the people attacking the bank.
Czar: Who?
Guard: Colonel Petrenko, Commander; 115th People's Guard Commandoes.
Czar: Dear God...... what would they want?
Guard: I'm guessing something that is locked in a vault.
Czar: Do you have the transaction records?
Guard: Only the CEO is allowed to access them. Technically, I could, but--
Czar: Do it. I'll stay on the line.
Guard: Yessir.
"This will be fun," the guard said as he walked over to the main terminal. He started to access the CEO's account when it came up to the password screen. On another terminal, he brought up the list of passwords and accounts. Okay, account: Weishaupt, Adam. Password: D5I0I3.
He typed it in and got in to the account. He did not suspect, though, that Adam's monitor would be on.
========================
CEO's OFFICE
*BEEP!*
"What the...?" Adam said, turning to his monitor. The enite list of assets was being posted on his computer. "What?!? Someone is accessing my computer!" Finally, it got to the assets deposited that day. Although it did not say WHAT is was, it did say where it came from. Finally, the bar stopped at one item.
FROM: Hattia
TO: Vault Thirteen
OTHER: Upmost importance
The Hattian Colonel smiled. "Well, I will have to thank the hacker later." He shoved the gun in Adam's face. "Take me to vault Thirteen."

"Got it," the CoS said. He looked back over to the screen and stared at horror. "Holy shit..." he said, his voice trailing off when he saw the CEO's monitor. It was on, and it was stil lhilighting the package, and what vault it is in. HE quickly ran over to the phone.
Sir, I got it.
Czar: What is it?
Guard: It is a package from Hattia. Sent to 13.
Czar: That must be it. Can you stop them?
Guard: Not really. Only way would be to shut power down.
Czar: No, we do not want to make a scene. I'm sending in my guys.
Guard: The Praesidii Dei?
Czar: Yes.
Guard: Do you want me to send you the security camera feed?
Czar: Yes, that would be great Send it to the Situation Room.
Guard: Can do, sir. I shall keep you updated.
Czar: Thanks. Out.
=======================
Kremlin Palace
The Czar ran down to the Kremlin's Situation Room and started getting the camera feed. He then had another giant screen switch to the public cameras outside the bank. He then pressed a button, and the forty best trained men in the Greater Prussian Empire walked in. They were known as The Black Angels. The Eliete of the Praesidii Dei[/i. (Which says a lot, but I won't get into detail -- might confuse people ;) ) The Czar turned around and looked at them all.
"Good evening, gentlemen." He had a slight smile on his face, always finding it amusing that he called the best assassins and special ops "gentlemen." The Czar ran through the events involving the bank, including the identity of the Hattian Colonel, which a picture of appeared on another monitor.
"Your objectives are to:
1: secure the building
2: Ensure the suvival of the CEO and the CoS
3: Protect the package in the vault
4: Take the colonel into custody, if possible. If not, kill him
5: Secure and rescue any hostages that might be captured.
You will be deploying shortly. I will allow you to stay here and plot your entrance."
"Before we go..." said Petrenko, grinning like a madman, "I want you to call up your Czar, who has doubtlessly been informed of the situation here, and tell him that if he tries to rescue you guys, we have a rather large dirty bomb that we will set off. It should give just about everyone within several miles radiation sickness, cancer and whatnot."
"All we want is to get our package and leave. If that happens, no one else will die, but if something should happen, I will castrate you on the spot and set off the bomb..."
To further illustrate his point, he withdrew a rather evil looking curved knife from it's sheathe and pointed it towards the CEO's nether regions...
OOC: Yes, this is a bluff, but your people shouldn't have any way of knowing that, and from the way Petrenko is grinning, they should take him seriously...
Derscon, hello...?
Anyone there?
Office of the CEO "Okay..." he said, stammering. He got online with the Czar.
Czar: Hello?
CEO: This is Adam Weishaupt.
Czar: Good Lord, are you okay?
CEO: Well, no, not really.
Czar: I'm off to a meeting with some Atlantican and Greater Prussian delegates soon. What do you need.
CEO: Well, there is a dirty bomb in the building. If you send troops, he'll detonate it.
Czar: My instincts tell me that is bullshit. I'll do a scan of the building to make sure, though.
CEO: I don't know, they seem serious.
Czar: He's Hattian special forces. He would have been shot already if he couldn't feign seriousness.
CEO: Okay. I'm signing off.
Czar: Good luck.
The CEO turned back to the Hattian. "There, I called him. What now?"
====================
Bank Security Center
"Damnit," the guard said. He turned over to the display of the power grid. "If I could only just shut off the power...." He shook his head. "Well, God be with him."
"Now, you take me to the vault.
Sheathing his knife and pulling out his pistol, he pulled out a radio in his other hand and turned it on. After chattering in Hatti for a few seconds with someone on the radio, he put it back in his pocket and turned his attention back to the CEO.
He turned back to the CEO and pressed the pistol up against the base of his neck. One of the remaining soldiers turned and faced the CEO at a short distance, his rifle pointing towards the CEO's gut and the one remaining soldier walked beside the CEO.
"Now, go..."
--------------
Meanwhile, on the top of the building, the Dersconi soldiers were disarmed and injected with an anasthesia. After that was done, snipers and AA men took up positions along the roof.
They had orders to shoot anything with a gun. The ones with regular rifles either took up positions here, or made their way down to defend the entrance. Several other men hauled large boxes off the helicopter.
They put them on handtrucks and ran off towards vital structural points in the building. Once they were there, they began to wire up the explosives. They weren't radioactive, but they'd bring the building down quite quickly.
Once they were done with that, they made their way outside and begin setting up proximity mines. After they had exhausted their supply, they ran back in and took up defensive positions...
Special Helo Delta 7
En Route to R.I. Andropov National Bank of Derscon
"Okay, here's the situation," the face on the screen said to the Black Angels. "Hattian Special Forces have taken the R.I. Andropov National Bank of Derscon. They have taken the CEO of the bank, and are probably using him to get to the vaults. They rigged the place to blow, and we don't know if there are any hostages." (OOC: HINT HINT, HATTIA! Janitors and guards)
"We can't go in on the roof -- they have men with RPG's and snipers. We can't go in on the ground bacause they placed proximity mines around the building."
"So how DO we get in?" Domingo Chavez, the leader of the Black Angels asked. John Clark, the man giving instructions, just smiled.
"There is a hotel ajacent from the building. There is a room we reserved that can get you into a storage area and make your way to the roof." He nods at Dieter Weber, the sniper. "I gave you a grappling hook for a reason. Loiselle, Price, Santiago, sit tight."
The Helocoptor landed about half a mile away from the buildings. It dropped a quiet car and they hopped in and sped to the hotel building. Domingo and Dieter ran up through the back way and went up to the roof. They kicked open the door and headed to the edge. Chavez raised an eyebrow and looked at Weber. "You thinking what I'm thinking?" Domingo said to Dieter. Dieter looked at the grappling hook and smiled. "Indeed," he said. "Hope you can climb fast. Once I launch it, I'll cover you."

CEO's Office
"Okay," he said, still scared. He put his eyes to the retinal scanner and the thick door opened. He got in, and the Hattians followed. The door shut, and the CEO pressed the elevator to go down to the vault level.
=====================================
Bank Security
"Shit!" the guard said. He got on the comm system to the guards at vault level.
This is base security. Hostiles approaching at the elevator.
CEO is with them. Watch your fire.
He switched to the vault view and waited. He was prepared to cut the power should they enter the main vault -- with or without the Czar's permission.
On top of the building, some of the soldiers had rounded up most of the guards and janitors. They tied some up and placed them on the roof, in full view of everyone. A few others, they put just below the roof. They also deployed the TRAPs along the perimeter of the roof.
----------------
Petrenko was not stupid, by any definition of the word. He moved behind the CEO and faced the door. As the door opened, he shouted,
"Nobody move! Anyone try anything and we all will die. You guards, drop your weapons. We have a nice little dirty bomb rigged up for you guys if you want to test our will, it should demolish this building and give everyone within a few miles radiation poisioning." He jammed the barrel of the gun into the CEO's spine with considerable force, "Open the vault, so we can be on our way."
OOC: Hopefully, we get on AIM sometime soon -- we need to discuss the further plot of this.
===========================
Vault Level
THe four guards in plain view laid down their weapons, but there were others. One guard further back crouched and took aim at the shoulder of the CEO. He switched it to single fire and the other guards got ready to return the Hattian's imminent counter-fire.
*BAM!*
The 5.56 round in the shoulder of the CEO caused him to drop to the ground, leaving no cover for the Hattians. The ten other guards proceeded to open fire, and the four in plain sight picked up their weapons and retreated to the darkness of the lightless halls. The CEO crawled to the elevator, under the spray of bullets. If I can make it, he thought to himself. I can lock them down in the vault level.
A Dersconi guard threw a flashbang towards the Hattians, and it landed ten feet away from the CEO. When it exploded, the CEO went unconcious.
=====================================
Ajacent Building
Domingo nodded to Dieter and he nodded back. Weber took aim and fired the grappling hook. He fed out the rope and tied it on to a beam running across the edge of the building. The cable was strong enough to hold Chavez, but all it needed was to be cut at a certain spot on the beam and it would let go. Dieter Weber switched to the scilenced 7.62 sniper rifle and turned to Domingo Chavez.
"Ready?"
OOC: Hello? Hattia?
*echo*
Vault Level
Petrenko cursed and rolled to the side. He got quickly back into a kneeling position and sprayed bullets in the direction of the guards.
"Pop a smoke!" he roared towards the other commandoes.
One pulled a smoke grenade out and tossed it into the center of the room. Petrenko blacked out for a few seconds as the Flashbang went off behind him. Once he regained his senses, he fired off more shots and made a dash for the elevator. On his way, he grabbed the CEO's shirt and quickly dragged him back into the elevator.
While he was doing this, the others were leapfrogging back towards the elevator, launching a hail of rounds towards the guards. Once they made it to the elevator, Petrenko slammed the button to take them up. As the door closed, a bullet made it through and smashed into one of the commandoes, splattering blood all over the occupants of the elevator.
Petrenko looked down at the now headless body and cursed. The elevator dinged happily as it ascended the building...
Rooftop of Ajacent Building
"Go!" Dieter said. Chavez got on and kicked off from the building and slid out about a quarter of the way there. Chavez slowly crawled along the grappling line to the other building, hoping everything would go okay.
It didn't.
=========
Room Outlooking the Streets, RIA National Bank
A Hattian guard was looking out over the street and got bored. He stretched, and as he looked up, he saw a figure in the sky. What the hell? He picked up his binoculars and saw Chavez. "Crap!" He got on his radio and sent a message to a sniper on the roof.
We've got Company.
===========
Rooftop
THe sniper was looking over the street when he hear the radio. He picked up his rifle and saw Chavez. He radioed back and put Domingo in his sights.
I'm on him.
============
Grappling Rope
Domingo Chavez was looking up when he saw the sniper move towards him. His heart started to pound a little when he radioed Dieter.
Cover me!
================
Rooftop of Ajacent Building
I'm on Him Dieter Weber radioed back as he aimed his sniper rifle. He fired and put a 7.62 round in the Hattian's head, making him fall to the ground. Shit! It is going to hit the mines! Thankfully, it didn't, and it landed right in front of the main door. Two Hattian guards rushed out, saw the body, and looked up. BLOW THE BOMB!
THe Air conditioning vent closest to the road blew off in a cloud of fire and fell down right towards Domingo. Domingo just stared at it. Shit.
Dieter saw the air conditioner vent and took his knife out. He cut the grappling rope, sending Domingo flying into the Bank -- tarzan style.
==================
Room 1254
A Hattian guard was standing there. He turned to look out the window when he saw a pair of boots flying towards him. The glass shattered, and Chavez kicked the Hattian in the face. Domingo looked at him and snapped the Hattians neck. "Sorry there, old chap."
He made his way to the roof via access tunnels and stairwells -- thankfully unguarded. He was about to open the door to the "anteroom" of the roof when he heard voices. He pulled out his optic lens and snuck it under the door to see three Hattian guards sitting there talking. "Shit. OKay, plan B." He went down at the bottom of the stairwell and waited. (OOC: IN other words, I'll finish this part later)
=====================
Vault Level
"Good, we scared them off," a guard said. "Now, lets start locking these vaults down. Someone radio the Security Center."
(OOC: Better make a move soon, Hattia!)
Petrenko on the way up, had radioed to one of the engineers, who grabbed his special 'friend'. The engineer met them at the elevator.
Petrenko slid the body of the deceased commando out of the elevator and picked up the unconcious CEO. He slapped him a few times and slammed his head against the wall, waking him up. He looked into the CEO's eyes and grinned evilly, "Well, I believe you know our deal. I'm sorry it had to come to this..."
He withdrew the knife and quickly made his promise to castrate the CEO if anything happened come true. He then tossed him out of the elevator and shouted to a nearby soldier, "Watch him, if he tries anything, rip out his eyes..."
"Engineer Anatov, let's go..."
-------
They went down the elevator again. They pulled down the visors on their helmets and turned on the IR scanners, nothing would escape their gaze now...
The commandoes raised their rifles, ready to shoot at anything that had body heat as the doors opened. As they walked out quickly, the engineer set the flamethrower strapped to his back ready to fire..."
Just under the Roof
Domingo Chavez was positive he'd have to take them out somehow -- at it would need to be fast. He put the optic cable under the door and looked at the room again. Okay, fifteen feet by fifteen feet. The radius of a White Phosphourus grenade is fifteen feet. Everyone will bun. Good! Saves bullets. He opened the door a crack, pulled the pin to the WP grenade, wated three out of the five seconds, chucked the greneade in, closed the door, and jumped from the staircase.
OCC: White Phosphourus grenades have a 15' radius around and burn everytnig it comes in contact with to 2700 degrees celcius. BURN!!! :)
==================
Vault Level
When the emergency lights were shot out, there was total darkness, and even the night vision goggles didn't work. "Switch to infared," the lead guard said to the team. They all switced to the IR vision and waited.
(OOC: I'm pulling a fast one, sorry.)
"Okay, go quiet." The guards retreated back to the armoury. The thick, two and a half inch reincforced hydrolic-locked steel doors opened with a hiss! when the passcode was put in. It was far enough down the hallway so anyone at the elevator couldn't hear. The put the G36's and the Desert Eagles on the racks, took off their uniforms, and changed into their old Force Recon outfits -- totally black with pockets, boots, and holsters designed for virtually no noise at all. The fifteen guards (OOC: I think that is the right number) then made their way back to the weapons racks. Six of them picked up scilenced 5.56mm XM8's, seven of them picked up 10mm MP5SD6's, and one picked up a modified FN Minimi SAW fitted with a flash suppressor and a scilencer. Granted, being a 7.62 light machine gun, it did not do to well, but it worked. The soldiers all picked up scilenced Colt .45's, Three WP grenades, a flashbang, and every three people had a tear gas grenade with a gas mask to put on afterwards. They picked up a sufficient amount of ammunition, and all but the machine gunner left. He radioed the Bank Security Center.
Guard: This is vault level. Activate roof-mounted TRAPS in sector two.
OOC: I'm not going to make this easy. Well, actually, I am. All the TRAPS need is either a well-timed frag grenade or a couple 7.62 bullets to the wires and the connector to the roof. Also, some more stats on it:
They only rotate 180 degrees, so once you are behind it, you have all the time in the world. Good luck, though. These TRAPS are actually old 20mm miniguns from decommissioned Apache helocoptors. Every fifty rounds has a high-explosive bullet, and every ten rounds has a tracer. These counts are subject to change within a few without notice. ;)
Down in the vault level, the Hattians quickly made their way towards the vault. The Dersconi must have not counted on the Hattians also have IR goggles, they turned a corner and ran straight into the Dersconi looking for them. Two of the men beside Petrenko were cut down by the Dersconi.
Petrenko was quick on the draw and shot two of the men in the face and jumped back around the corner. He wiped blood off of his goggles and cursed, while Anatov sprayed fire on the enemy. As they were incinerated, their screams echoed through the hallways.
The Dersconi retreated back down the hallway, one of them firing a lucky shot that took down Anatov and prevented them from being burnt to death. Petrenko turned around the corner and sprayed bullets down the hallway, killing the rest of the guards.
Petrenko and the remaining commando walked down the hallway. One of the guards let out a groan. Petrenko grabbed his and flung him over his shoulder. A few minutes later, they made it to the vault door.
Petrenko cursed and kicked the door, he pulled out his radio and told someone to bring the CEO down to him. Several minutes later, a commando appeared with the CEO over his shoulder. Petrenko took the CEO and slammed his head into the scanner. "Open your eyes and I will kill you quickly."
The scanner beeped and the huge metal doors slid open with a metallic grating sound. Petrenko ran in and found what they were looking for. He took the tape and put it in his pack.
Petrenko nodded at the other commando, who grinned widely. He pulled the CEO's head up and quickly slit his throat.
The Commando then took the surviving guard, cut his tounge out and took him into the middle of the vault...
A minute later, Petrenko smiled, "Okay, let's get out of here."
-----------------
Right under the roof, several of the men sat at a table playing cards. "Got a two?" one said. The other smiled and replied, "Nope, go fish."
The man who had just spoken turned his head as the grenade slid across the floor right next to him. "Oh shi...!"
-----------------
As the traps opened fire, several men were quickly cut down. With the little time they had, the prisoners were killed quickly and the men made a dash for the stairs, most didn't make it....
OOC: Don't know what that last part about the traps means, but oh well.
=======================
Under the Roof -- Staircase
Chavez heard the explosion, and saw the door go up in flames, stop, and when some of the smoke cleared, there was no door. Uh-oh. If that door burned.... Oh wait, no. It was a steel door. It would have just.....melted shut. Chavez was in a predicament. He shrugged and pulled out six blocks of C4. He went up to the room that was incinerated and placed four blocks of C4 on the door -- one in each corner. He wired it up, went behind a large wall, and detonated the C4. A loud, deafening explosion was heard, and a large chunk of steel went through the wall he was hiding behind and landed right at his feet. He stood and stared at the steel, confused and shocked. A lot of good this wall did me.
He ran from the "cover" of the wall and went outside. Anyone standing near the door would have been killed by the huge fragments of steel and the explosion. He turned his head to see two choppers with TRAPS and three Hattian guards staring right at him. Chavez waved and shot them all with a scilenced pistol. Mmhmm he thought to himself. I just detonated four blocks of C4 and blew a three-inch steel door to bits. I absolutely HAVE to have this scilenced pistol, because stealth is required, after I blew THAT door open he thought sarcastically.
Domingo Chavez took his main weapon -- an OICW -- from his back and shouldered it. He switched it to the 20mm High Explosive rounds for "kicks" and aimed it at the chest of the one in the center of the group of three Hattian Guards. He pulled the trigger and watched through his optic cable. Domingo heard the BOOM and looked over. Body parts and blood were everywhere -- thankfully landing on the TRAP operator, tempotarily blinding him. He shot a 20mm HE round at the TRAP, blowing it and the operator up. By that time, the other Hattian Guardsmen realized there was someone there, and ten soldiers surrounded the area. Chavez took cover in what used to be the doorway. He looked down at the room and wondered. He smiled when he saw it. Propane. Perfect. He went down the stairs and grabbed the propane tank. He loosened the cap a little and spun around from the cover of the building. He chucked the propane at a Hattian Guard, who was knocked of his feet from the force of the tank and the surprise. A Hattian yelled in English "What the hell?" and Domingo shot him. He then spun around to the five soldiers around the soldier with the propane tank on him and shot the propane tank.
BOOM! He quickly took cover as a large piece of propane tank flew past him and sliced off an antenna on the building. He spun around on the other side and killed the remaining Hattian guards on the roof, only to be shot in the arm by a TRAP. He ducked back in the doorway and looked at his bleeding left arm. Forgot about that. He quickly bandaged it and got an idea. He went the other way, jumping from cover to cover so he was behind the helocoptor with the still operatable TRAP weapon. He placed his last two C4 blocks under the chopper and ran. He saw the TRAP start to spin toward him as he ducked behind an air conditioner vent. He detonated the C4 blocks, sending the helocoptor up in flames. Well, now that everyone in the city knows there is something going on at the bank... He ran across the roof, realizing that there was still an operatable chopper, but no soldiers to operate it. He stopped. He picked up his radio and called the chopper.
Stork, this is baby. The parents are ready to adopt. He shook his head at the most retarded code phrase in the history of the world and went back downstairs the room he came in from. He signaled Dieter. Dieter acknowledged, and Special Helo Delta 7 flew up from the roof. Chavez ran up to the roof. Dieter jumped off the helocoptor and shot open the glass roof looking down into the atrium of the building. Domingo looked down. "Oh, fun. Looks like it is a one-way trip to ground level." Loiselle, Price, and Santiago jumped out from the helocoptor and then Special Helo Delta 7 flew away. In its place, a helocoptor bearing the Dersconi Waffen Schutzstaffel insignia took its place. Five cables came out of the body of the chopper, going to the floor of the building. A "Go!" was heard as thirty SS officers jumped out and slid down the cable, shooting Hattian guards as they went down. Edward Price caught a glimpse of the one uniform. "They are SD." Chavez nodded as the last one. They went down the stairway to the CEO's office.
=============================
Ground Floor -- Grand Hall
The thirty SD soldiers landed in a gunfight. Two died before touching ground. A Hattian with an RPG came out of the shadows. The lead guard got on his radio. GET THAT CHOPPER OUT OF THERE! Another SS officer pulled up his M4 and shot the guard.
TANGO DOWN!
Unfortunately, the Hattian was faster. The Lead officer looked up in horror as he fired the RPG and then collapsed on the ground. RPG AWAY! REPEAT, RPG AWAY! The helocoptor started to move, but was stopped by an explosion in its underside. THe choper dropped through the opening and the rotors tore up the inside of the building. The SD soldiers ran for cover, and the Hattians did the same. Two Hattians, in the comotion, ran towards the SD officers, thinking they were their own. The lead SD officer thought the Hattians were SD, and threw them to the ground and covered them. When the explosion occured, and passed, everyone got up and brushed themselves off. The Hattians looked around to find themselves surrounded by SD soldiers, and the lead officer of the SD had a confused look on his face. He shrugged and knocked them out, tied them up, and put them in a corner. The gunfight then resumed.
=================================
CEO's Office
The Black Angels walked through the door to find the room a wreck. "Well, looks like they were here before us. Oh well." They searched a little, and then left for their chopper on the roof. Price turned to Chavez. "So, Domingo, are the SD soldiers going to handle the cleanup and check the vault?"
"Yes, they will." They left the office, closed the door, and did not hear the *ding!* of the elevator in the CEO's office.
The Black Angels walked up to the roof, radioed SH Delta7, and five minutes later, they were en route to Kremlin Palace.
Petrenko and the remaining commando stepped out into the office. Petrenko shuddered as he heard a two large explosions. He pulled out his radio.
"Beta two, this is Alpha One, report!"
After hearing no response, he repeated himself.
"Damn, I believe our route out of here has been blocked. he said to the other man. He pulled out his silenced pistol and swung open the door. He fired off a shot through the window on the other side of the hall.
The other commando, (Alpha Two was his callsign) said something about it being a good idea to bring rappelling equipment. They sprinted across the hall to the broken window. Alpha two nodded to his commander.
"I'll cover you, but hurry up..."
Petrenko returned the nod and tied his rope around the nearest pillar, after testing it's strength, he attached it to the harness on his BDU and began to make his way quickly down the building. He had done this hundreds, if not thousands of times, and this was just another building to him.
Alpha Two had pulled over a thick wooden table and flipped it, as to provide his with some cover...
Ground Level
Once the gunfire stopped, the SD officers walked over to the dead Hattian commandos. The lead officer nodded his head and walked outside. He looked up into the moonlight and saw something on the building. What the hell? He had two SD officers come and study it while he went down to the vault level.
The lead officer walked to the main elevator and punched in the security code he was given. The got in and went down to the vault level. Turning on the IR goggles, he looked around at all the dead bodies. Holy hell. He stepped over the guards in the Dersconi Marine uniforms and went over to Vault 13. He stood in horror to find out it was open. He and the two SD soldiers that were with him ran into the vault to find a single deposit box open. "This must have been what they were looking for," the commanding officer said, after noticing it was empty. He looked further down to find someone sitting on a swivel chair. He raised an eyebrow at it and walked over to the chair. He spun it around and stared at it in horror. On the chair was a dead body and C4 strapped all over it. A timer was in the middle.

The SD soldier knew it was too late to run. He just kneeled down and prayed.

==============================
The two SD guards at the elevator were bored and decided to go to the vault where their commander was at. Stepping over the bodies, they came to the vault where they saw their commander kneeling. They turned to run when the bomb went off. A massive fireball incinerated the SD officers inside the vault. It also obliterated most everything inside the first section of Vault 13. The second, third, and fourth section were untouched because of the secure walls and doors to go into it. The SD soldiers running got to the elevator, pressed the button, and the doors closed as they saw the massive firestorm approaching them.
As the explosion rocked the building, Petrenko nearly lost his footing and cursed. "Well, I forgot about that, better not go out that way..."
He quickly pulled himself back up to the window, he tapped Alpha-two on the shoulder and they both ran as fast as possible back up to the roof.
As the arrived at the roof, Petrenko peeked out from the door, "All clear and we still have a chopper to get out of here with, what luck!" he thought to himself.
They ran quickly to the chopper and climbed into the cockpit. Petrenko turned on the engine, it struggled for a second and cranked. It lifted slowly off the roof and shot forward.
Once out of the city, Petrenko dropped the chopper down very low to the ground and sped towards home...
Dersconi Air Traffic Control
The Major of the Air Force in charge of the night shift looked at the radar. The blip was flying too close to the ground and too near a city. He sent a message to the unidentified object right after putting an APB for it. At that moment, three Waffen SS Apache gunships were en route to the helo.
Unidentified aircraft, identify yourself.
Petrenko scowled and activated the radio.
This is Marine Helicopter Alpha Two-Seven.
Some of those bastards made it out of the bank and are making
a run for the coast, we are in pursuit.
He looked over at Alpha two, "Comrade, get out a message to the Lancer, I don't think she is too far off, tell them we will probably need some support.
Alpha two turned on his radio, after waiting for the encryption to kick in, he began.
Papa Bear, this is Alpha Four-Niner, we are in urgent need of support, request standby at edge of Dersconi national waters, over.
Papa Bear: This is Papa Bear to Alpha Four-Niner, request recieved, we are on our way...

HNS Lancer: Freedom Class Aircraft Carrier
The Lancer began to hum with life as the transmission from the commandoes came through. Men were running over the flight decks and through the ship, making ready to leave.
At full steam, she and her carrier group made for Derscon, several long range fighters were launched to make it to their destination quickly to provide support for the fleeing helicopter...
National Reconassainse Office, Saarbrueken, Derscon
"What the...?" the officer on duty said. "Sir! We have Hattian naval vessals approaching Dersconi Waters!" The Major looked at the satellite images in shock.
"Okay." He got on the phone with the Kremlin.
MAJOR: This is Major Andropov from NRO. We have a Hattian Carrier assault force coming towards us.
NAVCINC: Okay, I'll be right on it.

Admiral Herkjyavich set down the phone, put in his key card, and dialed a number. It hooked him up with the STRATNAVCOM.
Activate ATLANTIS.
Within one hour, the beaches were evacuated, the Coast guard patrolling the beaches, and the ATLANTIS Naval Defense Systems were fully operational.
OOC: You're fucked. :)
OOC: What is the range on 'Atlantis'?
I'm not going to go inside Dersconi waters, just sit outside, they are international waters and we won't look well on attacking our vessels in international waters.
IC
As the group approached Derscon, the carrier grounded her planes and stopped a good distance away from Dersconi national waters.
On the deck of the carrier, plain for all to see, a large group of Marines and sailors engaged in a game of football.
Meanwhile on the Bridge, the Commodore in charge of the Carrier Group sent out a message to the Dersconi...
Greetings comrades in Derscon, we are here on routine training
exercises and would like to inquire about the possibility of
Derconi naval assets participating in these exercises with us.
Thank you.
OOC: Technically, I could incinerate your fleet from where you are now, but Atlantis is a defensive setup, not an offensive grid.....oh, did I just say grid? ;)

Kremlin Palace
Supreme Admiral Marko Herkjyavich looked at the inquiry. This is a bit too random. He took the inquiry to Otto von Bismarck, the CinCMIL and Chancellor of the Reichskongress. Herkjyavich, being a CinC of a branch of military, could walk right in. Bismarck looked up and nodded.
"What can I do for you?" Marko just laid the inquiry on his desk. Otto narrowed his eyes and pulled out a manilla envelope. "Check this out," he said while handing it to the Admiral. The envelope contained the information on the attack on the bank and the current persuit of a helocoptor.
"This is bullshit!" Marko exclaimed. "The chopper is heading right for the naval fleet!"
"My thoughts exactly," Otto said. "We do not want to tip them off, though. Say yes. We have all civilian aircraft out of the air."
=================================================
Dersconi Air Traffic Control
This guy has a foreign accent, the Major said, while listening in to the conversation. He sent the information up to the CinCMIL's office, since Aerostalvich was out on vacation.
======================================
Bismarck's office
"I believe we do," Herkjyavich answered Bismarck. The fax rang a bit, and they both turned their head. The paper slipped out, and Bismarck read it aloud.
Unidentified chopper claims to be Marine Helicopter Alpha Two-Seven.
Has foreign accent.
SS choppers still accompanying him.
Bismarck and Herkjyavich looked at each other for a minute. Bismarck then smiled slyly. "I never mobilized the Marines." Herkjyavich nodded. "It is our guy. Let's play along, though."
"Your thoughts?" Bismarck asked.
"Send five more SS choppers and tell them they'll take over from here and to land at the Marine Base off of the coast of Nuernburg." Bismarck smiled.
"Wonderful."
===============================
Waffen SS Choppers Persuing the Hattian Chopper
The Waffen SS pilots got their orders to follow, and five more Waffen SS choppers flanked them. A message was sent to the 'Marine' helocoptor.
Okay. We can take it from here. Tell us where he headed.
Orders from the Kremlin are to let the SS take over.
You are to land at the Marine Base in Nuernburg.
Repeat, these are orders from the Kremlin.
===================================
Message to Hattian Fleet
We have gotten your request. We shall gladly participate in naval excersises with you. Obviously, we have the time and place down. How large of a naval body would you like me to mobilize?
Marko Herkjyavich
Commander in Chief of the Imperial Navy
The Protestant Prussian Czardom of Derscon
"Perhaps I should've thought of this before, we aren't going to be able to get over the coast once they've seen our fleet..." Petrenko thought to himself, "Perhaps..."
Petrenko shifted the helicopter's course away from the fleet and pulled out his rifle. "Alpha-Two, have you got the raft?" Alpha-Two noddedd. "Well, here goes..."
Petrenko cocked his rifle and fired a few shots into the engine, which began to spew white smoke. "Radio them, tell them we are having engine trouble and are going down."
Petrenko dropped the helicopter lower, all the while jerking about. In the distance, he could see the blue water of a small lake. "There we go. Get ready to bail..."
As they flew over the lake, Petrenko tightened his grip and dropped the helicopter nose first into the water, he was nearly thrown out of his seat by the impact. As the water began to rise inside the helicopter as it sank to the bottom, the two Hattians turned on their small oxygen tanks. Those tanks would only give them a few minutes worth of air, but hopefully it would be enough.
Petrenko kicked open the door, pushed himself outward and swam for the shore...
"Bloody hell, the entire country is going to be after us soon..." he thought to himself.
Dersconi Beach
"Holy crap!" the one SS officer shouted when the helocoptor went down. The seven Waffen SS Apaches circled the lake with searchlights attached to two of them. A Blackhawk was called in for a SAR mission, and the Apaches closed in on the lake.
Nothing, sir.
Okay, pull out.
Five minutes later, the area was vacated.
Several minutes after the helicopters left, Petrenko and his comrade surfaced near the edge of the lake.
They scanned the sky, and deemed it to be safe. They walked up out of the lake and into the woods, after going for a decent distance, they sat down.
"Colonel, perhaps we should radio the fleet, if they leave without us we are as good as dead." whispered Alpha-Two.
Petrenko sighed, "If we use the radio, they might pick it up, but I suppose we have to risk it..."
He pulled out his radio, turned it on and waited for the encryption to kick in...
This is Alpha-One to Home Plate, Alpha-One to Home Plate
We are down and on the run, request pickup at coordinates
76, 52, 93. Over.
--------
Home Plate to Alpha-One, Negative, you must make it to the embassy
in the Derconi capitol, or procure an aircraft or boat. We cannot risk
them detecting you. Good luck soldier, over and out.
Petrenko put the radio back in his pack and sighed.
"We can't make it to the embassy, it is too far and we wouldn't last long there, we have to swipe some transportation and make it to the coast..." he whispered to himself.
Alpha-Two looked at him, a perplexed expression could be seen through the face mask. "What do we do, Colonel?"
"We run..."
They both stood up, and ran off into the dusk...
Kremlin Palace, RAMC
"What did they take?" the Czar asked.
"I don't know, but it was important that we did not see it."
"Okay, them. The Hattian contact also sent a package to another bank. Find it and give it to me."
"Yessir."
=================
OOC: Your men there are free to go. Just get them off my shores before I change my mind! ;)
They had been running all night, in the early hours of dawn, they stumbled upon a small fishing village on the coast. Looking through his binoculars, Petrenko sighted a vessel making ready to leave.
They ran along the outskirts of town, avoiding all contact and climbed onto the dock. They ran silently to the boat. Petrenko snuck up behind the captain and stuck his pistol into the man's back.
"Okay, everyone off the boat, or this guy, you all, and your families will die a slow death..." shouted Petrenko.
The crew obeyed and filed off with their hands over their heads. Petrenko went up to the wheel and gunned the engine.
Soon, they were far out to sea and on their way home.
Alpha-One to Home Plate, we have commandeered a vessel, requesting pickup...
About an hour later, a submarine surfaced near the small ship. Petrenko and his comrade climbed onboard.

Prime Minister Zyteslav sat with the tape in his hands. A huge weight had been lifted off his chest. He stuck it in the safe under his desk and leaned back in his chair.

"Sir, they got away with whatever the hell it was." The Czar shook his head.
"You disappoint me, Payens. Go look at the Bank of Pi. The Hattians sent something there, too."

"Hello there, mam," a uniformed Knight said.
"What can I do for you, sir?"
"I need the package sent here from Hattia." He gave her the order from the Crown. She stared at it in shock.
"Yessir." Ten minutes later, an envelope was handed to the Knight.
"Thank you mam," he said as he bowed. "Have a nice day."
==================
Hour Later, Kremlin Palace
"Oh my God," the Czar said, examining the photos.
"The election was stolen." He looked up at Payens.
"Find the deposed Hattian at all costs. We need to get him out of there to here immediately."
"Yessir!"
The Island of Vanstock
Andropov stalked silently through the thick woods of the island. He had heard one of his traps triggered and was going to investigate. He peeked from around the tree,
"Success!", he thought.
He smiled and walked to the edge of the pit that he had dug. A small rabbit was trying desperately to escape, but could not get a foothold on the side of the pit. Andropov leaned over and grabbed it by the neck, quickly avoiding the rabbit's teeth. In one quick movement and with a sickening crunch, he broke it's neck, killing it instantly.
He smiled again and began the trek back to camp. When he arrived, a few minutes later, he sat down and began skinning it with a makeshift knife, basically a sharpened rock. He had been hear for nearly three days now, luckily for him, however, he still remembered his survival training from the Sniper school near Leningrad.
Once the skinned rabbit was safely cooking on the spit, Andropov lapsed into deep thought, as he did on occasion. When this happened, he lost all contact with the world until he snapped out of it. After approximately fifteen minutes, he was jolted back into conciousness by the smell of burning rabbit. He quickly removed the spit and extinguished the fire on his food.
"Well, I won't be getting any diseases from this, I guess..." he mumbled to himself. As he was eating, he could hear a helicopter approaching in the distance. He put the meat back on the spit and picked up his pistol. He had guessed they'd come back to make sure he was dead, and this was his chance to get off the island.
Twenty minutes later...
The ambush was set, Andropov had put a lot of wood on the fire and now layed in the woods outside his camp. He could hear the men approaching. They broke through the opposite edge of the forest, two of them. One held an AK-74 and the other a bolt action rifle with a scope that Andropov couldn't identify.
"Bloody hell, where is he?" the one with the AK remarked.
I don't know, he probably heard us coming and ran off, this camp hasn't been deserted long." replied his comrade.
As they were talking, Andropov was taking aim with his one shot. He zeroed in on the man with the AK and squeezed the trigger. The man dropped to his knees, with a entry wound in his forehead. He collapsed onto the ground in a patch of now red snow. The other man looked around quickly. Andropov dashed out of the forest, grabbing up a sharpened stick that he had made for this purpose. The man saw him coming and fired off a shot, narrowly missing him. As he desperately tried to work the bolt, Andropov fell upon him, jamming the stick into his throat.
The man's face was locked in a shocked expression as he grasped vainly at the stick and fell to the ground with a faint gurgle. Andropov picked up the rifle and dashed towards the helicopter. As Andropov approached, the pilot saw him and turned the engine up to full power. As it lifted off the ground, Andropov fell to a knee and took aim.
Pow!
The glass of the cockpit shattered as a 30.06 round forcefully embedded itself in the pilot's chest. He fell forward onto the control stick, sending the chopper into a dive. When it hit the ground, the rotors shredded themselves against the earth before the helicopter flipped over and exploded in a massive fireball. Andropov chuckled, and slung the rifle over his shoulder as he made his way back to the camp.
Once back, he searched the bodies of his fallen enemies, he found some extra ammo, food and water. He also found a working radio. It wouldn't be long before they dispatched a bigger force to the island to get rid of him, he had to escape, quickly.
He took the radio into his lean-to and tuned it to a frequency that he hoped the Dersconi would hear.
This is Alexei Andropov, I am on the island of Vanstock, about two-hundred miles south of Haton. I have managed to fight off the first group sent to make sure I was dead, but it will not be long until they send more than I can handle. I could really use some help.

The Major General looked at the intercepted communications translation.

It was immediately sent to the Kremlin -- priority code PROPHECY, which meant it skipped the Kremlin communications office and went straight to the Czar.

The Czar was looking over an economic report when the computer monitor lit up and words were being typed on it.
NRO PROPHECY
THe Czar dropped his tea and stared.
This is Alexei Andropov, I am on the island of Vanstock, about two-hundred miles south of Haton. I have managed to fight off the first group sent to make sure I was dead, but it will not be long until they send more than I can handle. I could really use some help.
THe Czar did not fail to move quickly. He hit speed dial four.
Payens, get in here.
One minute later....
"Yessir?" Sir Hugue de Payens, commander of the Knights Templar, asked.
"Island of Vanstock, about two-hundred miles south of Haton. Go there, Alexei Andropov is imprisoned there. You have no time -- I want this done YESTERDAY!"
"Yessir!"

Amid the Darkened Skies
The converted Stealth Bombers were flying high towards their target.
Drop in Five
The bomb bays opened up, and five Knights dropped out of each bay. The last bomber dropped a raft, while two others dropped ten Præsillei Dei soldiers. Upon landing in the ocean, the raft was inflated and motored to the island.
Alexei, come to the (OOC: Insert coastline furthest from Hattian mainland here) coast. We're waiting.
Andropov sat in his shelter, contemplating what to do when they came back.
"There are plenty of bottlenecks where I could hold them off, at least for a time. I'd say it's rather hopeless if no one comes and gets me off this desolate rock. he thought to himself.
He looked out at the heavy snowfall and poked his small fire a bit. The wind howled around the shelter and he was having a hell of a time keeping his fire lit, and if it went out, he would die. As his hope was fading, the radio crackled to life beside of him.
After listening to the message, he smiled and said aloud, "Bloody hell, they heard me! Perhaps it is a trap, though..."
He picked up the stolen rifle and began running through the forest to the southern coastline. As he ran, the snow became even heavier and began to blind his sight. He could soon hear the roar of the waves on the coast. He sat down at the edge of the forest and began to scan the coastline with the rifle scope.
Soon, he managed to barely make out the shapes of a group of soldiers and a raft. After studying them for a few minutes, he thought,
"Well, they don't look like Hattians...
He flung the rifle over his shoulder and walked towards them with his hands in the air, so he wouldn't get shot by mistake.
"Hey, over here, it's Alexei!" he shouted.
A Præsillei Dei soldier saw Alexei emerge from the woods. When he shouted, the ten elites ran up to him and whisked him to the raft.
Hooked. Boat needed.
After about a ten minute motoring out to sea, the waters shook. Just then, a Rekjyavich class boomber emerged from the water. They loaded into the submarine, and five minutes later, is was below the thermal layer, heading on the CAT propulsion system until it reached the nearest ATLANTIS Base.

THe monitor lit up again, with the same priority heading. THe printer sent out the pictures with Alexei loading into the submarine and it suberging.
"OKay, good," the Czar said. He then looked up at Payens and Herkjyavich.
"Get him here in one piece and as soon as possible. And at all costs."
Executive Building: Haton
"So, did they get him?" asked the Prime Minister.
No, our men found the corpses of the two others we send and the wreckage of the helicopter. No other trace of him. We did pick up a radio communication, someone picked him up, I believe. Our analysts are still tracing back the communication, but so far we know it was from somewhere in Greater Prussia, most likely Derscon. We also managed to pick up the heat signature of a submarine for a few seconds, but it submerged before we could catch it."
The Prime Minister scowled, "Block of the exit to the bay, I don't want anything going in, or anything going out. You come up with a reason!"
The Army officer saluted and walked out of the room.
-----------------
Bay of Haton: Entrance to the Haven Strait
The Republican 8th Fleet, stationed at the mouth of the bay, closed off the whole two-hundred miles to everything. Commerce was diverted the the Northern bay. Anti-Submarine nets and various other devices were quickly erected along the length of the mouth. Constant air patrols ensured nothing would be able to fly out.
-----------------
Dersconi Submarine
Alexei climbed down into the submarine, his frostbitten skin burning in the warm air.
He turned to the nearest soldier and said, "Thanks for the help, comrade. Would you happen to have any spare clothes I could borrow" he then nodded down at his soaked and torn suit.

The Captain chuckled at Alexei. "No problem. The lieutenant here will show you to your new room. We figured you'd be in a bad shape, so there is a Dersconi Praesillei Dei uniform supplied by the Czar. You are now a temporary member of the Czar's elite guard, congratulations," the captain said as he smiled.
"Sir! Major enemy mobilizations detected!" The captain looked at Alexei.
"Sorry, sir, but I have to run. Your friend doesn't want us leaving." The Captain ran to the sonar room, thankfully without getting a static shock from the carpets. (OOC: Noise reduction.)
"What is the situation?"
"Well sir, looks like a Hattian Fleet has blocked off the bay entrance -- or in our case, exit. Submarine nets, a few mines here and there, and some submarine patrols."
"Okay. Flood the torpedo tubes, but don't open any of the doors."
"Aye, flood torpedos, no door." Thirty seconds later, the eight torpedo tubes and twelve missile tubes turned yellow.
"Okay," the captain said. The holographic display showed the surrounding territory. Using top of the line thermal imaging, radar, and sonar combinations to give a very accurate representation of the surrounding area on the holographic 3D display in the center of the small subarmine CIC.
"Here, go through here," the captain said.
"Sir! That is a minefield!"
"Correct, they are not expecting us to go through there."
"We'll blow up!"
"Not if we deactivate them. Or...." He turned to the weapons officer.
"Did we not develop an offensive version of the CAT propulsion system?"
"Aye, sir, we did. It uses air to push small objects such as mines and nets out of the way. It doesn't detonate them because the air acts as a current."
"Use it. Push the mines into the net. Also, tell the ATLANTIS base we need some help."
"Aye, sir." The captain got on the comm system.
Bridge, this is the captain. move slowly, repeat, SLOWLY, into the minefield. Go straight, don't swerve.

Atlantis Base outside Hattian Exclusive Economic Zone
"Herr Admiral, we have a problem," the SS officer present said.
"Yes?"
"Well, sir, look." The holographic display of the Hattian Bay was shown.
"Eck."
"We also got a arequest to station submarines on the other side of the net to accompany Poseidon, but not to get too close." The Admiral smiled.
"I know exactly what he's doing. And he's the only person bold enough to do it. Send First Sub Division out to wait. Also, flood the SLBM tubes. We might need to obliterate their fleet."
"That would mean war."
"The Czar said at all costs, did he not?" the SS officer just nodded.
"Aye, sir."
One hour later, the array of boomers, fast attacks, and intercepters, all on the CAT, were ready to escort Poseidon upon its breaching of the nets.
===========================
HMSS Poseidon
The Admiral smiled. "Excellent." He nodded to the weapons officer.
"Do it!"
"Aye, sir!" The JPPTMB was powered up, and the boomber moved toward the minefield. As the mines were slowly moving toward the net, the captain hastily ordered the halt.
"Let them drift apart. They're getting too close." About thirty minutes later, he nodded.
"Proceed." As the mines got closer to the net, the captain radioed the bridge.
Ready for full speed ahead. THirty seconds later...
BOOM!
Upon the giant hole being blown into the net, the boomber went out of the CAT and almost hit fifty knots racing out of the bay.
We have rondexvoued! Go CAT and submerge!
Five minutes later, they were silent as a rock in a grassy plain, mosying to the ATLANTIS base.
HNS Pride of Severnaya
"Comrade Admiral, sensors report a mine detonation in holding sector G9-4!" said a Midshipman who had just run into the bridge.
Admiral Kovalenko nodded, "That's where they are, divert everything we can spare to the area, I want all of our ASW planes up within ten minutes. We have orders from the Prime Minister not to let them escape.
The Midshipman nodded, "But you have heard the rumors, Admiral. People's Admiral Aleksandrov doesn't trust the Prime Minister, perhaps you should ask him what to do..."
The Admiral sighed and picked up his radio, after a short conversation he turned it off and looked over at the Midshipman.
"Belay that order, I believe the People's Admiral knows who is on that Submarine. Stay on alert for anything else, though."

Alexei nodded, "Well, it is a position that I never thought I would have, I will endeavour not to dissapoint..." he said as the Captain ran off. He was led to his room by the Lieutenant.
He went inside and collapsed on the bed, his last thoughts before drifting off to sleep were, "Bloody hell, I'm getting soft..."

"Commander, there has been a mine detonation over Admiral Kovalenko's position, but for some reason, he isn't responding to it. I've radioed him and he said it was as per orders of People's Admiral Aleksandrov. said a stocky man sitting at a terminal.
The Commander of the station frowned at this report, "Something big is going on, from what I hear. Keep your ears open, I shall inform the Prime Minister."
-----------------
Executive Building: Haton
The Prime Minister read over the latest reports with growing rage. "I'll see your head on a pike, Aleksandrov. Disobeying orders that could endanger the whole nation, that is as good as treason." he thought to himself.
"Someone tell Aleksandrov to report here at once!" bellowed Zyteslav...
One hour later...
People's Admiral Aleksandrov was a monster of a man, coming in at nearly seven feet tall. He was ill suited the the confines of a large ship, so had instead advanced through the ranks as a PT boat commander and later a Spec-Ops Naval Insertion boat captain.
Now, he wore the dark blue of an Admiral and a wide hat, that brought back images of the Napoleonic wars. On his belt hung a long, curved cutlass, marked with many years of use.
He strode into the Prime Minister's office with an air of calm that tended to infuriate the hot tempered.
"Aleksandrov, you've disobeyed direct orders, I'll have you knocked down to Midshipman so fast..."
The Admiral quickly interjected, "Mr. Zyteslav, I do not believe you have the power to demote me, so please do not make false threats. I did what I believe was the best option for the situation at hand.
By this time, Zyteslav was in a full rage, "But you let an enemy submarine get away! Who knows what was onboard that thing or their mission!"
Aleksandrov calmly interrupted again, "Comrade, I believe they were carrying one Alexei Andropov. One of my ships picked up a transmission from Vanstock and I had men on the way to pick him up myself. Is this what you do to all your political opponents, perhaps you have something to hide?
I do not believe you won the election fairly, and I think he has evidence supporting me. I will find that evidence, and it will be your head hanging in Red Square. Now, I have business to attend to, I bid you farewell."
As Aleksandrov turned to leave, Zyteslav pulled a pistol from his belt. Before he could raise it, Aleksandrov whirled about and had his rather largish pistol pointed straight at Zyteslav's head.
"Now, Fyodor, put the gun away, you wouldn't want to do that."
Zyteslav put the gun away slowly, and Aleksandrov left the room to return to his ship.
Rekjyavich Andropov Military City
Three days later
The Cadillac Escalade zoomed down the empty roads in the woods, disturbing some wildlife. The Præsillei Dei officer at shotgun looked at the driver.
"Goddamnit, son, slow down! You'll hit a deer!"
"Yessir," he said, slowing from one hundred and five to fortyfive. You couldn't see it, but in the thick forests surrounding Rekjyavich Andropov Military City was a security grid far beyond anything no one has ever not known didn't exist -- as, officially, it didn't. They came to the final gate in the woods. The Præsillei Dei in the guard booth popped his head out.
"How ya'll doin'?" he said in a thick southern accent.
"Damn fine, if I may say myself," the driver responded. He handed him his pass and the Crown Directorate. THe booth guard raised an eyebrow and handed them both back.
"Enjoy your stay at the Palace. Great food, so I hear." The massive reinforced concrete gates opened and allowed the Escalade through before clsing behind them.
When they exited the forest, it was a short, one minute drive to the gates of the city. The huge towers of the Kremlin Cathedral, Kremlin Palace, and what was known only as "Andropov Tower" soared over the rest of the city. It was truly impressive, considering the five story walls blocking the whole rest of the city from view.
When the cadillac approached the gate system, all were already opened. It was clear the Czar was expecting them.
One and a half minutes later, they were out on the other side of the walls. It was quite clear why it was a miltary city. Right next to the Walmart Supercenter was a tank factory, with Scorpion quadratreaded Main Battle Tanks lined row after row on the pavement. The real thing that separated RAMC with other cities, though, was not only the architecture, but the astounding (and a blessing, mind you) lack of traffic. Most vehicles travelled underground, thankfully, because before the tunnels were created, you frequently were caught behind an outdated Abrams tank.
Fifteen minutes past before the SUV pulled up to the Kremlin Gates. The gates were made of pure gold, which would explain the fact that there is a roof over them. In fact, the largest bell tower in the Kremlin walls is where the main gate is.
Upon its opening, the vehicle drove to the parking building. It was all underground for visual purposes, as it "looks like shit," to put it in the words of the Czar.
In the Imperial Guest level, they parked, and the two Præsillei Dei in front got out and opened the doors. The Præsillei Dei on the left of Alexei got out first, then Alexei, then the other Præsillei Dei.
"Welcome to the Kremlin garage, sir," the lead officer said, smiling. "Right this way, please." He led the party down a hallway that ended at an elevator with the Rekjyavich-Andropov coat of arms on the doors, and two Præsillei Dei guards saluting them upon approach.
"Good evening, sir. The Czar has been expecting you." The elevator doors opened and the party walked in.
On the surface, the group walked out of the elevator into a barren, windowless concrete room, with a single steel door. Alexei turned to the lead officer.
"Where are we?" THe lead Præsillei Dei officer opened the door and herded everyone outside. In front of them were the marble steps leading up to the Kremlin.
"At the Palace, sir." He led everyone up the steps and to the doors of the palace. Strange enscryptions were on the door, along with the Rekjyavich coat of arms on the left, the Andropov on the right, and the Rekjyavich-Andropov in the middle. The doors were solid gold for an inch, in which you ran into the reinforced concrete, and then gold again.
The massive doors opened when they stepped onto the level even with the doors. The party walked into the Grand Hall, which was a complete sphere. Where they were standing was a platform leading to the center. It was quite amazing, almost too amazing for words. (OOC: read as: too lazy to describe it. :))
Count Franz von Papen, the Foreign Minister, greeted them in the center, and dismissed the guards.
"Good evening, Prime Minister," Papen said, clearly stating his feelings on the situation. "The Czar is expecting you in the Star Office. I must apologize, but you need to follow me. The Palace can be confusing at times." He led him up the floating elevator platform and rose to the top level, where there was a single gold door in the wall at the peak of the sphere. When it opened, a control panel was shown. Papen typed in the code, and the ceiling moved away, exposing a hole in the roof of the sphere. THe floating platform rose up through it. When the hole closed, the platform dissapated and they dropped a few inches to the floor of the lightless room. Suddenly, the lights went on, and the Czar was standing there, looking at them. He walked down the steps and greeted Alexei.
"You've had a rough week, my friend. Do, sit," the Czar said, motioning to a cusiony chair. When Alexei sat in it, it formed to fit his body perfectly. THe Czar then sat in another chair in the circle, and Papen left through somewhere. There were not any doors to be found.
"So, what the hell is going on?"
"Well, here goes..."
Alexei relayed the events that had led up to his capture, his imprisonment on Vanstock and his arrival here. Not sparing any details, he finished up approximately fifteen minutes later.
"Now, I thank you for your hospitality, but I must return as soon as possible. I trust the evidence that I sent here is still safe?"
The Czar shook his head. "THe pictures you sent to the Bank Pi of Derscon are safe," he said, holding them up. "Which is why I got you out in the first place. Unfortunately, we have confirmed that Hattian commandos have raided Berlin Bank and took whatever was there. I assume that was the more important part, as they skipped the Bank of Pi.
"Also, I have to seriously recommend you NOT returning to Hattia. Upon your arrival, I can guarentee he's gonna kill you off, and there is nothing I can do about it. You are safe as long as you are here in Rekjyavich Andropov Military City -- specifically the Kremlin. I wish I could guarentee more, but as you saw with the Berlin Bank, that is clearly not the case."
Alexei nodded, "I suppose, and if I returned with these pictures, it'd be full scale civil war!
Unfortunately, I believe he has much bigger plans than to rule Hattia, I think he either plans to invade somewhere, or make himself king...
------------------
The former was quite possible, but the latter was very true. Zyteslav knew that the only way the people could be controlled was if they were unarmed. Disarming a nation of three billion would be quite a task, but he felt that the HIIA was up to it.
By using his puppets in the People's Congress, he enacted Hattia's first gun control law in nearly seventy years. The law demanded that all military firearms, armored vehicles, et cetera be turned over to the government within fourty-eight hours under pain of imprisonment.
------------------
Haton: Red Square
A crowd of at least seven hundred thousand had gathered in the Square to protest the new laws. After about an hour, a mass of Police and HIIA armored vehicles arrived in the square. Soldiers in riot gear disembarked and made their way towards the crowd. Once there, they forcibly attempted to disarm the people on the front row.
A gunshot echoed throughout the square and all grew quiet. An old man near the center resisted, and fell to the ground with a gaping hole in his head. All was still, and then there was chaos.
The roar of gunfire exploded, thousands of bullets flew between the protesters and the police. An RPG flew from the crowd, destroying a Police APC.
The battle lasted for nigh on ten minutes, when what remained of the two sides retreated. Similar events took place in Severnaya and Leningrad, the two other major cities in the nation, while many skirmishes erupted in the rural areas.
------------------
HNS Pride of Haton: Bay of Haton
People's Admiral Aleksandrov watched the ensuing carnage from a TV screen on his flagship.
"Zyteslav, you bloody idiot."
He sighed and turned to the Communications Officer. "Mobilize the fleet, ready the aircraft. I will not let this country fall again into a tyranny!
------------------
A flight of HNFB-3 'Viper' Fighter-Bombers lifted from carrier, Vindictive and sped off towards the capital. The aircraft had a special target in mind....

HNN Special Report
"Hello, I am Vladimir Morozov for the HNN, with a special report..." said a middle aged man holding a microphone. "The Prime Minister is preparing to make a speech on the carnage that happened in Red Square today."
The camera turned and focused on a platform. In the backdrop, the Executive Building could be seen. The Prime Minister approached the building and began to speak, but his voice was drowned out by the roar of aircraft engines.
The Fighter-Bombers streaked over the Executive Building, and a second later, the seven-hundred year old structure erupted in a massive fireball. The camera then focused back on the reporter.
"Bloody hell, did you see the insignia on those planes, they were Navy planes!"
Star Office, Kremlin Palace
The Czar nodded. "You know, monarchy is not all that bad. When your people are used to democracy, though, I can fully underst--" Suddenly, Papen burst into the room.
"Sir! Haton's Red Square was just attacked by Hattian Navy!"
"What?!?" The Czar exclaimed. "Who is the admiral for that?"
"Admiral Aleksandrov," Papen said, realizing Alexei may be insulted at the fact he just shouted out something he wasn't supposed to know, but it was part of the game called politics and intelligence.
"Get me a comm link with him," the Czar said. "Also, see if you can get Zyteslav online, if he's alive."
"Yessir!" With that he was off. The Czar turned to Alexei.
"Remember that thing about Civil war? Too late."
OOC: Meh, Aleksandrov is rather famous, and the fleets that he commands are no secret to anyone.
Haton
Throughout the gigantic city, armed civilians clashed in pitched battles with city Security and HIIA forces. From miles away, the great plumes of smoke could be seen from the burning city. Many helicopters from various news organizations circled the city, despite the great probability that they would come under attack, as some already had.
------------------
Embassy Lane
Now that there were virtually no police in some parts of the city, a massed mob of several thousand marched down the road, passing many international embassies. Zyteslav had run on a very anti-foreigner platform, especially towards Andropov's friendly relation with the Dersconi, and most of his supporters had the same feelings.
They approached and surrounded the Dersconi embassy. As nighttime approached, they lit torches and screamed things like, "Out of our country, foreign pigs!'.
Someone shouted over a loudspeaker and the crowd charged, slamming into the gates and attempting to scale the walls with makeshift ladders while some stood back and hurled things such as molotov cocktails over the walls.
------------------
Executive Building Ruins
Zyteslav picked himself off the ground. The force of the blast had hurled him from the platform and he had landed nearly ten feet away. He shook his head and looked to his side as two screaming men charged at him. He quickly withdrew his pistol and gave them each a bullet in the face.
The Captain of the Guards approached Zyteslav, "We have to get you out of the city, we should make for the airport."
Zyteslav nodded, and climbed into a police APC with the rest of his guards, they then sped off towards the airport.
------------------
HNS Pride of Haton
Aleksandrov watched the proceedings with great sadness, his city was burning and he was to partly to blame for it. He sighed and turned to the Commander of his Marines...
"Have your men load up, we are going onshore..."
------------------
Alexei sighed, "Admiral Aleksandrov is a good friend of mine. He may be a bit rash, but he is no fool and would not do anything that he didn't consider in the best interests of the country.
Now, I must return, it will not be long before the army comes in and crushes the resistance, and then Zyteslav's power will be absolute. The military will not fight for him if they find out the truth, most of it, that is."
Dersconi Embassy
The SS officers did not hesitate in their response. THe embassy was erected as a replica of Castle Neuschwanstein, as all Dersconi Embassies were. IN the towers, windows were opened, exposing machine gun emplacements and sniper posts. Two snipers reduced the man on the loudspeaker's head to a puddle of goo.
Inside the ambassador's office, the three Knights Templar Imperial Guards came into the room.
"Sir, we should go."
"To where?" he asked. "Outside? And be killed? No, we are much safer inside here."
"Yessir."
Back outside, though, was udder chaos. THe SS was currently gunning down the Hattians attacking the embassy, and out of the basement doors, M3 Bradleys equipped with flamethrowers and chainguns prepared to incinerate the revolt. Apache helocoptors took off from the basement's connection to the helipad on the Embassy grounds and proceeded to eliminate the uprising.
===========================
Star Office
The Czar turned to Papen. "Any luck with the communication channels?"
"No, sir. None so far."
"Keep Trying."
"Yessir." The Czar turned back to Alexei.
"You're not leaving until you answer a few things for me. What did you send to the First National Bank of Derscon that was so important he had to send commandos to retrieve it?"
"I send some security tapes of various polling places. I suspected that something might be a bit awry and installed cameras the day before the election. Those cameras caught some of Zyteslav's people messing with our vote counting machines.
I was going to make an announcment about it the next day, but they got me before I could. I suppose they managed to get my secretary to talk, but she must've not told them about the pictures."
THe Czar became alarmed, and then a sly smile came across his face.
"Where would he keep this tape? I'll drop you off there, along with the Praesillei Dei guards to escort you and some to find the tape.
"By the way, there is no way I'm letting you leave the Kremlin without an escort of at least seven of my guards."
Alexei shook his head, "I do not doubt that the tape is destroyed already, if I were him, I wouldn't keep something like that around, would you? Now, my guess is that if things get hairy within the city, he will make a run for the airport."
He chuckled slightly and continued, "Trust me, I can handle myself, but I wouldn't object to them coming along. Now, if he is not at the airport, I know exactly where he will be, and I will kill him..."
THe Czar looked at the clock.
"If you can parajump, you can get to the airport in thirty minutes."
Alexei grinned, "It'll be just like old times..."
The Czar smiled. "I unfortuantely, am too old to go back to my SPARTAN years." He kicked himself for revealing a national secret about the genetically enhanced and bioenginered soldiers.
"But you don't know that." The Black Angels, the ten most deadly personell in the Czardom, walked into the office.
"Glad you're here," the Czar said. "Meet Alexei Andropov. You'll be accompanying him to Haton Airport. Leave now. Alexei, if you don't come back alive, I will kill you again," the Czar said smiling.
Domingo Chavez, the leader of the Black Angels, nodded at Alexei. "Come with me." They walked to an elevator, which took them down to a basement level. When the doors opened, a B-2 stealth bomber was there.
"THis is what we're jumping out of. Lets go." When everyone was loaded in, it took off.
==============
High Above Haton Airport
THe B-2 flew over the airport at just passed 0200.
DROP!
On that, the bomb bay doors opened, everyone dropped out of the plane. Upon landing, Domingo pointed at two other guards. "You two, come with me." Domingo turned to Alexei.
"You, obviously were special forces. Nice to have someone who knows what they're doing. We'll be following you around. You have a gun?"
"Yeah, fourteen years in the 1st Red Marauders division..." He then shook his head, "I've only got a pistol, and it's empty, just give me yours if you don't mind, there will be plenty of weapons lying around soon enough..."
Domingo handed him a Desert Eagle and smiled.
"Merry Christmas. Now, lead the way."
Alexei nodded and took the gun, "Thank you very much, and now, we are off, no time to lose..." He dashed off with suprising speed to a nearby pickup truck.
He raised his foot and smashed his boot through the window. Quickly climbing in through the window, he pressed the ignition switch and revved the engine.
"Hurry up!" he shouted.
------------------
Meanwhile...
The Prime Minister's armored convoy was trying to fight it's way to the airport, but was stuck in a mob of several hundred. A flying molotov cocktail took out an open topped APC in front of the Prime Minister's vehicle. The soldiers sprayed automatic fire on the rioters while the drivers attempted to ram through.
Zyteslav ducked down in the interior and pulled out his cellphone, "Yeah, get my helicopter out here ASAP, we are to the south of Embassy Lane..."
Within three minutes, a lumbering modified Mi-8 with the crest of the Prime Minister's office emblazoned on the bottom and sides appeared, hovering over the beseiged convoy. The helicopter crew lowered a ladder while soldiers used the side mounted machine guns on the crowd.
The Prime Minister quickly scaled the ladder, and the convoy slowly backed up out of the crowd and sped out of the area. It shot over the airport and towards the outline of a large fortress in the distance...
------------------
"Shit, there he goes..." said Alexei. "I suppose we will need some help if we are to flush him out of his hiding spot..."
------------------
Haton shoreline
From the shoreline emplacements, many landing craft could be seen speeding towards the beach, the few left guarding the area hunkered down. The last man who had tried to move got a sniper's .303 round in his face, and none others were taking the risk. As the craft beached themselves, they opened their armored 'arms', providing cover for the disembarking marines.
The few militiamen were no match for the well trained and equipped marines, and the beach was secured within thirty minutes. In the sky, the Navy's aircraft clashed with those of the Army and Sky Guards in a vicious battle to the death.
Admiral Aleksandrov arrived with the second wave and set up his command post in the remains of the fortifications. He may have been an Admiral, but his tactical abilities spanned every terrain known to man.
"Next, we take the airport, that is where that coward Zyteslav is probably heading..."

The large revolver-magazine-like thing hovered over its target range. A green light lit up, and twenty large metal rods just short of the size of an SLBM fired straight down onto its target. The energy on impact would have the force of about an SLBM with conventional warheads.

Domingo got off the radio and turned to Alexei. "I got word from HQ. The Czar ordered a testfire, live ammo, of course, of some sort of space weapon.
"Its target is the fortress that bastard is heading to."

Freeport, Freeport Island, The Island States/New Haven Socialist Republic
Five aerospace gunships from Coastal Defense Base "Gamma-East" stood ready to take off as fusion reactors below the great defensive base fueled their power generators with hot plasma. 119 men stood at attention as Colonel Stanley, leader of the New Haven Special Forces Division, inspected his men.
"Comrades, our allies in Hattia are in great peril!" Stanley barked over the rising hum of the gunship's gravity drives. "Nationalists have perverted the teachings of the Revolution, turning back the hard work paid for with the blood of comrades! They will get Hattia over our dead bodies, and the bodies of comrades that will mark this bloody day. Board ship!"
The men streamed into their gunships, the 'refueling' booms lifting up and away, and the gunships rose into the air as if they were propelled by magic. Their next stop would be the port facilities of Haton, and if their luck held, communications would be established on approach.
"Haton, this is New Haven Socialist Republic Gunship 'Repulse!'," the commanding officer of the Maurader-class Gunship, Lieutenant Tony Upham radioed every five minutes. Come in, Haton!" As the ship flew on, Upham ordered the gunship's coilguns set on 'low power' for tank-busting (instead of the breakneck speeds the DU rounds usually fired at).
"Haton, please come in!"

Aleksandrov ducked for cover in his command bunker, the Nationalists had apparently been alerted to his presence and were assaulting the line in full force. He peeked up above the trench and unloaded his automatic pistol in a crowd rushing his position.
He ducked back down again when he heard someone talking over the radio. He reloaded his gun and picked up the transmitter. Over the din of battle, he shouted,
"Lieutenant, this is Admiral Aleksandrov, heavy fighting in port sector, LZ is hot, I say again, LZ is hot. Stay alert for enemy fighters over the city."
He dropped the transmitter as more enemies rushed him. He pulled the trigger on his pistol, and groaned when it jammed. He dropped his and pulled out his sword. Quickly, he parried the first person's bayonet and then left him without an arm. The others quickly decided that rushing the Admiral wasn't a good idea, and began to load their rifles, but were stopped short by a marine wielding an HMG.

Zyteslav's helicopter tore through the air towards the fortress. As it approached, he was blinded by a blast of light, and the force from the explosion threw the helicopter around, nearly sending it into the ground.
"Bloody hell, change course for Leningrad..."
------------------
The bright blast of light made Alexei blink, "Well, there goes that castle. He will head for Leningrad I suppose, it's time to assemble an army..."
He floored the accelerator and sped down the road towards the city center...

*** Approaching Haton ***
"Roger that General," Lieutenant Upham radioed. "Let's drop down low and get these guys unloaded on the outskirts before we get shot up! Ensign, keep your eyes to the sky and make sure we're not followed by fighters. Can you get a hold of New Haven Aerospace Command?"
"Hell no, there is a shitload of interference between us and a NHAC Communications Repeater," Ensign Robert Oppenheimer, the Tactical Officer of the 'Repulse'.
"Great, we're going to have to do this the old-fashioned way," Upham replied. "Red light!"
*** In the back of the 'Repulse' ***
"Red light!" Lieutenant Upham called from the cockpit. "We're going to have to drop you guys off, we can't get a hold of NHAC! Wait an hour, we'll be back with ammo and more guys!" The back door slid open and the soldiers got to their feet as the lights went red.
"Alright, we're going in!" Colonel Stanley yelled as he got in the doorway. The light turned green, and the New Haven Special Forces troops began to drop in quickly on a nearby hill by parachute.
"Home Plate to Red One, Blue One, and Yellow One, hostile gunship detected, sector 4.63. Move squadrons to intercept"
"Roger that, Home Plate, moving to intecept on attack vector 6..."
Three squadrons of HAI-4 Interceptors broke off from the battle over the capitol and streaked towards the Repulse. The tiny aircraft were extremely fast and hard to hit, but wouldn't take much damage. They swarmed over the Repulse like bees, attacking with their short-range cannons...
------------------
As Colonel Stanley and his men touched down on the hill, they were met by a heavily armed crowd of around fifty. People in the crowd ranged from some as young as sixteen and what appeared to be around eighty years of age.
A large man with an SKS in his hands and an RPG slung over his shoulder approached Stanley.
"Comrade, we have to get out of here, they've probably seen yo--"
The sentence was cut short as the man's head exploded in a puff of red and pink. The rest of the crowd hit the dirt as several T-34s and a throng of nationalists rushed out of the city and towards their position. The people quickly regained their senses and returned fire...

N.H.S.F. Repulse
"Bastards! They're swarming around us! Ensign, knock those fighters out!" The Repulse's coilgun turrets began shadowing the fighters movements, taking their time to fire. A solid DU round shot from the turrets at the correct moment, their trajectories preplotted on the Repulse's computers. They shot into the paths of the fighters...
Red Hammer LZ
"Holy shit, take cover!" Stanley yelled as the soldiers got behind rocks, herding the civilian fighters behind the rocks as well. "Anderson, Williams, take those sonsabitches out!" The two soldiers unshouldered their RPG-17s (some of the last of their kind in the arsenal, as more 'modern' weapons were on the verge of deployment), loaded their rockets, and fired at the T-34s...
"Afix bayonettes!"
As the RPGs streaked towards the targets, the tanks behind them began to find cover among the burnt out buildings that dotted the area. However, the rioters surged forward, at least several hundred of them. As they neared the Libertarian Communist lines, many fell to the machine guns of two old Yak-9s that strafed the advancing forces.
As they fell back, the Islanders and Libertarians could hear voices through loudspeakers in the distance...
"All civilians, lay down your arms, this is the 1st Armored Guards Division of the Hattian People's Army."
Now, the real fight would begin, until now only disorganized mobs were the only opponents of the Navy and Libertarians, but now they had many of the Army's elite units coming up behind them...
--------------------
The fighters were not much of a match for the Repulse's guns, some of the damaged aircraft tried to ram the gunship, while the rest retreated to the relative safety of the Nationalist controlled Industrial sector.

The Repulse was struck by three fighters, crippling its main computer and damaging the Plasma Power Plant. As it flew off slowly to get repaired over the next three weeks, the other Mauraders began a search-and-destroy mission against the tanks hiding behind the buildings.
Meanwhile, the special forces troops began plotting their escape. Colonel Stanley crawled over to the man in charge of the Hattian mob. "Comrade, may I offer you a cigarette?"
The man shouldered his rifle and turned around, "No thanks, bad habit. Now, we have about ten minutes before they get here. We have two choices: Either we fight our way through the city to the ports, or we go into the tunnels.
The former will likely result in most of us being killed and having our bodies dragged through the streets, and the latter risks us being lost and dying in the winding corridors under the city. It's your choice comrade, we are quite ready to die, but I will let you decide how it happens..."

"We will take the tunnels!" Stanley replied as he got a claymore rigged. "Lead my men to the nearest tunnel entrance while I get this claymore ready. When we get into the tunnel, I'll secure this to the floor and tie the tripline to the door. If they figure we went in here, they'll get a nasty surprise on the other end."
"Sir, we could use Patterson's SUWV (Small Unmanned Wheeled Vehicle) to scout ahead," Lieutenant Bowman suggested.
"Corporal Patterson, get your toy car ready, we're going into the tunnels!"
"Right, follow me..."
The man lept to his feet and ran with suprising speed down the hill and towards the city. As they ran, they stumbled upon a small group of Nationalists, and through the ensuing firefight, left none of them alive.
They ran for what seemed like hours, until they arrived at a small clearing in the woods outside the city. The man cleared out some small plants, revealing a rusted metal trapdoor. He swung it open and began the decent down...
------------------
Alexei slammed on the brakes as a huge mob rounded the corner. They didn't seem to be angry, and many were throwing down their weapons. The truck was quickly engulfed by the crowd, who didn't even seem to notice it in their blind terror.
Alexei opened the door and grabbed the nearest person he could reach, a boy not out of his teens with an M1 Garand slung over his shoulder.
"What are you running for?" inquired Alexei.
"The bloody Army is here, we don't have a chance against them!"
The boy then wriggled out of Alexei's grasp and fled down the street. Alexei sighed, climbed on top of the truck, and bellowed...
"Comrades, why do you flee!?"
This stopped the crowd, who began to recognize the figure on top of the vehicle.
"Are you afraid of death?
This is our one chance to defeat Zyteslav and free this land from his fascist grip. This is our war! Our ancestors had the Wars between the Cities. Our great grandparents had the Revolution, some of us older ones had the Tundric invasion, and now we have the fight of our lives to save our freedom!
Would you rather have a quick death now, or live out the rest of your days under Zyteslav's heel? I for one am ready to die, here and now!"
He raised his fist in the air and screamed,
Alath su ahaste!"
(For death and glory)
While the crowd cheered, another figure approached. This one was clad in a dark trenchcoat and a wide brimmed hat, so that very little of his face was visible. He was, of course, an agent of the HIIA. Well, more specifically, THE agent. He was Vassili Baikunin, Senior Commisar of the HIIA.
He looked up at Alexei, and said in a rather quiet voice, "Welcome back, Prime Minister."
With one quick motion, a sword within a jewelled scabbard appeared in his hands.
"Your sword, I saved it from your house before they looted it."
The crowd began to make it's way towards the outskirts of the city, towards the point where it would meet the Army in battle. They soon stood alone in the street.
"How do you plan on defeating them, Prime Minister?"
Alexei sighed, and responded, "I don't know, but I always think best when things are on the verge of collapsing..."

Haton Tunnel Network
****************
"Switch your goggles on infrared and get out your infrared flashlights men, we're going in," Stanley said as he jumped in. After the last of the Hattian mob and New Haven SpecOps got in, the trapdoor was shut and wired to explode on tampering (the words "Do Not Open" painted in English and Hattian on the outside part of the door).
The tunnel glowed in the infrared spectrum, empty casings and old bayonettes shining brightly in the IR goggles. "This way comrades. Patterson, deploy your toy car." The soft whirr of an electric motor signalled the advance of the SUWV, its infrared camera and laser distance indicator piercing the darkness like the business end of a bayonette.
"It looks like the first intersection is seventy meters straight ahead," Patterson said as he monitored the cars progress. "It looks like the left path will take us south, while the north route appears caved in."
"I guess we go south," Stanley noted. "Someone write these tunnels down and the intersection positions via GPS, I want to be able to get back through here later. I have a plan."
En Route to Hattia
Three choppers containing Knights Templar were en route to the target destination. (OOC: Think HALO 2 Spartans) The transponders on the Black Angels was showing up on their computer.
Touchdown in Five minutes.
OOC: Sorry about not posting for a while, I haven't been feeling that great, and on top of that, even I have stuff to do around christmas.
Quickly advancing through the outskirts of the great city, the army smashed the small amount of disorganized resistance that it encountered. The massive T-90H2 tanks rumbled through the narrow streets, sometimes taking out a building or two when the road became too narrow. As they neared the huge stone wall that surrounded the inner city, everything became quiet, except for the noise of the tanks and the rhythmic marching of the infantrymen.
They had expected the harsh, black portcullis to be open for them, but now it was closed. As the lead elements filed up in front of the wall waiting for orders, the trap was sprung.
Charges inside the buildings lining the westbound roads, the only paths of escape detonated, rendering them impassable. Whistles and shouting began to fill the air, and a massive red flag ascended above the gatehouse. There was a loud cry and the citizenry of the city opened up with everything they had.
RPGs, Stingers, emplaced AA guns and several Shilka AA vehicles began firing at the support helicopters that shadowed the advance of the tanks. Not anticipating resistance, they were taken by suprise and quickly downed.
People on the ramparts stood up and fired down into the assembled infantrymen, while cannons that would have looked more in place firing against the forces of Napolean Bonaparte opened up, firing over the wall and impacting on the thin top armor of the tanks.
The tanks attempted to maneuver, but the area was too crowded with their footbound comrades. Their treads began to get clogged with the ragged remains of what used to be soldiers.
Within an hour, it was all over. A few of the tanks had managed to blast their way out and escaped into the city. Otherwise, the ground in front of the ramparts was littered with charred and mangled corpses, and the nearby sewers were said to have flowed red for years to come.

1st Armored Guards Division HQ: Outskirts of Haton
"Goddamnit!" shouted General Aleksandr Zhukov as he recieved news of the decimation of his advance units. As he calmed back down, he relaxed in his chair, and began talking to himself.
"So, Andropov is back... It seems he hasn't lost all of his talent yet. If I bring comrade Zyteslav his head, the rewards will be great, and as for those Islanders, they will meet the same fate..."
He stood back up and shouted to his aide, "Send word to the Marauders, I want Andropov, and those Islanders dead, and I want their heads sent to Zyteslav!"
------------------
Several hours later, the army resumed it's attack, but now it used precision artillery bombardments to systematically began levelling the wall. That was the only obstacle that prevented them from taking the city center...
------------------
As Aleksandrov heard the artillery bombardment commence, he turned to the Dersconi soldiers,
"Comrades, if you want to see your homeland again, I suggest you make for the airport and steal yourselves a plane. Otherwise, you and I will be dead within a few short hours."
------------------
As Aleksandrov spoke, people were erecting barricades and fortifying Red Square with what equipment they had left. Several old tanks, some technicals with .50 cal machine guns and a few mortars, along with as much spare wood, stone and sandbags as they could find.
Unfortunately, they were fighting the Red Marauders, who prefered to come by helicopters. Coming in fast and low, while the noise of their rotors was masked by the din of battle (Thanks to a renewed attack upon the weakened wall.), their insertion helicopters strafed the groups of people in the square and dropped nigh on fifty of them on the ground.
Quickly searching around while the citizenry were engaged in fighting the main force of Marauders, the Commander and his entourage sighted Andropov. Drawing their swords, their commander said, "Leave Andropov to me, you occupy the others..."
They then advanced, intent on following Zhukov's orders.

Haton Port Facilities
Underneath an old, rusted shut door, a steady banging could be heard, moving the door closer and closer to being moved. After three minutes, the door finally burst open, revealing the Islanders and Hattians beneath. "Don't shoot, we're friendlies!" Stanley called out as the Islanders threw their hands up to show they were not a threat to anyone.
As the door opened, two women in the dark blue uniforms of the Hattian Marines peered down into the tunnel, after a few seconds they withdrew out of sight. There was a short exchange and a man with a large hat appeared.
"Greetings comrades, there isn't much time to talk. They are about to break into the inner city, and I'm marshalling as much support as I can, follow me or get somewhere safe..."
Domingo Chavez, who was with Andropov, turned his head to see the approaching Hattian enemies.
"Tangos to the right!" He yelled in the headpiece. He turned and fired, pulling Alexei down into some cover. Between bursts with his weapon, he yelled at Alexei, as that was the lowest volume of voice that could be heard.
"Sir! They've seen you, and they're gonna try to kill you! Fight well, or run! Whatever you do, don't die!"
Angels, this is a few Knights Templar squads. I see you're in quite a fix, aren't you? Here, I'll help.

Colonel Stanley looked at the man with the hat. "We're coming with you! Men, lets get ready to call in the gunships."
------------------------------------
(Gunship Base)
Eight brand-new Type 22 "Twin-Tail" gunships, armed with its primary 30mm chaingun and anti-tank missiles, took off from their base (the base of the old Mauraders in The Island States). They darted off at Mach 3, approaching Hatton with incredible speed.
"Alright men, drop to combat speeds and put grav drives in standby for hover," Commander John Parsons of the 1st Gunship Squadron radioed between the gunships. "Lets get ready to kick some ass! Coming up on Haton... in ten minutes."
Alexei chuckled, "Run, where would I go?"
He drew his sword and withdrew a smoke grenade from his coat.
"I need you guys to distract them, If I can take out the officer, they will probably retreat, that or charge you guys."
He pulled the pin out of the grenade and continued, "Try to flank them, but watch out, they've got that Land Warrior system, so they don't have to expose themselves to shoot at you."
He tossed the grenade out into the open, and after the great, billowing cloud of smoke encased the area, he was gone...
------------------
Admiral Aleksandrov nodded, and turned his head out in the direction of the square.
"It sounds as if the fight has started without us, everyone, double time!"
The drummer started up a fast beat, and the column was off.
------------------
The Hattian Sky Guards had not taken part in the battle for Haton, yet. They had been occupied over the skies of Severnaya, keeping the great city out of the hands of Zyteslav. Now, the giant engines of the HASF-5s roared over the city, attacking concentrations of nationalist forces. For a few moments, the aircraft of the Sky Guards blotted out the sun over Red Square, and then they clashed with the Army Airforce...
------------------
Inner City Wall
The beleaguered defenders of the wall were losing the fight, several hundred defending several miles of wall against thousands of the enemy.
From over the radio, a message came...
All defenders, fighting retreat to the redoubt in the square, we
have to slow them down for as long as we can.
They flowed down off the walls as the Dersconi sunbeam came down upon the massed army troops. The bright light obscured the doomed soldiers for a few seconds, and then revealed the incinerated remains of many unfortunate soldiers. A cheer rose up from the retreating militiamen, and the Dersconi gave them a few extra minutes to escape...
------------------
Leningrad: City Keep
"I want them dead!" screamed Zyteslav as he glared at the young messenger from General Zhukov.
"Tell your commander that I'm coming to deal with Andropov myself..."
The messenger saluted and ran out of the room. He was happy to get out of there, he and the other young officers had drawn straws to see who would have to deliver the message to Zyteslav, who was reputed to have quite a temper when it came to bad news.
As he climbed in the helicopter to take him back down to Haton, brief thoughts of desertion crossed his mind. After all, he had done well in the army, and served his country with great honor. As the helicopter sped southward, he resolved to sneak out at night once he got to the base, he was.
As he thought about the past few months, he came to the realization that Zyteslav was completely insane, and cursed himself for not noticing it before.
A few hours later at the base, he silently evaded the sentries and made it out in the city, within a few hours, he would be in Red Square...
OOC: Ehem, you need to continue a bit -- I cannot really do anything yet.
so BUMP.
Alexei sprinted over the open area, had it not been for the smoke, he would have been shot as soon as he stood up. Letting forth a great yell, he emerged on the other side and lept over the barricade. Before the enemy knew what was going on, two of them fell headless to the ground and another soon followed with a bullet in his chest.
A few yards away, the officer broke off his fight with two militiamen and charged at Alexei, sword drawn. Unfortunately for him, he was rather unskilled with it and had never used it in combat before.
As he charged, Alexei sidestepped and stabbed his sword through the man's back. The point of the blade emerged out of his chest. Alexei withdrew the sword, sending the man to the ground.
He then shouted, "Enemies of freedom, your officer lies dying on the ground. Flee, or you all will meet the same fate as him!"
Around the square, the commandoes heard Alexei, and most could see their officer on the ground. Most either promptly surrendered or ran off into the city. The latter wouldn't make it far...
After all the prisoners had been disarmed, Alexei approached the Dersconi.
"Comrades... I thank you for your help..."

1st Armored Guards Division HQ: Outskirts of Haton
General Zhukov looked up from some paperwork as an enraged Zyteslav stormed into his tent.
"Zhukov, do you realize that Andropov still lives?!" he shouted.
Zhukov shrugged, "How can that be? I sent the Marauders after him..."
Zyteslav sighed, calming down a bit, "The feed from the officer's helmet camera is facing the sky, and not moving..."
Zhukov put his pen down on the desk and cursed quietly to himself.
"What do we do now? The men are becoming demoralized, and probably won't fight much longer. I've already had to shoot several deserters just today."
Zyteslav chuckled, "I'll tell you what we are going to do, we are going to go down there and kill him ourselves!"
Zhukov looked shocked, "What do you mean? Get in the jeep and drive down there..." he trailed off.
"Exactly, but first I must make a phone call..."
He pulled out his cell phone, dialed a few numbers and began speaking.
"Yes, Commander. Prepare your battery to fire on the capitols of New Haven and Derscon. Yes, both of them, good."
He then turned back to Zhukov, "Okay, let's go..."
-------------------
Through the streets of Haton, towards the Square raced a jeep with a large white flag on a pole on the roof. Within a few minutes, it screeched to a stop in the center of the Square, only a few yards from Alexei and the Dersconi.
From the jeep, stepped a solitary soldier. He cupped his hands around his mouth and shouted.
"All hail Zyteslav the First, Tsar of the Hattian Cities!"
Once the man was done shouting, Zyteslav and Zhukov stepped from the jeep, and began walking calmly toward Alexei.
Seven feet away from Alexei, Zyteslav and Zhukov stopped. Zhukov remained quiet while Zyteslav began talking.
"Greetings comrade Andropov, and of course, the noble Dersconi. What a suprise to see you here."
At this moment, Aleksandrov and his party emerged onto the square and sprinted to the center. Zyteslav looked over towards them and continued.
"Ah, good to see you, Comrade Aleksandrov, and look, the Islanders have deemed fit to meddle in Hattian affairs. Now, before I remove Alexei's head from his body, I'd like to inform the Dersconi and Islanders that they have a present on the way to their respective nations as we speak." he said with a slight chuckle.
As he said the last bit, Alexei saw him glance skyward for a split second, and a feeling of dread nearly overcame him. He whispered to Aleksandrov.
"He's launched the nukes, you will have to disable them at the control center, he's jammed our long range communications..."
Zyteslav, looking slightly annoyed that Alexei was whispering to Aleksandrov, said "Now, I suppose we should get down to business..."
With that, he drew his sword and pointed it at Alexei. Alexei grimaced, drew his sword and touched it to Zyteslav's, "You too, Zhukov."
Zyteslav feigned suprise, "Ah, I'm insulted, Alexei. Do you not consider me a worthy enough opponent?"
"I think that both of the traitors should meet the same fate..." said Alexei with a great amount of hostility in his voice.
Zhukov sighed and drew his sword reluctantly. Each man counted to three in his mind, and it began...
-------------------
While this was going on, Aleksandrov spread the message to the Dersconi.
"Come comrades, we have to hurry or none of us will have anything to return home to." he said. He then signaled one of the technicals, an SUV with a hole cut out of the top and a .50 caliber machine gun.
The driver brought the vehicle alongside the group. Aleksandrov looked at the assembled group. "Only five of us can fit inside, I suppose the highest ranking people. I'll man the machine gun."
With that, he handed the driver a map and climbed on top of the SUV and jumped down into the machine gun position. Once the five Dersconi were in, the SUV sped off down the streets.
After a few minutes of driving, bullets started to ricochet off the sides of the vehicle. The SUV rammed it's way through the first roadblock and veered off into the suburbs. Aleksandrov continued blazing away at the groups of soldiers that tried to stop them.
As the sped down the main road, a T-55 pulled out in front of them and began to rotate it's main gun towards the SUV. The driver sent the vehicle into reverse and into a back alley, narrowly avoiding the tank's shot. The driver then went forward again and turned back towards the tank.
He floored the accelerator and turned the vehicle so that it narrowly made it between the tank and the building that it was beside. They then sped out of the city where the tank couldn't hope to catch them.
The driver sighed with relief and looked at the map Aleksandrov had given him. After a few more minutes of driving, they arrived at what looked to be a normal convict labor camp, although it currently appeared to be deserted. Aleksandrov slipped down into the seat and looked at his shoulder, it was oozing red.
"Bloody hell, didn't even feel it." He sighed and looked at the Dersconi.
"Well, it looks like you are going in alone. I've been in here before. Just go in to the biggest building and follow the arrows on the walls. Watch out for the guards and unmanned turrets. Make for the command center and once there, shoot everything..."
Convict Labour Camp
Domingo Chavez nodded. "I can get you airlifted out of here, if need be, since I have a call to make. Give me your radio." The driver handed it over and Domingo made a call.

Domingo looked at the driver. "You'll make it." He turned to his team. "Move out, go stealth." They attached the silencers to their weapons and put on their night vision goggles -- enhanced to allow depth perception -- and they were off.
================================
The twenty Knights Templar soldiers of the Guard formed a protective shield around Alexei, weapons drawn and pointed at Zyteslav. Suddenly, four Apache choppers, fully armed, appeared over the horizon, and hovered over the group. The pilot of the lead chopper sent a message to the Knight Commander.
Angels need assistance. withdraw.
While only the lead Knight could hear this message, everyone just looked at him. He leaned to Alexei.
"I'm needed to reinforce the Angels. God be with you."
OOC: More later.
Convict Camp
As the Angels sat in the shadows, the rumble of helocoptors could be heard in the distance. Unmanned turrets started firing at it, but they were taken out by a few ATS Missiles from the choppers.
The four Apaches circled around the landing zone, clearing it of unmanned turrets and the unlucky guard or two.
With that, they landed, emptying their soldiers.
"Greetings, Domingo. Time to take out a command center, eh?"
"Indeed." They went over to the building, blew open the door, and entered.
"He said to follow the arrows. Price, what's the explosive situation look like?" He shuffled over a rocket launcher strapped on his back with extra rockets, and a few C4 Blocks.
"Good enough?" Domingo smiled.
"Plenty. Let's move." They headed inside the building, deeper into its heart. The lights flickered a bit, after the Apache's took down the generator systems, making the base run on backup power. A guard or two here and there was shot or stabbed, bt no unmanned turrets. Yet.

Derscon Stratiegic Defence Initiative Command Center
"Jesus! Incoming ICBM's from Hattia!" The Commandant went wide-eyed.
"Activate all SDI systems NOW!"
"Yessir!" The red alarm went off around the bunker complex, and automatic signals were sent to the appropriate centers.

In Space
On board the Space Defence Platform Cairo, the General got the call from DSDICC -- only it was the autoactivate. He kept his cool.
All Missile Shield Programs are to activate immediately.
On the Cairo, two other SDPs, and fifteen satellites all positioned in the direction of the missiles, massive antiICBM laser systems were being exposed and activated.
After thirty seconds, they all fired, taking down twenty of the missiles in one sweep, with more to come raining down from the satellites and the SDPs.
=========================
ATLANTIS Command Center, Continential Shelf
Under the water, the chief ATLANTIS Base was bustling with activity -- communications activity.
=========================
Dersconi Exclusive Economic Zone -- 200mi to sea
The water was calm as the fishing boat team was casting its nets. The captain of the one boat came to one of the fishermen.
"So, what's the catch look like?" He shook his head.
"Not good. The past ten minutes there's been nothing." Suddenly, the water started shaking. The waves became much stronger, and then, the water parted.
Arising from the water were massive dome-like structures on poles -- really thick poles. The domes opened and what looked like massive guns -- guns you'd see on a sci-fi movie -- appeared. The captain was in shock.
"What the hell is going on?!?!" He shouted. Suddenly, red beams of emmense heat shot out of the gun-looking devices, and the capitain knew what they were.
A Naval engineer for fifty years, he was part of the construction team that developed all of the Navy's secret little toys -- the Archangels, Pisces, DD(X) Destroyers, the works. But one thing never left the engineers mind. It was the project he never knew was possible, but it was done.
The ATLANTIS Project.
A massive Maritime Stratiegic Defence System, the ATLANTIS Project encompassed the Dersconi SOSUS system, Underwater naval bases, and the massive laser system that was part of the Dersconi Missile Shield.
These thoughts only brought more fear though. He knew what they were, now, and he knew these things were meant for only one purpose.
To take down Intercontinental Ballistic Missiles -- nuclear missiles. The captain's pants were a bit damp at this point, so he went inside and whispered a little prayer.
===========================
Dersconi Coastline
Massive Nationalist antimissile missile batteries (An improved version of the Patriot III) popped up from under the ground, as did domes like those of the ATLANTIS Project, only these did not open.
The Space was the Firewall. The Sea was the Shield. The Land was the Final Line of Missile Defense. If an ICBM could get passed all three of the shields, a city in Derscon was doomed. Not one ICBM has EVER successfully made it passed ALL THREE shields.
Everyone that knew of the situation hoped that these would not be the first.

"Jesus Christ, we're being fired upon!" An officer in the New Haven Office for South Haven SDI yelled. "Hattia is firing fucking missiles at us!"
"Go to Condition Black, spin up the missiles, arm the ground-based lasers and contact the fleet. Get a hold of ZMI immediately, tell them we have incoming birds heading for Baltic Island!"
-----------------------------------
New Haven - Over Shenzhou
"Condition Black, we're being nuked!" the Comm. Officer for the New Haven called out as the Admiral took a look on his screen.
"Damn the ultranationalists in Hattia! All coilgun batteries, lock on warheads and fire! All ships, fire on warheads! This is not a drill!"
The combined coilgun arsenals of the first and second fleets fired into and above the atmosphere over New Haven and Hattia, taking care not to hit satellites. The coilgun projectiles were solid metal, designed for the purpose of shooting down incoming missiles.
"We're registering that twenty were destroyed in the first volley! We still have a few falling down on Freeport, Asherton and Baltic City. Ground defenses are engaging."

Z.M.A.F. Command Bunker Complex Outzone City, Baltic Island, Haven
The command centre was dropped into uproar as a huge Arch Angel class battle sat had picked up the infra red launch plumes in Hattia. Moments later they had sent out dozens of messages while alarms began to spread. Through out the bunker complex a voice roared as people ran at brake neck speed to their positions.
“WE HAVE INCOMING! BATTLE STATIONS BATTLE STATIONS! ALL PERSONNEL THIS FACILITY WILL SEAL IN 3 MINUTES”
Outzone City
The data channels whined as the emergency messages blasted across every screen on every building. Dozens of huge audio sirens were wailing as the city was plunged into chaos. Tens of thousands were on the streets being herded by ragged lines of police into shelters while overhead the buzzing of ZMDF defence forces drones seemed to fill the sky. 439 people would die in the spreading panic even as overhead the sky began to glow an eerie blue as the cities force wall generators spun up.
Fifteen miles outside Outzone city limits. The ZMI Outzone
The massive dark green forms lay silent on their gantries. In the distance an NHSR farm house could be seen, its occupants had complained bitterly over the huge metal constructions being placed here.
In 2 minutes with dozens of flashing lights and a bank of sirens opening up the huge forms of the Long Sword battery came to life, their gantry motors roaring as the leviathan energy weapons were moved to firing position. 12 seconds after that the night sky seemed to turn to near day as from all over the Outzone the Long Sword and Centurion batteries lashed out in continuos fire.
Low Earth Orbit
The ZMI planetary defence grid reacted with a similar effect to a concrete fence post being applied to a sack of lard at speed. Over 1,480 satellites slashed out energy fire and waves of Star Slam missiles while 23 battle platforms let rip with a hail of Grand Slam missiles and huge sweeping energy lances. Directly over Outzone city the huge counter grav multi purpose station shook as dozens of heavy coil guns salvoed across its structure.
The Ziggurat, Megacity One, Baltic Coast Europe
The room was dark, in it figures were hard to make out while screens played the Arch Angels telescopic feeds again and again. However on the main screen a conference room showed. Several startled military officers were standing about as was a semi horrified diplomatic corps member and a high ranking INT-SEC officer.
Voices were talking however it was not a discussion. The voices spoke eerily as one.
“We have confirmed a large hostile nuclear attack targeted on the NHSR by Hattian ballistic forces. We suggest that the grand battery be detached from its present position with Battle Fleet to directly over Hattia. We suggest that Hattian close orbital space have a limited military interdiction placed upon it. We also suggest that we offer to ferry NHSR strike forces to eliminate any further launch sites. If this is not possible We suggest the sites are rendered useless from orbit. We cannot allow this gross act of mass murder on our trusted neighbours to take place. If Hattian bomber forces mobilize Sky Marshal Boswick you are ordered to eliminate them and their bases. If Outzone cities environs are struck by one of the inbound weapons eliminate all Hattian nuclear forces by any means necessary. We the Gestalt ask that you gentlemen contact your forces after these events. Sky Marshall as of now all high energy forces are at readiness level two.”
Outzone City
The huge section of avenue cranked into the air to reveal the sharp nose of the air defence needle craft. In moments its roaring engines filled the deathly empty street with steam as water was flashed into the launch pit even as the air defence needle roared skywards. All over the city similar craft were blasting into the air, their long forms clamped to their lower stage rocket launch units which would blast them up to SCRAM jet activation speed. Their pilots job was the hardest of all. If any missiles made it through all the counter fire they would have a brief chance to actually engage the warheads it would spill out as they screamed meteorically down through the atmosphere. The engagement time would be mere seconds and the probability against them would be phenomenal. However even a small chance was worth it when dealing with such terrible weapons.

New Haven Office for South Haven SDI
"Warheads dropping on Baltic City have been eliminated, ZMI forces destroyed with quickly," The officer replied as he checked his screens. "The First Fleet has eliminated the two warheads dropping on Freeport. The last warhead is coming down on Asherton City now... lasers firing..."
Asherton City
"Here they come now!" General Alex Price said as he watched on his wrist computer. "Come on bro, we need you to move to a secure location now."
"Most of my citizens are still trying to seek shelter," Mayor Price of Asherton City, the General's brother, replied. "I stay up here until they are all safe. You're welcome to take shelter as well."
"No, I stay with you," the General replied. "Lasers firing..." A widebeam invisible laser shot from a mountaintop nearby, aimed right at the edge of the warhead. "The warhead has NOT been destroyed, it burned off the back edge and its drifting west. Impact in ten seconds..." Mayor Price opened a bottle of Red Star Vodka, took a drink straight from the bottle, and saw the bright flash of a thermonuclear explosion before he was blinded. He would be dead or dying soon, as well as his brother...
Asherton City had just been nuked.
Derscon Stratiegic Defence Initiative Command Center
"Sir! Nuclear explosion in The Island States!"
"Bring it up!" On the mainscreen, the satellite display Asherton City showed....nothing. Nothing but flat land, a small crater, and radioactive glass formed by the detonation.
"This is not going to go over well. What's the reports of the ICBM's on us?"
"All of them destroyed. Most of the missiles were vaporized before they could release their warheads, which is a plus."
"Good. Forward this to the Prince."

OOC: It was a glancing hit to the outskirts of the city, Derscon. The core of the city and the opposite side are rather intact.
--------------------------------------------------
IC:
A Stingray squadron flew over the devastation, radioing back information to New Haven Disaster Response Command (NHDRC). "NHDRC, this is Alpha Flight. Man, did they hit us hard."
"Can you determine weapon yield?" NHDRC radioed.
"I'm figuring a five megaton blast. If it were a bigger warhead, I'd say that we'd hit a pocket of hydrogen onboard with the laser and reduced the yield. Its probably what saved the rest of the city."
"Hows the city square looking?"
"The central buildings are still intact, but they have massive burn marks on the front side... you can see up here the 'shadows' created by people's bodies when the flash and heat got to them. God help them all."
"Can you see any survivors?"
"Yeah, most of them are badly burned and probably irradiated. Some are perfectly fine, probably the few that had the opportunity to reach the nuclear shelters. It looks like three hospitals were totally demolished, one is on fire, but the other six are still intact and functioning on emergency power. If anything, this place needs to have electricity and fresh water restored on the double."
"Take a flight over the crater, how bad is it?"
"Its glass, sir. Water is rushing into the crater slowly, its going to create a lagoon when its done filling in. I estimate from the maps that about 20,000 people alone lived here, and even if they were in shelters... they're toast."
"Roger that, Alpha Flight. Return to base before you go over your allowable exposure."
"Copy that NHDRC."
Alexei sighed slightly, and lunged towards Zhukov and Zyteslav, putting them on the defensive. After testing their defenses, he stepped back, forcing the others to stretch out their arms to reach them. When they did this, Alexei ducked under their outstretched arms and gave Zhukov an extremely hard blow to the head, sending him to the ground in a daze.
Before Zyteslav could react and before Zhukov hit the ground, Alexei jabbed his sword into Zhukov's stomach, withdrew it and rolled backwards, narrowly avoiding Zyteslav's blade. Alexei stood up while Zyteslav looked at Zhukov's corpse.
"Good thing I didn't like him anyway." mused Zyteslav.
He then lunged forward, nearly catching Alexei in the throat, and the battle continued.
The battle raged on for a few minutes, neither man penetrating the other's defenses. As both tired, Zhukov took a cheap shot and kicked up the remnants of a broken cobblestone in Alexei's face, blinding him temporarily, and the next attack would blind him for the rest of his life.
In the middle of the square, Alexei doubled over in pain, dropping his sword, while blood dripped from the remains of his eyes.
Zyteslav chuckled and approached Alexei, and then grabbed him by the hair, pulling him upright.
"Alexei, once again, you've gambled too much and lost..."
Alexei felt around on his leg, he knew what was coming next.
"Bloody hell, where is it..." he thought to himself.
He hand felt metal, "Yes!"
A small knife flashed in the sunlight, and Alexei slashed blindly at Zyteslav. There was a second of silence, and he heard a disgusting gurgle and a body hitting the ground.
He dropped to the ground beside his fallen foe, and prayed silently to whoever would listen that those missiles were stopped...

Commander Valenko looked at the large screen in the middle of the command room.
"Damn, their missile defenses are good..." he mumbled to himself. Most of them were taken out. He tapped his foot impatiently.
"How long until it's done charging?" he said to the nearby technician.
He looked at his console and replied, "It's done now, sir."
Valenko smiled, "Good, send it over Derscon's capitol, the Tsar has said that we are to pay more attention to them than New Haven."
The technician nodded, and began typing at his console, a minute later, he said, "Alright sir, it should take about ten minutes..."
Valenko grimaced as the screen switched automatically to camera feed, showing a large group of men advancing up the hallway.
"Dersconi... damn them...". He pulled out his pistol, "Lockdown the facility!" he shouted.
-------------------
After he shouted this, all the lights in the facility went off, alarms went on and the automated defenses activated. Shouting echoed through the hallways over the sounds of the alarms as the guards armed themselves and waited for further orders.
Approximately thirty-five seconds later, every door in the facility shut and locked itself.

Over earth...
A rather inconspicuous satellite, appearing to be no more than a rather standard telecommunication satellite, fired it's thrusters, sending it hurtling towards Derscon at a very high speed...
Global Defence Platform Cairo
The Commander of the massive space Station was in the recon room when a sergeant yelled out to him.
"Inbound satellite! Registers Hattian!"
"What's it look like?"
"Comm satellite, sir." When the General looked at the writing on the satellite, it clearly stated it was the Hattian military.
"Comm my ass! Take it down NOW!"
"Yessir!"
Outside the station, missiles designed like SLBMs, but modified for close-range space warfare, were positioning themselves to the satellite.
"TARGET LOCKED, SIR!"
"FIRE!" The twenty missiles fired at the satellite, locked on with both heat-seekers and laser-guided tracking systems. It was a near impossibility that the satellite would survive, considering each missile had five nuclear warheads.
==========================
Hattian Stratiegic Air Command Center
The soldiers froze when the alarms went off and the doors shut. Domingo smiled.
"They think they can play that game, hmm?" He noticed a chill around him. It's cold in here. Then it hit him.
"Switch to thermal imaging." Everyone switched their goggles to thermal viewing, and loaded the 20mmHE guns on their XM/OICWs.
Domingo peeked around a corner and saw the doors shut, and he noticed the automated turrets. Gotchya. He aimed his XM/OICW at it and pushed the selector switch to 20mmHE, and pulled the trigger, effectively blowing the hell out of the turret.
"Santiago, get charges on that door. Big ones." Santiago smiled as he pulled out two blocks of AC4 explosives.
"Happy to serve, sir." He shuffled over to the door, placed the charges, and backed out. They all ran away fast, and Santiago detonated the blocks. they heard the explosion and saw the fireball rushing inward.
"Well, if they didn't know we're here, they do now! Let's move!" The teams charged back to where they were, only with the hole instead of the door, and made their way through.
Domingo was about to turn a corner when he saw the guards on the other side.
"Dieter, give me a WP Grenade."
"Sir, you ha--"
"Just do it."
"Yessir." Dieter Weber handed him a White Phosphorous grenade -- burns at 2700C and has a blast radius of 15m. Domingo Chavez took out one of his, pulled both pins simultaniously, waited three of the five seconds, and chucked it at the assembly of guards.
OOC: BUMP!
You have a short time to respond, Hattia, or I will just have to go on. :)
OOC: Hey look at that... :D
"Grenade!" shouted one of the guards as the grenade landed in front of his feet.
He quickly leaned over and picked it up in order to throw it back at the Dersconi, but he wasn't quick enough. The grenade went off in his hand, engulfing him and most of his comrades in a burning white light.
-------------------
"Commander, the satellite has been destroyed!" shouted one of the technicians.
Valenko cursed under his breath, he should've used the satellite first and the nukes second.
He went over to the intercom.
Throughout the facility, Valenko shouted orders over the intercom. Unless any of the Dersconi spoke Hatti, they wouldn't know what he was saying. They could tell, however, that most of the doors unlocked and that the guards were making an attempt to retreat further into the facility.
Approximately thirty seconds afterwards, Valenko's voice came over the intercom again. The doors locked again, the control room blast door sealed, and then the Dersconi would've been able to hear a slight hissing sound coming from the wall...
-------------------
Valenko chuckled to himself, most of the personnel were in the biochem safe rooms or the control room, and those that weren't. They weren't fast enough.
"I hope they like Sarin gas..."
*Just a note, Hattia has no delivery ability for chemical weaponry, we just consider using Chemical weapons to prevent someone from getting their hands on most of the country's nukes a legitimate thing.
The soldiers heard the vents and knew it was gas. They weren't worried, though -- the armour was airtight. They switched off the ventelators and went to the reserve tank of oxygen.
Sarin Gas. Nasty stuff. Keep moving.
OOC: You forgot something, Hattia -- the Black Angels and Knights Templar use HALO-like armour (without the energy shields, obviously). It's airtight and strong as heck -- gas won't affect them. Nice try, though. :)
They finally came to the control room blast doors. They placed a hefty amount of explosives, but it wouldn't budge.
"Won't do nothin', sir." Domingo examined the situation, and smiled.
"Okay, I can get through this. Dieter, give me the package."
"Sir, this was for the--"
"I know what it's for, stop questioning me. Give me the package."
"Yessir." Dieter handed him the package. It was a massive percussion bomb designed to take out blast doors and supercomputers. They only had one, so they'd have to just shoot the computers.
When they were far enough away, they detonated it, and went deaf for a moment, and became disoriented. When they recovered, they came back to the control room.
Sir, the Sarin gas is going inside the control room.
Must've been sealed. Too bad.
Right sir. Want me to grenade it?
Sure. Chuck a few.
Righto.
Edward Price took four WP grenades went to the new hole and chucked the WP grenades in four different areas around the room, and went back behind cover.
OOC: Yeah, he wouldn't really have known that anyway, it's standard operating procedure to use the gas if someone gets inside.
"Shit!" shouted Valenko the charge on the door went off and as the gas began to seep into the control room. He quickly regained his senses, dashed to the wall and grabbed one of the gas masks. As he dashed for cover, he grimaced at the sight of one of the guards near the door, already convulsing on the ground.
"Everyone, under cover!"
Valenko and several nearby guards sprinted to one of the nearby deep alcoves that were designed to give the guards some cover if enemies ever got that far into the facility.
He peeked out from his cover and saw a few grenades fly from the hole in the blast door and into the room. A guard managed to kick one back towards the door before the others went off and he fell to the ground, screaming as the skin melted off his body.
Valenko pressed a button on his wrist and shouted a few, quick words over the radio to the troops still in the biochem safety rooms.
He made the appropriate hand signals telling the men to stay under cover until he gave the order...
-------------------
From the safety rooms, came the remnants of the facility's guards, about thirty men total. Some wore only gas masks and airtight suits, while others lumbered about in Zacksalshan (Swordsman) Mark II Power Armor suits. (The Hattian version of NHSR's Stalin Power armor)
The squad of four that was nearest to the fighting advanced cautiously, the Dersconi had already proven themselves to be capable fighters, and none of them wanted to lose their lives today.
The point man stuck his gun, a HBR-6 30.06 semi-automatic rifle, around the corner, withdrew it and motioned for his comrades to be quiet, they'd hit the Dersconi when they were most vulnerable. Not exactly the honorable thing to do, but they were getting desperate.
"Sir, all of the explosives are set." Price handed Domingo the detonator. Chavez nodded, and he glanced over to a fragment of metal, and he saw the 30.06 rifle pulling out from behind the doorframe. He got on the secure com channel.
They've spotted us, but don't let them know we know. I want five
men on that door, and on my mark, lob a few grenades.
Five of the Black Angels formed up on the [what was the] door. Price set up four proximity mines along the edge of the doorframe, and had the men back off. Ten other BAs formed a half-perimeter around the doorframe, as they didn't want to tip them off. The other five soldiers were busy arranging the equipment that they could move to provide a barrier in front of the doorway, both to serve as a massive land mine and as a bunker.
Done. Lob the grenades.........NOW! At that signal, two troops lobbed a WP grenade and a Frag grenade each into the halls, after counting out three of the five second fuse, and then backed off. When the grenades blew up, Price activated the proximity mines, and hid behind a wall. A Black Angel with a 3MG (Mobile Medium Machine Gun) set up in front of the doorframe, using computers, desks, and fragments of the blast door as a shiled and bunker. His ammo was all linked together, so a constant blast could be had.
A four-man front group then ran to get a view of the Hattian troops. A soldier using an FN Minimi SAW with 7.62AP rounds opened fire on the group. The other three of the squad switched their XM-29 OICWs to 20mmHE and began aiming and firing into the heads and chests of Hattian soldiers. Those that escaped the SAW's rounds, anyways. At this point, the Hattians were kept in the hallway, away from the Proximity mines and the 3MG, but once the "suicide squad" -- the four-man team now firing on the Hattians -- backed off or died, the Hattians would no doubt come around the corner;
Into a massive blast from the right and a wall of .308 AP bullets from the front.
The Hattians, while having the numerical advantage, had a tough fight on their hands.
OOC: Christ, Hattia, it has been a month. THink you can post anytime soon?
