With tensions counting on the African continent and the Arabian Peninsula, the citizens of Schultaria Prime have begun to show signs of considerable anxiety over the current international situation. Though no threats of force have been directed to the Nation of Schultaria and the Protectorate of Islandia Schultaria (RL Madagascar and Comoros respectively), common sentiment has become rather dismal.
"I've been reading the news about atrocities and missile alerts from North Africa, and for the first time I'm really frightened," said Edwin Nulton, a foreman for Designwerks' Edgen Shipyards, "What would happen to my family in an attack?"
Another citizen, Marsha Thompson, reflected on the history of the Schultarian Military:
"Frankly I don't know how this situation will turn out; everyone in our nation has shared some pride in never flexing our military might, but now we might have to contend with a potential global war. Are we really ready to prepare ourselves, and will our allies come to our aid if we need them?"
Despite the increase in fear Elliot Schultz, the Central Director of Schultaria Prime, made an impromptu question and answer conference for any questions regarding the position of Schultaria Prime in the escalating conflict. In his closing remarks, he urged the crowd of 3,000 for a continued vigil of peace.
"Trust me; this situation will come to a favorable conclusion my friends. Following the recent rejection of the 'second' NATO ultimatum by its own Congressional Board the world has averted what could have an eighth World War. However, we must consider that this diplomatic solution is not permanent; the African situation has not been quelled; only partially subdued.
Let us all hope for peace and guide ourselves to a brighter future."
