A question for the RP'ing community

Greetings, all.

I feel that I need to bring this up.

I've noticed that almost nobody provides feedback on my RP'ing of custom weapon development. I thought it'd be fun and original for me to try to develop my unique brand of military hardware.

So far, I'm trying to develop 2 custom projects... the Colossus, and the Aeolus. Also, there's little feedback on my Space Program. In addition, I'm about to start RP'ing the development and usage of anti-grav technology inspired by the one proposed by Viktor Schauberger. It is a repulsion system thought out in the 1920's but forgotten.

Is the lack of feedback or advice because my custom RP's are boring? Because I'm a new nation? Because people think its silly? Is it because people think my stuff sucks? Is it because my RP'ing of developing my custom stuff isn't interesting?

I'd like to know why people rarely respond or provide good feedback on my custom project RP's.

Aeolus thread: http://forums2.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=352879

Colossus thread: http://forums2.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=348936

Space Program thread: http://forums2.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=352900

So far... CM, Rubberduckistan, Vatsiva, Torsg, and Jonothana have been the nations that gave me the most advice, help, and suggestions so far. Schultaria Prime has just begun giving advice about my space program.

I'd really like some more help with feedback about my stuff. Things like:

"Is it feasible?"

"Would this be a good idea?"

"Would this be god-modding?"

"Is this a believable Modern or Post Modern tech?"

"What kind of industry, supply, etc. do you have and need?"

Etc.

I don't want to end up building projects or programs that would be ignored or be branded "God-modder". I really don't want to end up like Seph, Cam III, or Hataria. I want to be a good RP'er that everybody will enjoy RP'ing with and have fun reading my RP's.

Thanks for reading this, and please respond. I'd really like to be a great RP'er and have great equipment selection, and be original. I don't want to be stuck using generic jets, ships, tanks, cars, trains, power plants, technology, etc.

I don't beleive that if you develope advance technology, you become a God-moder! I have a large space pragram as well and have technology of roughly 300 years ahead of today. But everything I have has weaknesses. A bow and arrow can kill a mole, rocks can destroy tanks etc. So as long as stuff has weaknesses, it should be fine. I'm kinda interested in your threads, but i'm to lazy to look. Could you give a breif summary of each, then I might look for more information if i'm interested? Thanks

Bump!

Actually, Moleland, the very first post in each of these threads pretty much summarizes the whole goal of each project.

Because I'm a new nation?

I'm sure this is the reason. Lots of threads don't get the recognition that they deserve, and lots of threads get "recognition" (I'm not talking about respect, just a whole load of views) that really don't deserve it.

Although, I've never seen the threads in question... so a part of the reason may be just because people miss it, and it drops out of the pages because of everyone "n00king us alllll!!11!!!!!!shift1"
Bleh, because I'm so nice and great I'll flick through them.

Personally, I think your writing style is fine, and though I don't have a lot of experience with weapons development, everything sounds plausible to me.

Keep going, and have faith: there ARE some cool, veteran nations that will give a noob a break, though there are many that won't. I would be honored to RP with you ANYTIME.

I would minimize the moverment of the Colossus Artillery platform.
The tremendous force you would be placing on a moving platform(you said 360degrees) would make for dangerous conditions under sustained fire.
Use missiles and anti-missile defence system to provide coverage for your system.
Erinin has a CIWS and High-altitude defence system which might complement defending your gun.

I'm with Jordaxia and others who comment on your newness. It takes a while before most veteran players start warming up to most newbs. You'll need to post for a little while before you get an RP track record or get on the radar screens of most players.

There is a difference between a n00b and a newb. A n00b is an idiot, moron, Godmodder, flamer, etc. A newb is just a new country.

Suffice to say, you're on my radar screen now, so I'll have a look when I get a chance.

I think this should be added.
Remember that you can not 'win' here.
So what you really should seek to do to get positive attention is be as good a roleplayer as you can be.
Details, and ideas, characters and quality.

I think Jordaxia is a 100% correct. Alot of people( i will admit done myself) just ignored threads by Newbs just because they don't have any rping skill..and about 1/10 of the time were right. But most of the time we are wrong and ufforntatley peoplel get used to NoObs and ignored new players till they get to a billion or something of the sort. Just get involved in any rp that suits you then people will have you bookmarked and you find more people will read your threads:)

Not to be redundant or anything, but my demographic hasn't spkoen up yet. I mean, besides yourself, Sharina. But, yeah, people definately skip right over you if you are a new nation. I mean, I'm new, yes, but I can write a fair jot better than many on this forum. Sorry, that sounded conecited, but what I meant was that a nation of 350 million who doesn't capitalize or use punctuation will get more attention than a new nation with an intelligent thread. :headbang:

Um... that's just my $0.02.

First i would liek to appologise if my criticism were a bit harsh and patronising.
Personally i tend to veiw any new weapons threads but unless there is something glaringly wrong (and to begin with there wasn't really with either project) i tend not to say anything.

Thanks for the feedback, guys.

I enjoy RP'ing because I like to see what stories, ideas, and stuff other people can do. I'm aware that there is no "real" way to win in NS, after all, everbody does lose something in warfare.

I'm here to have a good time, enjoy butting my ideologies, try out new technologies and weapon / civilian stuff, and see what directions or how well my nation does in the international scene.

I'm a big fan of Civilization games, most notably Civ 2 and Civ 3. I also love the 'what-if' possibilities, hence my nation being a blend of modern day Incan / ancient Egyptian culture.

I'm not sure whether to build a custom Earth for my nation, or use real life Earth. If it is in Real life Earth, my nation would be situated in Mexico, Southwestern USA, California, and the Baja Peninsula. The deserts would actually be grasslands in this Earth.

I do appreciate your feedback and support. I'm grateful for that.

I do plan on making a website for my nation. Perhaps that would help boost my "radar signature"? :D
