News Break!

Algamia
02-09-2004, 22:43
(Cut to cheesy news channel logo with repititous dramatic music... it fades away and light turn on revealing a middle aged man sitting behind a desk holding papers with a picture of burning building in the back ground. Words appear in front of him, "Algamia in Crisis")

We interrupt your regularly broadcasted show for this important news break you heard first on the Algamia National Broadcasting Channel.

(Background shows close up of dead bodies, smashed windows and over turned cars)

As of three hours ago, the President declared the town of Solemn Rock a national danger zone due to the recent attacks by the Welvish. He is calling for the Algamian National Guard to secure the area and quell the recent assualts carried out by the creatures. For a more indepth look at this and the welvish, we turn to Dr. Malachi Morloft, our head science member.

(Screen shifts to the right, the anchorman turns to the right and an old man with salt and peppered beard is seen sitting at the desk. The back ground image dissaperes)

Thanks, Kyle. It interesting to note that the Welvish have not engaged in violent confrontation against the inhabitants of Algamia for nearly two decades now. Why they've begun is a true mystery.

(Screen moves to Kyle)

What can you tell us about the Welvish?

(screen moves to Malachi)

The Welvish are approximitly three feet tall and resemble a very furry child with long claws. They are related to wolverines in most sense, especially the insane furry. One creature can destroy a small town but when a pack begins to hunt, they are nearly unstoppable.

(Screen shifts to Kyle)

I've read when the first settlers of Algamia arrived that they had to deal with the Welvish in full force. How did they manage this feat and more so, how did the Welvish get tamed?

(Screen shifts to Malachi)

Well, thats the thing, Kyle. You see, the Welvish can't be tamed in the litteral sense.....

(Screen shifts to Kyle)

This just in, another town is being attacked, we've gotten into a camera feed from a military helicopter over head of the town..

(Screen changes to a shaky, staticy overhead view of a town as small shadowy figures run down the streets after human figures. Several lunge and tackle the humans and the screen switches back to Kyle)

I'm getting word the President is going to make an announcement soon, stay tuned.... Malachi, we'll finish this when we return.

(Screen fades to black)

(Dramatic part of some movie... interrupted by a news break logo. Logo says, "ANBC Action news update")

We interrupt the eight o'clock movie to bring you an update on a story you saw first on Algamia National Broadcasting Channel.

(Screen shows same anchorman as before sitting behind his desk)

This just in, Algamian National Guard troops have begun attempting to retake the town of Greenhaven. Reports are sketchy but it appears the troops are having trouble getting as far as three blocks into the town as the Welvish appear to be putting up a heavy resistance. The Algamian National Guard is reporting that very few civilians escaped the town alive. In the words of General McAlister, "...The Welvish may be animals but they are thorough...".

This fighting comes an hour before the president was supposed to make a speech regarding the events.

The list of towns ravished by the Welvish are: Solemn Rock, Green Haven, Jourisberg and Laketown. These towns are to evacuate as soon as possible: Anglebrook and Kielsburg. If the Troops are unsucessful in stopping the Welvish at Green Haven, those towns will be under threat of assualt.

We will return again when the president makes his speech.
