Fox News (Jarridian Owned): Breaking News
The screen changed to say "We interrupt this broadcast with an important news bulletin"
The screen switched to show Jasmine Means sitting behind the desk, her blonde hair bright in the glaring lights from above. She cleared her throat and began to utter the urgent news.
"Good morning, we have urgent news to report. All over our nation Schools are reported closing as teachers have lead a historically massive strike throughout the nation. Not only are teachers fighting back, due to the lack of funds the schools have recieved because of nationwide budget cuts, but healthcare and mass transit workers have dropped their jobs saying 'No more.'
All over, hospitals, schools, universities, construction crews, buses, trains and airports have all been shut down. It is reported that all incoming Jarridian flights have been rerouted to Smithsilian or Utcheeri Airports until the situation is remedied. Thousand of workers have hit the streets and cities are basically at a standstill as the highway systems are unable to cope with the influx of vehicular travel.
In other news, President Branam's trip to Utcheer in order to discuss a possible aid situation between the nations, was cut short so that he could return and began trying to cool the flaring tempers back home. We are unsure at the moment if any progress has been made, but union leaders have stated that no one will return to work until their points have been met.
All in all, the Jarridian Economic situation has worstened due to the onset of these strikes. The only people rejoicing in this matter are the children who now have an indefinite vacation time. We will keep you updated at this strory progresses. Thank you for your time, I'm Jasmine Means with Fox News."

Presidential Office; Shelbin, Jarridia
Jarrod entered the room quickly, as he had just returned from Utcheer. His advisors stood up, and he waved them down as he sat in his chair behind his desk leaning forward on his elbows.
"Tell me what is going on!" said Jarrod angrily.
"Well sir, its quite simple. Our nation has shut down, without mass transit, the cities can't run. Without healthcare, people will surely die, and without education, the juvenile crime may increase." responded Jason Jahari, the Workforce Commisioner, with slight sarcasm in his voice.
"I don't need snide remarks from you Jason!," Jarrod yelled, "I want to know how we can fix this. The economy is in bad enough shape as it is."
"The cities mainly affected," said Kim as she directed their attention to a map, "are Kiakor, Seaton, Corvica, Regence, Westwood, and other main cities. Shelbin is one of the few that have been left running. However, the entire education system is shut, except for some of the smaller towns and villages."
"Does anyone have any ideas?" said Jarrod looking at everyone's faces.
Most of his advisors looked at eachother and shook their heads. Rachel Murphy, Secretary of Transportation stood up and said, "We could try to temporarily remedy the situation with those already unemployed. They would be willing to work in conditions such as these in order to make a few bucks."
Marty Freveson, the Fiscal Advisor, snarled instantly, "We have no money Rachel. The nation is bankrupt. The best we could do is give them free tickets to tour Shelbin. Other than that, I'm not sure how we can get anyone to work."
A heavy sigh went throughout the room, and Jarrod, using his last patience said, "well...we must do something. Our economy will never recover if no one has a means of education, health, and a way to get from point A to point B."
Everyone sat quietly. The day was starting off terrible, the busy streets of Shelbin were not far from being gripped in its on terrifying ordeal in itself.
